"Cool!" exclaimed Selene. "I can't wait to meet your dad, Albus, James." she said. She bit excitedly into another Licorice wand. She smiled at him.

"So anyways, I hope this'll be a good year..," she said.

She resorted to watching the fields of farmers go by. She wondered if the farmers could actually see the hogwarts express rushing by.

Albus blushed. "I told you. I like being called 'Al'. Albus is too formal."

 

James laughed sitting on the ground with Rigel. Teddy and Victoire were snogging again, no one noticing them laughing as they pulled themselves apart. Rose Weasley, a third year, stepped in, looking at all of them having a good time and squeezing in next to Al, who smiled at the relief from the flattery. Now, most of the inhabitants of the compartment were cousins or related in some way like that.

 

Rigel laughed, as he stood, stretching and looking out the window. "Oh, it's getting dark already? I guess we should pull our robes on."

 

He reached out, pulling on a pair of black robes, emblazoned with a green and silver Slytherin crest, while most of the others pulled on Gryffindor robes.

 

"Man, do I feel left out," he laughed, looking at all the scarlet and gold.

 

"Whatever, dude," James said, hitting his arm, "You're good a Gryffindor as a Slytherin can be."

 

"Aren't you on the Slytherin team?" Teddy asked, once again pulling himself from Victoire.

 

"Yeah, I'm their Seeker. Like James is for Gryffindor," Rigel smirked, nudging James in the side.

 

The looked at each other with a sort of burning hate mixed with smiling laughs.

 

"Well, friends, I hope you don't go to easy on each other during the Quidditch matches," Teddy said, going out of the compartment, leaving Victoire with her cousins, Selene, Rigel, and Bellatrix.

Selene smiled at them. "oh maybe i will, or not..." she said with a smirk at Rigel then a smile. "Anyways I am co-captain so I got the quidditch match listings for the match schedules. The Saturday after we get to Hogwarts'll be a match between Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, then the next Saturday will be the winner of that match against Slytherin." she said, reading off her schedule. "This'll be an exciting year."

OOC: Hold on, the matches aren't held till after tryouts, so that will set the first match for somet time at the start of October so, wink-wink, you are too early, and the match list isn't announced till a week before the match.

 

"Well, Slytherin, will have a good team this year. We saw some promising second year Chasers, but they got bested by the old faces, and I'm glad, because last year was the first year we won the Quidditch and House cups in twelve years," said Rigel, happily.

 

"We'll see if it happens twice," said James, stoking Rigel's fire.

Selene gave a small smile. "not if Gryffindor has anything to say about it!" she smiled proudly. "We have some promising Chasers and Beaters trying out this year, Markkus Belby'll be on the team this year and he has a wild arm for beating!" she said happily.

She broke out her bertie bott's after finishing the rest of her candy. "Any of you want some?" she asked the whole compartment.

Biography: Growing on a small farm with countless siblings and housemates he found it hard to concentrate so natures wind was his ally as a child.

Caden was getting annoyed with his current company, a few younger Gryffindore students who who he had met last year. He really wanted to see some of his older friends, the ones his own age.

"You guys don't mind if I leave do you?" He asked politely. after no-one answered him, he realised that tehy were all asleep, That explained his bordem. With that he gathered up his things and decided that he would go to another compartment. Maybe see some old friends if he could.

A young boy, donning brown hair and blue eyes along with a Hogwarts Uniform with a black and white badger in the center of a yellow badge. Along side him was a small black puppy which had a bright yellow collar showing "Honeydukes Sweet Shop, Hogsmeade." Under that was a silver tag that showed the name "Dewlap" on in gold letters. He was also accompanied by a small hedgehog with a similiar collar down its middle that showed "Nibbles" that was asleep on his own shoulder. He was sitting in a cart with several people discussing their summer and how they had been, however he gained intrest in the conversation when Quidditch was mentioned. He quickly turned, holding a handful of Sugar Quills and said himself "Hufflepuff will stand a chance, even without the popularity we shall triumph.

Rigel, who was sitting in his seat now, looked over the faces of everyone in the compartment, each of them fully dressed in Hogwarts to get in the carriages awaiting them outside Hogsmeade Station.

 

"Okay, guys," Rigel said, "Another year at Hogwarts."

Jathaniel lingered in his office looking over bobbies of times past. Passing small black picture frames he muttered lines from the poems within them. "New school, new friends, i guess this new year is a challenge to some.... well I should be off", he said leaving.

Rigel reached the castle, looking up and down the staff table, smiling at Professor Longbottom as he and James broke apart, moving to the closest point between the Slytherin and Gryffindor tables, talking still when the Great Hall was called to order and the first years stepped inside.

 

"Welcome, first years," said the Deputy Headmaster, Professor Dupre, "You will now be sorted into your houses."

 

After the long list of names, the tables fell to silence again, the Headmaster, Professor Avery, said, "Welcome, first years, and welcome back to our returning students. Please enjoy the feast."

 

As he spoke, food appeared on the golden trays in front of him.

Blues himself strode himself over to the Hufflepuff table with his yellow hedgehog and large black dog following him gracefully. He stared at his food and began stuffing himself into a steak-and-kidney pie. He quickly noticed himself being a pig and began wiping his face with a nearby napkin while putting on a pair of black shades and tied his yellow scarf onto his neck, he was particularly hungry and began feasting in a more fasionable way. He turned to the headmaster with a glint in his eyes that told him that he wished to learn today as he waited for the annoucements.

