"Oh," Tiberius says with a look around the room. "Seems like a very good room. Not that I can complain, seeing how I've been living in this box since the age of nine. But well, You wanna chill with me guys? I'm sure my roomies won't mind and i would love the company." If anything he loved Alyssa like a future wife and Riki like a little sister.

Alyssa smiled at Tiberius. "I have a deck of cards, I'll go pick it up now." She left the room momentarily and returned with a box of cards. "I'll go get Riki. You can stay here if you like or come with me." she left the room, and went back down to the dinner hall. "Riki if you'd like we're going to play some games and get some homework done in Tiberius's room. Would you like to come? We'll always be open if you want." She smiled at Riki then left back for Tiberius's room.

"I'll wait for you hear," Tiberius said as laid down on his new bed. Tiberius watched as his girlfriend left the room to get the game, Riki or both. 'This bed feels good,' Tiberius thinks. 'It's 3 times better than the ground or the trees. Man this school has it all. Now if this school had a powerade machine that was free, I would be in heaven.'

"Riki, do you know how to play blackjack?" Alyssa asked. "We'll play Blackjack." She saw Riki's tired condition. "Hey RIki, are you okay?" she asked worriedly. "You look tired...it was the tai chi right? If you don't want to play, it's okay, you can sleep in our room..." she said as she dealed blackjack.

"Okay the object of the game is to get close to 21. If you get over 21, you lose..." she went on to explain the rules of Blackjack to Tiberius, and Riki if she didn't know how to play before.

"I've played Blackjack before, yeah.... And, I'm a little under the condition of 'OK'. I am tired, though, really tired. The tai chi... I just can't get it. For my whole life..." Riki said, breaking off, laying down on a bed. "I'm not going to play, you and Tiberius can. Thanks for letting me sleep here..." Riki said, breathing in deeply. "Oh, I haven't told you about my life before I went to this Academy yet, right?"

"No, not really..." Alyssa said as she dealed to Tiberius only and answered his requests of "Hit" and "Stay" and "Double". "Where were you, Riki?" she smiled at the tired form of the girl. She looked at the cards and she had a sixteen. SHe decided to hit, to test her luck, and she busted. Tiberius showed her his cards and she saw that he had a twenty. He won.

"No actually," Tiberius said. "But then again, no one here has told their backstory. Well, I've told part of mine to Alyssa, but that's it. How bout this? We'll take turns telling stories of our lives? That way we can apprieciate each other a bit more. And we will each have a understanding of which each of us come from."

"Alright, I guess I'll go first..." Alyssa muttered as she dealed again and took Tiberius's requests for hit, stay, or double. "I basically lived a normal life and went to a proper private school in Pennsylvania. I then came here when my mother discovered I was floating in the middle of a night and almost had a concussion." she smirked as she remembered the image, but not too meanly.

"I'll go." Riki said, gaining strength back. "Well, I lived a pretty normal life in japan. Abuse, high expectations, labor." Riki said, shrugging. "The labor laws are different in japan. Well, my mom is nice, my nanny was nice. My dad is an uptight man in a monkey-suit. An evil man. I didn't like the teacher for combat because he had the same voice as my dad." Riki said, her head down. "He never really loved me, he just wanted a kid to show off. Well, when he found out that I was 'different', he hated me. He sent me to america. He never wanted to see me again." RIki said, silent tears straming down her face.

"Riki," Tiberius says with tears coming down his eyes. "It is okay. I can feel your pain. It is alright to cry, For crying helps us come to terms with things we haven't yet dealt with and makes it easier for us to understand. Everyone us has many demons. I have too many to count."

Alyssa sat down on the bed next to Riki and hugged her, almost crying herself. "We have no idea how you feel. I am saying that so blatantly because I have had a normal life, and we understand that it must be hard for you. But, now that you have us, for your own good, it's better to forget about him. It will help you overcome your demons inside of you. I'm sorry for you." she said simply, then delt another set of cards to Tiberius and herself, not really concentrating on the game again.

"I feel that the game has lost all importance," Tiberius said. "I rather we try to help each other through our tough points now. It seems better that we get this out in the open. I guess that means it's my turn then." Tiberius finishes the statement looking around for confirmation.

"Well," Tiberius starts of in his mode for telling a tale of his life. "I did not not know who my father was because he died before my mother gave birth. I lived with my mom until I turned 5. Then, from some new disease, She died. I was sent to a foster home. The worst 4 years of my life. It was like all they wanted was a slave. And well, perhaps I should show you." Tiberius the takes of his shirt. Scars as big a whip were seen all over his torso. Some of the scars were deep. "They did this to me," Tiberius continued. "when I turned 9, I couldn't take it anymore. I ran away and began to live on the street. At the time, I was chased by many people. Gangs, Police, everybody it seemed. then I roamed until I stopped outside of this academy. I have lived in that box, stealing food and other things i needed to survive. Had this school not accepted me, I probably would have moved into the forest to live with the wolves." Tiberius ended his tale and a tear trailed down his face.

Alyssa couldn't take all this sadness. She ran over, tears streaming down her face, and hugged Tiberius. "I feel so sad..." she said. "I definitely would hate to be whipped, and how angry at those people and sad for you I am...well, words would definitely be inadequate!" she exclaimed and stepped back in thought. "If they were here I would beat the-- never mind." She sat back down and sighed.

"No it is alright," Tiberius said as tears rolled down his face. "I have learned that this hasn't changed who I am. I thank whatever deity is up there that he let me live to see you and Riki. You are the family that I never had. I feel as though a weight has lifted off my shoulders."

Alyssa smiled and said, "I'm glad you've healed. So do you want to learn the new card game or do you want to stop for a bit?" she asked gently. She wasn't being ignorant or obtrusive, she just wanted to navigate away from the uncomfortable and sad subject. She looked out of the window, the sky was starry and the moon was full. She turned the desk light on to make the room a bit brighter.
