well, my favorite Jonas Brother [....] has decided to ditch the dumb, bone headed lyrics, get rid of the predictable power pop, get together with good musicians, and start writing R&B influenced Pop rock.

 

Defenition: Nick Jonas (the one with curly hair) stared a new band "Nick Jonas & The Aministration".

 

Now, I just heard the first single...and it's actually pretty good and diffrent (don't expect anything drastic, but it's better than anything he's done with the Jonas Brothers)

 

If you like good quality pop music, than this is for you (and it sounds ALOT like John Mayer), but if you by far detest anything that the mainstream feeds you, then back away.

 

anyway, here's the first single for the album.

I hate it. Nick Jonas is talentless dweeb' date=' and the lyrics are still god awful. [b']The rest of the band is talented,[/b] but god he sucks ass and is just taking the spotlight for himself.

I don't know who sucks more, this "band" (notice the quotes) or the Jonas Brothers.

 

I actually laugh at Thewho for making this thread. Stop flaunting your shitty taste in music on this particular forum. Opalmoon warns us for flaming at the band/user, when the user should not be an idiot and should know that the majority of this forum does not like the Hoeness Sisters, Dick Bonas or Milly Citrus.

 

Furthermore, a rule should be made preventing threads from being made that will ultimately lead to flaming.

 

Not trying to rule this forum, just trying to minimize idiocy.

Eh...I think he's a tiny bit better than with the Jonas Brothers, I'd say the style fits him better.

But he does need a lot of practice...:/ Can't expect someone of his age to be serious.

 

And it's true that he takes the whole spotlight away, I had to stop the vid and get back to count the NUMBER OF MEMBERS IN HIS BAND.

 

Meh bad song. The message is good but he needs singing courses and more... yeah just "more".@_@

No I LOLd at if the band broke up.. The T.V. show Jonas on Disney Channel... It's the boy version of Hannah Montana as in Boy version I mean the stars are boys instead of another Disney Channel show called Hannah Montana the *starts saying about a thousand insults*.

There's something wrong with this post, bro. Remember that this is NOT the Jonas Brothers (or what ever unfunny, overused insult you want to come up with) but another completely diffrent band (yeah, they do sound diffrent) just because one of the band members comes from something you hate, does not make the rest of the band automatically suck.

 

I made this thread to see if people actually listen to the music (which thank god some of you have!) or just went ahead and started flaming the ever loving crap out of it just because the name "Jonas" is attached to it.

 

Why do you hate everything that comes from disney anyway?

Hey if the guy wants to sell records [by advertising his "Jonas" name], let him! Yeah he might be into himself a bit to much, but does that take away from the song itself? Just like Bruce Springsteen or John Mayer were with their respective bands, Nick is just doing the same thing with his band. Hugging all the spotlight.

Bruce Springsteen wasn't as bad when he did it. Also yeah, it kinda does take away from the song. It makes the song sound more ironic than meaningful(the vocals don't help)

when he is hogging up all the limelight, and riding on his Disney fame by plugging in Nick Jonas in his their band name.

Give them 1 month, give them just one month. If Nick stays like this(which I bet he will) and the Administration will get sick of Nick and the band name. They'll kick em' out and change the name to "The Administration." Unless that's their plan to whole time? :o (doubt it...)

It's just they have to stop ignoring my 1,000's of emails of insults recommendation to take singing lessons, stop covering songs, and learn more than 3 chords and a few riffs.

Also to everyone else, just because you or I don't like the music doesn't mean it doesn't belong in the music section =v. There ARE other genres than metal. Also "The Who" is a great band.

it won't disappear" are good lyrics, what other choice do you have?

 

Look at Nick Jonas' audience for a second. Most of them are 12 year girls who don't know any better (haven't you seen the South Park episodes). He really doesn't need to aim for dark, obscure, introspective lyrics which I know you love.

This is Nick's band. Nick is Prince. Those other guys are the Revolution. Nick is Jack White and everyone else is Meg. Without Nick, their nothing.

 

He writes and composes all the songs. It doesn't matter who backs him up because he's the creative force. He could have just gone solo and have only his on the CD, but no, he decided to share the spotlight with some other talented musicians.

 

and there's NOTHING wrong with the dude's voice. Everyone has their own singing style; that's just his. You want to hear something shitty? listen to the Jonas Brother's early records.

That's the attitude I'm talking about, Nick is simply a member. Who cares if he writes the lyrics(which you have admitted is subpar). Serj from SOAD writes the lyrics but so can Daron and Shavo. Yeah Jonas Brothers is worse but asking me "Hey I killed a man, but I didn't kill a baby." they're both bad, obviously killing the baby is worse but that doesn't make killing a man good.

 

Also that last sentence was more of a positive thing, if he improved his vocals and the guitarist didn't sound like he came out of "My first guitar chorus" page 42 to 58 than they would be enjoyable.

They're not writing freggin' metal riffs here. You don't need to throw in a bunch of complex chords to make a good song. I don't get why people immediately hate a song just because the musicianship in it isn't stellar.

 

I'm not talking about it being complex or have to be some unheard of Eaug9 or something, but playing the most common 80's chorus does not make a song. Especially(I hope he doesn't) do it for every song(I can name a few bands that do this, Jonas Brothers included).

 

Also some 'R&B' inspired chords would make some sense.
