As Aura and I head into the woods, we hear screaming. "What the..." I said, confused.

"We need to help them." Aura claimed.

"Right." We head toward whoever is screaming. As we get closer, it's not just one person, but many. Aura and I burst into an opening to see...everything covered in ice. "It's hot out today, there shouldn't be any ice." Aura said.

"Yet...there is." I replied. "Where are the people?"

"I sense a mamodo near by!"

"Is it Nazo?!" My anger rising.

"No, it's someone else." As if on cue, two figures came out of the thicket of trees. One was short, with long black hair and ragged clothing. The other was in a business suit, like he was about to head to an interview. Under his arm was a blue spell book.

"Are you the ones who did this?" I yelled at them.

"So what if we did?" The mamodo said.

His partner opened the book and pronounced a spell. I opened mine as well.

"Reis!"

"Zurun!" The attack he used was a giant icicle, but it was no match for the blue wide blast of Zurun. The spells connected, Zurun broke the shard of ice and headed towards the mamodo and his partner.

"Verai!" The mamodo blew out an enormous gust of what appeared to be water vapor. It canceled out Zurun. "Well, so we finally find a strong mamodo." Claimed the man. "My name is Tyler, and this is my mamodo, Colven."

"Nice to meet you." said the mamodo in an sharp, cold voice...

The entire world froze around me and Cogsworth, trees didn't sway, people didn't move, spells didn't activate, life didn't go forward, except for me and Cogsworth.

 

"Whoa, James, I didn't know that I was capable of this", Cogsworth said, looking around.

 

"Me neither, but we don't have time for that, this spell probably won't last long."

 

"Right, let's attack now." He ran towards Jio and struck with a barrage of punches and kicks, "you know that we could win by burning their book now, but that wouldn't be any fun."

 

I was attacking Dan at the same moment, "yeah, you're right."

 

Then time unfroze, and Dan and Jio went flying back from 1 last kick, to each of their jaws.

Nazo had gone ahead and let Mei-Li rest while he contemplated on who was nearing him. By now the other Book Owners would have hear that he was on the prowl, and only the daring would actually come near him, he looked back at Mei-li, who seemed to still be recovering and hadn't said a thing since they started walking.. "After only one spell, baah!" he murmured to himself, at this rate it didn't matter how strong he was, if she didn't shape up, he would fall out of the contest before he could get a chance.

The air around us was as cold as a blizzard. I was used to the cold because of the very long walk home, but Aura was shivering. "Let's end this fast. Zurun!"

"Reis!" said Tyler. Both the attacks caused a shockwave of ice and blue as they hit. I handed the book to Aura and ran through the haze towards Tyler. Colven dove between us and launched himself at me. He grabbed at my shirt. "Verai!" The mamodo opened his mouth, and I pointed him to Tyler. He moved out of the way with ease.

I threw him toward Aura, "Zurun!" Colven hit the attack at full power. He dropped to the ground, burned by the spell.

"Not bad." said Colven.

"What?!" I sceamed. He should have been badly wounded from that! He was so close to the epicenter of it! I realized that Aura was right next to him, with the spell book! She was wide open! "Aura, watch ou-" Tyler hit me in the back of my neck. I fell to the ground in a daze. He put his foot on top of me as I lay, stopping me from getting up.

"That'll shut you up. Now, onto the girl, Reis!" shouted Tyler. The giant icicle came toward Aura at amazing speed. I thought it was all over, but she evaded the attack. In the confusion of what just happened, she sprinted to Tyler and knocked him off his feet.

"H-how..." I stuttered.

"I was declared one of the fastest mamodo around." Aura said with a grin on her face...

a slight chill was going through the air, but it wasn't from the wind, it seemed to come from the Eastern end, and it was caused by two mamodo, one appropriately being an Ice Mamodo....the other....." Mei-li, stand up....I can sense her...." he grins malevolently as he extends his hand to pick Mei-li up, she looks at his hand, no one ever offered to help her up before. "What's wrong? why are you just staring at me? let's go!" she nodded her head as she took his hand, but instead of standing he lifted her on his back. "You're too slow, hang on!" he began sprinting, it reminded him of the races he had with her, and how she could always outrun him.

