Dragon Guard Requiem [PG-16] Original Story [CH 14 up!]Please R&R!

Recommended Posts

I've been meaning to put this up for a while, but I was afraid this would be a wrong section, so know that I know it's permitted, Here's my Original Story.

[spoiler=Prologue]

The Skies were dark with only a feint glow of the torches held by quite a large mob, led by a troop of soldiers, They chanted in curses and accusations screaming “Murderer” and “Traitor!” all yelled the Phrase, “Death to the Blood Prince!” The rain begins to pour as a young boy quickly tries to close the gates of the Cathedral by the Cliffside. A Lightning bolt strikes the side of the Cathedral as if directed by Nature itself to strike the holy place, to smite the young boy inside. The soldiers gather at the front of the majestic gate and begin tearing through the doors to reach the boy, frightened he runs to the altar where he trips and looks up only to see the holy symbol of their deity looking down upon him as if he were a demon.

He looks down to a figure on the floor as the doors fall, only a few armed men enter, their swords at the ready, he looks back at them, tears and blood on his face, he can do nothing else but give a twisted smile, brimming with unsure and corrupted innocence. The men look down at him and see the figure below him, the body of a woman of noble order, mangled and torn, The boy’s smile an unfortunate confession, the first guard grabs the boy by his shirt and yells at him, labeling him a monster as he punches the boy in the stomach. On the ground he can do nothing but plead, but by now words will not save him, his crime has already been judged and his sentence is to be carried out immediately, Death. In a last ditch effort he eludes his executioners grasp to hold on to the deceased, grabbing a pendant hanging on her neck and screaming words of forgiveness. “Mother, I’m sorry Forgive Me!” he manages to say as the guards grab and pull him back causing him to tear the pendant from her neck her body falls violently after the pressure ceases to tug at her neck.

The leader walks in front of the boy, he screams and kicks looking up at the soldiers, They attempt to take the pendant away but his grip does not falter. The man in front unsheathes his blade and asks the boy for a final wish to which he does not answer he looks down at his mother, the woman he killed one last time then turns his eyes back to the soldier one last time as he swings his blade down, the shape of the deadly instrument reflected in his eyes as it strikes. The pendant falls to the ground in one second, a splash of blood falling upon it in the next. Things go silent in the land, not the rain falling down nor the lightning crashing dare make more than a whisper as a roar, awesome in it’s might leaves the Cathedral, in an instant, the guards are no longer standing, the group outside look inside, only two see the glowing of two demonic eyes and the lone pendant on the ground covered with blood.

The lightning strikes again and the beast roars as the Cathedral collapses in on itself, taking all those inside with it, the cliff breaking off and falling into the violent waves below. The roar of the beast ended in the fall, this was the final act for the so called “Blood Prince” and many wished for his sins to be cleansed with the tears of the heavens. Those tears cleared nothing, though it rained often many never forgot what happened that day. The day both a prince and a Queen died. The King had always had substitutes, so while he may have pretended to grieve for them in reality he felt nothing. Almost as an omen, exactly one year afterwards the King had begun his takeover, it was a swift yet powerful assault, the unprepared armies of the other lands were powerless against the possible threat of the Dragon’s Ultimate weapon.

Fortunately the weapon was never used and the lands gave up without too much of a fight, the lands now belonged to The Dragon King. Over the next five years, under his rule the lands were segregated, Humans had many of their rights removed and their living conditions plummeted save for a few who had enough money to keep their status, The world was always under the control of the royal Families, but now, even they bowed to the king. There was no force that would go against him, with the exception of a small rebel force that would attack minor provinces, but the King never worried to much about them. He had no worries, For over nine years The king ruled with no interruption, his academies always trained strong warriors for his seemingly unnecessarily powerful army. There seemed to be something the King feared, what it was, no one knew.

[spoiler=Episode 1, Chapter 1]

A Rude Awakening

A lightning bolt strikes the tower of the main building of the Entrainment Academy, it hit one of the electrical servers of the building and completely blew out the lights of the dingy building for Human’s only. Inside of the building, a young man had just been shocked into waking up, he looked over towards the window, the heavy rain made sure that there would not be a peaceful night, he looks towards his clock, and while the storm may have gone ahead and stopped all electrical appliances he knew exactly what time it was. He looked down and sighed. “Happy Birthday to me…” with that he simply looks at the pendant on his bed mantle and puts it on his neck.

After walking around for awhile in his room he hears a knock on his door he walks to it and looks through the peephole, outside is a young woman, she has moderately long blue hair her eyes look worried, he knows this girl, Maire Zephyr, a good friend of his ever since he entered the academy. He opens the door and she looks around his room. ”Maire…it’s really early in the morning….people are gonna say things about us.” she gives him a funny look. ”Ha ha…very funny Josep, I just came to check on you….that last lightning bolt hit the Human dorm and I got worried.” she said, being a half-dragon herself she lived in the better garnished secondary dorm for girls.

Josep shrugged her comment and responded. “so you were thinking of me…at this hour? I’m flattered….” she turns red and looks away. ”look…don’t get any ideas….You’ve just been my burden to bear these last 4 years…” with that she looks in his room, it’s rather neat considering he’s a guy, but of course he’s always been very different from most guys, even from most humans. “Your just the worst kind of guy, Josep…” He laughs as he lays on his bed. ”But I’m still your favorite aren’t I?” she wanted to smack him, but she couldn’t bring herself to do it.

