Yu-Gi-Oh! The Emissaries

Max Darkness

Recommended Posts

A fan-fic based on certain sets and an invented history I created for those cards. This set is set sometime between GX and 5Ds, where Neo Domino City is being constructed, but Domino City is still the superior settlement.
Phase 1: Rising from the Ashes

Trans. Jap.: Neo Domino! Phoenix City!]

Eternal light. And timeless darkness. The two forces that rule this world. Since the beginning of time we have fought, forever trying to destroy the other. Our conflict is waged on this world, our actions dictating humanity’s evolution. When the light is strong, peace reigns. When the darkness consumes, war controls.

Who are we? Two ancient races thought lost to time. But we remain. And we shall continue to exist until one of us dies. Earth is our stage, and this performance is never-ending.

Two figures stood atop an abandoned skyscraper overlooking a large area of newly-developed land. The building they were on was scorched and gutted by fire on the side facing the development, offering a clue to the area’s recent history. On the other side, a vast city stretched out behind them, Domino City.

The two were both young men, one in his late teens, the other 15. The first wore a jet black jacket and all-weather trousers. His dark brown hair was arranged into two angular strands that came down from the fringe before arching over his ears. The two were also dyed with subtle blonde streaks. The second was a lot more subdued, wearing a plain brown coat and denim jeans. His black hair was cut simply, with no elaborate details.

“Incredible, isn’t it?”

“Hmm?”

“The fact that three years ago, this area was smouldering wasteland. Now it’s finally habitable again. Shows you what people can do if we try.” The two figures were situated on the roof of an empty tower block on the edge of the new development.

“Phil-kun” Started the second, glancing to the first, “Tell me. What are we really doing here? I know you didn’t just want to look at Neo Domino.”

“That much is true Akira. (Philip’s British descent meant he rarely used honorific suffixes) I felt…something coming from this area a few days ago.”

“Something? Could you be more specific?”

“Yes. It was the feeling of something light; something good. Almost like something was coming back to life. But it wasn’t this. It was a person.”

“And you wanted to see if you could pinpoint it?” Akira reasoned. Philip laughed.

“We’ve known each other for too long. You might as well be empathic as well.”

“You know damn well I don’t want that sort of stuff in my head. I’m fine with being normal.”

“Suit yourself; although I don’t need to be an empath to know what you’re thinking most of the time.”

...

The pair trekked down the stairwell of the damaged building treading carefully to avoid the gutted sections. On the third floor, they crossed the empty section, apparently empty.

“Stop.” Said Philip, distrust in his voice.

“What is it?” There’s someone here; hiding.

“Come on out. I know you’re there.” Philip called out. A shadowy figure appeared from behind a pillar.

“So, who are you?”

“You don’t need to know that. All you need to know is that you’ll give me your valuables unless you want to get hurt.” He sneared, revealing a knife.

“So you want this?” Philip reached into his Duel Disk and pulled out a Ghost Rare “Power Tool Dragon” card. The man’s eyes lit up when he saw it.

“Tell you what. If you can beat us in a Duel, we’ll give you what you want. Sound fair?”

“Fine, but you’ve made a mistake. I’m good; and ruthless”.

The man pulled a Battle City-spec Duel Disk from behind him, strapped it on and activated it. Sensing the Duel Disk’s activation, the Duel Disks on Philip and Akira automatically activated. Akira was using a Duel Academy-spec disk while Philip’s was of a completely different design.

Elliptical in shape, with the card zones located on an angled blade and a shining gold colour; it was clearly from a different era. The disks readily shuffled the Decks, beginning the game.

“Duel!”
Phase 2: Envoy of Justice

Trans. Jap.: Ultimate Machine Power Tool Dragon! 5200 ATK?!]

“Duel!”

Turn 1

“I’ll start things off.” Declared Philip, drawing from his Deck.

“I summon Drill Synchron (EARTH/Level 3/Machine/Tuner/ATK 800/DEF 300) in Attack Position.” The small mechanical monster appeared in a spiral of light, its weapons whirring.

