True. Sucks Beastie Boys broke up early. But, we wouldn't have Mike D's version of Rockin' the Mic for JSRF (probably would, but it wouldn't be as good as it is now). I think it started going downhill when Biggie and 2pac died. After, that Eminem and 50 Cent came into the picture, which most likely was the bullet to the head. I'm not trying to say they're bad, they ended up bringing in bad rappers without realizing.

I blame 50. His lyrics lack originality. Eminem however, is another story. How many people do you know can get on the mic and in an entire verse make this long adaptation about how they're crazy, without ACTUALLY saying it, and top the charts?

Eminem is genius, but I see your point. After he came into the game, we got failures like Paul Wall. What kinda funking name is that anyway? -_-

Paul Wall was bad. He was worse than Azim (who was really good when he remade "Freak Out" but then his carrer died after that)

50 was good back when he started, but he got too dependant on the beat as well as money. Now, he's basically prostituting himself for fan service through the means of video games (both of which suck badly).

Eminem can be known as one of the major rappers that will have a shot. There are some few, but they will either have it later in their career or their career will die right before that oppourtunity.

What is really weird is that today's rap made nerdcore (rapping to video game music). The Adventures of Duane and BrandO has the biggest shot out of it. Even though they have no record deal at all.

Even with more good music, it still wont change the fact that the games were supposed to boost 50's popularity. However, since the game was so repetative as well as only revolving around him, people hated it, it caused his popularity to decrease slightly. This is the same thing that happened to Diddy (but he did it with movies). Either way, its most of the rappers today whether they act like idiots and start prostituting themselves first-hand BEFORE they even have a shot in the music buisness or they just are too dumb to realize that their songs suck and they should stop while they are behind (there are some excepttions to this however).

If he cleans up his act, possibly lay off the weed (some rappers are on it so they can get better songs), stop being a total a**hole (thats Dennis Leary's job), and probably review his lyrics before he actually records, he may have a shot, but he would have a lower chance because of his history.