Raikun looked up, a few miles in front of them towards the woods

"There..." he said, starting to walk towards the woods "That's were they are..."

Raizen followed him, the book clenched in his hand

"But we won't get involved in a fight, right, Raikun?" Raizen asked, looking towards the woods in thought of what kind of mamodo where in there.

Raikun nodded

"We will try to avoid as many fights as possible for now..." he said, reassuring Raizen.

Moments later they found their selves at the entrance that lead inside, without another word, the 2 glanced at each other, and entered.

((By wall I meant a wall, not the attack. And a time freeze would pervent a match from being lit, wouldn't it? Just checking.))

 

"Perfect," Dan groaned as he and and Jio slid to a halt. He pushed himself to his feet and rubbed his throbbing jaw. Jio scowled and leaned agaisnt the wall.

"Pest!" he growled. "You dare do that to me? I will crush you!"

"Cool it, Jio," Dan cautioned. He examined the situation. James was injured as was probably low on heart power. But Dan was a bit low too. Both Jio and Cogsworth were worse for wear, Jio being the worse of the two. Then that strange attack Cogsworth used... wait...Cogsworth?

 

"Jio, we're giong up. Cogsworth uses time magic."

"Up?" Jio asked.

"Hey." Dan examined the wall behind him. The building was abandoned and old. He could see several places to hook his whip.

"Follow my lead," he instructed Jio. he snapped his whip, wraping it around a small rusted pipe. Pulling himself up, he repeated it with a different hold. jio used his scarf to make a simular climb. Soon, they were almost three stories above the ground, out of Cogsworths jumping range.

"Jio: set 3- Zirato! Zirato! Zirato!" Jio launched three scattered energy blast towards the opposing pair.

ooc: Well I could picture an energy wall in my mind after you made that line, sorry. And time stopped except for me and Cogsworth, so if one of us were holding the matches, fire could light.

 

IC:

"You may have the high ground...", I snarled and jumped to the side.

 

"Hmph", Cogsworth jumped over to me.

 

"But with the distance you're at, we have plenty of time to get away from your attacks." I looked at Cogsworth, "you know what to do."

 

But he just stood there, panting like a dog and holding his stomach, "ungh." He clinched his chest and fell to his knees.

 

"Oh no, and at a time like this", we're both pretty exhausted, but he's the one that's had to actually use the spells. If we stay any longer, we could both end up dying...

 

He stood back up, "don't worry about me, I'm fine."

 

"No, you're not, you're badly injured. We've gotta head home." I started walking off.

 

"What, are you serious!?"

 

"Yes, I am. Ciphera." I picked up Cogsworth as time froze again, and ran, ran home as fast as I could.

Jio and Dan easily leapt down from their perch. It had taken Dan a moment to spot the retreating pair after Cogsworth doubled over. Dan was gld for the break.

"Cowards," Jio growled. "Runnig away from the battle!"

Dan stared at him for a moment before touching his neck. Jio yelled in pain.

"See, your hurt," Dan said impassively. "Their retreat works for us too. I'm low on heart power." He sighed. "Manipulation, huh? Little Cogs and his butler James are going to prove interesting. And annoing. Before we face them again we need the second spell."

He shrugged and headed home. still fuming, Jio followed.

"Wow, James, they seem to be tough."

 

"You're right", I said, putting another bandage on my leg. "That hit really messed my leg up", I clinched my fist in anger, "we should've burned their book when we had the chance."

 

"Don't worry about it", he seemed glad that we ran, "that would've made us terrible people. Like when we got Nazo's book while he was talking with his partner. It was a cheap shot, and you knew it, so you didn't burn his book. You have a good heart."

 

"Heh, thanks."