Eventually both ended up simply looking out the window Josep being unable to sleep and Maire using this as an excuse to be near Josep. ”So…what’s the news…anybody talking about me in the girls dorm?” Josep asks, as he turns around she bonks him on the head with a small plastic mallet. ”Is that all you think about?” he looks at her and laughs. “no, but let’s be honest…people in this school don’t like me cause I’m a human, I just wonder if maybe there’s someone in this god dang academy that looked past that. She pats his head. “those are pretty deep words, …for a pervert like you.” she teases. ”If I’m a Pervert why do you hang out with me?” she looked at him and she blinked for a few seconds. ”I’ll be honest…I have no clue…you have no redeeming qualities.” he sighs “well gee…thanks….” he stated as the lights of the academy hallway turned on.

”Oh crap….I have to get out of here!” She says in a very worried tone. ”What will people think if they see you in here…” she gets mad. ”I’ll get expelled dummy! Not only are you human….you’re a guy!” Josep smiles just a little. ”Then we’ll just have to tell everyone about us.” Her restriction was lifted, and he was socked in the face.. ”ow…..I meant the fact that we’re friends…but this means you think more of us.” he held his cheek as she scowled at him, afterwards she just leaves. ”Oh just Shut up…get ready for class” with that she was gone.

A few minutes later the rest of the students started coming out to go take their showers, it seemed no one noticed Maire’s escape, which was okay with him, he looked at his uniform, such a bland design, but he wasn’t really one for fancy outfits anyway. He put it on and hid a small pendant under his collar and into his shirt pocket, it shouldn’t be noticed there, he walked to the door and looks back when a picture of his friends falls down, it was odd, that picture was in a very stable frame. ”What the…” After placing it back on it’s stand he walked outside towards the announcements chamber, there he stood in position, in alphabetical order, his last name being Zavara, he was in the far back. While he was really far away from the Class representatives speaking at the front, he heard everything, the giant speakers in the back made sure he wouldn’t miss a word….dammit.

Then he went to the Human’s mess hall and took his usual seat…alone. ”I need human friends….” he looked around, none of them were exactly friendly, who knows why? He never understood why these people never tried to get their conditions improved, but to be honest, he didn’t care himself, so why should they. Breakfast was as uneventful as usual, there seemed to be no reason to it, the food was inedible anyway, but they weren’t allowed to skip it, it was as if they were forced to suffer the cruelty that passed as cafeteria food. Finally the first class was going to start he took his seat in the back of the class. ”And now….let the monotony begin….”

[spoiler=Episode 1, Chapter 2]

Life in the Academy

Class had just begun, and Josep was already bored, things weren’t exactly exciting around this time of the morning, the only thing that made this day worse, was the following Voice. ”Yo! Josep! What’s up!” Josep always found that as a really stupid question, and he never really liked using it, but among the people and Halflings here it was common, which is why it annoyed the hell out of him. He looked up at the source of the voice, it was the closest thing he could refer to as a friend, Zeal, he was a sarcastic bastard half of the time, but with the pace Josep’s life went in, sometimes Zeal was a necessary addition. “So….I see Zeal is still being his usual self, you know Josep doesn’t answer anyone until he sees he sees his girlfriend first.” A piece of chalk flies and hit the second boy throwing him to the ground, his name is Tyre, another of Josep’s friends, he was a bit more down to earth, but he always said the wrong things around Maire, who just happened to be the one to throw the chalk.

”I am not his Girlfriend!” she shouted flushed and frustrated, when he got up he spoke. ”I didn’t mean you…I meant Reina!” Josep laughed, and he had good reason to, his friends were all Half-Dragons, talking to them was difficult enough, but Reina was not only a full-blooded Dragon, but also the Queen of the academy. Even saying Josep’s name along the same sentence as hers was hilarious. But he did admit that he felt weird every time she entered the classroom, he never knew what it was, maybe it was just hormones… though he himself would never say something like that.

”You guys are nuts, even talking like that could get me killed.” he sat back and looked forward towards his little group, it was off for him to hang out with Half-dragons, but he did anyway, he never knew how it happened, but he was happy it did, the treatment they gave humans here was not livable unless you had someone to help you through it all, and for Josep, it was mostly Maire, but the others helped, in their own messed up way. A this moment they came in, The Elite Dragon Students, they were even beyond the other Dragons as they were related to someone of high importance in the Dragon Army.

”And here they come…the Snob Squad.” it was a weak insult on Zeal’s Behalf, but it was also pretty accurate, this group had the worst kind of people in it, the most prominent being Bane Markos, Captain of the School’s Martial Arts club, jock extraordinaire, and a pain in the @ss, but while he was impressive in size all-around, his most distinguishing feature were his arms. As Teenagers rebel against their parents with unusual hair-styles and piercings, Dragons Rebelled by combining one of their Dragon Characteristics with their casual appearance, In Bane’s case, it was his Elbow blades, which he cleaned more than his teeth. He was a scary individual, but that’s not where Josep’s attention was at.

