After nine straight hours of work It is finally done. Please, enjoy yourselves.

[spoiler=Plot] The emperor is a husk, kept alive only by the thousands of souls sacrificed to him daily. The human Imperium is becoming more and more desperate as the war wages on. The forces of Chaos press ever more vigorously deeper and deeper into Imperium Territory. Even the slightest comment not in the favor of the Imperium will undoubtedly send one to the dungeons of the Inquisition. The Imperial Guard fights valiantly, no longer to conquer but to defend. Even in their vast numbers, they are no match for the forces of chaos and die by the thousand every day. The Space marines and Sisters of Battle fight with greater and greater fervor as they hold the line against the forces of chaos. No matter how many of them die, they will fight until the last soldier falls. The Ordo Malleus, the fist of the Inquisition, has had the vast majority of it's soldiers placed in permanent garrisons across the various worlds that were the front lines. Only the equivalent of a chapter of Space Marines remained behind. They were under the command of a single High Inquisitor, whose name and face were unknown.

Driven to the Height of their desperation, a small number of Imperium scientists hatched a plan for a new weapon of mass destruction, one that would Equal the power that the emperor had wielded himself on the battlefield. They decided to use their enemy's strengths against them and through false-worship managed to convince the Chaos Gods to give to them a small sample of their blood. Basing themselves out of an abandoned research installation orbiting Holy Terra, they began their work. Having obtained the blood, they kept up the act of allegiance to Chaos while they worked furiously to create a viable life form from the blood. After exactly 9767 failed tries, they were successful. A living being, created in the form of a Human, was born from the blood. Initially he was classified as experiment number 9768. However after realizing they had finally reached success, they gave to this being the name they had taken up for their project. Super Human Annihilation Device Overwhelming the Warp or S.H.A.D.O.W. Project S.H.A.D.O.W. was taken in by the lead scientist, John Verhast, who raised him as his own, along with his daughter Julie. Soon after the third year since the final achievement of project S.H.A.D.O.W. The scientists broke off their worship of the chaos gods. They dismantled their altars of chaos and once more erected altars to the Emperor.

Seventeen years passed and project S.H.A.D.O.W., as he insisted he be called, had grown to become a very handsome young man. Ever since the day he could stand and fight he had been tested in battle against every foe that would face him. Captured chaos space marines, entire squads of Space Marine Terminators, even three Dreadnoughts at once. Every foe that rose to face him fell down in defeat, those that served the Imperium he spared. John Verhast, the man he regarded his father, had raised him to be a compassionate being, but countless tests had made him a force to be reckoned with in battle. He possessed a few of the powers of those who might have at one time been his fathers. From Khorne he inherited incredible strength, from Nurgle he gained control of every blight known to man, from Slaanesh he gained the ability to shape shift into whatever form his foes would find the most "appealing", and from Tzeentch he inherited the power to influence the fortune of those around him.

It was during this twentieth year of his life that the High Inquisitor who commanded the remaining Grey Knights discovered this blasphemy against the Emperor. He sent the mightiest of Grand Masters, commanding a total of thirty Terminators, to go and destroy the root of this Blasphemy. The Grand Master arrived at the satellite research installation while most, including project S.H.A.D.O.W. himself were asleep. They swept through the installation. Not a single person was left alive, with on exception. Julie Verhast had hidden in a secure cell, which had been used to house failed experiments while they awaited destruction. Project S.H.A.D.O.W. awoke when he sensed her fear and rushed to her side. He arrived just in time to see the Grand Master drive his power sword through her small and feeble human body. Project S.H.A.D.O.W. lost touch with everything he had learned about being human and rushed the grand master. He stole the Grey Knight's power sword and tore the bastard in half with it. He then swept through the satellite like a plague, slaughtering every last one of them.

Now, ten years after that day he still resides within that Satellite which was sent via remote control on a course towards the outer solar system. The forces of Chaos rush to claim the Son of their gods to finally strike down the Imperium. The Imperium forces rush to stop them by any means necessary. You are either a lord of chaos, or a commander of one of the Imperium forces. Your mission is to find Project S.H.A.D.O.W. and either turn him tom your cause, or prevent the other side from doing the same. What are you waiting for Soldier? Get out there and complete your objective!