Professor Avery stood again, "Now that you have had your fill, I would like to give you a few start-of-year announcements and notices. Firstly, all products from Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes are banned. For a complete list of banned items, see our caretaker. Secondly, I wish to remind students that the forest on the grounds is out of bounds to all students. Lastly, I would wish to tell you that there has recently been an attack on our Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, Professor Ezell, so he will not be able to return to teach for some time. In his place, we have found Professor Jathaniel Harker, and I hope you take to his classes. Now, I must wish you good night, for your beds await."

Jathaniel left the great hall trying to be as modest as possible from the school's warm welcome. He starts to cross the Great Hall with his Lockhart-esque smile. "Thank you", he said passing a group of teenaged witches smiling and giggling.

After getting the Slytherin password from a prefect, he traipsed the dungeon to the green-lit common room, sitting by the fire, looking into its embers, glowing orange, a cat sprawled on the floor by its warmth, awaiting its owner's return.

 

"Looks comfortable, doesn't it?" Rigel said to himself.

 

A portrait hanging on the wall showed Severus Snape, Headmaster, 1997-1998.

 

"Hello, Mr. Black," said the portrait, "You are still in this school?"

 

"Hello, Professor, and yes. Fifth year," Rigel said.

Rigel stood from his bed, looking around at the still sleeping roommates surrounding him, reaching into his trunk to pull out a green and silver tie and grey sweater to pull on over his white shirt. He looked at himself in a mirror, pulling down a clump of hair that was sticking straight up to where it looked normal. He ran his hand through his hair, his green eyes flashing toward the mirror before walking up to the Great Hall. Only a few people were in the Hall when he arrived, and Amias Skye was one of them.

 

Rigel didn't know Amias as well as he knew James, but James was Amias' friend. "Hey, Rigel," he said, waving, "What's up?"

 

"Nothing," Rigel said, stretching. "There is a whole bunch of stuff going on. We're in our O.W.L. year, now, though..."

Britney stood from her bed and looked at herself in the mirror. Her long black and raven colored hair staied in place while she slept escept this one srand that stood straight up. SHe fixed the hair and put it with the rest of her hairs. She pulled out a purple jacket and she put it on and changed her pajama pants to jeans and she walked down to the great hall with no sound at all and she sat down at the ravenclaw table a silent slump. "Im so tired" .She said with a small groan as she looked over at the people in the great hall.

Biography: Bruna has always wanted to be a Transfiguration teacher at Hogwarts since his 4th year there. Bruna has been a teacher for about 2 years.

"Hello," Rigel said as she passed, "I haven't seen you around before. What house are you in?"

 

Rigel sat down at the Slytherin table, wanting to talk to Britney, looking eagerly up the staff table to see the normal crowd of teachers, including the new Defense professor, who was looking at the crowd of students now wanting to eat their first meal before they got their class schedules and had to go to their classes. "O.W.L. year, Rigel," James groaned.

Britney waved to Rigel as she looked over at the teachers. She was thinking that she went overboard with all the class's she took but the thought was dismissed quickly as she looked over at Rigel and smiled. She didnt know who he was but she liked him already. She had this good feeling just running through her mind again and again to get to know Rigel then go over and make him hers. She then turned to look at the teachers again before finaly just getting bored and olaying with strands of her hair.

Bellatrix came in and sat at the Slytherin table tired and hungry. She sat next to Rigel saying "Hey Rigel." in a tired but happy tone thinking "wish i had a better first morning at Hogwarts". She turned at this years teachers waiting.

 

Prof. Bruna looked over all this years students from his seat with the other teachers with a casual look on his face."i wonder how this years students will be in class" thought as he stop looking at the students and at the other teachers.

Once everyone was in the dining hall, and they had eaten, the Heads of House strode down each table, handing each of them their class lists, each of the the sixth years having their schedules adjusted according to which N.E.W.T. classes they were taking that year.

 

"Mr. Black," the Slytherin Head of House said, tapping Rigel on the shoulder, "You are continuing with Ancient Runes, I expect?"

 

"Yes," Rigel said, looking at his class list.

 

Transfiguration with Ravenclaw first, Rigel thought, looking over at Britney, who was contemplating her schedule, Well, she's in Ravenclaw. There's a bright point already. Get to know someone new.

Britney looked down her class list and was happy with what order they were in. "I wonder if i shouldn't have taken Divination the teacher just creeps me out" .Britney said silently as she looked up at Rigel and saw him looking at her. She smiled and looked back at her class list always looking up at Rigel wondering if they had the same class's. All she knew was that they had Transfiguration together which made her really happy. "I gotta feeling that this years gunna be a good,good year" .Britney said as she laughed on how she quoted the Black Eyed Peas as they were her favorite muggle band.

Rigel got up as soon as James got her schedule, looking down and comparing the lists. "Dude, this year is gonna suck! Look. We have barely two classes together, because we have to have the freaking Potions lessons with Ravenclaws."

 

Rigel looked down at his list. He did have Potions with Ravenclaws, but it didn't make him mad, but James never did like the Ravenclaw house, even if Rose Weasley was in it now.

 

"Well, I'm going to go and get to Transfiguration. See you this afternoon!" Rigel said, waving as he went to the first floor Transfiguration corridor, passing a group of Ravenclaw girls who were pointing at him and giggling as he passed. He raised an eyebrow but ignored her. Most girls did that, but he never did quite get used to it. orion was always the better looking of them.