Behind Bane was the School’s princess, the very attractive Reina Masashima, While he was sure she had an okay personality, the only thing he stared at were her large…eyes. Those were the trait that she kept. She was a woman of Allure and she knew it. Her Brown eyes were in the shape of a dragons, and she enjoyed keeping her fangs as well, The Vampire Princess they called her at times, and while all these reasons, and the fact that she had a great body would normally be enough basis for attraction, Josep found himself staring in awe for some reason, he couldn’t tell why, but he had a horrible urge just looking at her. Maire was less than happy about this fact. ”Stop staring at her you perv!” she shouted, and probably not the best thing to say considering Bane(aka:Muscles Magoo) was Reina’s current boyfriend.

”What the Hell is that human looking at exactly?” he asks as he approaches her, his figure towering the meek Half-dragon girl. ”Answer me you little jabroni….” Josep stands up and steps in front of Maire. ”Look, it’s all a big misunderstanding…” he says trying to keep the peace between the two groups. Bane doesn’t care, he grabs Josep by the collar and picks him up. ”So…you like staring at Dragons eh…that’s quite disrespectful coming from a putrid human like you, but I’m honorable, I’ll let you make up for it by groveling to my feet.” Josep just stared back, the smile he had only a few minutes before was gone, yet again he was reacting to a Dragon, but unlike Reina, it wasn’t a type of admiration, it was pure hatred. He didn’t even know why. ”What’s with that look human? I’m speaking to you!” Josep said nothing. ”I’m speaking to you Human!” with that he threw him out the window in rage of being stood up to by a human.

Maire, Zeal and Tyre are shocked that he would go to such lengths, Reina was less than amused. ”Pfh…you’re an idiot Bane…now what are you gonna about the window?” he shrugs and responds, oh, we’ll just blame it on the human…no one would believe him…” outside he looks at where Josep would be at, but to his surprise, Josep is just standing in the rain. Brushing off the glass shards. ”Can’t we just get to class now?” is all he responds, yet again, he didn’t know why he said that, but it surely enticed Bane and Reina’s attention, Bane hops out.” what the funk is wrong with you, acting all smug like that, I’m about to have to kick your ass…” he raises his fist at the smaller male. Reina looks in awe at the Human, and after a few seconds she holds her nose, as if she had been hit. ”What…the …hell?” Bane looks at him once more. ”you scared yet Human? You’re about to get demolished by a full Blooded Dragon.” Josep doesn’t know what possessed him to say what he did. ”No…”

[spoiler=Episode 1, Chapter 3]School Brawl

It was pouring buckets outside, Josep didn’t know how it had come to this, he was up against the largest Dragon student by terms of muscularity. “I think it’s about time I show you your place human, our species can’t compare, and now, you get to see that first hand!” his fist goes towards Josep’s face, and for a second Josep looked like he’s about to dodge it as he seems to be ducking, but shortly after he’s on the ground, his evasion being unsuccessful. Maire grew worried. ”Josep! Bane! Please stop!” she yelled at deaf ears, Bane was enjoying himself quite thoroughly, each kick he did towards Josep’s gut was exhilarating, he didn’t know why, but it seemed he was as possessed as Josep was not too long ago.

”Do you know your Place Now!” he got down on one knee and began punching Josep in the gut repeatedly. ”Do you give up!” By now they’ve amassed a crowd by the windows. Even a few teachers just look on, normally they would stop this, but they enjoyed seeing a Human being brought down to his level in the dirt. Reina just kept looking down at her boyfriend’s action, she didn’t know what enticed her to keep looking on, but she found herself staring at the Human quite a lot. “The teachers have no intention of ending this“, Maire thought at the brink of tears as all she can do is watch, and barely at that, as the fog outside accumulates around their “arena”. Tyre and Zeal can only stand by her side, they’re to afraid to get involved in the fight.

Josep is thrown to the ground yet again, he spits out blood various times but no matter what, he stands up yet again. ”Do you have a death wish human?” he clenches his fists together and hammers Josep down causing him to hit the concrete floor this time with his face, Josep stands up again, blood trickling from his nose onto the pavement. ”Crap…” is all he managed to say as Bane picked him up and threw him over his shoulder like a rag doll. ”You’re done for human, any more and I’ll kill you…and while that wouldn’t be too much of a loss, legally, I’m not allowed to.” He starts walking away, but Josep stands yet again. ”You are one annoying creature…” there are humans up in the crowd yelling for him to stay down, and there are teachers hoping the boy will be transferred, one less human to have to look after.

“Fine, if you want me to end your pathetic existence, it’s understandable…your species is worthless so why live through it all right?” he raises his spiked elbow and places it by Josep’s throat. “if only I could…but even with your consent, it’s illegal…so…” he instead raises his fist and socks him in the face again. He falls towards the ground pretty hard this time some believe they heard a bone crack upon impact, and some just say the storm was getting worse. Maire wanted to jump out, and by now Reina thought it was enough as well, Bane had proven his point, whatever that may have been originally. But something in her wanted this to continue until the end, no matter how hopeless it seemed for Josep.

