My First RPG...well here anyway:

 

[spoiler=Plot]Time. A constant in the Universe. Mortals moniter time using Clocks. As time passes, the world changes. Sometimes slowly, sometimes rapidly. Sometimes subtly, others noticably. And sometimes, Time is Distorted.

 

In the city of Hitotoki, there never seems to be enough Time. People are constantly in a rush, and shortcuts are a common thing. Everyday people hope to find a new shortcut, someway by which to reach their destination faster. It is this attempt to save Time that led a High School Student to discover a backalley route that came to be known as the Corpse Alley, a series of Alleyways that smelled of the dead. Despite this, the student used the route everyday as it cut their time almost in half. One day though, the student vanished. It was then that rumors of an Antiques Store began to surface. Said to be found at the end of the Courpse Alley, no matter which way was taken. However, it could only be found at 12:30 and 6:00, when the hands of a clock are vertically aligned.

 

Following the emersion of this rumor, more and more people began to venture down the Alley. No one ever returned. With the diappearences mounting, the Police began to block the route off. As time passed, people forgot why it was blocked off, and just avoided it due to the smell and out of the norm. But the Time has come when someone ventures into the Alley again.

 

[spoiler=Description for those who don't know what Persona is...]Okay, if you've clicked this, you don't know what Persona is. So here's a description.

Shin Megami Tensei: Persona is a series of Japanese RPGs. In them, players control a nameless silent protagonist through High School. There are 4 main games in the series. I've played 3 and 4. So my description may be limited.

First off, what is a Persona?

In the games, Personas are the manifestation of the facades people put up to protect themselves from the terrors of the outside world.

So in these games the plot is always unusually complex.

In #3, the player is part of a small group of people who are still active during the Dark Hour, a time that starts at Midnight when normal time is halted. Lasting for one hour, it is a time when creatures known as Shadows come out to hunt for people who have randomly stayed awake during the Dark Hour. Normally people transfigurate into coffins for the duration of the Dark Hour. Those that don't, are devoured by the Shadows, becoming something akin to zombies.

The few that are constantly awake at the time band together as SEES, using gun-shaped devices called Evokers to call forth their Personas to fight the Shadows, climbing their way up the tower Tarterus, home of the shadows.

In #4, a rumor is spread around about the Midnight Channel. It's said that if you stare at a TV that's off when you're in a room alone on a rainy night at Midnight, then you'll see another person in the TV, a person who is supposed to be your soul mate.

However when the protagonist tries this, they discover that the person in the TV is not their soulmate. The TV is a warning. The person who appears on the Midnight Channel will be found dead as the fog from the previous night's rain dispurses the next day.

In both these games the Protagonists are contacted by a being known as Igor, a mysterious old man who lives in the realm called The Velvet Room. He offers advice and allows players to fuse Personas to make stronger ones.

Another important thing is Social Links.

These RPGs were half FF-style RPG, and half dating sim. The interesting thing is that the two parts were mixed. As you built the relationships in the dating sim part of the game, called Social Links, you gained exp. for certain kinds of Personas. by building up relationships, you could create more powerful Personas.

As such, relationships will be very important in this RPG.

As such I expect...well mature and complex RPing.

Other than that, I'm sorry for the story. I wanted to make an RP, a Persona one, and that story is the best I could come up with for Persona...yeah.

[spoiler=4: The Emperor]The Emperor symbolizes the desire to control one's surroundings, and its appearance could suggest that one is trying too hard to achieve this, possibly causing trouble for others; some elements in life are just not controllable. Gameplay-wise, the Personae of the Emperor Arcana are Personae typically excelling in lightning-based attacks.

 

[spoiler=5: The Hierophant]The Hierophant is a symbol of education, authority, conservatism, obedience to rules and relationship with the divine. The definition of a "hierophant" is a person who interprets sacred mysteries or esoteric principles, and the term was originally used to name ancient Greek priests who did so. Gameplay-wise, the Personae of the Hierophant Arcana have no weaknesses, but excel in none as well.

 

[spoiler=6: The Lovers]The Lovers Arcana initially represented two paths life could lead to, and thus a symbol of standing at a crossroad and needing to make a decision. Today, however, it is portrayed more of a symbol of love and romantic relationships, although it can also be a symbol of finding agreement with an ordinary friend or even two conflicting elements within. Gameplay-wise, the Personae of the Lovers Arcana are commonly associated with Support-Healing attributes.

Gameplay-wise, the Personae of the Strength Arcana are commonly Personae excelling in Physical attributes.

The Personae of the Death Arcana are commonly associated with an excel in Dark-based affinities and physical attacks, but are weak towards light-based affinities.

The World Arcana is commonly associated with Social Links, where it's power is based upon a person's bonds with others, thus giving their Persona unimaginable power. (In other worlds, the power of Personas of 'The World' are based entirely on Social Links. While other Persona just get bonus power, The World Personas get all their power from Social Links. So lots of Social Links = Insane Power, Few Social Links = Little Power)

Biography: Leto was born into a performing family, she was raised to be a performer in a world-famous traveling circus, and that she was, from the time the girl was twelve years old to as recently as last year, Leto traveled the world performing on stage, the first part of her stage name meant "secret" she'd chosen it intentionally at the age of 16, because she was hiding a secret from her family. She wanted more, yes, she loved the spotlight, but she craved it on a more personal level, she wanted to settle down and be loved. Finally, at the age of 18 she left the circus to settle down in the city, and hopefully find someone who loved her.

Persona Appearence: The laughing fool stands at roughly the same hight as Leto, however, she wears very baggy rainbow coloured breaches with frills on the ankles, she wears curved wooden shoes and a white shirt hidden under a jacket that matches the pants, her head is adorned by a full-face rainbow-colored mask, only showing eye holes and a large smiling mouth, and a typical "Jester's hat" a rainbow colored one with long tails ending in small bells.

She loved collectibles, and continually searched the shelves of some store for something she wanted, like the SEES band she received for her 10th birthday. Although she eventually calmed down her violence, she still is a force when she needs to be.

Biography: Leon is just a student who was born into a middle-class family. He always studied hard, and has always been approved of. When he was not at school or at home, he was playing football, baseball or having fun with his friends. When he was 13 years old, his parents moved to the city of Hitotoki. Since they moved Leon has had to play alone as he has not made friends in this new city. He just has time to study. Now he is trying to adapt on the new city and make new friends.

Biography: A young girl who has grown up without the support of family, her friends provide her with all the support she's ever had in life. As such she has become more cynical than a regular person, but at the same time can maintain a friendly personality most of the time. With time moving on, she grew up and experienced a rather...truamatic event in her life. This event caused her to create a persona...and from that point shadows began to hunt her. She then decided to fight these beings off whenever she saw them, for they remind her of the pain she's lived through.
