Seems rather broken, since aside from The Shallow Grave and Apprentice Magician it on its own prevents all Special Summoning. And because it also forbids Flip Summoning, it essentially says "No face-up monsters for you ever if you don't have Book of Taiyou!"

That doesn't have the intended effect at all. Dark Simorgh just negates that.

I had the idea based on a completely different principle. I knew it was broken the moment I put it down into text. But there's no way to make it unbroken without screwing up the original purpose.

The whole point of the card is to create a two-card lockdown. As if Simorgh wasn't a lockdown by himself.

 

Good lord, this makes the Yata-Lock seem downright sporting by comparison.

 

At least you admitted it was supposed to be OP'd, but that doesn't make it any better.