“You know what human…I give you credit for only one thing, your stubborn” Josep actually smiles and responds ”gee thanks…but, that‘s not the type of thing, I‘m proud of…” He slowly walks towards Bane. ”What, you actually think you can take me?” he says with a laugh, The rain has become worse and now the fighters cannot be seen.” I think one good hit will do, “ he picks up Josep who just waits for the attack. ”Come on…just end this…We’re both late for class.” Bane was furious, despite the furious beating that he had given him this boy had not had his spirit broken. ”Damn you! Where do you get off being this cocky! I bet you got this from your wretched human parents.” Josep’s eyes widened as if Bane had hit a nerve, and Bane was ready to take advantage of this little discovery. “Ah, I see now, so you do have something that affects that excuse of a brain in you…”

Josep balled his fist, but he avoided actually attacking, as a Human attacking a Dragon would be cause for commotion. ”what’s wrong Human? did I strike a nerve? Talking about your parents? But which one hurts more?, Whatever bastard of a father you had?” he watches Josep’s reactions, but he’s not happy with the result, so he moves on. ”Or the jabroni of a woman that decided to give birth to you?” Josep’s eyes flared, the rain had gotten to the point where neither one could be seen, so only the shouting voices of the spectators could be heard. “does the poor little Human miss his mommy?” some taunted from the windows. “What a loser.” “show that human what’s for Bane!” other’s shouted. ”You see Human…you aren’t welcome, so why don’t you run home to mommy? Maybe that whore can teach you some resp…”

Before his sentence was completed he had felt a great pressure in his abdomen, He looked down in shock as he saw Josep’s fist had hit him, he would have never guessed it was only a fist, in his mind he was screaming in pain, on the outside he didn’t have any air in his lungs to shout. Josep dislodged his fist, as he did various crumbling sounds were heard, to Bane’s surprise, he couldn’t keep himself standing, every bone in his body had been fractured from one punch. Josep just stood there, as he looked down, he was shocked to see what he had done. In the windows talking could still be heard, but many were confused as to why Bane had stopped talking. ”What the hell happened?’ was the only thing clearly audible. Maire tried to see past everything, but she could only make out a faint figure running from the scene. ”Where is he going?” she questioned. She left the class, knowing by know that class would be cancelled for only one thing, to find the human that did this, she just hoped she would find him first.

[spoiler=Episode 1, Chapter 4]The Bite

Josep had been running for an undetermined amount of time now, he was a little scared of what he had done. ”Crap…I’ll get expelled for sure….dammit, what was I thinking!?” He scolded himself as he ran towards the bridge to Furer Town, but instead of crossing he simply went to the side and under the bridge, there he would be safe from anybody finding him, though the increased water level and flow could still get to him. He really didn’t want to literally be water under the bridge. “Man…as soon as someone finds me, I’ll be doomed.” while he knew they wouldn’t look for him until after it stopped raining, with his luck it would be soon. In the mean time he went ahead and made sure everything was okay, while his clothes were muddy and he had various tears in his jacket he was glad that his pendant was still okay. ’Thank god…” was all he said as the storm was finally beginning to subside.

He had just laid there for a while when he heard his name being shouted by a female. At first he was nervous, it could be an angry Bane-fan girl, but he was glad when he recognized the voice, It was Maire. ”Oh thank god…” he stands and looks towards her direction while still under the bridge, so it seemed that some random Human was peeking out from the bridge. ”What are you doing down there?” He gave her a ‘duh’ look. ”Really? You have to ask? I just knocked out the most popular guy in school…I’m sure the teachers are ready to kill me… “ He’s worried, and he has all right to be, but she just calmly walks down the hill, avoiding the slippery patches of wet grass, which was obviously impossible as she slipped down and into his arms…how nice.

“Well, Maire, I can’t say I’m surprised…” she pushes him away and falls into the river, luckily by now the level has gone down, but she’s just holding her cheeks, being that close to Josep obviously made her feel, uncomfortable. “Don’t say things like that! People might hear!” He stands dripping wet. ”Gee, I’m glad you noticed the current didn’t take me away…..” She looks at him, just barely realizing what she did, for a few seconds she looks a little sorry, then she sticks her tongue at him. ”That’s what you get.” He scoffs it off and trudges out. ”Well, I can’t exactly go back to school right now. Maybe I should wait a few 1000 years until Humans and Dragons can get along. She pats him on the head. ”You can wait 2000 years and it still may not happen….though I wish they would….I mean seriously, what is the point of anymore fighting, The King owns everything anyway…” Josep lowers his head, and looks towards the town avoiding the topic. ”Well, now that we’re out of class, how about a day in town?”

She misheard him. ”Date!? Uhm Josep…I…I don’t know what to ” He sighed. ”I said Day…just a Day, as in walk around for the day…you know, as long as I’m still a wanted man…” She’s breathing heavily, but she finally understands and calms down. ”Oh……okay…yeah, that’s what I thought you said.” Josep laughed, her inability to lie was adorable, but just as they were about to head off an aged hand grabs his shoulder. “Oh………Crap.” he looks back to see one of the Professors had followed Maire, knowing that she affiliated with him. “Ah, Mr. Zavara, good to see that your still near the premises, I’m sure we should be heading away from town…and into the dean’s office.” Maire is a little scared, unsure of what may happen to Josep, but before she could say anything he was already taking Josep away.