Factions:

Imperium:

[spoiler=Imperial Guard] The imperial guard are the foot soldiers and cannon fodder of the Imperium forces. They are barely trained in combat and sent into situations with impossible odds against them.

Their primary battlefield commanders are the fearsome Commissars, battle zealous leaders ready to lead troops to certain death. They fight like demons and have about as much reason. "By the Book" Commissars take these virtues to the extreme. Commissars receive slight mechanical enhancements, allowing them to do greater damage than normal. Commissars are immediately noticeable by the pitch black heavy trench coat they wear.

Another common battlefield commander is the Techpriest Engineseer. Mostly a battlefield mechanic of sorts, the Techpriest is still a formidable fighter. Often having a wide variety of mechanical enhancements they are capable of dealing vast damage in combat, while being able to repair almost anything. Automatically noticeable by the two to four robotic arms coming out of their backs, equipped mostly with tools utilized for repair but that are often deadly effective in combat as well.

Perhaps the most well protected of battlefield commanders is none other than, you guessed it, the Commander. Easily recognizable by their full suit of carapace armor, the Commanders are the only ones likely to survive a battle that the I.G. enters. They are armed typically with a bolt pistol and a low-class power sword. Commanders are often incredibly skilled in fighting because they've survived going from being a basic guardsman all the way to the top of the battlefield food chain.

[spoiler=Units] All imperial Guard commanders are capable of commanding a squad of any of the units listed below.

Guardsmen: 20 man squad, armed with Lasguns and fair shots, Guardsmen are the workhorses of the IG. They are not well armored, but they can take a few hits.

Storm Troopers: 15 man squad, armed primarily with Hellguns (essentially high powered lasers), but capable of carrying special weapons such as the Flamer or Meltagun.

Ogryn: 5 man squad, armed with heavy weapons such as Bolters and grenade launchers. These guys have little armor but can take a hell of a lot of hits. The reason? They're mutated humans that are essentially the Incredible hulk's illegitimate children.

Leman Russ: 1 tank, the Imperial guard's main battle tank. Capable of laying down decimating fire upon the enemy, these are capable of being commanded in addition to a squad of Infantry.

[spoiler=Space Marines]

The space marines are the Imperium's male elite fighters. They're basically what you get when you outfit a bunch of monks with armor, relatively heavy weaponry, and a butt-load of mechanical enhancements.

The most enigmatic and easily recognizable battlefield commander of the Space Marines is the Force Commander. The Force Commander is one guy you do not want to mess with. Armed with anything from a Chain Sword to a Demon Hammer they are easily the deadliest fighters the Imperium has to offer as far as melee. Capable of calling in orbital strikes and protecting themselves with energy shields for a short time they are very annoying to kill. They are readily recognizable by their bright golden power armor.

Another of the Space Marine's Battlefield commanders is the Librarian. Much more powerful than his name may lead you to believe, the Librarian is the single most powerful psychic fighter in the space marines. While his armor may not be as heavy as the Force Commander's, he still carries enough to keep himself safe from the majority of infantry weapons. He is distinguishable by the massive staff he carries at all times.

The most fearsome of the Space Marine commanders is the Chaplain. He is a spiritual leader and as effective a close-combat specialist as the force commander. He wears power armor and is recognizable by the skull helmet he wears. He has the ability to shout a long string of curses to demoralize the enemy and send them running in terror. I kid you not.

[spoiler=Units] All Space Marine Commanders may control one squad of the units listed below.

Combat Squad: 15 marines. Armed with Bolters, up to three marines may carry special weapons. All are dead shots.

Assault Marines: 10 man squad. All armed with chain sword and plasma or bolt pistol. Have jet packs and may use them to jump long distances into battle.

Terminators: 5 man squad. Armed with a Power Fist and Storm Bolter, these are the Cream of the Crop. The most elite and powerful of Space Marine infantry. Downside is their heavy armor slows them down.

