Hogwarts RP: Redo! STARTED--ACCEPTING~New classes added!

The ghost looked at him coolly. "Alright, I shall do it. Only on one condition." She looked triumphant. "A horse travels the same distance every day. Oddly, two of its legs travel 30 miles each day and the other two legs travel nearly 31 miles. It would seem that two of the horse's legs must be one mile ahead of the other two legs, but of course this can't be true. Since the horse is normal, how is this situation possible?" The grey lady looked at Angus awaiting the answer.

Angus thought about it, he had absolutely no idea, he pondered long and hard, perhaps - no the horse was nornal. Maybe the horse traveled around the curve of a race-course and thus it's outside legs were traveling a longer distance. He was stumped by this one, it didn't make a lot of sense, The Grey Lady had a nasty habbit of doing this. The fate of the school might well depend on his answer to this question. He was under a lot of pressure here, if he failed then this could be disasterous.

Angus whispered to Alyssa. "I have no bloody idea what she's on about, have you got anything?"

Kaze's grandfather was too in ravenclaw and loved giving her riddles which she absolutly hated. This was one of the questions that made her hate that. She would think about it long and hard everyday when visting her grandparents. Kaze never fully understood the riddle but this was the answer that kept popping into her head. "Ummm. Grey Lady is it that the back legs are carrying the front legs?"

 

OoC: I acctually have heard this one from my grandfather who tells riddles LOL

"Wrong. You have one more try." The grey lady said.

 

Alyssa knew the answer. "Tell her the horse is operating a grain mill!" she said urgently. "My mother told me that one!" Her mother had a certain prowess at solving riddles, and she was a Ravenclaw when she went to Hogwarts. Alyssa looked at the Grey Lady and said, "The horse is operating a grain mill!" The Grey lady turned to her and said, "correct. Now I will help you. Tell me what I must do."

"All we need of you is for you to look inside the Room of Requirement every hour or so to find the attacker. We have strong evidence to believe the one who petrified the other students is hiding in there." Kaze said quickly. The Grey Lady looked impressed. "Well, I can't believe you found the attackers hidout but there is one flaw in your plan. If you enter the Room of Requirement without thinkinng what you want and it opening for you all you find is a broom closet and if I get in the same room as the attack they probably with have some kind of plan to disguse themselves."

[Drunken Fist]

Jason was in the common room thinking about nohing to important, he had been laying for about 20 minutes before he decided to walk around the school heading to the great hall he only wanted something to do and siting there was enough marvelling the bewitched sky as he laed back on a seat

"I've never realised the beauty of this sky" Jason thought to himself as he sat up again "I wonder what the other guys are doing it be nice to finish that quidditch match from earlier"

"Milady! The horse is operating a grain mill!" Angus gave a look of relief to Alyssa and smiled, with that one tiny shread of knowledge that would otherwise be irrelivant Alyssa had seemingly saved the school. he awaited The Grey Lady's response anxiously, what if there were multiple answers and Helena wanted the other one. Or what if Alyssa got the riddle slightly wrong, or was thinking of another riddle that her mother told her, there could be a million answers really, Angus was sure of that.

 

OoC: That was a bloody hard riddle, well done.

Zach after sitting on the couch for a while drifted into an uneasy sleep, thinking about what the others were doing. Fortunalntley this was the rarest of rare slepps where Zach did not have one of his dreams. The flashback before was enough punishment. But he did dream he dreamt of the assailant cloaked in dark shadows. Zach was chained to a wall his wand just out of reach. The figure raised his wand and suddenly all his new friends appeared kneeling on the hard earth. blood and tears stained their faces. Then the figure raised his wand again and one by one shot a spell at them. No not the petrifying spell, no the Avada Kadava curse. His friends fell one by one with a look of horror on their faces and a mixed look of, "why? why didnt yo help us?" Zach screamed out. The figure turned around and laughed a horrible, evil, sinister laught that sent chills through your veins like icicles. The man sent the difindo spell severing the chains. He kicked Zach in the face and slowly tortured him with the cruciatus curse. Zach finally closed his eyes as the man cast the killing curse. Zach sat up like a bolt, and as he put his hand to his head he was covered in cold sweat.

