BLEACH: Seven Soul Requiem [No Longer Accepting]

"The fools," Dura chanted with his last breath. Just as peace was sought out once more, it seemed Dura had an inch of life remaining in his body, even after his Zanpaktou had betrayed him.

"I may have no darkness power left to control this realm, but I will bring about an evil far greater than my own. I shall see to it that the chaos between this dimension and the next destroys those blasted Shinigami!"

And as he raised a lifeless claw and brought it down, a tiny rift formed before him, as he cackled his way unto death.

Kiron was dead. Mateo's everlasting poison had finally drawn the life out of him, and brought his corrupt rule to an end. It seemed that the era of the Arrancar had ended; but of course, Alexander, the remaining of his kind, had a different say on the subject. There would be no spared remorse or sympathy for the remaining Shinigami, and he would be sure of it.

"That's it. We've won. Seireitei is ours once more," Zaraki said shaking his comrades hands. Ichigo held up a grin, even though they lost some of their most valued members.

Yoruichi, Jo, and even Shiro. Death surrounded their happiness, but still they were able to muster smiles. "Remember this day. Victory doesn't come without a little pain, but pain, is for the weak. So rest, and let your weary body be still. We'll rebuild over time."

For now, things were quiet, but only on their end of the vast universe. Dura's plan was taking motion, and the rift began to widen, all the while bringing a new evil into existence. The Requiem Toxin.

Emperor Mateus Palamecia watched in smug satisfaction from the balcony of his highest Tower. Down below, fighting desperately against a band of the unholy that he had summoned, was the group of would-be rebels.

So, Fynn was finally striking back. It was about time. The Emperor had been waiting a good while now for them to hurry up with it - after all, he couldn't have made it that difficult for them, could he? Goodness, if he had been running a rebellion, and his adversary had made things this easy, he would have killed him already.

But of course, he supposed they WERE dealing with he, Mateus Palamecia, after all. He was simply on a higher level than these scum.

And before long, they would be along to kill him, and he would let them. Because then he would have Earth, Heaven, and Hell in the palm of his hand. He had to keep smirking at the thought - a moment of brief pain was definitely worth it for total conquest.

However, just at that moment, something.... unexpected happened.

His smirk vanished as Mateus looked up, a thoughtful expression now on his features as he detected a new presence. In a moment, he made an about face, entering his chambers just in time to see a small, barely noticeable purple line appear in thin air. Interest piqued, he made his way forward, reaching out a hand to examine the small crack in space.

And upon touching it, a million images rushed into his head. Images of strange beings...Shinigami, images of others, these ones called Hollow, images of power, of an alternate afterlife, of a Hell comparable to the one he already knew so well.... someone named Dura, someone named Kiron, so many images all at once.

And then he knew it all. He had seen the memories, and obtained the knowledge of whomever had been so gracious as to send this to him. And his smile grew wider.

Suddenly, the door behind him burst open, and in stepped that pitiful insect, Firion.

"Emperor!" he cried, pointing his blade fiercely at the monarch, his friends standing behind him with equal vigor.

But Mateus simply waved them off, no longer interested in their petty trifles. "My apologies, my dear tools of war." he announced benevolently to them, smiling in their direction. "But I'm afraid there has been a change of plans. Do take care while I'm away."

And with a laugh, The Emperor tore open the fabric presented by the small rift, and slipped straight through, the portal sealing shut behind him.

-

The Seireitei was a very interesting place in person. He had seen it moments ago in Dura's memories, but it still had a different feeling about it now that he was standing here.

"It matters not." he spoke carelessly. "The Shinigami have only just reclaimed this place, if those memories are to be any indication. Such a pity for them."

And as he weaved his rod through the air, fires sprouted from beneath his feet, and the army of the underworld began to rise. "Now go." he ordered, and wordlessly, the soldiers of the dead marched their way toward the city of Seireitei.

It was quiet. The long, overdrawn day was coming to a close, slowly but surely. The sky's evening sun over Seireitei seemed to bask in glory at their moments' victory, but if only too soon. An unsensed, undetected presence had suddenly sprang their mental alarms, as a great reiatsu, stronger than even Zaraki's own, crushed nearly everything around them that remained.

