Peridot Grove, the most dangerous city in the world, as it has been dubbed. Crime rates skyrocket every year, and near every citizen is bound to be involved in some sort of illegal scheme. Most homes have been vandalized once or twice, and gang activity pollutes the welfare of every Peridot Grove citizen.

I guess you could say we're a little dysfunctional. When we aren't fighting, we just go our separate ways. Most of our discussion is by IM or Facebook or text. I'm almost never home—my parents could care less.

Well, first there's my parents, Nora and Todd Biel. My mom is never home either. She's always either out shopping, with a girlfriend, or just escaping the house. My dad is constantly working. He has to hold two part-time jobs and a full-time job to keep our family funding steady. We have a nanny, also; Consuela Valdez. She can speak little English, but is always there when you need her, I guess.

I'm the oldest in the family at seventeen. My younger brother, Evan, is fourteen. Before him is cute little Chloe. She's seven, and kind of hyper. Yeah, you guessed it, she always gets what she wants. Oh yeah, by the way, my name's Keisha.

Living in Peridot Grove is complicated. I've never had any trouble with the law, or criminals. I don't see what's so bad about our city. I just love having a good time. Sometimes things go to far. I've had an occasional drink, and I've tried a cigarette. Yeah, that was disgusting. I need to get my values straight.

My life is a mess, in my opinion. I'm a drama queen anyway, and I'm always thinking in spite of myself and contradicting myself, whether or not in thought.

Yeah, so, life in Peridot Grove. You just have to stay on your toes, and you'll fit right in. You never know what trouble you could end up in. You wouldn't think it was dangerous by its name. You'd think it was from some cheesy romance or a soap opera, but no, this can be dangerous at times. It's a good thing my entire family knows how things run, and know when to duck and cover.
