A letter arrives at your door, landing with a soft flap. You open it:

13/3/2033

Dear __________,

 

You have been invited to a relic hunt. You and several others, I should say. Your goal (should you choose to accept the challenge): Find the ancient Haklion Temple hidden somewhere in the city of Harighnash.

 

Now, the question that I know is lingering on your mind: What's in it for me?

 

Treasure.

 

All the treasure one could possibly imagine, and much more. The finder's fee alone could purchase a small island. Gold, jewels, ancient knowledge, more than one could think possible.

 

There is one catch, however.

 

There are more than just you. And they want the treasure just as badly as you do (and I know you do).

 

Enclosed in this envelope is one of the Pieces of Regehlak, the ancient god of the Haklion people. Only the one who collects all of the Pieces may be granted entry into the Temple: and no other. But the Pieces may only be obtained from another by way of a Duel. (The Haklions managed to harness the power of the Shadows, as the Egyptians had many hundreds of years afterward.)

 

If you are interested, I hope to see you in Harighnash in a week's time. (An airline ticket has also been enclosed.

 

If you do not wish to be a part of the hunt, I understand completely. Simply send your Piece by return mail (and I will know if you don't.)

Age: 37

Bio: A young entreprenuer from America. When he was vacationing in Haklionia, he chanced upon the rumour of the Haklion Temple and found the Pieces of Regehlak. Following the instructions left on the tablet they were found near, he sent them to those found "worthy", that is to say, those who had won duel tournaments in the past. Now, no one quite knows where he is, or what he's doing. The only communication that is known are the letters sent to the chosen.

Appearance: The last known photograph of him shows a thinnish man, mid thirties, six foot one, weighing about 155 pounds. His light brown hair sticks out under his fedora hat. He's wearing a fancy-looking suit, black, as if it had just come back from the cleaners. His shoes are very well-polished. He must pay very well for them to be so.

Deck: It wasn't even known if he played Duel Monsters to begin with.

 

Name: Regilion Markun

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Bio: A hotshot duelist since he was young, Regilion has a huge ego problem. He makes no note of it, however. Despite his belligerence, he's extremely thrifty, only spending money on the barest necessities, and even then, cheaping out. For example, he rented out a withered old man and his souped up crop-tester plane to get to Harighnash instead of getting a ticket on a commercial flight.

Appearance: Wears a black fake-leather jacket over a white, logo-less T-shirt. Regular shorts (in non-descript colors, of course) during the summer, and jeans during the winter. He stands about five foot nine, and weighs about 120 pounds. A pretty inconspicuous character, but there you have it.

Name: Millie Mace

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Bio: She's your average teenager girl, with dreams of being famous and rich. Well, she is already pretty rick because of her family, but when she got the letter with the piece she didn't flinch a second to enlarge her wealth. Still she cares about her friends, and she's a very carefree person, too. She dreams of becoming a famous rock- and popstar.

Appearance: White tank-top, pink trousers and usually wears sunglasses. Her hair is long and blonde, and when she does take off her sunglasses she reveals her emerald green eyes. She always carries around her guitar, which is in fact a guitar/Duel Disk hybrid.

Deck: It's all about being a rockstar, baby!

Name: Jeref Monomotia

Gender: Male

Age: 26

Bio: A gambler and a cowboy at heart, Jeref is a lazy but friendly soft-spoken man rarely given to anger or violence. He dislikes violent conflict, but can keep his head and easily walk out of any situation unscathed. He is preoccupied with the notion of romance and has an interesting mixture of inherit sloth and lust for adventure that drives him to get involved in something like this game.

A veteran of the game, Jeref has been playing since he was 10 years old, and is considered something of a minor prodigy, though he is both too lazy and too humble to agree with such a definition. While his parents encouraged most of his hobbies as a child, he generally mastered them quickly and forgot about them, something he never quite did with Duel Monsters. These days, while he is certainly good enough to win tournaments and the like, he rarely bothers due to both his laziness and the lack of a challenge.

Appearance: Jeref is a rather large man, about 6'6", and wears a lot of loose-fitting fancy-seeming clothing worn in a casual style. He wears a dress shirt with an unbuttoned expensive-looking vest outside it, and over that, a large tan-colored detective's trench coat and a brown fedora hat that he occasionally replaces with a small leather cowboy's hat. He keeps his deck slung gun-style in a holster on his belt, above his rather expensive but loose-fitting dress pants evidently made for a man larger than him (which is hard to imagine), and wears a small pair of wire-rimmed reading glasses occasionally.

Deck: Guns, Dragons, Light Demons, the usual.

Name: Kaij Tosokhi

Gender: Male

Age: 16

Bio: The silent type, doesn't like to talk alot, but he has a fierce attitude. He is both caring, friendly, ignorant and selfish at the same time, however that is possible. At school he was always the bully target, until he learned he was a natural at dueling. Everybody laughed at him at first, until he finished 2nd in SJC in Domino City. Then he had earned the respect he desired.