"What the hell is that?" Zaraki wondered in amazement, aloud. His question was answered as a roaring fire engulfed the ruins of Seireitei's Eastern housing. "Kurosaki, go check it out. There can't be anyone left. And Kiron as dead, so find out what it is."

Ichigo nodded, and vanished away.

Moments later, he arrived hundreds of feet above the numerous cloud of hellspawn army below. Their numbers were endless! After such a tiresome battle, Ichigo couldn't be sure if they could handle such a large number of enemies. And at the foot of their fleet, stood an oddly dressed man, the only thing that appeared normal about him was the color of his hair.

Ichigo would have laughed if not for his immense power being exerted. Ichigo wasn't entirely sure the odd man knew the power he was exerting! It was truly incredible. And much to his dismay, he was much like Byakuya. Thing's just couldn't have gotten worse.

Unfortunately they did. Just as Ichigo began to scan his enemy, another blazing screen of green skin blurred past him. Mateo.

"Where the hell are you going!?" he called to the speeding Arrancar.

Mateo stopped, and ushered a smile to him. "To the other side of course," he said pointing over the horizon. "There, I can be done with the likes of you Shinigami, for good."

Ichigo had little to argue with. "Are you sure you're not running away because someone stronger has shown up? Then go, you coward."

Mateo scoffed, and vanished.

Ichigo stood still in the sky, and decided to get a closer look at his enemy, and so foolishly appeared on the front lines before the great army.

The city streets of Midgar had long since been abandoned. Children no longer came out to play, the sun no longer shined, and the battle of 3 years continued to draw out. High atop the central Power Plant, he gazed into the forgotten city that he forced into hiding. It was as though fate guided him to the exact viewpoint, because a sudden slash of purple energy tore open the city's heart, letting loose a nuclear shockwave. Quickly protecting himself with a mystical aura, he observed the opening from a distance.

Towards him came two beings, one he recognized, and one he did not. And they were approaching at amazing speeds.

One of the two beings, was his combatant, still with his long, broad sword that made up a super weapon. And the other, had oddly colored green skin, a frail bone-like mask upon his head with matching armor on his body, and was parrying the other's sword with merely his hand.

"Cloud. If you can't defeat such a petty enemy without a weapon, what makes you think you can defeat me? I am your eternal darkness. And even if you fade, I will continue to exist. So try not to disappoint me," Sephiroth said with cocky attitude.

Cloud separated from his challenger with a clash, digging his sword into the ground. "Who are you? I've been waging war with this bastard for 3 years, and I've never seen someone like you," Cloud called.

Mateo cocked his head to the left. "What does it matter to you? I'm only here to get away fro-- AGH!"

A choking hand grasped his throat. "I changed my mind Cloud. I'll dispose of this one quickly, so that you and I can continue our fight."

The distinct sound of metal clashing against metal stole the knight's attention. It was the distinct sound of blade clashing against blade. The sound of battle; something he knew from years of experience and bloodshed. It seemed to be a battle to two warriors, the sound of their clashing dimmed.

Why did they stop?

Intrigued, Garland took a step forward. His dark blue cape covering most of his body, spare his helmet.

As he moved forward, the screeching sound of metal being dragged on metal soon filled the silent air of Midgar. Whoever these two warriors were, they would regret having their battle here.

Because Garland's in town. And he's gonna knock them ALL down.

Alex sank his teeth into the flesh of a Hollow he had killed, tearing off a piece and swallowing. His days had been this way, in and out, ever since the defeat at Soul Society, in which he was the last survivor.

Just flying around Hueco Mundo, burning things that angered him, eating any Hollow he came across. He was powerful, he knew. But all by himself, with no more comrades, with all his support, even with his beloved gone, he had no chance of taking out the Shinigami.

Sure, he could go in blazing, probably take out half of those random, faceless Shinigami that made up Soul Society's grunts, and maybe even kill a couple Captains. But he would be stopped, and killed, and then all hopes of a resistance would be over and done with. They would win, and the Hollow would lose with his death, the last powerful Hollow in existence.

He gritted his teeth on the bones of the weakling he was devouring. How had it come to this? The Hollow had been on the rise, there had been more Arrancar than there had ever been before, their strength made the age of Aizen look like a joke! And now he was all that was left. The most powerful of his kind, but in the end, it made no difference.

