Welcome to Monochrome Skies! This is my first hosted RP!

This is an RP set in the future after the Grand RESET, an event that tossed architecture to be based highly off of that in the middle ages, only using much newer technology. Duel Runners are still around, though they are extremely expensive, and much newer, lightweight portable versions of a Duel Runner's computer can now be placed on animals.

 

The Advanced Clause.

 

Here are the rules for this RP. Due to it being Advanced, I have included an Advanced Clause (Mandatory by new rules), though I have created this one myself.

 

Post length

Posts in this Role Play should have a minimum of FIVE complete sentences.

EXAMPLE: "Of course you may," the woman stated, handing a bowl of the thick, sweet stew to the young man.

I understand what happens in this world, but please, nothing that you would mind a small kid seeing. Lots of people lie about their age, and I don't want this shut down because a small kid reads something and a mod is PM'ed with a complaint.

 

Setting

 

Era: Neos

60 years after the Great Corruption; 59 years after the Grand RESET.

 

Buildings are like that of ancient myth. Castles, palaces, and spires that extend over the peaks of Everest. There is one building that would make any lover of art cry over it's beauty; the Palace of Blyxwrath. Yes, the might palace was created as a symbol the Great Corruption was over, and has been constructed on ever since. The two current leaders are Queen Telos and her sister, Princess Hiyori. The two are protected by the Seven Guardians, an elite group consisting of the best combatants and Duelists in the world. They are some of the few that still own Duel Runners, and their Runners are capable of achieving supersonic speeds. There are no Runners faster than these, and the runners have the ability to transform into an Aeros Mode, allowing them to race across the skies on thin, blade-like jets.

 

New creatures have arisen, primarily large, bird-like creatures that roam freely. These creatures are perfect to place the new portable DRCPU onto, being organic duel runners.

 

Plot

The Council warned of this. Yes, it had been for all too long an omen of separation; an omen that clearly stated it would all end in a horrible civil war.

It started one year ago. On the anniversary of the Grand RESET, an attack was mounted against the Palace. People were shocked; such a kind, powerful nation hadn't done anything to create enemies; the world was a friend, and every nation soon united efforts to improve life; the Neos Era began entirely by the efforts of the first Blyxwrath monarchs.

 

The attack mounted was a hack; the palace has emergency weapons. This was due to a fear that the Corruption would arise again, and those who assisted in putting an end to it would need a safe headquarters at which they could plan to solve things once more. The weapons, many of which extremely powerful, launched, shattering protection fields, though invisible, that protected the palace. This was solved hastily, however, and there were no injuries. That fact that someone had been able to hack into the Royal Palace's mainframe, however, shocked the world; there was no safe place now!

 

Hiyori had been involved in the hacking, though it was never discovered, and those she worked with were never found. They simply fell back into the G.R.I.D (Grand Reset Internet Database), were all information input from computers is stored. Unlike the current internet, the G.R.I.D stores over one thousand times more data, and it is constantly monitored by the Imperial Database, all outlawed activity filtered and detected every portion of a millisecond.

 

After the hack, small groups began to develop, government putting things back in order. Then a large portion of the Eurasian continent broke out in opposition to the world order. Duelists battled officials, since due to the Corruption, the monsters depicted became real, only sealed within cards between duels. It appeared the Corruption was not over yet, and now the entire world is out to end this battle once and for all...

 

... For whom, however, is not clear.

Duel Runner Type: One of the two royal duel runners, Kayzyqueen is the fastest duel runner on the planet. Fastest known one anyways. It has six wings, and has a body with a diamond-like shape. Cards are placed across the front, as in most duel runners. It is somewhat jet-like, with being closed when the cockpit is sealed. It has a long, tapering tail that moves in flight, and though it seems purely aesthetic, it is made to increase the aerodynamic properties of the craft, and each tail contains a small locking mechanism. This is because the duel runner can merge with many other royal crafts, be them for weapons or recreational purposes. The wings are thin and blade-like, allowing the craft to glide near the ground and pass obstacles. The wings are also able to cut through some substances, such as wood and in some cases, stone. It is of a silver color with gold markings.

Personality: Telos is a rather energetic person, tending to spend her time playing games of craze when she isn't busy running the world. Being the Queen of the Blyxwrath Empire, she is often busy in meetings or social events, however, so she only finds solace during the morning time, before those with their complaints come to beg and plead to better themselves at the cost of harming others. She doesn't seem very compatible with people that wish such things, as she is of a generous nature when not angered. If crossed, however, she will be a rather mean person, often becoming of a rather parasitic nature, tricking and harassing to exact her revenge. She often will only do harmless pranks to her sister, Hiyori, but she is capable of going much further.

Family: Hiyori (Sister)

Looks (Amazing in short): Telos is, in general a very attractive person; a gift that is useful when you are publicized so frequently. Her hair is a beautiful shade of silver, perfect in quality. It stops midway between her shoulder blades, and it is straight, unlike the wavy hair her sister has. She is rather slender, with long arms and legs that are befitting for her height. She loves to be active, and it shows, her body shows muscles developed by constantly moving about and playing around. She also has soft, green eyes that seem to comfort all that look into their gaze. Her clothing often varies.

Strengths: Telos is strong of will and mind, and her body isn't that weak, either. She is very trusting and kind, especially if she's having a good day. She likes to run, and is pretty fast.

Weaknesses: Telos' trust is often easy to manipulate, unfortunately, and she can be considered naive. She also isn't extremely attentive if something bores her, and she will often daydream while listening to someone speak in a meeting.

Fears: The Queen fears the sight of blood, for some reason, and she is also afraid of many large birds. It isn't a life-absorbing fear, but it is a humorous sight to see her sheepishly approach the friendly creatures.