“And now I’ll activate Terraforming, allowing me to draw my Gaia Power Field Spell from my Deck. Now it’s in my hand, I’ll of course activate it.” As he laid the card on the Duel Disk, the arena’s appearance changed completely. The grey and black concrete was replaced with a thick forest, light gently filtering in.

“Gaia Power raises the ATK of all EARTH monsters by 500 while reducing their DEF by 400.” Drill Synchron was surrounded by an auburn glow as its ATK grew to 1300.

“I’ll end my turn by setting two cards face-down. Over to you Akira.”

“Right.” Said Akira, sounding nervous.

“I summon Mrs. Lovett (DARK/Level 2/Fiend/ATK 400/DEF 800) in Attack Position and set 1 card face-down. That’s all.”

“My turn!” cried the thief, drawing vigourously.

“I’ll use your own card to quicken your defeat kid. I summon the Obnoxious Celtic Guard (EARTH/Level 4/Warrior/ATK 1400/DEF 1200). And because of your own field spell, it powers up.”

“That’s true. Unfortunately Gaia Power affects all EARTH monsters on the field, regardless of controller. But in the end, it shouldn’t matter too much.” Remarked Philip.

“My Deck is filled with high-powered monsters that'll tear through you! You'd better worry! I set 1 card face-down and end my turn.”

Turn 2

“Very well. Draw.” Philip looked at his hand and a smile crept to his lips. “I end my turn.”

“What?!” exclaimed Akira, clearly shocked at Philip’s lack of action.

“Don’t worry.” Philip calmly replied.

“Your Deck is so weak you can’t counter my Celtic Guard? Pathetic.”

“Think what you will. It’s Akira’s turn.”

“Okay. Draw.” Akira looked at the drawn card and immediately became happier.

“I send the WhiteChapel Field Spell in my hand to activate Lightning Vortex!”

“What?”

“It destroys all monsters on your side of the field.” With that, a series of lightning bolts lanced down onto the thief’s Guard, obliterating it instantly. When the dust settled, Akira continued. “Now, Mrs. Lovett; direct attack!” The fiend monster slashed at her opponent causing him to grunt from the shock. (Thief Life Points: 4000 → 3600) “I end my turn.”

“Draw!”

“I activate my face-down card, Birthright and Special Summon my Obnoxious Celtic Guardian from the Graveyard. And now I’ll tribute it to summon Frostosaurus! (WATER/Level 6/Dinosaur/ATK 2600/DEF 1800) Frostosaurus, attack Mrs. Lovett!” The ice-coated therapod reared its head back and let loose a bright blue beam that tore through Akira’s monster. (Akira Life Points: 4000 → 1800)

Still recovering from the force of the blow, Akira struggled to state; “I activate Mrs. Lovett’s effect. When I receive Battle Damage from a battle involving it, I can add a DARK monster with ATK equal to or less than the damage I took. And I add my Dark Lucius LV6 to my hand.”

“I think that’s enough pain for the moment. I set one card face-down.”

Turn 3

“I think it’s time I wound this up. Draw.”

“I summon Barrier Statue of the Drought (EARTH/Level 4/Rock/ATK 1000/DEF 1000). Being an EARTH monster, it is empowered by Gaia Force, but that’s not especially important. I will tune my Drill Synchron and Barrier Statue of the Drought.”

“Lone machine in this fight of ancients, bring forth justice by your hand. Synchro Summon! Arise, Power Tool Dragon!”

As the chant was recited, a sphere of golden light descended onto the battle arena and burst open to reveal Power Tool Dragon (EARTH/Level 7/Machine/Synchro/ATK 2300/DEF 2500). As it took position behind Philip, he stared at the thief, his smile clearly showing a malevolent edge.

“Gaia Power increases Power Tool Dragon’s ATK by 500 to 2800. And now I activate Power Tool Dragon’s effect. It adds a random Equip Spell Card to my hand.” Philip’s Duel Disk automatically ejected a card from his Deck. “I drew Invigoration. I now equip that to Power Tool Dragon, giving it a further 400 ATK (Power Tool Dragon ATK: 3200).”

