"So Scipio, when did you plan on telling that girl what you really look like? I'm not too sure she'd be giggling if she knew she was flirting with a grumpy old wolf." Lucia jokingly said to Scipio. The two moved outside where Hayate and Orepalos hadn't made a whole lot of progress. Granted, they hadn't had long to get going. Lucia stepped up to the old man and began to assist him walk. With two helping they began to actually move at a decent pace.

"So how is it you get anywhere in your condition? You don't seem like you could travel long distances." Lucia said to Orepalos. This man seemed to be plagued by some disease. It had to be more than old age, old age didn't have people coughing up blood.

"More importantly, you said you might be able to put it out?" she said.

Scipio glared at Lucia. "Please, I'm not old. I'm pretty sure I'm around your age. Second of all, who said I couldn't be in this form for a while?" As they approached the burning cathedral, citizens had their mouths agape at the horror of the destruction. Guards had barricaded the church as men passed down buckets in hopes of putting out the burning building. A sigh escaped form Scipio's mouth, as they were pushed by children running towards their homes and royals storming off angrily at the incompetence of the citizens.

Hayate alongside Lucia was helping Orepalos toward the scene of the fire. "Old man what is this? You are telling me you have the power to put out this big of a fire?" The party of four had just reached the gates of the Cathedral as they could hear screaming and yelling from the people trying to put out the fire.

"Lucia, we have to help these people, although I'm glad that its not my Masters Cathedral I know what type of place this means for the towns people." Hayate was now dragging the old man with everything he had to get him close to the fire, he nearly pulled the old mans arm that Lucia was holding out of socket.

Orepalos managed to reach the burning cathedral with the help of Hayate, his breath heavy and hoarse. He sat down on the ground for a second, catching his breath and coughing a bit. After a few more seconds, Orepalos got up and and straighten himself out. He raised his staff and began to say an incantation.

"Focalor, high lord of water, exalted is your empire of water. Bring the dark deluge upon my enemies, ones who oppose your watery reign. Show no mercy and drown them in the eternal waters of your Empire! Fist of Focalor!"

Orepalos raised his staff, which was glowing a dark blue. Then, a massive flood of water burst from the ground around the chapel, knocking back some of the townspeople who were throwing water on it. The geyser drenched the fire with streams of hot water and steam. The cathedral was drowned with a deluge of water, quickly putting out the fire. Unfortunately, the flood did not stop when the fire was put out and continued to drench the cathedral. When the flood finally stopped, the cathedral had taken substantial damage from the flood.

"Well...That didn't go as planned. At least the cathedral is mostly intact..."

JAck had landed behind the group and donned his cloak as Orepalos finished the fire. "Yes.... I wonder what caused it..." He mused aloud. He had his bag on his back. Granted, they could not see it as it was under his cloak. He stood stoic, looking at the burnt cathedral, both eyes standing out in the darkness. His hood was up, as to keep himself further away from the world. He was insecure in that way. Then, he had a mood swing. "So what's up?" He asked with a smile, ignoring the cathedral.

The display of power on Orepalos' part had stunned Lucia. So much so that she had accidentally not heard Jack's approach. She certainly hadn't been expecting anything on that level to put out a building fire.

"That was amazing! I had no idea you had so much power!" she said in shock. Then she had another idea that made her angry, or rather panicked.

"Wait, what if someone was in there?!" she yelled. Upon that she ran up to the cathedral. She was planning to run inside to see if anyone was left in the building, and not drowning. The building's structure was quite compromised both from the fire and the very recent flood. She had no idea but if she continued, Lucia would most likely be walking into her own death.

ooc: Okay guys, I know we're not exactly into much of the action yet, but why does inactivity plague this thread so? I'm just asking all to stay active, and once I get all of the characters in the action will pick up, a lot.

Orepalos lowered his arms to inspect the damage he had caused. He knew that this would happen and he knew that if there were survivors inside the cathedral, they would certainly be dead now, but if he had not put out the fire, it would spread to the surrounding buildings. Orepalos shuffled closer to the ruined cathedral, looking at the burnt and drenched cathedral. He saw that the pink haired girl had rushed into the cathedral, looking for survivors. As he got closer, the firefighters confronted Orepalos, forcing him into the wall of the cathedral.

"Hey! We told you a million times! We don't want your freakin' help ever! You always make things worse! Now anyone in the cathedral is dead and its all your fault! Go back to the hole you came from!" shouted the leader of the firefighters as the firefighters around him grumbled in agreement.

"Well that was quite rude! You should treat your elders with more respect! I put out the fire! If I had not, the fire would have spread to the whole town!" Orepalos rebuttled, pushing back the leader.

"We could have done that ourselves without killing everyone in the cathedral! Your arcane artes can't help anyone with anything! All they can do is kill and destroy everything! Get out of here!" another firefighter said, pushing Orepalos into the wall again. Orepalos was left speechless. The firefighter then left Orepalos alone, walking back to their homes. Orepalos dusted himself off and let out a little sigh.

Jack got in front of that firefighter that pushed Orepalos. "Is that any way to treat an elderly man?" He growled, both eyes full of rage. "Go make up for it, NOW!" He snapped at the man. He held his hand at ready with a staff. He figured since he wa already shunned, he had nothing to lose. "DO I have to force you?" He asked, eyes searing into the man. He gripped the staff tighter and prepared to force him.

Before Jack could attempt anything, Scipio grabbed part of the staff. Only visible to the inheritors, black tendrils seemed to come out from Scipio's wrist. They wrapped themselves around the staff, at this moment Jack's willpower slowly began to drop. As if he couldn't move his arms. "I'm sorry about my friend Jack here. He didn't mean anything. So please, be on your way." As the fire fighter left, Scipio let go. A quick glare to Jack said everything he didn't feel like saying aloud.

((Black tendrils of symbolism are fun. Andx, if you want to know what I'm planning, PM. Or if you want to keep it a surprise. :3))

Lucia simply looked around at how no one even wanted to see if the people had lived. This infuriated her. People just standing around instead of even trying. Lucia noticed the fireman insulting Orepalos and Scipio doing something very odd to Jack but she didn't make much of it. Her only thought was to check on the people inside. She ran to the door of the Cathedral, ignoring the warnings of several members of the fire squadron.

"Even if it's too late, I have to be sure! If even one person could be saved, it's worth trying!" she thought as she opened the door to the very weak building. She ran inside the building that would collapse in another ten minutes or so.

ooc: Go ahead and surprise me Fenrir.

Hayate had all ready gone inside the building, he had jumped through a open window before Orepalos performed his technique. He ran around the building for some time looking for any one that was still in the building. Finlay as he entered a room he found a passed out Priest that had fallen from smoke inhalation.

Hayate assessed the surroundings verifying that no one else was inside the room. Grabbing a robe of the altar he rapped the priest in it before picking him up and heading out the door. Hayate ran through the flames as his flesh began to burn. Hayate entered the room where he had first entered as Orepalos had just used the technique. All of a sudden Hayate was drenched in water and the weight of it toppled him over.

Once the Water seized Hayate got up his legs and arms had minor burns on them and he couched up water. Hayate then checked on the priest who had hit the table as Hayate fell. Hayate noticed that the Priest was now bleeding from his left arm where a piece of wood had cut him. As Hayate picked the priest back up he could hear Lucia as she called out to any possible survivors. Hayate started to walk a bit as his right leg gave out. Hayate looked down at his leg as he still held the priest above the flooding water. Hayate's leg was gashed open mostly likely from falling. "sheet," he said looking at his gushing leg. "LUCIA OVER HEAR," Hayate shouted. He tried the best he could to get Lucia or someone else to help them.
