Elle finally reached the building, succumbing to the wiles of public transportation to get there. In front of the building was a man in a black suit who seemed to recognize her. He approached her as she walked up to the entrance.

 

"Eleanor Marvin?" The man said, while bringing out his ID card. It checked out alright, everything was going according to the email she was sent.

 

Elle nodded in response. "That is me. So where are we going?" The email said nothing else but to follow this man's instructions.

 

The man pointed to a small red car parked in front of the building. It was tiny; it didn't even really have a backseat. Was this man going to drive her somewhere?

 

"I'll take you there, just get in." he replied, answering her mental question.

 

Elle did as instructed, but she was starting to feel uncomfortable. She had no idea where she was going, after all, nor why they couldn't give her the injection at any of the normal hospital. All this secrecy made it feel like she had just unwittingly walked into an ancient government conspiracy. She did not act upon her new fear, as conspiracies had a habit of making people they don't like 'disappear'.

Jason looked at Tyla, not missing the slight accent she used, although it was obvious that she was not English, at least not much. "Yes, I was accepted into this program, if that's how you want to put it." He gripped his armrests as the SUV accelerated. "Actually, to tell the truth, they threatened to pull me out of my job if I didn't cooperate with them. So there's not exactly anything else I could have done, right?"