OoC: i made a post a while ago stating i went back to the common room before the subject of the grey lady came up so i never went to divintation

Jason started walking again trying to find the guys from earlier he was happy he finally found some people who didnt trest him like any other Slytherin, he started up in the hospital wing he got there and noticed that Kaze was'nt there

"ahh Professor, where is Kaze" he said as looked at the bed where she was

"the headmaster let her go"she said ruffling some thing together

"okay thanks" Jason left and kept wandering trying to find them he finally thought he had enough

"if I'm patient enough they'll find me I guess they would wanna finish it to"

IC: The Grey Lady bowed at Angus and asked, "What should I do?" and waited for one of their replies. Alyssa decided to take the reins. "We need you to watch a certain room and tell us who enters it," said Alyssa. She looked over at the room of requirement, and the door had vanished. "It's a room that's been used in the room of requirement. You've heard of the attacks, right?" she asked. "Well the person that's been attacking students has been using the room of requirement as a hideout. We need you to watch it for us."

"Very well. I will tonight after dinner. Meet me here at eight o'clock, which I believe is an hour before curfew for the students." the Grey Lady sighed and disappeared into a wall.

"That was Brilliant! You were brilliant Alyssa! We make a really great team! I swear I could ki-" he trailed off, he was about to say he could kiss her, it was more simply an expression of excitment and gratitude then anything else, but Angus wasn't entirely sure that that was all he meant by it. He was now blushing brightly, which was very much uncommon for Angus. He normally wasn't shy at all.

"You don't have the time do you?" He was trying to get off the subject now, cover up what he'd just said.

Alyssa didn't have a watch. "Nope," she wondered why Angus seemed to be blushing, but dismissed it for a trick of the light. "But I know from the people going to the great hall," she looked over the banister of the staircase near them all the way down to the people filing into the great hall. "And from the darkening light outside that it's dinner time. I left my watch in the common room, after dinner I'll get it and meet you out here at eight." She smiled. "But for now, let's go to dinner, I'm starving!"

"Oh -" He was still blushing, he laughed a nervous, embaraced laugh. "I guess I just got too caught up in everything to notice." His Scottish accent was stronger then usual, it seemed to do that when he was nervous. And right now he was terrified that he was making an idiot out of himself infront of Alyssa, all the while realising that she had lovely eyes.

"I - I guess we'd best start walking then, we can't save the school on an empty stomach now can we?" He was attempting to make light of the situation, and probably failing absolutely miserably.

Alyssa just laughed and nodded, oblivious to Angus's discomfort, and they both continued down the large marble staircases that led to the Great hall. "Well, seeing as you're in Ravenclaw and I'm in Gryffindor, I'll see you later," Alyssa smiled at Angus and left for the table, feeling unusually girly and giddy. She wondered what it was. She sat down and grabbed some food and started eating. She looked around to see if she could find Kaze or Rae, but none of them were there. Strange.

Zach still horrified from his dreams didnt even move he noticed on the clock that it was time for dinner, but even the thought of eating made him sick. Plus all the bountiful feasts that hogwarts calls a meal would put him to sleep faster and he wasn't sure if he could or would ever sleep again. He struggled to stand up and go look in a mirror. His hair was a mess, his eyes were puffy and he felt sore all over. Over all he looked like a mess and felt like one two. He said to himself. "Note to self find counter spell to Duro." He sat back down on the couch and thought. "I'll fix up once dinner is almost over. No one will see me now.

Alyssa hoped to see Zach or at least one of her friends, but no one came. She only saw Angus sitting at the Ravenclaw table. She felt lonely so she finished up her meal quickly and went up to the common room to get her watch. She saw Zach walking outside. "Oh hi, Zach...you look a little messed, what's wrong?" she asked tentatively. She didn't want to get personal on him. "I didn't see you anywhere this afternoon after the quidditch practice..."

Angus sat down. He wasn't really too hungry, being nervous tended to mess with his appitite, but he knew he needed to eat somthing, keep his strength up. With that in mind, he took a small serve of roasted chicken and some mashed potatoe, he applied a little gravy to the dish, and took a mug of butterbeer too. He ate rather slowly, forcing himself more then anything. Every so often he would look over to the Gryffindor table. after doing this for a few minutes he sighed.