Name: Deon Bartash

Gender: Male

Age: 19

Bio: He attended the Duel Academy that Seto Kaiba set up. He, however, hated it and was expelled two years previous to Jaden Yuki's arrival. He became a down-an-out, drifting, dueling for money and cards, until he arrived at the deck he uses today. With this deck he entered a tournament in Domino City, and gained international recognition for it.

Appearance: After winning the tournament, he is fairly wealthy, so he wears a black leather jacket over a casual black shirt. He wears jeans and trainers, but still manages to look somewhat smart. He is above average height (About 6'3" and weighs about 125 pounds). He has a custom matt black duel disk.

Deck: This is my own deck with a few minor changes.

Name: Lily Stark

Gender: Female

Age: 17

Bio: Lily has always been a very religious woman, believing in the path of Christianity ever since she was a young girl. Whilst she was 10th, she found her love for dueling after she was "told by guardian angels" about dueling. The "Guardian Angels" were in fact the card Spheres of Trifilias - Grace and Glory after Lily had picked up the card containing them and took them home with her to become safe. She was then told about the rest of the Sphere cards, which she managed to buy and has become a very successful duelist because of it. If she wins the tournament, she wishes to open a Church which teaches young children about the joys of dueling also.

Appearance: She has pale blue eyes that are very unnerving if you happen to look in them, and her slightly pink lips are always curved in a smile. She has light ginger hair which is tied up in a bunch and positioned at the top of her head, but it is nearly always covered by a very decorative gold and silver lining nun hood which she wears. She also wears the same colouring of robe, and normal black shoes.

Gender: Male

Age: 21

Bio: A very calm person and small person who ignores most other people. When he was kid he liked watching the sky rather then playing with the other kids. There for he didn't have any friends but he didn't care about that aslong as he could watch the sky. Watching the sky everyday made him love birds because of their freedom. It is said that if he would be for the choice of saving the live of a bird over saving the live of a human he would save the bird with out hesitating.

Bio: Adrian was born to a rich family and lived a great life until his house was set on fire by a drunk, and Adrian was the only one to escape alive his parents died inside the house and his sister died outside later out of shock. Adrian lived most of his life as a loner living on the streets fighting to avoid the police, he has had close runs with the law only escaping because of a bribe to the police. Adrian eventually found his Deck in the remains of his house going to the secret vault of the house were he kept his cards. Working his way back up to the top of his life becoming a Champion with his famous EX-Heroes, he has earned the respect he wants and thinks he deserves. When he got the letter he knew if he won he could get the money to rebuild his house and make a memorial to his family so he accepted this.

Appearance: Adrian sports shirt that has the word "HERO" in big red letters while the rest of the shirt is black. Adrian wears an old brown jacket that has animal fur packed up around the neck, it has a smudged on word that says "EX" in black, the ink is appearing to fade away though. Adrian's jeans are rugged and appear a little tight on him and has a little rip around a knee, there appears to be a little smudge of ink on it that looks like an "A" for Adrian he guesses. Adrian wears a pair of black shades to cover his eyes, they have a little bit of tape holding them together around the side. His hair is black and unkept it just springs off into multiple directions. The hair has a little red stripe that is on the spiked parts of his hair. Adrian's irises are different colors one is green and another is orange.

Bio: Iris loved traveling when she was younger, and when she grew older she would love to visit exotic locations in order to learn more about such places and bits of the history behind them. In addition, she took up the hobby of dueling and found herself quite fond of it. Like her traveling hobby, she found dueling to be similar and would experiment with different dueling styles, decks, and strategies, eventually winning a few minor tournaments. With both traveling and dueling available through the offer, she was very eager to accept.

Appearance: Iris has raven-colored hair that trails halfway down her back. She has brown eyes and tanned skin from her time spent traveling in sunny locations. Her usual outfit consists of a white jacket over a long-sleeved white shirt, in addition to blue jeans.

Bio: A fun loving, kind considerate person. Ever since he was young he has had anger management problems, but he can control them now for the most part. If you stay on his good side he can be your best friend. But.... be on his bad side and he will target you until you lose your mind. Since he was like this his parents sent him to a boarding school for 3 years.... then the office called him and said he got a letter.... of course he lives on the other side of the world (why he was so late).

There was a dungeon. It was dark. It was quiet. Nothing got in or out, not even sound. There was simply nothing. In the middle (or what we will call the middle) there was a man. He was sitting, crosslegged, alone to all but his thoughts. Suddenly, a wordless, soundless howl echoed across the room, and the room was lit.

"So this is Harighnash..? I was expecting something with a bit more... order... But whatever. This place has been created by the Lord, and so it must have some. Now, to find my host." said a woman wearing robes that happened to be exceedingly religious looking. She looked around for a while, just taking in her surroundings. It was then that 2 figures appeared vaguely beside her, both wielding gauntlets that were at least double the mass of their actual body. They were decorated with all kinds of religious patterns, and the claws at the end of the gauntlet base moved up and down uncontrollably.

 

Lily... It's time to find the host... More sightseeing later, please. We need to get this underway. One of the figures said, it's voice sounding graceful and elegant.

 

"Of course, let us get going." With that, all 3 of the figures left to try and find the creator of the letter that they had recieved.