Dreadnought: 1 Mech. A fallen space marine who's spirit has been trapped within a large Mech. Stocky legs and a wide body make this unmistakable. Armed with a power fist on one arm, the other arm boasts a Storm Bolter and Flamer. This unit can be controlled in addition to a squad of Infantry.

[spoiler= Sisters of Battle] The female equivalent of space marines, the sisters of battle have the honor of being given the derogatory name "Nuns with Guns".

The highest ranking commander of the Sisters of Battle is the Prioress. She is armed commonly with two one-handed power weapons. She is recognizable by her heavily adorned power armor and is a proficient melee fighter.

The Canoness is the most familiar of the Sisters of Battle commanders. The equivalent of a Space Marine force commander in armament, she usually carries a power weapon and Bolt Pistol. She is not capable of calling in an orbital strike, but her unrelenting courage makes her still quite the force to be reckoned with.

The most driven and arguably psychotic of the Sisters of Battle commanders is the Sisters Repentia Mistress. A zealot wielding two power whips, she is the deadliest of all the Adeptus Soritas Commanders in melee combat. The whips are the real distinguishing feature.

[spoiler=units] All Sisters of Battle commanders are capable of commanding one squad of any of these units.

Battle Sisters: 15 woman squad. Primary soldiers of the Sisters of Battle. They are equipped with Bolters and up to three of them may carry a special weapon (i.e. Heavy Bolters, Flamers, etc.)

Sisters Repentia: 10 woman squad. Sisters equipped with assault weapons. These are the melee fighters of the Adeptus Soritas. Their prowess in melee combat is surpassed only by the mistress, as far as the Adeptus Soritas goes.

Celestians: 5 woman squad. The Celestians are the equivalent of Terminators for the Adeptus Soritas. All five are capable of carrying any special weapon. They are deadly accurate and will not hesitate to use lethal force.

Penetant Engine: 1 Mech. A tall humanoid walker of a Mech, the Penetant Engine is a Sisters of Battle trademark. Two arms attached to the cylindrical torso each carry a Heavy Flamer.

Chaos:

[spoiler=Commanders] Chaos is the primary force of opposition to the Imperium. Despite the Emperor's power, the Chaos Gods have strength that he could never have hoped to possess.

There are only two True Commanders the Chaos Lord is the first of these. He is a master of melee combat on par with the Force Commander. The Chaos Lord often carries a gigantic two-handed mace which consists of two circles intertwined in such a way to make a sort of sphere. The Chaos Lord is recognizable by his heavy and ornate armor.

The Chaos Sorcerer is the second of these commanders. A master of the art of summoning the powers of chaos to do his bidding, the Chaos Sorcerer can cause massive damage to or destroy massive amounts of enemies before they can get off a shot. The Chaos Sorcerer can unleash the powers of chaos to deal massive damage directly to enemies. He may also unleash the forces of chaos to bind his enemies in place and deal damage over time. He is identifiable by his stave, atop which is the emblem of the god he serves usually.

[spoiler=units] Both commanders may control any squad of the units listed below.

Chaos Space Marine: 15 man squad. Basic soldiers of chaos, come equipped with Bolters, but up to three may carry Heavy Bolters or Plasma Pistols.

Special unit: 10 man squad. Whatever special unit your Chaos Alignment gives you.

Obliterators: 3 man squad. A walking arsenal of any weapon imaginable. Their arms morph with Chaotic energies into the weapon that is needed to fire. This can be a Lascannon, Heavy Bolter, Plasma gun, Melta Gun, or even Flamer. These guys are Nasty and you only need three.

Defiler: 1 Mech. The Chaos trademark Mech. It resembles the torso of a Dreadnought jammed on top of a six-legged crablike walking platform. It is normally equipped with a Power Claw on one arm, a Storm Bolter and flamer on the other arm, and a Battle Cannon in the chest. This can be controlled along with a squad of any of the above listed units.

Chaos Gods:

[spoiler=Khorne, God of Blood] Those who serve Khorne receive a great boost to their strength and melee combat abilities. They also become battle-loving fighters who are rarely calm. Khorne is the Enemy of Slaanesh

Special Unit: Khorne Berserkers: These are the most powerful of all Chaos melee infantry. They Dual-wield one handed power Axes capable of tearing through most armor with ease and themselves wear heavy armor, making them very difficult to Kill. They always shout "Blood for the Blood God!" upon entering battle.