Josep was scared out of his mind, if anything, he had always been afraid of the Dean, He was pretty much Bane, large, unnaturally muscular, with a teaching degree and a thick moustache. ”So…Josep Zavara, it seems you have violated quite a lot of rules today, The most prominent being that you stood up against a Dragon, do you know the punishment for a crime such as this?” Josep just looked at him and just shook his head “no”. The Dean smiled, and pulled his file out. ”I could have you expelled, and worse, arrested.” he looks inside and picks up a stamp that backwards read “dellepxe” ,but two seconds later his malevolent grin is gone when he sees how he entered the academy, through an anonymous benefactor, who was paying quite a lot of money for the school, lose the human, and he would lose all that money.

“ahem, of course, I’m sure you resent what you did so just go along…write Bane a formal apology or something…” he said, acting as if the benefactor was looking at him right now. “Go along…I’m sorry for ruining your date, please tell your benefactor how much you love the academy…” Josep sighed, this man was being a total suck-up, and to be honest, he had no idea who the benefactor was. It just happened, though he worried about what that person knew about him. Too be honest, that was something he wanted to think about after he graduated, for now, he wanted to go to his room, When he opens the door he had quite a surprise waiting for him, laying on his bed, in a rather provocative manner, was none other… than Reina Masashima.

“Okay…I expected a girl on my bed….I just assumed the wrong girl it seems.” he stated non-chalantly., though in his mind he was screaming bloody murder, he was pretty sure that she wanted him dead. He did go ahead and severely injure her boyfriend. ”so…uhm, this is my room, you’re totally welcome here, but still, I don’t think girls are allowed here, especially a full-blooded Dragon. She smiles and walks closer to him. ”and what about yourself? Should you be here?” she asks, Josep tilts his head in confusion. ”Uhm…considering this is my room, I’m sure I can be here.” she chuckles a little and walks even closer to him. “You know, you’re quite interesting, for a ‘human’…” the emphasis on the word Human was confusing to Josep, what the hell was she talking about. “That whole fight with Bane…it was so nice of you to choose me over your girlfriend.” Josep really had no clue what she was talking about. ”and I should have known, with all the stares you keep giving me. I can’t believe you haven’t already tried to bite me.”

“Woah, Bite?! You’re kidding right? Humans don’t get “Bite” you should know that.” He was freaked out by her words, prominently the word bite, which is a slang term for the final stage of a Dragon’s puberty, in which a teenage Dragon begins exuding powerful pheromones that can only be detected by Dragon’s who’s aura is as close to their own as possible, thus finding them the mate which will in theory give birth to a Dragon with the highest amount of Aura between both Bloodlines. ”I’ll be honest, even though Bane and I had a weak connection, he was the closest to me in aura, but you completely blow him out of the park…your aura is so…inviting.” she began unbuttoning her shirt. “And we begin our relationship, with a bite at each other’s neck.” Her fangs are bared at him, and now Josep is scared out of his mind. Just as she nears him, his door opens and Maire walks in. “Josep I was wondering how you were ……doing?” she sees them in quite a compromising position, and her eyes go wide.

[spoiler=Episode 1, Chapter 5]

Normal Day

“w…w…what the hell is going on here!?” she demanded, boy was she furious, yet you could see she was also a bit upset about this, Reina just looked up at her and stated. ”uhm….can’t you see I’m having a moment with my mate?” she said it so discreetly, and the way she said “Mate was also quite odd, though she was never known for saying boyfriend about anyone, she certainly never did for bane. Maire was getting more pissed off by the second. ”What the hell are you talking about…Josep isn’t your mate! He’s my……” she stopped herself, tears slowly forming in the corner of her eyes. Reina didn’t care much about the girl, so her feelings were under that, so she responded with the following. ”okay…listen up Halfling. As you know, Jo-kun here just defeated Bane in a fight, and by decree, that means that he just won me by right…I guess since you were his previous mate you can still have him when I’m not using him, but…” Josep intercepts, he likes where this is going but still he couldn’t stand to see Maire Cry. ”Hey hey hey…I haven’t accepted being anyone’s mate…” He gets out from under Reina and gets out of bed, “You still have Bane…and besides I’m human, so you’re decree means nothing to me.”

Reina laughs at his remark. “Are you still going on with that? I can smell it in you, and I’m sure the Halfling has as well.” Maire was confused, Josep’s smell? Did she mean his shampoo, or his aura’s smell? If so, to her, both were…attractive, but she would never admit it, but she did know Josep’s aura was very different for a human, but it wasn’t like a half Dragon, or a full Dragon aura’s either. Reina sees her confusion. ”It’s a special type of Dragon…his aura is exquisite, I’m sure you’ve noticed…” Josep gives a puzzled look. “Okay, I’m weirded out now…I don’t know what you guys are talking about auras for…so…” he stands up and walks towards the center of the room, the girls do as well, he tries to go to the side but they seem to get in the way, the two girls are looking past him and just stare at each others eyes, Maire grabs Josep’s arm and interlaces it with her own. Reina smiles. “Fine…for now, take care of him for me…” she says with a smug smile.