He needed a break. A way to strike back. But eating Hollow constantly wasn't going to help - at this point, powerful as he was, it would take him a million or so meals just for any noticeable increase to happen. He hardly had that kind of time.

He needed something more...

-

Lady Kagetsuki was most displeased. Even after successfully removing the Hollow threat, and Dura and Kiron's influences from Soul Society, Mateo was once again in jeopardy. That sly little jerk. He found a loophole in the Contract he had signed with her.

The Snake Spirit has fled the world of Soul Society, and now found himself in a foreign world. Due to their connection, Kagetsuki was still aware of him, and could see and sense him. But she no longer had any influence. As soon as he had entered this new world, all power she had over him was gone.

And just like that, all her plans were ruined. Shina would never be properly guided, Mateo would not help her open a gateway, and the spirits would not have their wills.

She huffed as she watched him, finding grim satisfaction as she watched him stabbed by a man he was no match for. Well, this was just fine. She had no power over him, and no power to help him. He clearly tried to violate the Contract.

Let death be his just reward. After all, without her help in the first place, he would have been dead anyway. This served him right for dodging his obligations to her.

Mateo chuckled. An eerie green glow lit up Sephiroth's face, as he tilted his head, asking, "What is it you find so amusing, my death ridden foe?"

Mateo continued chuckling. "You actually think you can kill me. That's what's so damn funny. Cero."

A bright flash of green light once more, and then an amazing push against Sephiroth's chest, knocking him backwards into the Power Plant's still standing walls. But when the acidic smoke cleared, Sephiroth merely dusted the soot away from his shoulder, shaking his head, as Mateo stood with his eyebrows raised.

Sephiroth sighed, turning his attention now to Cloud. "Would you aid me, Cloud? Defeat our approaching fiend, while I wipe away this blemish. Surely you can do that."

Cloud only scoffed, turning to see Garland fast approaching. "Don't be too long, Sephiroth. After I kick this guy's ass, whether you're still in combat or not. I'll put you back to sleep." With amazing speed, Cloud dashed off towards Garland.

Meanwhile, Mateo approached Sephiroth slowly, a snake withering from his sleeve. "You might be powerful, but I've defeated many stronger than yourself, Sephiroth. My poison will eat you inside out."

Sephiroth drew his, blade, it's full seven feet meeting evenly with Mateo's chest. "Before I kill you," Sephiroth said with a glare in his eye. "Tell me your name," he requested.

"Mateo. The last name you'll ever hear."

A particularly strong pressure had caught The Emperor's attention as his army had began to march forward, many of the front lines beginning to collide with inner barriers, swinging their blades in an effort to slowly chip away at it. Mateus, would have lent his assistance, but he was far too preoccupied with the strength he was feeling.

Raising his disinterested stare, he managed to spot a head of orange hair in the sky.

Ah, that young man. Ichigo, I believe it was? he thought to himself, pulling up some of Dura's memories.

The Shinigami then flew down toward the ground, standing beyond the barrier as he faced the front lines of the army. Mateus scoffed a bit, and then decided to pay him proper greeting. He rose into the air, taking on the position of sitting on a throne, despite nothing being beneath him, and slowly floated his way over to the boy, stopping just short of the barrier, above the heads of his soldiers.

"Greetings." he called to the Shinigami. "And how fare you, Ichigo?"

"Who the hell are you, and how do ya' know my name?" Ichigo called back. Looking forward into the crowd of enemies before him, he raised his blade. "What does it matter to the likes of you, how I fare? You've damn near destroyed our home by crossing into this world. And I just fought one of the hardest battles of my life. I feel drained, and I've lost comrades I've known my entire life. That's how I fare.

But something like that probably means nothing to a bastard as powerful as you are. So just what business do you have here?"

Ichigo could feel his body tighten, ready for the imminent battle that was at hand. He knew that he could fight back, but for how long? "I hope backup arrives soon. We may have to retreat!"

"What interest is it of mine?" Mateus asked, with mock hurt in his tone. "My dear boy, it is an Emperor's duty to worry over the well-being of his subjects."

