New Green Lantern Drawing by NickLD

You are really improving on the shading.

However, the form is really bugging me. The glow seems to be too mechanical, as it's too solid. The face is really strange. He looks older, like elderly, almost. his legs are really wobbly.

On the other hand, the hair is amazingly done. I think the glow effects could have been a lot stronger towards the hand, but they do look awesome. ;D

Overall, really good. Some changes here and there are required, but what I saw first was your major improvement on the shading. Good job. Keep getting better. ^_^

yea, the glow is supposed to be solid like that, if u read the blackest night series, green lanterns aura is very solid and straight.

i always have trouble with faces, but i think im getting better slowly xD

i think the legs look wobbly becuz you cant see all the lines, in the comic series, they do that part of the costume solid black, which i liked, so i copied it xD

i really liked doing the hair, so smooth and shiny lol

i was trying some new splatter brushed out, and in the comic series (yes, im addicted) they always have the energy coming from the ring all...."splattery" lol

i shoulda added more shine and glow to it though.

thx fuzz, i also think its a huge improvement form the first one :D

Why is he white?

do u mean his skin color?

lol' date=' im so sick of hearing everyone say "but green lantern is black!" xD

if u read a comic of green lantern ull see there are hundreds of them, and among them, is a black dude, which is what they used for the cartoon show. but the main green lantern is white, which is this one :D

love this piece ;)

but the legs aren't great as the rest ;)

thx wanderley

i dont see what is so wrong with the legs but ok xD

The fact is that the legs look unrealistic.

Also' date=' pretty much the lower body of his is too stretched out. I marked the place what I'm talking about with a red square:

lol, u didnt read my post.

i said if u read the comic, you would know that they color it solid black, so of course you cant see the seperation of the legs, which probably also why u think it looks wierd

Even so, you should still put a bit of shading in to show that's where the legs split. The musculature isn't off, but the shading there could use a bit of work. The rest of it needs some shading work, too; it seems kinda... well, dulled out. Pardon my word choice, but you could do better there. I'm not sure how to explain what exactly I mean or how to fix it, though. :/

Yeah' date=' you would usually see some sort of grey-ish line between the legs right thar.

He's saying they are unrealistic because there is no muscle tone there at all. =\

[/quote']

I could always say that it looks more like Mr. Fantastic cosplaying as the Green Lantern..

I mean, look at this picture. Does that Green Lantern have the large place between his hips and the so called "separation of legs" like in your picture? No, he doesn't.

So, stop using the "you're seeing it wrong" card and just fix it.

theres nothing to fix, i meant to do it that way.

looks at this picture, and look and the black parts, ull see how they color it, they draw no lines of seperation:

obviously my drawing isnt perfect, no-ones is, but that is not one of its flaws.

Nick' date=' you need to realize that it doesn't matter how many times it's done; it still doesn't look as good as the alternative.

[/quote']

...?

whats the alternative? and how many times what is done?

It needs more a$$' date=' maybe that can help xD

Your shading is pretty cool.

The face looks mature because he is classic ;D

In the pic of your link, there's a green glow separating the legs, although I'm not really going to complain about it lol.

[/quote']

lol, i agree he could use some more a$$ xD

and lol at the green glow on the link pic, i think that is actually a coloring error, because its not done on anyone else on the pic xD

thx for commenting sleepy ^_^