Outside where the world was still relatively normal, Josep and Maire were about to leave school gates when they were caught up by Zeal and Tyre. “Why are you two always together, you may as well imprint “we’re a couple” on your heads already.” stated Zeal, Josep smiled and calmly responded. ”The same could be said about you two…” Maire laughed, that sure shut Zeal up. ”Did you have to drag me down as well?” asked Tyre, though he laughed as well. “So, Maire…were you taking him out to where we said, or were you just gonna keep him to yourself?” Zeal asked, still trying to be funny. She face palmed when he said that. ”please just shut up…” she looks like she’s gonna strangle the boy, but she refrains from doing so. “well, either way, yes, lets just all go somewhere nice…it is Josep’s birthday after all.” it finally all clicked in Josep’s mind, this day had just been so weird, he had forgotten he had just became 18 today, and while it didn’t mean much to him, Maire always made sure they at least had a cake for him.

They had all soon began walking away from the academy, and while it would darken soon enough, they didn’t exactly care, today they would make sure they had fun. While Zeal and Tyre where talking up in front of the group, they kept making glances towards the back, seeing as Maire still had her arm wrapped around Josep’s, neither of the two seemed to notice how close they were. The way they kept flirting with each other, for the last 6years…, had become routine, though Zeal was surprised they weren’t married yet, while Tyre wondered how the two could live without the other. After a few minutes they stopped at the local bakery, there they bought a few cupcakes, one with a candle for Josep. But before he made his wish the four just spent their time talking about the days events.

“so how did you do it?” asked Tyre, if anything he was the most impressed, Josep was never one for being good in athletics, the chances of Josep actually besting Bane were quite small. “What kind of question is that! I’m just glad Josep is okay…” retorted Maire, she was impressed as well, but it was nothing compared to the worry she felt. “I got lucky, it’s all I can say, Bane let down his Guard and I managed to hit a weak spot.” Josep answered calmly, still Zeal wasn’t to sure. ”you kicked him in the balls, didn’t you?” Maire smacks him, she had no reason to do so, but it was just something that had to be done. “either way…Josep…you should make your wish…” she asked, Josep did as told and closed his eyes, in his mind, he didn’t really have anything he wanted, he was just glad that he actually had friends, especially Maire. He could feel the warmth of the candle, but it was as if that’s not what he felt, after blowing out the candle he opened up his eyes and saw Maire, her face only a few inches from his own. ”So…what you wish for?” she asked, though Josep couldn’t answer, Zeal and Tyre looked away, but Josep and Maire stared dead on into each others eyes for a few minutes.

Eventually Zeal and Tyre were sick of waiting. ”okay, either you two make out on the floor right now, or we get along with our lives…” the two reacted immediately to Zeal’s statement and looked away, both flushed red. After Zeal and Tyre left ,Josep and Maire decided to stay a little longer. “You sure we shouldn’t get to our dorms? People will be saying stuff about us again…” This time Maire just laughed. ”I don’t care…let them talk” she looked back at him and gave him a cute smile as she tilted her head. “J…Josep?” she began asking nervously. ”dd…d…do you have any feelings for Reina?” she was beginning to stutter, but Josep’s answer was clear. “of course not…I already have someone that I care about…” he stopped talking but kept smiling at her. “r..rreally?” she continued to stutter, “of course, and I’ve liked her for a while…I guess I’ve just been to damn nervous to say anything…” they both look around the store, and as usual people just can’t mind their own business, “Maybe we should talk outside…” Josep suggests, while they walk neither seems to know what to say, but they don’t seem to care right now, their hands are interlaced with each other and they both just seem very happy to be with the other.

“So…Josep, you never said who you like…” she teases. “Oh come on…you already know…” she smiles. ”of course I do, I just want to hear it from you…” He stops in his place and turns her towards him, “does this answer you?” and with no wait he presses his lips against hers, both of them just standing there as people walk by, it was a moment like this, where no one could tell whether or not they were both Human, dragon, or whatever, all people knew was that these two cared for each other, if anything, that was what they wanted. When they both finally separated from each other Josep was the one that was left speechless, and there seemed to be a twinkle in Maire’s eyes. This moment just seemed perfect, but suddenly someone bumps into them, it was by accident, considering his size. “Whoa…” Josep said as he held Maire from falling, he looked at the figure, he was a good 6’7, far above the height of a normal Dragon, one couldn’t see beyond his torn apart black cloak, but from the side a large stone pendant was visible wrapped around his arm. ”hey couldn’t you at least say sorry?” Josep demanded, but the figure only turned around to reveal he had a large yellow glass eye, it was slit like a Dragon, “yeesh, sorry I asked…” the figure looks at him for a few seconds, but soon turns around and is on his way.