He then fixed Ichigo with a wicked smirk, finding the boy's passion and conviction so very, very amusing. "So allow me to personally welcome you to my new Empire. Now Kneel." he commanded, waving his rod as an enormous, shining Sigil appeared on the ground beneath the red-head's feet, crackling to life with electricity as it exploded with energy.

As Garland approached the battle, he was met with his own foe. As Cloud dashed towards him, the rush of conflict seemed to sweep over the knight. Before Cloud could try to attack him first, he brushed his cloak aside. Revealing his armor and huge sword.

Without second thoughts, he split his sword into two thinner versions. To Cloud, it looked more like he purposeless wretched the sword into two.

Despite his armors size and appearance, Garland was no tank. He rushed forward, both swords spinning.

The explosion knocked him off of his feet. Ichigo was flung harshly into the old barracks of the 11th Squadron, it's walls crumbling upon his head. He brushed them away, moving the giant concrete walls from his legs. Using Zangetsu, he got to his feet, and proclaimed, "You're good. But I'll never kneel to a bastard like you."

The little strength he had remaining was wearing away slowly. He put all his breath into an attempt to push back the Emperor's massive army for a brief time. "Getsuga Tenshou!" he cried. The giant burning arc of blue light cut right into the heart of the Emperor's front line soldiers.

Mateo rushed forward with blinding speed, using his Sonido to break the sound barrier. Or so he thought. He bared down on Sephiroth with amazing pressure from his own right fist. Unfortunately, his fist was caught, with Sephiroth's own left hand.

"What the h--," he tried to exclaim. but when he caught the look in the eye of his opponent, he was stunned. Sephiroth's eyes did not waver, did not water, and were as calm as the evening sky. But like the oceans of Midgar, he was totally unpredictable.

"Your speed is. . .nothing compared to my own. Had you the ability to comprehend my strength, perhaps you wouldn't have rushed into your own death bed. Tell me, what do you fight for?" Sephiroth proceeded to ask, tossing Mateo into the same exact spot where Sephiroth had braced himself after blocking Mateo's Cero.

Mateo's eyes were glazed over. He had never fought someone this powerful. This . . . angel, Sephiroth. He was stronger than even Kiron. "For myself. I've no reason to stand for anyone else. My victory, my glory, my way, my destiny. That's all that matters. And you're in my way!" Again with his break-neck speed, Mateo aproached Sephiroth, randomly changing his path to strike from behind.

Suddenly he noticed Sephiroth's eyes as he approached. They were perfectly following his movements. "How is that possible? I'm moving faster than sound! How can he keep up with me!?"

The whirring wind that was being cut by Garland's blades sounded off loudly to Cloud. He was fast, if not faster. Cloud couldn't help but wonder how his opponent moved with such heavy armor. Dragging his sword beside him, he leaped high into the air, and brought it down with a heavy thud as he landed a few feet in front of his enemy, it's steel radiating a light blue energy.

"Why are my skies on fire?" Zaraki asked himself aloud. "Old man Yama is long dead. So it must be that damn Arrancar."

A grin crossed his devilish face as he turned to his only other remaining Captain. "Kuchiki! Go check it out. I think you'd have fun with this one."

(Yes I am in this RP, just haven't been able to post til today. Probably a bit rusty so bare with me.)

Darkness had fallen around the castle of Ultimecia, a result of the compression of time and her return to her throne. The SeeD had already made their way into the castle, making their presences known to it's mistress. "Those wretched SeeD... They've foiled my plans for far too long. They might have forced me back to my own time but little do they know that they have fallen into my trap." Loud bangs and violet quakes started to erupt through the throne room causing the sorceress to turn her attentions to the door where her "assassins" would soon barge through. With in the second a portal opened in the middle of the room, causing a powerful gust to blow towards the Sorceress, which sent small ripples of air through her tight red dress and black wings. "What's this..... is it a trap or perhaps a way to further my power..." Without another thought Ultimecia floated off her throne and proceeded through the portal, closing it behind her and leaving her old tale with it.

"I'll break you and your sword!" Garland stopped, motioning his swords together. They recombined into his larger, more threatening one. Quickly picking his pace up again, he arched his sword over his back. An earthy brown aura emitting from his armor.

