James Handle and the Veil of Death (HP related)

The Psychical Mirage[/align]

 

James was an eight year-old boy. He was strange in the manner of two things. The first being his cat-ears on his head (He had to wear a hat everyday to hide them), which confused even his own parents. The second being that he looked like a tomboyish girl and that he is often mistaken for one. Other than that, he was completely normal, other than the fact that both his parents are pure-blooded wizards.

They lived in a mansion near a beach which James usually visited. However, one day during a walk alongside the beach, there were two things that shocked him. The first was that a sea-serpent was washed ashore, dead. And the second was a giant ruby iceberg next to it.

James’s theory was that the sea-serpent accidentally slammed into the iceberg and got killed while the force of both items caused them both to be washed ashore. James walked towards the sea-serpent and then suddenly, its eyes opened. James jumped in horror. The sea-serpent’s eyes stared at James before finally closing. James walked closer, the eyes didn’t move at all. He walked even closer and then stretched out his hand.

He felt the rough but smooth skin of the sea-serpent. After stroking the enormous dead body for a bit, he turned towards the ruby iceberg. He walked towards it and touched it. It felt like stone frozen in ice for years. He took a stone from nearby and threw it at the iceberg. The force of the stone was strangely so powerful, it went straight through the iceberg.

The iceberg then began crumbling into pieces. James retreated towards higher ground as the massive iceberg began breaking up into pieces. Many of the sharp pieces penetrated the sea-serpent’s body, destroying most of its body. After the loud quake, James slowly walked through the beach, now covered with ruby-colored ice towards the remains of the corpse. He grabbed a square-like meatball thing the size of his fist from a small-enough hole located in the chest of the sea-serpent, it felt all mushy.

He took a sharp piece in the hole and cut the mushy meatball-thing into pieces until only a small portion remained. He put the portion into his pocket before taking a chunk of ruby ice the size of his head and holding it in his hands. For some reason, the huge chunk of meat and everything else that messed up the beach suddenly disappeared the next day, but the small portions that James took didn’t.

For three years, it was a mystery as to what James did with the small portions of the ‘mirage’ that appeared on the beach. But after three years, James is going to enter Hogwarts. He will seem normal except for one thing, his wand.
