Yeah, in random, daily life shows like Hayate, the plotted stuff is the filler.

Meanwhile as for me, last time I read Hayate, I left off...just after they went for a hike in the mountains and encountered a giant bear. I didn't read past that because when I was reading nothing but Hayate...that was all that Onemanga had up at the time...I'd resume reading now that they have some more...if I could just remember what chapter the mountain hiking thing ended on...

My fave Hayate characters would be...umm...I haven't read it in a while, so I may just use descriptions instead of names...

Male: That teacher dude that's always with Hinagiku's sister.

Female: Isumi

Animal:...wait are there any characters other than Tama who are animals anyway?

It's a manga.

It starts off with a guy named Hayate. I've read several manga actually with a similar start actually. Hayate's life sucks. His parents have sold his body, namely the organs inside, to the mafia to pay off their debt. in a last ditch effort to save his pitiful life, Hayate resorts to kidnapping a young girl he finds on the street. (Un)fortunatly, Hayate's particular way of trying to kidnap the girl comes off as a confession of love. That, combined with him saving the girl from some other kidnappers lands him a job as the girls new butler, as she just happens to be insanly wealthy. Thus begins his life as Hayate the 'Combat' Butler.

...well that's my best summary.

Yeah.

It's explained in the manga that prior to having his organs sold, Hayate tried to work of his parents debt via a job as a bicycle courier. Devouting himself to said job caused him to develop insane leg strength to the point that a bicycle is as good, if not better, than a motorbike to Hayate.

However, the manga's not really about fighting, it's a comedy. A pretty good one at that. It's also got a bit of ecchi in it. A prime example would be that some time into the manga, Hayate gains a special technique called 'Hayate of the Wind' (Which is actually the original Japanese title if I remember right) which is an insanly powerful kick, that has the side effect of generating a wind, which not only boosts the power of the kick, but causes the skirts/dresses of all nearby women to be flipped up.

Cool...tell me when you get to the part when they encounter a giant bear in the mountains...it will probably take you a few weeks, but when you get to that part, tell me what chapter it is so I can resume reading, cause I left off there, and...kinda forgot what chapter it was...

Also...you made a Tobi joke?

Y'know, I've only read a single panel of Negima.

I saw it at a book store once, plenty of volumes. I picked up vol.1, and flipped to a random page.

That page showed a half-naked girl sitting up in a bunk bed.

...I really should be reading that series right now...