“Now Power Tool; destroy that frozen dinosaur. Power Break!” Philip’s dragon lunged forward and drove its spinning drill into the thief’s monster, shattering the hologram. (Thief’s Life Points: 3600 → 3000)

“I end my turn.”

“My turn.”

“I summon Skull Knight #2 (DARK/Level 3/Fiend/ATK 1000/DEF 1200) in Attack Position. Next I equip it with Axe of Despair, increasing its ATK by 1000. Skull Knight, direct attack!”

“Not so fast! I activate my Trap Card Negate Attack, ending the Battle Phase.”

“Damn...” Akira said quietly. He looked over to Philip, as if to look for inspiration. Philip caught his glance and smiled, simply glancing to his hand.

“It doesn’t matter what he does next turn. He can’t win. Our victory is already assured.” Philip spoke calmly and coldly.

“What was that you brat?”

“You cannot win. That was all.”

“I’ll show you! Draw!” The thief looked over at his opponent’s monsters. He looked down at his hand and realised he would have to stall for a couple of turns before his more powerful monsters were available.

“I activate Silent Doom. This allows me to Special Summon a Normal Monster resting my Graveyard in face-up Defense Postion. And I choose my Frostosaurus! Be revived!” The ice-bound dinosaur rose out of the ground and roared triumphantly.

“Next, I summon Oppressed People in Defense Position (DEF: 2000) and end my turn.”

Turn 4

“So, you’ve switched to a defensive wall-type strategy. Curious how easily one can turn the enemy’s tactics with propaganda... My turn.”

“I equip Power Tool Dragon with the United We Stand and Big Bang Shot cards from my hand, increasing its ATK by a further 1200 points (Power Tool Dragon ATK: 4400). Then, I remove my Drill Synchron and Barrier Statue of Drought in my Graveyard from play to Special Summon Gigastone Omega (EARTH/Level 5/Rock/ATK 1000/DEF 2300) from my hand. Since it’s an EARTH monster, its ATK rises by 500 and its DEF drops to 1900.”

“Since I now control a second monster, United We Stand increases Power Tool Dragon’s ATK and DEF by another 800. (Power Tool Dragon ATK: 5200 DEF: 3500) I activate Sylvan Force from my hand. With this card, I select 1 EARTH Rock or Plant-Type monster I control and until the End Phase of this turn, it gains 1000 ATK, then it’s destroyed. I choose Gigastone Omega, raising its ATK to 2500.”

“Now; to end this. Gigastone Omega, attack Frostosaurus!” The stone golem rose up and clawed at the ice monster, slicing it apart.

“Power Tool Dragon, finish this fight. Destroy his Oppressed People!” Power Tool Dragon’s eyes glowed bright and its body was enveloped in a bright red aura as it saw its target. As it flew towards the thief’s monster; the thief laughed.

“My monster is in Defense Position; my Life Points are safe!”

“Not so! When a monster equipped with Big Bang Shot attacks a Defense Position monster, it inflicts Piercing Damage. So in fact, your Life Points are wide open for over 3000 points of damage!

“No!” the thief screamed as the attack made contact and the vicinity was swallowed by flames. (Thief Life Points: 3000 → 0) The force of the explosion blew out all the remaining windows. On the other side of the arena, the holograms faded; but the area was different. Instead of there being no trace of their duel, where the thief had been standing, there were fresh burn marks and noticeable damage to the pillars and walls.

“Phil-kun...you didn’t...did you...?” Akira asked nervously.

“I guess I just got a little too serious about protecting you.” Philip responded.

“Protecting me?”

“He was a threat to us. And I’m responsible for you, technically.”

“I guess...” said Akira, not really knowing what to say.

“Well, the emergency services will be along shortly, and unless you want to sit through some awkward questions, I suggest we leave prudently.”

“Right!”

The two exited the building through one of the many holes in the wall on the development side and slipped past the police cars now approaching the building. As Akira looked back, he became increasingly unsure about Philip. This man was capable of destroying whole buildings but wouldn’t lay a hand on a friend. Akira began to wonder whether Philip’s view of ‘protection’ was rather distorted.
Phase 3: Of Batteries and Dragons

Trans. Jap.: Batterymen or Red-Eyes?!]

