I am against school vouchers.

Why?

1. School vouchers weaken the public school system. More Vouchers = less kids in public school = less tax dollars go to public schools.

2. Encourages parents to use public schooling. Government regulated school means that everyone who is raised at least knows the same things, and they have the internet to see what they are lied to about if you want to look at it from the "Government lies to us" perspective.

3. Creates more unity in the public. The less private schools, and students that attend them, the more familiar the public is with each other. Children should not be separated by the religion their parents chose to follow and be schooled in a building where they are separated from other ideals.

4. I got this from wiki, but the intelligence of the students in private schools is about the same as those in public school, so in most schools, there not actually learning more, perhaps earlier on, but the test scores show the difference is not very much.

Discuss.

I have to say I'm againt these.

It allows people to isollate their children from other thus limiting the freedom of ideas.

It allows parents to censor what their children know. That is wrong on more than one level.

Privite schools are a waste of time anyway. I've met people who went to privite schools and they wee all dumbasses because they had not beeen exposed to the general public only others morons who had money as well.

For it, because if the Government controls what is students learn in public schools if you can force someone to listen to a certain opinion every day they may start to believe it particularly young minds which are easily molded, true the internet is out there but hey not everyone uses it/ has it plus if Government takes control of where students go to school what stops them from controlling what websites they can or cannot go to. Also private schools are not all "religous" I've heard of atheist private schools and there are some out there that teach with a higher standerd then just regular public schools. One thing I am against which makes me wish I could change my vote to the middle is that the parents have to get the voucher, why not just let them choose from the start without having to apply for some certificate?