"What if she thinks I'm creepy? I mean I'm two years older then her, it must worry her a bit. I'm really starting to like her, but if it's creeps her out and ruins our friendship, I don't know what I'll do."

IC: Alyssa snapped herself out of her fantasy. He was two years older than her! She didn't want to creep him out. She passed Zach and went into the Gryffindor common room and grabbed her watch. It was 7:45 and she couldn't afford to be detained by suspicious teachers. She decided to take a shortcut, after perusing the Marauder's Map and went into a tapestry and emerged inside the hospital wing. She saw a new form in a bed, but it was dark and she couldn't see. After closer inspection, it was Blues! She had to tell Angus and the rest of her friends about this. She would later. She hurried along the passageway out of the hospital wing and avoided any teachers that showed up on the map. She finally got to the seventh floor corridor with five minutes to spare.

Zach saw Alyssa speed in grab something and speed out. He thought to himself. "Thank god she was in such a hurry she didn't notice his horrible appearance." "well time to get changed before someone actually notices me." Zach says to himself. Zach goes to the bathroom and pulls out his wand. He casts augamenti because he thinks that water is the coldest and the most pure. He washes his face off and combs his hair. Just then he realizes something. From the looks of things Alyssa went off alone. He wouldn't let anything happen to her or anyone else. He bolted down the corridor just in time to see Her slip into a tapestry. He follows her to the hospital wing and sees blues. "No not another one! No they are becoming more frequent now. Maybe they found out we were in thier room and decied to use this as a warning. He chased after Alyssa And out of breath stops down the hall from her as she stands by the room of requirement. He sees the pices of parchment he left earlier and casts a light string of Incendio to burn it. He sits against the wall and casts a detector spell to see if anyone is around.

Alyssa turned around to hear whispering and almost jumped out of her skin. "Ah, hello, Zach!" she said cheerfully. "Um you haven't had dinner yet, have you?" she asked. "I'm waiting for Angus here, we're meeting with the ghost the grey lady to see if we can find who's using the Room of Requirement to hide out in about three minutes." She said in one breath. She paused. "You want to join us? The more help we get the better." She smiled at him. She was already liking Angus but she liked Zach as a friend. "I can't wait to see who's behind all of these attacks!" she said excitedly. She then turned to a more mournful note. "You saw Blues in the hospital wing, right? It's sad..." she said. "Someone's going to have to take care of his skrewt."

IC: Zach nodded. "Sure. It beats sleeping on a couch." He cracks his back. "Ya I forgot about his skrewt." He sits back Against the wall avoiding the temptaion to fall asleep. "You know what this means. That one of us is next most likely you because you've been doing alot more then I have, or Angus has. Also I think that maybe the attacker found out we were in there this morning and he used blues as an warning to us."

Angus, not one to be late, especially not to spend any time with someone he was crazy about jogged up stairs, The Grey Lady wasn't likely to wait around for them either. Finally he made it up the stairway, with only a few annoying last-second changes, he saw Alyssa and and Zack and he joined them, smiling.

"Hey Alyssa -" He panted a little, after running up all the stairs and what-not on a fulls stomach -"Zach." He smiled at Alyssa, and sort of wondered why Zack was there. His Scottish accent was getting quite strong now. He could only hope that Alyssa liked it.

"We haven't missed The Grey Lady have we?"

Alyssa smiled. She thought Angus's accent was kind of cute. "Nope. We haven't missed her. And Zach's here to help, if you were wondering." She thought for a moment. "Hey...you sure do look in need of shortcuts through the castle," she giggled. "I'll send you a copy of the marauder's map for christmas if you'd like...as an early christmas present I mean." she laughed nervously. "If you want it, I mean..." To save her from embarassment, the Grey lady floated in to the seventh floor corridor through a wall, a half smile on her face.

"I am ready. Tell me what I must do." she said to the three students.

"That would be great Alyssa! I'd really like that." Angus noticed the ghosts' arival a little late.

"Oh! Milday! Terribly sorry I didn't see you there -" Angus bowed to the ghost as a sign of respect. "Now, Miss Ravenclaw, what we ask of you is that you infultrait the room of requirment, the natural stealth you have as a ghost is a resource that none of us have. The fate of the school may well hang in the balance. Once inside the room, milady, your task would be to gather all the information you can on the attacker, so that he can be bought to justice."
