OoC: Wait, wait, wait...you guys have successfully created a gaping plot hole. Following Kai and eavesdropping would not give any more information beyond the possibility of a new Yliaster objective, and would certainly not contain specific information as neither she nor Gaichus discussed sensitive information over the communications link. Secondly, how the hell did Tempus Corp get exact details when Gaichus had seemingly made the plan on his own and had only JUST given that information to Kai. Inside the Yliaster HQ, where none of you were present, nor have had time to report about it if you or your C3 allies miraculously were.

 

Seriously, knowing both destination, timeline, and specifically which Emperor...before they actually took steps to START the plan or even finish discussing it amongst themselves...Plot hole and deus ex machina at best. Intercepting the antagonists before they get anywhere is not good storytelling nor does it make good drama.

Before he opened the portal, Gaichus hesitated. "Wait, is Rome good enough to start now? Or should we wait. Actually," he turned to Kai, "I had another time in mind. The civil war was a devastating time for the United States, and I happen to know of a few ways we can engineer their total demise. So, actually, we'll be headed to the 1860s instead. Would you care to come along?"

Kai grinned. "Sure, I'll come. Sounds like fun," she said, abandoning her acting tone and giggling. She knew more about the Civil War than about Rome's customs, and field experience was field experience. Anything to help her work off the issue involving the trucks at Korea was fine with her. She flicked her hair from her face. "Do I still need to act as your wife?"

Gaichus gave her a quick look. "No, you could pass as my sister this time around. Our faces look enough the same. Right then. Civil War era requires Civil War clothes." He clapped his hands and a veritable closet shot out in front of him.

"Hmm...1862. One male, one female, working class."

The closet extended a pole with two hangers on it, exactly to his specifications. He took the dress off of the hanger and gave it to Kai.

"There you are, my dear."

Kai clapped her hands together, taking the dress from him. It was a bit closer to her dressing style than the Roman outfit was, and not quite as elaborate as the toga. "Okay, then!" she chirped, retreating into the antechamber once more. She emerged, a shorter amount of time than she had when changing into the first. She giggled, patting down a stray wrinkle in the fabric. Again she had her disk tucked under her arm, although she considered that it wouldn't be difficult to conceal it under the dress herself.

Athrun walked out of the office and into the room where his duel runner was. He let out a heavy sigh and sat down upon it. "By the time we get out of this place Kai and her boss will be hoping threw 6 different eras." Just then a smirk ran acrossed his face. "Maybe it's about time i took matters into my own hands." he hoped on his duel runner and set the time and date. "Destination Rome Italy." he said as a portal opened in front of him. "If they aren't here, i blame boss and Rectiek." he said as he roared the engine and shot threw the portal.

“Ugggg....morning already ?” syrick groaned as he rolled out of bed .‘‘ I made pancakes‘‘ said syricks adoptive mother luara . “Sure”said syrick . “Hey pettit dragon wake up .”said syrick as he reached for his goggles he always kept them on top of his cabinet . Syrick quickly ate his breakfast and hopped on his small duel runner he set the location on rome . Just whan he was going to start a strange man broke through the door . “Dont you dare start that duel runner if you do your mom pays the price .” Hmmmmm...lets duel okay. ”Whaaaat!!!!” “Oh woooow thats a freaking laugh riot but sure thing lose to my gladiator beast deck .”3 minutes later .“So weak at your level you wont make it into the minor leagues kay.”“Okay now if you dont want me to turns you in I have 5 simple request 1 set your deck on the table 2 delete all your duel runner data so I can reconfigure it 3 handover your duel disk 4 empty pockets of all valuables 5 run through the streets like a insane version of speedy gonzolez kay .” No way !!!!!!! I have security on speed dial . fine man I get served by some blind kid and....“SPEED DIAL 911!!!! DON'T MAKE FUN OF BLIND PEOPLE KAY.”Man yliaster is not going to be happy. What did you just say?! Thats right Kai should be in rome by now. Dang I gotta hurry.Syrick hops on his duel runner and types in rome as the location and got their as fast asap and there was kai waiting for him.

Gaichus prepared the portal and set the coordinates, both temporal and geographical. The place needed to be very precise for one simple reason: People are going to be asking a lot of questions if a pair of people suddenly show up out of nowhere. And if they don't, then you're in much more trouble. Thankfully, Yliaster had grown during the 1800s with the Industrial Revolution, and he could exert much more influence here than in the Korean War, where he had access to limited resources. The portal itself led to an abandoned shack in a small postcard village off the outskirts of London, England (1862). There weren't enough people in the village to warrant enough of a panic.

"After you, 'milady,'" Gaichus said, gesturing with his hand toward the portal.

"Thank you kindly," Kai giggled, stepping through the portal with dignity. She had some idea what to expect, but the sensation of going through a portal sometimes made her feel momentarily ill. It was not a sensation she wanted to get used to, but it usually passed within moments, so complaining about it was nothing more than a waste of time. She shut her eyes to make the portal's tendency to black out her vision not as intense to experience.

 

Kai opened her eyes, blinking a few times. On a quick glance, she was now inside a very small room. It smelled musty, as if it had been out of use for years, and wherever she was hadn't been cleaned for a while. There also wasn't anything TO clean, as the only scraps of furniture in the room were two half-broken wooden chairs that looked like they belonged in a garbage pile, and a worn cot in the spider-web infested corner of the small room.

 

"How exciting," Kai giggled.

Outskirts of London, England, A.D. 1862.

 

Gaichus emerged from the portal after Kai and stepped out of the cottage. As he expected, a horse and carriage were waiting for them outside. It was to be expected, as Gaichus had sent word of their arrival before they had gotten there. (Isn't time travel wonderful? he thought to himself.) He opened the door of the carriage and held out his hand to help Kai inside.

Spiridon finally decided to walk out of Tempus. Corp headquarters. He had to not be challenged to a duel, for he knew he would lose. He walked by town, calmly. Soon, he went back to headquarters and sat down, then looked through his deck.

Kai took Gaichu's hand and climbed into the carriage, fighting the urge to giggle girlishly at the assistance. She sat down in a seat, admiring the carriage interior. She had never traveled in one of these before (obviously because they were all but non-existent in the present day). Her eyes swept the streets thoughtfully, wondering where Gaichus planned for them to go from here. Nothing in the vicinity suggested that a major war was going on elsewhere in the country, but Kai considered that not every place Yliaster visited had to be war-torn at that moment.

IC: The carriage left the two in front of a very prestigious looking mansion, or rather, at the gate. A rather unimposing looking butler approached the other side of the gate. Before he could say a word, Gaichus showed him a certain symbol. The butler bowed and opened the gate. Gaichus was in. They were led to a lavish looking room, where they were told that the master of the house would be with them shortly.

Kai resisted the urge to squeal when she saw the well-decorated room. It was not that she was stunned to see such a splendorous sight, but more that the excitement of the mission was starting to get to her. Being in such a prestigious mansion room was just an incredible perk. She longed to know what Gaichus' objective was, but didn't dare lose her cover in order to ask. She knew things would be clear, as soon as they were seen. She took a seat, again resisting the urge to squeal at how comfortable her chosen seat was.
