Here's a quick text tutorial for those of you who want to know how to do it.

[spoiler=Tutorial]NOTE: When I refer to flow in this tutorial, I used the direction of the characters eyes.

Paste your stock onto your background layer, making sure to keep it a stock. Now, whip out a grunge brush and smudge the background in the direction of your flow, and try to make the character blend with the background.

(While doing the smudging, try to smudge in the direction of your flow.)

Now, add a new layer, and on that new layer, brush a bit with some black grunge brushes, and then set the layer to soft light. Now, erase what looks bad.

After that, add a new layer. This layer will be to add some more flow. Get the vine brush, and brush in the direction of your flow. Remember not to get it on the character, and make sure you draw 2 lines on each side of your character, dont brush the whole background. Afterward, desaturate the layer, then set it to overlay. Get your "Circle Fuzzy" brush and slightly brush the vines in the direction of your flow.

Now for the part that makes everyones sigs differ. C4D's and Textures. Find a nice C4D that goes in the direction of your flow. Add it on a new layer on Screen, then erase what doesn't look good. Now, get an abstract brush, and smudge some of C4D to make it blend.

Now, on a new layer, simply add a good effect C4D, then set the blending mode to screen, and erase what looks bad.

Now, you want to find a good Light Texture. It is hard to say what blending mode to put it on, but for my sig, I used darken only. It turned out good, only showing up in the corners. Now, finally, find a great grunge texture. Put it on a new layer, set it to soft light, and erase the texture on the character.

To add lighting, get a Fuzzy Circle brush, and set your colour to white, and then lightly brush where the light would be, using your stock as a reference. Then, gaussian blur the lighting layer and there ya have your lighting.

Now, this is optional, but adds depth to your sig. Get the Blur/Sharpen tool, and sharpen your focal point, and blur the background. This adds depth to your signature.

Finally, add a Purple/Orange gradient map on Soft Light with a fairly low opacity to givew some colour to your sig.