[spoiler=Nurgle, God of Plagues] Those serving Nurgle become increasingly difficult to kill, having massively greater tolerance for pain due to numbing of the nerves through disease. There is also the downside of becoming horribly disfigured due to infections. Nurgle is the Enemy of Tzeentch.

Special Unit: Plague Marines: These are perhaps not the strongest special unit, but they are probably the hardest to kill. They can withstand massive amounts of pain that would cripple any other marine. If they are killed in melee there is a chance for their killer to become infected with a plague.

[spoiler=Tzeentch, God of Change] Those that serve Tzeentch have massively increased skill with magic and are usually incredibly skilled in espionage and subtlety. Tzeentch is the Enemy of Nurgle

Special Unit: Rubric Marines: These marines have been left completely mindless and have no will of their own. They will not fall victim to attempts to break their moral, as they have none. They will keep fighting until their bodies are broken and slain.

[spoiler=Slaanesh, God/Goddess of Pleasure] Those who serve Slaanesh revel in sensory excess, taking pleasure in all the sinful arts of the world. They often are made more beautiful or handsome by the influence of his powers. They seek to kill their foes in the most vile and painful ways possible.

Special Unit: Noise Marines: These marines are a particular oddity among chaos. They wield weapons which do not fire metal or plasma, but sound. They delight in creating these loud noises and sending foes to their deaths in this manner. For them there is no greater pleasure.

[spoiler=Rules]

1.All YCM rules Apply.

2.No short posting, I would like at least five sentences per post.

3.No God modding.

4.Have Fun

5.BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD!

6.You may choose to go without Infantry. If you wish to do so put in N/A for the app.

7. Only ONE squad of infantry per Commander.

8.If your character dies, you may make a new one, just PM me the app and I'll let you know it it's accepted or not.

9. You may have no more than two characters at any given time, and if you have two I would prefer it if you were active on both of them. However this will not be a requirement.

10. Reservations are not necessary, there can be multiple players per faction. However, if the faction you wish to play as is overpopulated I would appreciate it if you chose a different faction.

11. If you know of a different vehicle or infantry squad from the WH40K universe, feel free to place them down as what you command with a side note. Nothing outlandish though, for example a Chaos lord cannot command a Dreadnought or Leman Russ and a Force Commander may not command a Defiler or Soulgrinder.

But Kurohime secretly has doubt in her heart as part of her is conflicted between the teachings of her God-Emperor and the commandments of her superiors in the Ecclesiarchy, which seem to conflict with each other.

Part of this has to do with the open-mindedness of part of her precept's congregation.

In the Tau Empire lies the premier Gue'vesa commander, Shas'O Gue'vesa'O T'ros Ter're Tol'Tash'Var M'Yen'Shi Nan'Ka, one of the few Humans who can pilot a Tau Battlemech and Kurohime's fierce rival. My one and only problem is that you seem to have misinterpreted one of the key rules. I'll go back and change it later but Each commander of every faction is allowed only One squad of infantry under their command. Furthermore, and I apologize for this as you obviously have a vast knowledge of WH40k vehicles, each commander is allowed only One Vehicle under their command. I ask only that you make these small changes and you shall be Accepted. By the way, the whole rule #5 thing was just to make sure you read them, and yes I know that the rule of having only one squad of infantry was not in with the rules themselves, but was listed above the "Units" list for each faction. By the way, Sisters of Battle get the Penitent Engine and Chaos gets the Defiler.

Name: Commander Darius Solis

Gender: Male

Faction: Space Marines

Chapter: Imperial Fists

Infantry Under Command: 1 Combat Squad (2x Heavy Bolter, 1x Rocket Launcher)

Using Armored Vehicle: Rhino

What is rule number 5?: Rule 5 is completely wrong! Praise the Emperor!

Bio: Young, yet experienced, he is the Force Commander of the Imperial Fists. He has a deep hatred of the Chaos, because his father, who had just become a Force Commander of the Imperial Fists, was killed by the Chaos. Enraged, he slammed into the killer and punched him until his death. A few months later, after surviving many battles, he became the Force Commander of the Imperial Fists.