[Zeroke]

As Aura lifted me from the ground, Tyler ran where Colven was standing. "We have to be careful with these two." said Colven. "The boy seems to be strong, and the girl is fast."

"Looks like they will give us a good challenge." said Tyler. They both ran toward Aura and I, shouting, "Verai!"

"I am not going to lose here. What do you say we put these guys in their place, Aura?" I said. She nods. The book begins to glow, I didn't even call the spell. I look into it to see that I can read more of the book."The Second Spell...Eodred. Aura, I can read the second spell!"

She smiles. "Let's see what it does."

"Right. Eodred!" Auras palms begin to light up just like with Zurun, except this one didn't move. The blue ball of light just stayed in her hands and grew. Maybe it's a charge spell? " I'll keep them busy while you charge that, alright?"

"Okay." She stays still as the orb grows. I run toward Tyler and Colven...

Raizen and Raikun entered the dark-looking woods without another word. When they entered, Raizen found himself tripping over a few branches and tree roots along the way. Raikun ignored it, and decided to take notice of the area. Not long after, he was able to find out where the other mamodo were. Raikun glanced towards Raizen as he stood up

"Stay quiet..." he said, slowly bringing his voice down to a whisper. Just like that, they rendered themselves 'out of sight'

c4: This is 1000 years later, so Zatch should be aged and it should be Kiyo's great great great, etc, grandon. Also, Mr.WHAM is going to be your son, and he's gonna be partnered with Zatch's grandson, just so you know.

 

IC:

I grabbed a banana from the counter to give to Cogsworth, but he was eating my entire steak. "Cogsworth......shouldn't you atleast heat that up...?"

 

"No, you get more protein from eating it raw."

 

"Yeah, but you still get worms", I pilled the banana and took a bite.

 

"Mamodo don't get sick like that. It's one of our good things." He finished off the steak and licked off his fingers.

 

"You just eat an entire 10 ounce steak, all alone..."

 

"Yup, and it was good."

 

I sighed and took another bite of the banana.

As their spell was still in effect, I grabbed a branch from the ground and hurdled it at Colven. The branch knocked Colven to the ground, canceling the spell. Tyler readied himself to say another spell as I ran at him.

"Rei-ugh-ah!" Tyler grunted as I punched him in his gut. As he doubled over, I kicked the book out of his hands. Before I could retrieve it, Colven jumped from the ground straight at me. He clung to my shirt with a solid grip. At the time, Tyler had picked the spell book back up and shouted, "Reis!" His mouth began to gather shards of ice as they fused together. With much strength, I rotated myself so that my back was to Tyler. The icicle erupted from his mouth, I move my head out of the way at the last second, the tip grazing my cheek. The icicle flew near Tyler and cut into his left arm. Tyler screamed in pain.

I grabbed Colven when he was confused as to what happened, and flung him at Tyler. They hit eachother with great force, knocking the breath out of eachother. I breath heavily, aware that I was nearly killed. Aura's eyes were closed, concentrating on the blue orb. I could feel it's heat from here, it melted the ice around her. I have to give her more time. "Is that all you got?!"...

"Keep up woman! We're almost there so don't fall back!" he seemed very anxious to get to Aura, the look in his eyes we're a sick, demented type of happy, luckily Mei-li couldn't see, in fact, her eyes were closed.

 

"What do you mean keep up?! I'm holding on to you!!!!" he was running at an incredible speed, maybe it was his anxiousness, but Mei-li was holding on for dear life, if there was a tree in the way....well, it wasn't there for very long.

 

"We're almost there.....I can sense her energy now......" Mei-li was weirded out. "Jeez....all he needs is the evil laugh...." and as if on cue, Nazo stated. "NOT MUCH LONGER, MWAHAHAHAHAHA!" She sighed and smiled. "There it is...he has an odd sense of humor" she thought to herself.

"Hey, James, you do know that there's been a battle going on for quite some time now, don't you?"

