HUGE competition for aspiring writers/card creators - Judging commenced...

Well, this contest is going to be HUGE! The prize will vary, depending on the amount of people that sign up.

 

Here's the deal. It costs 20 points per team to enter. You enter as a team of two. One person writes a fanfic (can be about anything to with Yugioh including crossovers) and the other person provides all the card pics.

Alternatively, you may enter by yourself.

 

You MUST use new cards, cards already made will not be accepted.

The fanfic should be between 500 and 2000 words in length.

 

The contest will be judged on 3 aspects.

-Spelling and grammar in fanfic

-Quality of cards

-General quality of fanfic

 

PRIZES:

1st place: 1/4 of total signup points that everyone pays per person in team (1/2 of points if you enter alone)

1 rep each (2 reps if you enter alone)

2nd place:1/8 of total signup points per person in team (1/2 of points if you enter alone)

1 rep each (2 reps if you enter alone)

3rd place: 1/8 of total signup points per person in team (1/2 of points if you enter alone)

 

Entries must be in by the 1st of February, 2008.

Any entries after that will not be accepted.

Final results will be posted on the 1st of March, 2008.

Winners will be notified by PM.

 

You must reserve an entry by the 1st of January, so get in quick.

This is most likly is a stupid question but what on earth is a fanfic?

A fanfic is a story that you write based on a TV program/game/book.

one persons creates a Yu-gi-oh based story featuring made up cards, possibly a duel.

and the second person creates those cards mentioned??

Yea, you do need a partner. When you find one, post both names and which person is doing what. Then you can get started.

Pay your points when you submit your entry, not before then. That way, you won't stand to lose points if something happens to the competition.

Oh, and no refunds, it would be too much of a hassle. So only enter if you are sure.

lol a fanfic is Fan Fiction, as in a story you make which can involve real characters from the show, but u can make up ur own cards. and this is the 1st contest ive seen where u gotta pay too enter

well i don't have anywhere else to get decent prizes for a competition as big as this, so in some way it's like a lottery, but with skill involved.

obeliskblue, I don't think you really get the whole idea. A fanfic is a WHOLE STORY.

Are we only allowed original characters and only original cards in the fanfic? I was thinking about using a duelist from the anime with a largely original deck, but a few real cards remaining... now that I think about it, aren't cards like Monster Reborn etc allowed?