Appearance: From a normal point of view, he looks like a normal Force Commander, but if you look closely, for example at his vambraces, you can see a bolter barrel in one and a switchblade in the other.

Personality: Very serious, but he can take a joke. He loathes the Chaos for killing his father.

Unique Traits/Weaponry: Hidden bolter, hidden switchblade, melter instead of the normal bolt pistol

My only problem with your app is that you seem to have made it very brief, I will accept it but I would like to see some very significant post length and detail from you.

OOC: Alright, there are now two chaos and two Imperium characters. We can start whenever one of you wishes to be the first to post, and by the way YRPOtaku169, I accepted your Demon Princess on the grounds that you will not abuse the power I am allowing you to have. I'm going to go ahead and drop the first post now so that y'all can have the first setting upon which this takes place.

IC: The space station had been on a preset course for the outer solar system for many years now. The entire station bore the wear of meteor impacts across it's whole, as the energy shield which had protected it had long ago burnt out. Gone were the emblems of the Imperium, thrown from the station by the impacts which had wrought such damage to it's armored surface. The hangar bay, however, was still in perfect functioning order. The doors and mechanisms seemed to have been left untouched by the ravages of space. Inside it was much the same, not a single piece of anything within the station itself had felt the ravages of time, but that is not to say that all is as it was. The stench of death and decay fills the air throughout the entire installation, and the armored corpses of fallen Gray Knights can be seen laying upon the ground, or impaled by their own power glaives and hung upon the walls. Many more corpses litter the ground, some having slight cybernetic enhancements but most those of mere humans wearing the long decayed clothing of scientists. The hallways are covered in long dried blood and cryptic, continually changing writings in the Daemon language. There are footprints left in the blood, footprints left by the same pair of unclad feet, even though some are slightly larger than others. Screams sent from the lips of various dying humans, those of scientists and Gray Knights alike, continually echo throughout the cursed halls. One stands out in particular, as it is not a horror-stricken scream. It is the calm, calculating voice of a Grandmaster asking a single question "What...what are you?" The question is always answered by the continuous echo of a young man's voice which instills all those who hear it with the slightest feeling of dread. "I...I am a monument...to all your sins."

Kurohime was bored.

Not because she didn't have anything to do (she had plenty of duties as Canoness Preceptor), but because there was no one to fight, not even in practice.

The Ultramarines were deployed all over the Ultima Segmentum, with about half of their Companies dropped on a planet called "Adaire IV", fighting off a splinter Hive Fleet of Hive Fleet Kraken.

Kurohime's rival, O'Ter're, was off exploring a massive artifact called "The Sphere", which was located deep in the Damocles Gulf, fighting through bands of Feral Orcs, the remnants of 3 Tyranid Hive Fleets, Chaos-alligned forces, irate Imperial colonial military, and Necrons, who seemed to be not only incredibly active but the builders of this giant construct.

And the only reports of "heresy" in her precept were so minor that she only needed to send a squad or two of Sororitas to deal with the psykers or rioters or revolutionaries.

She wanted to kill. She wanted to feel the satisfaction of firing a 120mm shell into the mouth of a Daemon Prince and saying some witty line as she did so. She wanted to get drenched in blood (later historians say that Kurohime would have made a great champion for Khorne) and wash away her worries, mainly about her desk work, with it. She wanted to find some excuse to deploy herself into some battle against an epic foe, like back when she was a Celestian, killing for some God-Emperor her parents had barely talked about. Of course their faith, or lack thereof, led to their demise and Kurohime's induction into the Schola Progenium, which was ironic, considering her background.

Now that Kurohime thought about it even more, she was a walking, talking paradox herself: the youngest Canoness Preceptor in known history, ever, and she barely believed in the God-Emperor anymore. She kept her feelings to herself, except when she was fighting O'Ter're. Another paradox: she was only comfortable in sharing her beliefs with an actual heretic.

Kurohime laughed as she thought of this, until Prioress Clare, Kurohime's aide-de-camp, came in.