As he stopped at Cloud, he brought his now formed axe down. Even if Cloud moved away, the collision between his axe and the ground would of created a distraction.

Darkness. Pure, pitch black darkness.

It felt heavy...suffocating, almost.

Dead. Am I...dead?

If so, then why was adrenaline coursing through her body, screaming her to do something?

She opened her eyes slowly, her sharp sight meeting a dim cavern, and thousands of tiny Hollows. They were staring at her, hungrily, with their red eyes. She ignored them, continuing with her surveillance of the caverns. Sand poured in at random times, showing light for a split second before the leftover sand covered it up again.

What had happened...?

She stared up at the deadly stalacites, trying to regain her memories.

Shina, Sai, Yachiru, Yoruichi, Byakuya, Kenpachi...

...Ichigo.

Then there were the Arranacars.... she sighed and sat up, looking down at her bare self. A mere shrug graced her shoulders as she slowly stood, sand pouring off of her. She stood unbalanced for a moment, then took cautious steps towards a pool.

A mix of emotions caught her as she stared at herself.

Pearly skin, ginger hair cascading around her, one orange slitted eye and one scarlet slitted eye staring back at her, and what was left of her Hollow mask.

It started from both sides of her cheekbones and connected at the bridge of her nose, two fangs protruding from bone, going slightly past her chin.

She then dipped her hands into the water and took a drink, looking around warily as she did so.

...What was it like above...?

More like, how would she get above? Nobody could hear her, she was positive of that....

How long was she asleep? She traced the mask piece to try and remember, but no memory was proving useful. Just then a little Hollow lizard came and nibbled on her thigh, and she went to swat it away, but it dodged her hand nimbly... only to get impaled on a blade attached to her arm. Staring at the critter who sputtered it's last breath, she slid it off the blade and watched it slowly meld back into her arm.

"Huh." She muttered, then bit a chunk from the lizard. Her eyesight sharpened slightly in the dim place, but she merely blinked and took nothing of it. After her meal, she stood and looked around herself again, licking her lips.

"Well, it's all or nothing." She muttered, and raised her reitsu, hoping to catch someone's attention....

Mateo couldn't move any faster; he was using all of his strength, and still Sephiroth's devious eyes traced him. Then, before Mateo's brain could register it, Sephiroth had vanished.

"What!? How can he be moving even faster than me!? I.. I--!" Mateo could only blink as Sephiroth stood before him, with arrogance and confidence in his irritating eyes. He came down with all of his strength, attempting to wipe away Sephiroth's smirk, and his life, in one fell swoop.

"Poor Mateo. You can't register this at all can you?" Sephiroth asked stepping aside, and walking slowly to Mateo's left. But in Mateo's own eyes, Sephiroth bounced at light-speed from right to left. And by the time the words reached his ears, they were mumbled and distorted.

"Pooooooooor Maaateoooooo. Yooouuu caaaaaannn't registerrrrr thisssss att alllllll cannnn yoooooouu?," was what he heard. "What!? Sephiroth! You bas--," he wanted to shout, but he couldn't. The only thing that escape his lips was blood. Gallons of his own toxic blood.

"You see Mateo, I don't need to use the greatest of my abilities on some one as weak and pathetic as yourself. Your abilities are lacking. And in my universe," he said as his finger traced the line of Masamune's blade. "You aren't even a puppy. You're an insect. And now, I must exterminate you."

The very end of Masamune only grazed into Mateo's back. But so powerful it was, that it ripped open his spine. Mateo collapsed to the ground, in seconds. But for him, it felt like a millennial before he finally hit the dirt. "My eyes alone have rendered you dead. Now close your eyes, and rest in peace."

Mateo raised a hand, his final good bye to the world before him; a middle finger.

Sephiroth grunted in respect, as Mateo's head smoothly slid from his shoulders, and Masamune rested on his shoulder. "Pathetic," he uttered to himself.

Byakuya Kuchiki studied the sky carefully, looking on with a disinterested appearance at the red color, and tracing every ounce of reiatsu he felt. The Zaraki spoke up, asking him to go investigate the situation.

The stoic man simply closed his eyes, replying in a slightly condescending tone of voice. "It was my understanding that charging headlong into battle was your specialty. Why should I rob you of that pleasure?"