Once he was far away enough Josep and Maire decided to take the long way home, along the way they heard reports from the radio in a police car about how the “Dragon Guard” was on the loose, “Great…the Dragon Guard…as if there wasn’t enough trouble in this town, “ said a cop. Another responded.” yeah, first humans are allowed in the academies and now the Dragon Guard is in our borders…what is Prince Ryuji thinking?” The first cop laughs. “nothing that’s what, he’s nothing like King Rundas was.” Josep and Maire let the two continue, but Josep wondered “who’s the Dragon Guard anyways?” The cop gives him a look. “what are ya? Stupid? The Dragon Guard is a frickin monster! “ the other cop simply adds to the story. “they say he’s a traitor from the Dragon army, he’s supposed to be so powerful that he had to be stopped by Lord Jazeth…” Josep cringes at the name. “Some even believe he has a Spirit weapon.” this time Maire is worried, to wield a spirit weapon means that one has gone through incredible training, a spirit weapon is a person’s true power in the form of a weapon. ”That’s not what I mean…what does he look like?” Josep stated, as they were about to answer, an explosion is heard in the distance, on the speaker it is heard “Emergency! The Dragon Guard is attacking the Entrainment camp! I repeat! The Dragon Guard is attacking the entrainment camp! Send all available units towar…” the voice ends leaving the station in static as another explosion is heard. “god damn…he’s….hhhe’s over there!” yelps the cop, frightened of going over there, another report comes in .”HELP! He’s a monster! He…he’s destroying everything…please…HE…” Josep isn’t happy.” damn…he’s destroying all communications first…” the cops get in their vehicle and turn on their lights, but their hesitant to go.

Josep is furious, more so with the coward cops, as they argue whether or not to go. ”it‘s mostly just the human side right? No one will care… right?” That put Josep over the edge “fine! If you won’t do anything to help the humans! Then I’ll go! Maire stay here!” with that he runs at an incredible speed, leaving Maire with the cowards. ”Josep! Don’t go! JOSEP!” she screams, but it’s too late, he’s already gone.

[spoiler=Episode 2, Chapter 1]

Justice of the damned

A red-orange glow can be seen from far away, towards the academy. With every step forward the night sky is lit up by the red smoke and ash, the usually quiet night is made loud by the screams of the students as they lose their lives to the beast known as the “Dragon Guard”. “Damn it! This is taking too long!” he thinks along the way, “this is not what the Dragon Guard is supposed to do!” he’s heard the legends, he remembered his mother tell him many times the legend of the Dragon Guard. Many years ago, the last time there was a war between Humans and Dragons, both sides were in strife and in time they had each created a “living weapon” born by men and supposedly given power by the Gods. This was the birth of the first Dragon Guard, one who would bring peace between the two peoples. In the resolution, he created the council of 7 nations, led by Half-dragons, these people would be the mediators between the warring peoples, and for a while, it was successful. The Dragon Guard was revered until he began attacking.

Josep was visibly exhausted, not from the 5 mile run, but from the fear of realizing what he was going to do. He had doubt, but every time he heard the screams he assured himself that this was the correct thing to do, if he could save even one life against this monster, he’d have done good…but that thought quickly went out of his mind, it was as if he was accepting death before it ever happened. He had finally arrived, the building on fire, those lucky enough had gone ahead and ran into the security of the other school buildings, running around their dead comrades, those they had once called friends, and soon enough he also saw in the center, enjoying the destruction, the Dragon Guard himself also known by his true name “Erzor Mantes”

Erzor was holding up a student, pleading for his life, while Erzor’s horrible grin was still visible under a black cloak. “why are you doing this?” asked the boy being held up by his neck, with that Erzor stops his laughing and looks at him. “tell me human do you not fear the Dragons? Are they not the ones that have cause you strain? Well, this is why I fight for your freedom in this putrid world” Josep looks at him, unable to believe the words that were coming out of Erzor’s mouth. “I will set you, and all other humans, free from this world, by taking them away from this world.” the student screams. ”your just gonna kill us all!” upon hearing this, Erzor becomes furious. “How dare you! I am the peacekeeper from the gods themselves! Going against my will is an act of Blasphemy! And I will not tolerate it…for going against the gods! I punish thee, as the enforcer of the gods…Die!” he raises his clawed fist with the pendant and strikes down, but the hit never makes it as a powerful kick goes to his side.

“Man, you talk too much!” yells Josep as the kick makes contact, the student falls down, only to be revealed as Tyre, he coughs as he speaks. “Josep! You made it!…ah…man…I feel like crap.” Josep helps him up .”you look like it too, where’s Zeal?” Tyre looks towards the side, Zeal seems to be in pain, he bleeding profusely, but he’s alive and better yet, still conscious. “This…is a sucky way to …celebrate your birthday…sorry.” Josep helps him up and walk towards where Zeal is. “Don’t be…just be glad you guys are okay…” with those words Josep was thrown to the side by a very angry Dragon Guard. “You fool! What that boy did was Blasphemy…but your sin is greater, the sin of Heresy!” He grabs Josep by the head and picks him up trying to crush his head. “Ahhh! You…” he feels the blood in his head scurry around his arteries, some very close to breaking, but Josep doesn’t just let himself get killed, he lifts his legs and kicks Erzor in the face. He falls to the ground, and coughs up a little blood. “Take that you bastard! An besides…you used the word Heresy incorrectly!” he stands up and looks at Erzor stand up. ”Dammit!”