“…As for the recent history section of the exam…Chizuru, wake up!” The young woman shot up, understandably startled by the direct statement.

“Sorry sensei.” Chizuru sighed, already falling back to sleep. A prod in her side brought her back to reality. Several, harder jabs made her look over to the boy sitting next to her.

“Stop it Ken.” She mumbled, not getting up. “It’s just revision...” The pokes continued until she sat up.

“Oh good, you’re awake.” He said sarcastically.

“If I wasn’t so tired, I would slap you, you know.”

“I know.” With more than a hint in his voice of the enjoyment he was experiencing from his annoying pursuits.

Twenty minutes later, the bell rang to end class. As they exited the classroom, Chizuru asked Ken to turn around. Doing so, Chizuru did exactly what she had promised, and slapped him; rather hard.

“Ow!” he cried, “Seriously, ow!”

“I said I would.”

“You’re evil, you know that, right.” He replied, a lack of seriousness in his voice. Chizuru had the same smile as they concluded their teasing and headed for the school yard for lunch.

Crossing the school yard, the pair was caught by a shout of “Chizuru-kun!”

“Yes Rich-kun?” Chizuru replied, without looking back. The third child caught up with them, and bent over for breath.

“Rich-kun, you do know it’s ‘-chan’ for girls right?” asked Ken.

“What?!” said the startled student and pulled out his English to Japanese phrase book, searching the reference section. After finding his answer, a quiet “Oh yeah...” was heard.

“Go easy on him Ken; he’s doing pretty well for an American exchange. Usually they can say three phrases and that’s it.”

“You know Rich-kun; if telling ‘-chan’ and ‘-kun’ apart is too hard, you could always just refer to me as ‘Ken-sama’-“ A second slap ended Ken’s short ego trip. “Stop that!”

The trio continued to a bench near the school wall where Akira was already seated.

“Hi Akira-kun!” shouted Chizuru, clearly startling the boy.

“You’re alive!” said Richard.

“What are you talking about?” asked Akira, playing dumb.

“Well, you know, you’re last seen on the edge of the development and fifteen minutes later a building there pretty much blows up. A simple ‘jump-to-conclusions’ leads us to think you must be dead.”

“...Right...” replied Akira, rather confused by the whole affair.

After the group had finished eating, the conversation moved on, like it always did, to Duel Monsters; specifically, who of the four had the strongest Deck. And as always, it came down to Ken and Richard arguing over whether the “Batterymen” or “Red-Eyes” archetypes were better. Chizuru and Akira had learnt to stay out of it all.

“...Well, Red-Eyes Darkness would tear you batteries apart!”

“I’m thinking of a card...it’s called “Short Circuit” and it destroys all your monsters.”

“...”

“I don’t see why they can’t just duel.” Sighed Akira.

“That is a point...” Replied Chizuru, equally drained by the continual argument. “Ken, why can’t you two just duel to find out who’s best?”

“Because you can only do tag duels so the most number of people get to take part. And you two never want to join us.” Ken replied.

“If we join you, will you stop arguing?”

“Probably.” Said Richard.

“...That’s the best we’re going to get.” Sighed Akira.

“I guess.”

Atop the school, there was a large, glass-domed duel arena. When the four had got ready and entered the structure, the last duel was ending. One player in each of the tag teams had already lost and both the remaining players were low on Life Points.

“I activate my Sea Serpent Princess’ effect. I can Tribute it to Special Summon 1 Level 8 or lower Normal Sea Serpent-Type monster from my Deck. I choose my Spiral Serpent. (ATK 2900)!” The white serpentine beast rose out of a simulated waterspout and roared at its opponent.

“Now, Spiral Serpent, attack his Flamvell Uruquizas!” The oceanic beast let loose a twisting pulse of water, engulfing the fiery warrior. (Kid’s Life Points: 700 → 0)

“Well now I really want to duel you guys!” said Richard excitedly.

“One last thing; who goes with who?” asked Ken.

“I don’t mind.” Replied Akira.

“Fine. Akira-kun’s with Ken and I’m with Rich-Kun. Okay?”

