problematica
A top 10 ranking that has individual ports of games is absolutely retarded. It's the same damn game, it doesn't even make sense for one port to be considered better than so and so games while the other port is worse then those same games. The idea of using scores as well is retarded since nearly no reviewing site goes on a 100.00% scale and there are far too many games older games that are not reviewed by most sites because they are too old to bother rating. And having Orange Box in a top 10 game list is retarded, it's 3 seperate games (Since HL2: Eps 1 & 2 are expansions). I really prefer GameInformer's top 10 (first 10 in their Top 100 list). It takes pretty good account of the games innovations, importance to later games, and how they would be viewed at the time of their release. And this thread reeks of weeaboos. Hydra of Ages
And this thread reeks of weeaboos. I've only seen one person complaining about the lack of Final Fantasy so far' date=' nobody's mentioned Guilty Gear, and the word 'Kawaii' has yet to be uttered. I see nothing wrong here. Anyway, the list is... meh. Personally, I think Ocarina is overrated- an awesome, mindblowing game (especially for the era) yes, but it's not the pinnacle of video gamin excellence that you'd see practically every list make it out to be. Plus, everyone knows that professional ratings are proportionally higher for franchises with [i']bribe money[/i] -Err, massive fanbases in the area. After all, what media outlet would give, say, Halo3 a bad score if they knew a lot of their readers love anything halo and would be upset about it if they gave it poor markings? My personal list? 1. Super Mario Bros. 32. The Legend of Zelda; A Link to the Past3. Okami4. Shadow of the Colossus 5. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations 6. Portal7. Final Fantasy IV8. Mother 3 (Provided you've got a translation handy...)9. The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind10. Metal Gear Solid ...But that's just personal, unwashed, unprofessional take on it, using absolutely nothing from the past year or so.

That's just listing the highest rated games. So you can have different versions of the same game on it if one version is genuinely better than another.3) Again, it's not a top 10 list. It's just showing the 10-highest rated games. So Orange Box CAN be there.4) You don't mean that Top 200 list where GTA4 is ranked one place above Super Mario World, do you? Because if you do, I pay absolutely 0 attention to that list. 5) No, it doesn't reek of weeaboos.

'tyleR
I prefer most of Brushfire's list. :/ Where the hell is Majora's Mask? Also, get rid of the Orange Box and make it Half-Life 2 solely. I found that game kickass.

'tyleR
Orange Box is the best deal ever. I find $20 for three games a pretty good deal' date=' too. ;P Portal was a good game, surprisingly. It had some lulz, as well. The Cake is a Lie......

Grouping them together in rating would mean that the faults and positives of each game determines how all 3 are considered.4) I don't agree for the most part with the list, but the top 10 of that list is pretty well done.5) People are obsessing over Japanese games, refusing to acknowledge the quality outside of something from Japan. ~Emo~
Needs more Final Fantasy. Final fantasy is not that great of a franchise imo. DOOM is not on here, why would you not include the first FPS ever!?!