Desires: She wished to be as honorable a ruler as her the Blyxwrath before her, as well as getting away from her busy life. She hopes Hiyori will be able to rule some day.

Golden rays crept over the horizon, the orb of light that so gracefully brought life to the world lifting itself into the sky. Various hues swirled and mixed on the light blue canvas, pinks and purples fading into oranges. Daybreak at Blyxwrath Palace was something truly worth seeing.

 

Princess Hiyori was asleep, resting in her chamber under a warming sea of pink silk. She slept without much movement, holding on to the small toy she was given as a young girl. After the death of her parents, she decided to treasure it, and it never left her presence. Hiyori, in fact, considered mistreating Akio the Teddy Bear a crime unforgivable, and for the poor souls that accidentally forgot to address the toy when speaking, life cleaning up after the royal pets has not been pleasant. She slept in casual clothing, unlike the great robes the Blyxwrath were rumored to wear. On her torso was a shirt that clung to her rather slim frame, and she wore silk pants that stopped at her ankles.

 

"Hey, Hiyori! Get up! It's great outside today!"

 

Hiyori opened her eyes, shielding them with her hand from the light that filled her room. She lazily stood and slowly removed her hands, seeing Telos in front of her. "Why did you wake me up?" Hiyori sighed, then yawning.

 

"I woke you up to see if you wanted to play outside. I'm not starting a game without you."

 

"What are you playing?" Hiyori asked, glancing back over to her bed, longing to curl back up and return to the realm of dreams she was so abruptly snatched out of.

 

"We're playing a game of craze to eleven points. I was hoping you wanted to play; I have put on my armor."

 

Craze evolved from soccer, and it was one of the first new sports recognized worldwide in ages. It involves the use of a full-body gear called armor. Armor is created by Raver Industries and comes with different abilities and rarities, much like trading cards. Armor can fit any person, as it is purchased in an orb form that then fits to the form of whomever activates it. The most common armor is Gust, which simply gives the user a much stronger kick. Craze fields are five times the area of a soccer field, however, and the goals are the same size.

 

Unlike in soccer, however, craze fields have metal pedestals on the corners, each of which holding rings. Getting the ball through a corner ring is worth half of a point, while there is also a ring in the center of the goal requiring near perfect aim to successfully get the ball through. It is worth five points. Also, there are field obstacles based on the armor being used in the game and the team that is winning. If the winning team has all Gust, the field will alter to a stony region, making their armor almost useless. The rarest field is Void, appearing on a craze field about once every thousand games.

 

Hiyori sighed and nodded, asking that Telos wait for her. She agreed, yet upon hearing Hiyori snore from outside, walked away. She went ahead and sat outside, waiting for those she invited to arrive. He glistening red armor was Blaze, and it was armor designed for her. No one else had armor similar, and it allowed temporary flight, the strongest kick in the game, and the ability to use Buster Mode, which allowed the ball to become explosive or pass through stone objects. It had it's limits, however, though it was still considered too powerful for tournament play. She sighed and looked into the sky, which had now calmed from a sea of whirling hues to a rather monochrome sky.[/align]

Kaliya was napping in a tree a little over a dozen feet from Hiyori and Telos, rolling over onto her side, dangerously close to falling out of the tree and probably breaking a bone, but somehow she managed to stay on her branch, as always. Her hair, dark blond with a few streaks of metallic golds, reds, blues, and greens, fell down to hide her face, tanned enough to make determining her ethnicity purely guesswork, like the rest of her skin. She wore the same style of clothes as usual, a light sleeveless top and a short skirt, both slightly dirtied from the tree, but nothing too noticeable or significant that a ten second hand dusting couldn't fix.

Telos smiled as she looked to a tree standing near the craze field. She could see Kaliya resting on a branch, and she decided to greet her.

"Hello, Kaliya! How are you today?"

The Queen of Blyxwrath waved at the other, the wind picking up slightly. Slight gusts sent leaves in spirals, though there was nothing much more powerful than a decent breeze. The Queen's eyes were curious, as always, and though her expression did so for her, she asked, "Why are you in a tree?" with a light, innocent voice. While she waited for a response, she looked around, seeming to only notice the beauty of the world around her when in the presence of others. Birds chirped at a distance, and each blade of grass seemed unique as she touched them with her hand. It was funny to her that one of the most common, overlooked things was so vibrant. Perhaps that was how the Blyxwrath people were. All normal, common people; not royalty like Telos, though they were all different. They had their own problems, their own dreams...

Telos looked back to Kaliya, blinking her eyes as if her thoughts were displayed on her cornea, and blinking wiped that board.[/align]

William got up from his seat and started pacing. "When do we start. My deck is itching for some royal blood." He looked over at Reaver. Reaver just shrugged.

He was getting very frustrated. The resistance was suppose to strike several days ago, however the plan was put off after their plans went astray.

"If we don't attack soon, I'm going to do it myself" Will said. He sat back down and grabbed a glass of wine.

"Calm down William. The time will come, until then just chill." William swallowed the glass of wine in one gulp. No better way to pass time than with a drink.

"I was sleeping..." Kaliya said, putting a not-so-subtle emphasis on the second word and not bother to hide the annoyance in her voice "Milady." She added, as if an after-thought, and, knowing her, it probably was. She sighed and shook her head, brushing a few leaves and twigs out of her hair, and then yawned quietly and stretched, almost falling off the branch in the process, before swinging her legs over the branch and looking down at the Queen "What are you doing on the ground staring at me?" She asked, putting a haughty smirk on her face and patting the dirt off her clothes "See, just as weird of a question."