“Alright!”

The four took their positions at either end of the marked duel arena.

“Duel!”
Phase 4: School Duel Part 1

Trans. Jap.: 3400 ATK Level 5?! Super Electromagnetic Voltech Dragon!]

“Duel!”

Turn 1

“Well, let’s begin.” Said Chizuru, drawing her first card.

“I summon my Telekinetic Shocker (EARTH/Level 4/Psychic/ATK 1700/DEF 700) in Attack Position.

“Now I activate Wave-Motion Cannon and Magic Reflector. The latter puts 1 counter on the former to prevent its destruction once. I end my turn.”

“You know, Chizuru, I don’t think I’ve ever actually seen you duel or most of the cards in your Deck.” Mentioned Ken.

“Well, then, I guess you will have to think on your feet.”

“I know...” he replied, drawing.

“I summon my Batteryman AA (LIGHT/Level 3/Thunder/ATK 0/DEF 0) in Defense Position and set 1 card face-down.”

“My turn!” eagerly cried Richard, drawing vigorously.

“First, I’ll activate Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your face-down card, Ken.” A deep blue vaporous tornado lanced out and whipped away Ken’s card.”

“And now I’ll summon my Totem Dragon (EARTH/Level 2/Dragon/ATK 400/DEF 200) in Defense Position. I end my turn.”

“My turn.”

“I summon Mrs. Lovett (DARK/Level 2/Fiend/ATK 400/DEF 800) in Defense Position. Then, I activate Whitechapel from my hand.” As Akira did so, the area changed from a sunlit rooftop to a dark, cobbled street from Victorian London. “This Field Spell raises all “Victorian” monsters’ ATK and DEF by 400. That ends my turn.

Turn 2

“You know Akira-kun, I’ve always thought you took your obsession with England too far. Now I know you do take it too far...” Chizuru sighed as she drew.

“I Tribute my Telekinetic Shocker to summon my Psychic Emperor! (EARTH/Level 6/Psychic/ATK 2400/ DEF 1000)” Telekinetic Shocker was engulfed in a green light before being replaced by the stronger monster, a levitating old man with machinery connected to parts of his body.

“Psychic Emperor, when it is Summoned, restores my Life Points by 500 for every Psychic-Type monster in my Graveyard. Since there is only one, I gain 500. (Chizuru Life Points: 4000 → 4500)

“I end my turn.” As she said that, unseen to the other players, a dial behind the barrel of her Wave-Motion Cannon increased by one level.

“Time to make things interesting!” declared Ken.

“I’ll tribute my Batteryman AA to summon my Super EM Voltech Dragon (LIGHT/Level 5/Thunder/ATK 2400/DEF 1000)! And since it was summoned by Tributing a “Batteryman” monster, it gains an added effect. Since I tributed Batteryman AA, my dragon gains 1000 ATK! (Super EM Voltech Dragon ATK: 2400 → 3400)

“Now, attack Chizuru’s Psychic Emperor!” The electronic wyvern soared and released a glowing pulse of golden energy, wiping out Chizuru’s monster. (Chizuru Life Points: 4500 → 3500)

“And that’s not all. I’ll activate Battery Charger to Special Summon my Batteryman AA back to the field (DEF: 0). That’s it for now.”

“What a lucky draw, Ken-chan-“ started Richard.

“-kun!” interrupted the other three.

“Whatever, my turn!” Looking at his drawn card, a clear smile appeared on his face.

“I activate Ancient Rules in my hand to Special Summon my drawn Red-Eyes Black Dragon! (DARK/Level 7/Dragon/ATK 2400/DEF 2000)” As he did, the famous dark dragon rose up and screeched loudly.

“And I’ll summon a second dragon, my Vanguard of the Dragon! (EARTH/Level 4/Dragon/ATK 1700/DEF 1200) This monster’s effect means I can send 1 Dragon-Type monster in my hand to my Graveyard to increase its ATK by 300 points. And I send my Red-Eyes Black Chick to the Graveyard. (Vanguard of the Dragon ATK 1700 → 2000)

“Now Vanguard, destroy Akira’s monster!” The dragonic beast speared through the Victorian fiend, destroying it instantly.