He then turned away dismissively. "I'll leave it to you. Meanwhile, I shall inform the Onmitsukidou of new orders." and with that, he was gone. As much as he viewed the man as a reliable comrade, Byakuya has never taken well to following Zaraki's orders.

-

Thoughts drifting in and out, carelessly floating around his head as usual, Alexander soared the black skies of Hueco Mundo. He let his reiatsu pulse outward as he flew, acting like sonar - it would bounce back and he would feel any notable Spiritual collisions it made. This was how he found his daily meals.

Of course, his oppressive reiatsu would stifle out any possible readings from weaklings, but that suited him just fine. Anything who's reiatsu was too weak to even send a signal back wasn't even worth eating. Of course, this was not just a way to find something to eat.

No, he also relied on this method as a vague, somewhat futile attempt at hope - there was always a chance he might find someone with enough power to help him get revenge. Like that would ever happen.

But just as that errant thought flitted across his mind, Mistress Irony so kindly smiled upon him, and he suddenly felt an incredible wave of power wash over him.

He stopped midflight, eyes wide as the faintest trickles of hope began to leak back into them. Then he smiled a devilish smile, and took off in the direction that he could feel the power. Eventually, the power seemed to vanish beneath the sands, causing the Phoenix Arrancar to stop just over the point of submersion.

"So... you're in here."

-

The great blue arc illuminated the area as several of his soldiers were cast into the air, falling to pieces. The Emperor let his head fall to rest against his fist, still sitting in that invisible Throne. "It seems we have another rebel."

The humor was gone from his voice now as he was quickly growing bored. "Don't tell you're just going to swing that oversized piece of rubbish around all day, Ichigo." he spoke in a reprimanding tone. "I know you can do better than that."

With a casual flick of his wrist, a small squadron of new figures arose - these ones were clad in dark, spiked armor, and carried lances with them as they rode their hellish black horses, with eyes of gleaming red and fire spewing from their mouths.

"Perhaps my Dark Knights will be enough to provoke your second release then, hmm? What was the word..." he mused, calling Dura back into mind. "Ah yes, a Bankai, was it not?"

His Horseman made a beeline for the barrier, lances raised and charged with an evil energy. "I suggest you do so now, before they break your precious shield."

OoC: I think it's time that I take Ichigo.

"Heh, you're pretty confident in yourself, aren't you?" the Substitute Shinigami taunted. Without a shout, he announced "Bankai!"As a gust of wind surrounded him, Ichigo's clothes change, his blade changing shape until it had the form of a slender, black katana. He felt stronger than he was a moment ago, know that he was fully released. "Getsuga Tensho!" he cried once more as his blade, firing a black stream outlined in red, arcing itself as it enveloped the Dark Knights.

"Hmm? That reiatsu. . . Ichigo doesn't use his Bankai unless he desperately needs to. Then again, I've been wrong before," Zaraki said with a chuckle. A heavy sigh escaped him as he climbed to his feet. "Kurosaki. If you die on me. . . I'll kick your ass." Grabbing his trusty Zanpaktou (which hated him so much), he stabbed the ground and propelled himself into the air, yanking it with him as he took off.

"What the--?" He shook loose the large chunk of earth he ripped away as he continued on.

To his dismay, a gigantic black wave of energy washed forward into what seemed to be an endless army of demonic fiends. Then of course, there was the floating snob above them, who much resembled Byakuya. It was almost creepy. It looked as though Ichigo was holding his own, so he decided to hang back, just for a little bit.

She felt an amazing, familar reitsu wash over her, and she stared up at the cavern ceiling, trying to remember who it was.

"Alex..ander?" She mumbled. A tidal wave of memories hit her, and she held on to her head for a moment. Everything...

Mateo, Kiron, Alexander, Elena...everyone.

She sighed, something in her chest aching. She decided to wait till she was out of the cavern to start asking questions, so she looked for a place that she could... claw through? Sighing, she shook her head in aggrivation and screamed at it. The stalactites rippled, then cracked and fell to the ground -- she barely had enough time to jump aside from the impaling spikes. Looking up at the now bare ceiling, she noticed the cracks that went along it, but it wasn't enough to break through, even though sand was slowly pouring.

Hopefully Alexander could help with that...
