Do you know.....(Lock PRomblem SOLVED)

You know when you type something and if its before a letter and it deletes the letter infront of it, is there anyway to stop it? Its not happening now but I have another tab opened, its for a written set im making and thats happening there and its annoying.(Im not telling you what its going to be:D)

 

Example: I want to spell Chris so i do but I forgot the I (LOOKS LIKE THIS CHRS) so i click right after the R and put I BUT IT DELETES THE S, and now looks like this chri

You mean when you have your cursor before other letters, you type, and it replaces them with new ones? You're both talking about overtype. Just hit the key on your computer that says 'Insert'. That should fix your problem.