“Now that your field is wide-open-“ Richard cut himself off when he noticed a ghostly apparition circling around Akira.

“What the heck is that?!”

“Oh this? A Villainy Token, summoned by Whitechapel’s effect when my monster was destroyed. I think it’s probably fair to warn you that if you destroy it, you’ll be the one taking the damage...”

“Hmm. In that case, Red-Eyes; destroy his Batteryman AA!” The black dragon reared up and launched a blazing fireball, engulfing the electrical monster. That ends my turn.”

“Right. My turn!”

“Excellent. I summon Junk Synchron, in Attack Position (DARK/Level 3/Warrior/Tuner/ATK 1300/DEF 500)

“Why have you got a Warrior-Type in a Fiend Deck?” asked Ken.

“Because my Deck can cater for all DARK monsters, it just excels at Fiends.”

“Now, Junk Synchron’s effect, I can Special Summon a Level 2 or lower monster from my Graveyard in Defense Position. And I choose Mrs. Lovett.”

“I tune my Junk Synchron and Mrs. Lovett.”

Dark justice descend. Bring to us warped retribution. Synchro Summon! Ally of Justice Catastor!

As the chant was recited, the Synchro Materials disappeared and were replaced with a spider-like mechanical being, Catastor. (DARK/Level 5/Machine/Synchro/ATK 2200/DEF 1200)

“I attack your Vanguard of the Dragon. Catastor’s effect means that if it attacks a non-DARK monster, that monster is immediately destroyed!” The Ally of Justice locked onto its target and shot through it with a powerful laser beam.

“Turn end.”

Turn 3

“I didn’t know you carried an Ally of Justice in that Deck of yours, Akira-kun.”

“Well, seeing as I don’t know any of the cards in your Deck, Chizuru-chan, I think it’s fair to have a few surprises of my own.” Chizuru laughed slightly as she drew her card.

“I summon Krebons (DARK/Level 2/Fiend/ATK 1200/DEF 400) in Attack Position and end my turn.” Once again, the dial on her Wave-Motion Cannon increased.

“Okay.”

“I attack your Krebons with my Super EM Dragon.” Declared Ken.

“I activate Krebons’ effect. If this card is targeted, I can pay 800 Life Points to negate the attack.” (Chizuru Life Points: 3500 → 2700) As the electric dragon launched its attack, the psychic mutant simply jumped out of the way before returning to its original position.

“Irritating. I set 1 card face-down and end my turn.”

“My turn!” As Richard looked over to his drawn card, he could barely control his elation. “I drew it! Yes!”

“I Tribute my Red-Eyes Black Dragon in order to Summon my Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon! (DARK/Level 9/Dragon/ATK 2400/DEF 2000)

“Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon’s effect increases its ATK by 300 for every dragon in my Graveyard. And since there are 3, my dragon gains 900 ATK!” (Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon ATK: 2400 → 3300)

“But that’s not all, I also activate the Field Spell Card Mystic Plasma Zone.” The Victorian landscape was washed away by a flood of black and purple energies. “Mystic Plasma Zone increases all DARK monster’s ATK by 500 while sacrificing 400 DEF.”

(Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon ATK: 3800/DEF: 1600 : Ally of Justice Catastor ATK: 2700/DEF: 800 : Krebons ATK 1700/DEF 0)

“Now Red-Eyes, blow that electric dragon away!” The beast obeyed and launched a crimson fireball at Ken’s monster, obliterating it. (Ken Life Points: 4000 → 3600)

“Your most powerful monster is gone. I told you my Red-Eyes will always triumph over your batteries.

“It’s not over yet. My turn!” Retorted Akira.

“I summon Evil Hero Infernal Gainer in Defense Position.” (DARK/Level 4/Fiend/ATK 2000/DEF 0)

“And I attack your Totem Dragon with Catastor, and with its effect, your dragon is destroyed instantly.”

“Perhaps, but remember that powers up my Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon (ATK: 4100). I was going to Tribute it at some point, so it would have gone to the Graveyard regardless!”