"Canoness, you might want to read this."

Kurohime read the message, her eyes widening and a grin forming on her face as she did so.

"Canoness?" Clare asked as Kurohime put down the paper, a wide grin and wide eyes on her face.

"Pack your bags! I've been summoned to Ophelia VII!!! Something big is happening!!!!!"

Kurohime could barely contain her emotions as she ran to her quarters to prepare for the oncoming slaughter.

A slaughter she wanted badly to be at the front lines of.

Project S.H.A.D.O.W. was calmly seated upon a chair that had once been used by the scientists to observe experiments. He now sat upon it within the innermost room of the facility, which had once been the primary testing area. He had since converted it into a sort of private sanctum, bearing similarities to those of his fathers the Chaos gods. He had piled the skulls of all those who had been slain when the Gray Knights came around the chair in which he sat, making a sort of mock-skull throne. The area was filled with decay as many more corpses were set in this place rotting, not all of them but only Gray Knight corpses impaled upon their own weapons. It was also filled with continually changing features, mainly geysers bursting up which continually changed from water, to fire, to crystal, and often to another substance but more commonly only the first three. These geysers covered the majority of the floor. He was also surrounded by female lesser daemons that appeared different from the Daemonettes of Slaanesh. They often ran their hands over his exposed skin, feeling the well toned muscles of his body and giggling furiously. There were obviously enamored with him, though he showed little interest in them. "The powers of chaos are mine to control...yet I remain aboard this station...perhaps I will never understand why I choose to...but then.." He turned his head to look at a crystalline sarcophagus, in which was entombed the body of the girl he once called his sister. Julia Verhast's body was perfectly preserved right down to the clothes she had worn when she was slain. Even the wound from the power sword of the Grandmaster remained as it had, hardly even having any coagulated blood. Project S.H.A.D.O.W. sighed quietly, standing up from his makeshift throne and beginning to walk through the halls of the installation as he often did. In his head he heard the voices of the chaos gods calling to him, each urging him to go a different way. "Leave me be for once, I need time to think over what you have said to me." The voices in his head silenced at this, though thanks to his abilities inherited from Tzeentch he already knew that Slaanesh and the Changer were sending their servants to his home. He also knew of two Imperium commanders which were coming. "An interesting turn of events..." He continued to walk the hallways, his expression unchanging and his eyes ever glowing the deep crimson of blood. He would walk the halls for some time yet to come, perhaps one of those sent to his home would arrive while he still wandered.

A foul grin across the lips. Demiurge always found that his smiles either showed that he was pleased, or someone was about to be tortured.

Despite other Thousand Son Sorcerors, Demiurge never liked getting his hands dirty unless he needed to. He always watched from his own little tower, waiting patiently for anything new to learn.

In turn, slight thirsts for blood were met, but supressed. He couldn't take it out on his men, they didn't have a mind between them, just desecrated souls trapped within cold steel bodies.

'So very tiresome' he said with feigned lethargy. He was only tired of waiting.

Rising from his own throne, he marched across the room to peer out the window of his tower.

The hellish Planet of the Sorcerors was a boring place, there were so few things to see and do because of the chaos storm raging across it.

He smiled when he saw a small band crossing the wastelands. Many servants and champions rose in those wastes, the irony being that the champions are bought back into the Thousand Sons.

He ignored the window and returned to his throne. His chaos staff was leaning on a wall, the crooked sigil of Tzeentch united the two prongs.

'That thing is of no use but gathering dirt and dust' he said hollowly, walking over and claiming it. 'Soon though, something new is approaching, I can feel it in the warp' he whispered reassuringly.

Project S.H.A.D.O.W. was still wandering the blood caked halls of the installation at this time. He stopped for an instant, his eyes closing as he mentally reached out for something. It was revealed an instant later when two long silvery threads appeared in front of him. "So...one is coming now...the other chooses to wait..." He muttered this to himself as he reached out and twisted the left-most of the threads ever so slightly. He chuckled quietly as the repercussions of his alteration of fate echoed throughout the warp. "Lord Demiurge...it's time that you stop waiting. The other two though...now is not the time." He chuckled quietly, before the two threads vanished and he simply burst into a formless cloud of darkness which sent itself flying through the halls back to his private chambers. Upon reaching his makeshift throne, Project S.H.A.D.O.W. reformed once more into his body. The female daemons had left the room and he cared not where they had gone. He calmly took a seat upon his makeshift throne and closed his eyes. "Now...the only thing that remains is to wait..." He fell into a deep sleep, not because of any exhaustion of his body, but because the waiting would not take quite so long if he slept.

