The League of Light and Dark

You know those moments where you have nothing to do and you devote yourself to one thing. When I have nothing to do, I start writing duelling stories of YuGiOh.

However the people in this story devote their lifes to become the best duellists in the world. And all of them at some way have been abandoned by their family, friends. They all have something in common, they all aim to get back their family honour, to get back what they really deserve, respect and a good life. But sometimes things get on their way and you have to battle to see the difference between the light and the dark.

This story has nothing to do with my other storie, "The Dark Duellist Saga".

Chapterlist:

Chapter 1 "Ryu`s story......"

Chapter 2 "Rough Samantha"

Here is chapter 1. Hope you like it.

Chapter 1 “Ryu`s story……”

I remember …… I remember that the car I was sitting in was riding past a couple of trees. And suddenly that I heard a bang and saw a flash. The tree caught fire and it came crashing into our car. I remember my mother looking to me and the last thing I remember was that I saw her smile.

Cold floor, he saw a lot of trees around him. Ryu opened his eyes. “Where …… where am I?” He looked around, but he did not see anyone near him. The last thing he remembered was the smile on the face of his mother. He felt a sudden fear coming up inside him. Where were his parents? Where was his sister? Were they alright.

I remember sitting in the back of the car alone. My father and mother were laughing, they had a good evening. I did not, however, I had a bad evening. I was chased around the house of the people who invited me and my parents to the party. I was chased around by their dogs. And when I finally was able to escape from them, I met Patrick and his buddies. They did not want to talk to me. I was a noshow, someone what they deemed to be imperfect.

Ryu was helped up. He could not see who did so, but he did know it was a man. The man smelled badly, had no perfume on. Ryu could not resist in anyway to what the man did. The man dragged him to a wooden cabin in the woods.

When the door closed, Ryu was pushed on a chair. The man took a wet towel and gave it to Ryu. Ryu washed his head with it, although he was more looking to the man. The man was short, had long hair reaching his feat. “Who……,” Ryu started, but the man held his hand up. “My name is Kaguremoshi. You probably ask why I helped you and more importantly why you are here.” Ryu nodded. Before he wanted to say something, the man pushed him back on a bed. “You need to sleep. Sleep can heal countless wounds.”

Before Ryu closed his eyes, he took the hand of Kaguremoshi and looked him right in his eyes. “Not those wounds.”

Kaguremoshi was a man who lived in the same forest already for 45 years. Later he told me, he was once a famous duellist. I knew what duellists were, I was one myself. I was not experienced, but I was one. I thought duelling was just putting down cards and setting the ultimate strategy to win a duel. But Kaguremoshi taught me differently.

Three weeks after Kaguremoshi found Ryu in the woods, Ryu found himself opposite to Kaguremoshi, meditating. Sometimes, Ryu took a sneak peak through his eyebrows, but Kaguremoshi did not move. After what looked hours, Kaguremoshi opened his eyes. “That feels better.” Ryu grinned. “Why do you grin? You looked about five times while meditating.” Ryu looked up, he did look five times but how did Kaguremoshi know that?

“What do you want, Ryu?” Kugaremoshi suddenly asked. Ryu was taken back by that. “I want to go back to the real world. I want to go back and return to my original life. Where I had a big house and all cards I desired.” Kaguremoshi nodded. “You looked five times did you?” Ryu nodded. Kaguremoshi had asked him already but he did again for some reason. “How do you such things?”

“I did know that because all people that came here did so.” Ryu looked up. “There were people before me?” Kaguremoshi nodded and opened a vault next to the backdoor. He took a small wooden box from it and opened it. In it was a duelling deck. “This deck represents the spirit of a duellist. It was not coincidence that I found you, it never was. Therefore I proudly present you three cards.” Ryu took the three cards. He smiled. “What? Do you expect me to add a Winged Kuriboh (300/200), a Red Eyes Black Chick (800/500) and a D-Hero Doom Lord (600/800)?”

”To which deck? You don’t have a deck.”

At that moment I realised that my deck had vanished from my belt. I was used to having it on my belt, but I could not find it. Where was it, was the first question that came up in me.

“Where is my deck, Kaguremoshi?” Ryu suspiciously asked. “Not here, my young friend. No, your old deck resembles a life you want to put behind you. You need to assemble a new deck. And those three cards you got from me are a start. Learn to use them and you become a great duellist who has respect for his card, who has respect for his opponents and who, most importantly has respect for himself.” Ryu looked to the three cards he was holding.

“I must start a deck with those three?” Ryu asked. Kaguremoshi nodded. “It seems to me you have not much of another choise.” Ryu nodded. “Any advice before I leave you alone again?”

“Yes, my young friend, follow the wind. It goes eastwards.” Ryu nodded and thought about this weird remark.

Follow the wind, it goes eastwards? What does the old man mean? Should I do it or should I choose my own path? All those questions, they give me an headache. Ah, whatever, let`s see whether his direction mean anything, I can still change course afterwards.

Two days after he left the old man, wearing his suit he wore when he crashed (he insisted on taking it on, not caring about what Kaguremoshi said) and a thick jacket. Kaguremoshi was right he should have put some more warmer on. The wind was leading him to the east, but at the same time the wind was cold, very cold. “Kurii.” Ryu looked around, he thought he heard something, but did not see anyone near. It must have been an illusion.

Ryu took out the three cards he got from Kaguremoshi and looked at them. “Why should I take you with me? You are of no use in a duel. Besides I cannot duel because I only have 3 cards and not a full deck.” He sat down on a rock. He noticed a card lying next to the road. It was Red Eyes Black Dragon (2400/2000). He picked it up.

“Hey, wait. Red Eyes Black Chick and Red Eyes Black Dragon! They belong to the same deck!” He eagerly looked further for more cards, but then he heard a roar. He looked around and saw nothing but a black shadow flying in the air.

So begins my journey. Back to the real world, back to where I belong. Where my destiny is unknown yet, but will become known very soon. A new world where I will get new friends, but also new enemies. A new world, that I will enter and I will see to it that I get what belongs to me.

To be continued……