“Face it. You can’t win against this monster!”
Phase 5: School Duel Part 2

Trans. Jap.: Red-Eyes Darkness! Unbeatable?!]

Turn 4

“Face it. You can’t win against my beast!” Richard shouted as his Red-Eyes roared behind him.

Chizuru sighed slightly as she saw her team-mate start to go hyper. On the other side, Akira and Ken were clearly looking desperately for a way to stop the 4100 ATK occult dragon from wiping them out.

“Draw.”

“I summon Aussa the Earth Charmer and now tune it with my Krebons.”

Angel of mind and body, descend to rid the world of those without your power. Synchro Summon! Magical Android!

The bizarre white creature appeared in blaze of light, surrounded by an unnerving aura.

“Magical Android attacks you directly Ken!” said Chizuru as her monster readied a blast of psychic power.

“I activate Scapegoat!” cried Ken as the four gormless-looking tokens materialised. One was instantly obliterated by Magical Android’s attack.

“Good move. If I can’t harm your Life Points, at least I can replenish my own. Magical Android’s effect. During my End Phase, I gain 800 Life Points for every Psychic-Type monster I control. (Chizuru Life Points: 2700 → 3500) I end my turn.” As she said that, the dial on her Wave-Motion Cannon rose once again. “Only a short time now.” She thought.

“My turn, draw!” said Ken, slightly daunted, considering his position.

“Unfortunately, since I’ve activated Scapegoat this turn, I can’t summon. So I have to end there.”

“This is easy!” Richard cried ecstatically, becoming far too excited. “I draw.”

“Now, Red-Eyes, burn his Sheep Token to ash!” The dragon charged and fired a blazing crimson fireball, engulfing Ken’s second Sheep Token. “Only two left, Ken...” Richard taunted. “I end.”

“Draw!” As he did, Akira could feel sweat; but he tried to dismiss it as being too hot.

“I summon Prometheus, King of the Shadows!” (DARK/Level 4/Fiend/ATK 1200/DEF 800) “Due to your Mystic Plasma Zone, Rich-kun, my monster gains an extra 500 ATK (Prometheus ATK: 1700). Now I’ll activate his effect. I can remove any number of DARK monsters in my Graveyard from play to Prometheus to gain 400 ATK for each of them! I empty my Graveyard to raise my monster’s ATK to 2900! Attack Magical Android!”

The dark fiend collected shadowy energies between his palms before launching a pitch-black sphere at Chizuru’s monster. The attack swallowed the opponent before detonating. (Chizuru Life Points: 3500 → 3000) “I set 1 card, and with that I end.”

Turn 5

“Very well, Akira-kun. Draw.” Once again, the level of power in Chizuru’s cannon grew. “Perfect.” She said softly.

“Akira-kun, since this is technically a duel between Richard and Ken, I think one of us should get out of it as quickly as possible.”

“Agreed.” Replied Akira, completely oblivious to Chizuru’s scheming.

“Glad you agree. Wave Motion Cannon, fire!” The cannon aimed directly at Akira before losing a blast of energy so powerful it tore itself apart. The blast hit home and Akira cried out, more from the shock, since the holograms were not set to cause any physical pain. (Akira Life Points: 4000 → 0)

“Oh my.” Gasped Ken, realising he’d just seen his tag-team partner wiped out in one move. Even Richard looked over to Chizuru, stunned that she could have slipped such a powerful move past him.

“I’m surprised you guys never asked to look at my Deck, you would have seen that card otherwise.”

“But Chizuru, why did you attack Akira-...kun?”

“Both he and I want you to stop this squabbling, so the sooner this duel is over the better. And if I’d taken out Ken, then you would have started moaning...” Ken looked over to Akira, who was now sitting on the side of the duel arena, beaming.

“Thanks, Chizuru-san!”

“You’re welcome Akira-kun!” Ken and Richard looked across at each other, not really understanding their friends’ actions.

“If you two are ready to continue, I believe it’s still my turn. I summon Destructotron, which attacks one of your two remaining Sheep Tokens Ken.” The mechanical mutant shot off numerous blasts of psychic energy, warping before ultimately destroying the fluff-ball. “I set one card, and end my turn.” With that, Destructotron’s ability kicked in and the mutant was destroyed.