((Sorry. Been busy.))

Kurohime walked into the conference room.

"My sisters. You summoned me?"

The senior-most canoness attending, the Canoness Superior of the Order of the Bloody Rose, greeted Kurohime.

"Yes, please, sit. We were just about to begin the briefing.

Kurohime sat down, and reviewed the packets that had been passed out.

OOC: I see. I apologize if I came across as harsh.

IC: In his sleep, Project S.H.A.D.O.W. dreamed only in nightmares. Images of the day his life was forever changed passing through his mind over and over again. He tossed and turned about, unable to rest easy.

The female Daemons which accompanied him in the installation had since returned and were themselves asleep. Few things made them different from Slaanesh's Daemonettes but they were very obvious things. Their skin was bright crimson and their heads were adorned with Horns. They bore no weaponry, but their arms could mutate into horrific claws strong enough to cleave through most armor.

Project S.H.A.D.O.W. did not wake, even from his nightmares. It seemed as if he was determined to sleep until the time that those who were coming had arrived.

During the conference, Kurohime, along with the other Canonesses, was briefed on what the Imperium knew about Project S.H.A.D.O.W.

Which meant either what little they truly did know or what little they wanted the Battle Sisters to know.

Kurohime found herself thinking about ungrateful bureaucrats until she remembered where she was, and what that comment would mean.

But, as she tried to stray away from the thoughts of rebellion, sweet, sweet rebellion, she found her mind thinking about O'Ter're...

Lord Demiurge was seated on his throne, until a large cauldron of dire erupted into the form of a Horror. He eyed it carefully, until it made some odd warbling sounds. 'I see' Demiurge remarked and vanished in a cloud of purplish-crimson smoke.

He appeared before a large throne, kneeling in an uncouth fashion. Upon the throne was a fully-armoured Chaos Sorceror, one of great power as shown by his chair. 'You have arrived Lord Demiurge' the figure spoke. 'Indeed so, I received your message and am curious as to why you have called me' Demiurge replied. the figure shifted slightly in his chair. 'The brotherhood has learned of an abominable project the Imperial scum have produced. It is a being composed of the blood of the Chaos gods, created to destroy the forces of Chaos' the figure declared. 'How, I doubt the Imperials could form such a relationship with the gods in order to claim such a gift' Demiurge protested. 'Despite what has happened, we will be sending you and your forces in to deal with this, Project S.H.A.D.O.W' the figure spoke. 'I see' Demiurge said and vanished.

Project S.H.A.D.O.W. still slept, but his dreams were no longer nightmares. As they had so many times before, each of those who might have been his fathers tried to persuade him to join their side in the never-ending conflict. The two who pressed most heavily with their attempts to recruit him were Khorne and Slaanesh. For the most part, he simply ignored their offers. As always, this dream eventually came to an end and for the rest of the time he slept, it was without dream. He was determined not to awaken until those coming had arrived.

"I heard you're going off to this new artifact the Tau discovered."

"Yeah. It's called 'The Sphere'. REAL original name."

"How long will you be gone?"

"It's long-term deployment. I might be back in a couple of cycles."

"Please be careful."

"Yes, Kurohime...

"Kurohime..."

"Kurohime!"

Kurohime bolted up.

"Was the time on your voyage used in meditation?"

"Yes, Canoness."

"Then why are you fatigued? You should be mentally and physically recharged from such a long voyage."

"I'm sorry. I'll-"

"'Sorry' doesn't cut it here. You have one more chance to prove to us that you are able to complete this mission. Fail again, and we will find another Canoness to take your place."

"Yes, ma'am."

"Now, let us continue reviewing our potential allies and enemies..."