 

I was about to take the last bite, but stopped, "huh? You mean a mamodo battle? Why didn't you said anything!?" I munched the last bit of the banana and laid it on the cabinet, "c'mon let's go!"

 

"You seem to be in a hurry, why is that? The battle's about over. But okay." Cogsworth jumped off the table top and followed me out the door, running to keep up.

 

"We'll miss it all if we don't hurry, you should've said something!"

 

He sighed and kept up with me easily, "yeah, yeah, yeah. Just go."

 

We arrived at the fight between Nazo and Aura.

 

"Hey, James, I know those two. And I'm sure you remember Nazo."

 

I clenched my fists, "yes, I remember...."

OOC:NOT ME...not just yet

 

They had run into Cogsworth and James on their way to finding Aura. "Well Well Well...looks like someone came for a rematch....." Mei-li looked at cogsworth again. "You may be adorable! but what you said was just mean!!!!" Nazo sighed, but he liked her enthusiasm. "if Anything, I'm sure you'll notice Mei-li will be a little tougher than last time....and that was what? a few hours ago? I have to say I'm a pretty good Public Speaker."

Before long Raizen and Raikunu found themselves only a few meters away from the other mamodo; They decided to stay quiet, and not to move, this was a perfect spot to see everything anyway.

Raizen opened his mouth to speak, but Raikunu stopped him immediately. He gave him a look that seemed to say

'One word and we are toast'

Raizen nodded and then just watched, wanting to see the extent of the other mamodo's powers.

"Hmm, umm......sorry, but why do you sound so sure of yourself again?" I chuckled and looked down at Cogsworth.

 

He was staring down Nazo, "James, this isn't the time to joke around. Oh, and human, I'm very sorry for saying what I said. I was just mad at Nazo for being so mean towards you, but that's just the way he is."

 

"Yeah, now that that's out of the way, we have to make sure that Nazo doesn't become the king. We need a good kind, a kind king. Zatch was and is perfect for that, but I guess that it's impossible to stop the wars...." I looked at Mei-Li, "please, just give me the book. We don't have to fight, this can end peacefully."

"You hear that Mei-li? he barely knows you and he's already telling you what to do.....are you going to take that? remember now....I can make him...go away..." he lifts his hand up and waits for her to say the spell, she looks at him and then at them, if she aimed her heart for the book, then the blast woult erase it from existence. but.....on the other hand.....she really could just erase them, her spell would cause them great damage, and that's what they deserve right? those that have been using her all this time deserve it....right? "So....what will it be Mei-li?"

"Wait", I opened the book, "you say that like she has a choice.....Have you two learned the second spell...?"

 

"James, I have a feeling they mean business. They could've very well learned the second spell, but so have we."

 

"Yes, I know that." But will it be enough?

[Lord JZ of the Enigma]

"Go ahead...try me...." he stated, now knowing that they had also acquired the second spell, the only question was...could they use it? He could sense that the human was running low on Heart power, while Mei-li had more than enough time to rest, their new attack would be at full power, while their opponent's would not, giving him an unwanted upperhand. "Can you even use a spell right now? you do look tired....." he said mockingly.

Raizen and Raikunu still watched from afar. It was hard to hear what they were saying, but Raikunu saw one of the humans open their spell book.

Raizen wanted to say something, but knew that if he did, he would surely be discovered; so he kept his mouth shut and focused a bit more on trying to hear what they said. Raikunu didn't hesitate to do the same, so far, they hadn't been discovered.

"Of course we can use our spells", but then my stomach growled. If only I'd eaten something...

 

"Get ahold of yourself James", he looked at me angrily, "this time....we don't run, understand?"

 

"Yeah, no matter how tough things get, we don't run this time." I looked at Mei-Li, "please, give us the book. This could be over so quickly. So very quickly, if we froze time and just burned their book. But what would Cogsworth think of me? Cogsworth, I don't want to dissapoint you, but we may have no choice.