Ken was wishing for a summonable monster, or at least something to get one into his hand. As he drew, he smiled slightly.

“I summon my Light Effigy in Defense Position, set a card, and end my turn.” He said, slightly exhausted from the stress.

“I draw...and I think you know what’s coming next Ken. Red-Eyes attacks your final Sheep Token, finally getting rid of them.” A second blazing fireball consumed the sole remaining token, destroying it. I end. You know, this is fun.” Richard laughed, his last sentence drawing a glare from Ken.

Turn 6

“I suppose this is drawing to a close.” Remarked Chizuru as she drew. Looking at her hand, she sighed. “I set one card face-down and end my turn.”

“Please let me draw a good card...” Ken repeated to himself as he reached for his Deck. He drew, looked at the card and immediately smiled. “Okay. I tribute my Light Effigy to summon my Batteryman Charger (LIGHT/Level 5/Thunder/ATK 1800/DEF 1200) and since I’ve summoned a Thunder-Type monster, I can activate Judgement of Thunder! This destroys 1 card my opponent controls. I choose your ‘mighty’ dragon Rich-kun.” Ken pointed at Red-Eyes Darkness Dragon as a series of electrical pulses lanced out and into the beast.

“Red-Eyes!” Richard cried as the monster broke up.

“I’ve yet to attack by the way. But first I’ll special summon Batteryman Industrial Strength (LIGHT/Level 8/Thunder/ATK 2600/DEF 0) by removing two Batterymen from my Graveyard. And now, they both attack directly!” The pair of electric monsters let loose a plume of electrical energy which cascaded onto their opponent. (Richard Life Points: 4000 → 0).

“Well I’m happy with that result. Rich-kun lost to Ken.” Reasoned Chizuru.

“I guess there’s not much point for us to continue, unless you want to.” Replied Ken.

“I’m fine. And anyway, I’m sure other people want to get on.” The quartet left the arena and headed for the stairs that led back to the school yard.

From a rooftop not too far away, a shadowy figure observed the group until they went out of view.

“Perhaps I’ve found them.” He thought to himself.
Phase 2]
Effect: You can Special Summon this card from your hand or Deck while you control a face-up "Sweeny Todd". This card is treated as a "Victorian" monster. As long as you control a face-up "Sweeny Todd", this card cannot be destroyed by battle. (Damage calculation is applied normally.) When you receive Battle Damage from battles involving this card, add 1 DARK monster to your hand from your Deck whose ATK is equal to or less than the damage you took.
Effect: Activate only while you control "Gaia Power". Once per turn, select 1 EARTH Plant or Rock-Type monster you control. The selected monster gains 1000 ATK, until the end of the Battle Phase. During your End Phase, destroy the selected monster.
Phase 4]
119569.jpg

Effect: All "Victorian" monsters gain 400 ATK and DEF. Each time a "Victorian" monster you control is destroyed, Special Summon 1 "Villainy Token" (Fiend-Type/DARK/ Level ?/ATK: 0/DEF: 1000). This token’s Level is equal to the Level of the destroyed monster and cannot be Tributed, except by this card’s effect. When this token is destroyed, your opponent takes damage equal to the number of "Victorian" monsters in your Graveyard x 200. Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 "Villainy Token" you control to Special Summon 1 "Victorian" monster from your Deck whose Level is equal to or lower than the Level of the Tributed token.

Un/Forutnately I'm like that in real life lol. And Red-Eyes Versus batteryman...nice touch, but Inferno Reckless summon plus 3 blue eyes/darkness metals...lol nice touch max nice touch. Now how are you going to determine who wins? Maybe a vote?

I'm going to simulate the duel' date=' see who wins and then write it up.

[/quote']

so basically you write the whole thing, then post it, not just write as you post?

Yes. I'm surprised other people don't; since Word has a spell and grammar checker.

The duel is in three parts. I was going to split it into two parts, but then realised that 5 tag team turns would be really rather long. So I decided to go for three shorter chapters than two longer chapters.
