Haven't watched the anime at all recently, though. Tsukune is definately a male harem lead of a different breed compared to the norm. He doesn't come off as an idiot or perverted. His harem is... quirky. And silly. And even then the group gets wrapped up in serious situations. Like I said, it's addicting.