“Your just a child…and from your smell, your just a human…how do you expect to defeat a former Dragon General?” Josep is in shock now, Erzor’s smile reveals he isn’t lying. “A…general? Crap…” Erzor appears in front of Josep and punches him in the gut. Josep is sent flying away, his shirt torn due to Erzor’s bladed knuckles. Josep looks up at him and sees the glass yellow eye again, it truly was the man he had bumped into earlier, he looked at his arm and saw the stone pendant dangling on his arm. Erzor looked at the boy’s eyes and recognized him. “now I remember you…you’re the boy that bumped in to me…but more importantly, you’re the boy with those dreadful eyes…” he walks over to him and picks him up by the collar. “you have quite a lot of strength in you though…in fact your strength…and your eyes remind me of the man that took my real eye…”

Josep rushes forward and punches Erzor in the stomach with the same force he did with Bane, but to no avail, Josep looks at his own hand as it begins to bleed from cutting itself on the general’s torso, he can see under his cloak now, he wears heavy armor laced in Sharp ornaments, Josep looks up at his chest, parts of the armor had been crushed, as if he had been blasted by a powerful beam. “your hurt?” Erzor reacts and hit’s the boy with a spiked knee, sending him backwards in pain, he grasps at his stomach over the new gap in his flesh. ”Damn….okay…that hurt…” He stands up, holding his side, Erzor is no longer amused with the boy.

“How dare you…the Dragon Guard cannot be hurt…and too point it out is…” Josep laughs a little. ”yeah yeah yeah, I get it…Heresy..” he gets into a fighting position, he looks around, people are still escaping, the cops are trying to regain control of the masses as people watch the student take on a general, they seem impressed, and become more so upon hearing that he’s human, From the Specially enforced Dragon Dormitories Reina looks out her window to see Josep in the fight. “Is…is he really going against a general…but why? He has no reason to do so…” she looks to the side and see the two half-dragons laying hurt to the side. “Is…he doing it for those two? He’s an idiot…he’s going to get himself killed…”

“So…you think I will allow your crime to go unpunished? I will show you what happens to those who go against Justice! Against the Gods! Against ME!” he rams his fist in the ground and causes Josep to fall , the cracks in the floor now make it difficult to stand. “Your insane!” Erzor raises his fist the stone on it is now glowing. “I am….La Justicia!” the stone causes a great explosion in his area, Forcing Josep back into the wall, the dust causes visibility to become impossible, but soon Erzor’s glowing yellow eye is clearly visible, when the dust settles His armor has expanded, the blades have grown out, his eye has created half a crown on his head which seem to have a real eye in the inside of it, and the stone itself has become a large Axe, the pole is decorated with various Dragonic symbols, and the Black blade gives it the shape of a Holy Cross. “Now then…it’s time…”

[spoiler=Episode 2, Chapter 2]

Flames of Sorrow

“So…Human…do you really think you can defeat not only a Dragon General, but one with a spirit weapon? This is…La Justicia! And with it, You will burn in the fires of…” Josep was sick of this, whether or not he was getting his ass handed to him. ”Yeah, I get it…Justice…but look I don’t really care about all that.” He gets in a fighting position, though he only has one arm up as the other is still holding onto his wound. “You really are a brat, here you are, faced with the most majestic of weapons, and you rebel against it!? I will teach you respect human!” Josep smiles. “man you remind me so much of this bastard named Bane…and just like him I’m taking you down!”

Josep rushes forward looking at his opponent’s blank side, his concentration astounds Zeal and Tyre, this coming from the guy that has trouble with push-ups in class, was fighting against a Dragon General, yes, he was losing, but he wasn’t dead yet, but it was still amazing. “Have you ever seen Josep do that?” Zeal asked looking up, as much as he could without straining his neck. “getting his ass whooped…yes…but all those flips, hell no.” Josep is barely hanging on, getting smacked around by the broadside of the axe was no fun at all. One strong blow sent him towards a storage shed, where they normally keep the sports equipment. “Man…I have got to stop letting him hit me like that…” a hockey stick falls off a rack and into his face. “ow…wait…I can use this” it’s just one of the flimsy plastic sticks, but it’s a whole lot better than nothing. “Okay…here goes everything,” he stands up only for Erzor’s axe to come down on the equipment shed’s roof. “Holy Crap!” he rolls forward to avoid getting his head split in two, but as he looks back he sees the entire shed get lifted and thrown in his direction.

“Ooohhh…” he dives under it, but Erzor is waiting, and grabs him, he picks him up and places the blade of his axe on his neck. “Crap…” Erzor smiles. “you know…I have to say that I’ve enjoyed pummeling you…I don’t know why, maybe it’s because I hate those eyes so damn much… and even now…you give me that look, as if you could actually do something…but, you’re worn out, and I’ve had my fun…”he presses the blade harder, breaking Josep’s skin only slightly. “Goodbye…Human…” as he’s about to add the necessary pressure, a spear is jabbed into Erzor’s side. “Graahh! Who dares!” Erzor roared looking at his side to see the young man Tyre, barely holding on to the spear. “Get…your grimy hands off my friend!” he commands as a throwing knife flies towards Erzor’s arm, causing him to drop Josep.

“You heard him…leave…him…alone…you scaly bastard…” Zeal is having difficulty breathing, yet he stands up. Erzor takes out the knife and laughs. “so…you Halflings actually want to protect the human? It goes against my will! I will set him free, do you not understand that?” Zeal Throws another, this one misses completely, but it showed his retaliation. “we understand perfectly fine…you’re a jabroni…that’s all.” Erzor is furious. “How dare you! I am the Drag…” a sword pierces the angered Dragon from behind, he looks back after feeling the sharp blow to see a young girl. “Your no Dragon Guard! Your nothing but a thug, dishonored from the army and with no purpose in life…” Maire stood strong, she was terrified of the tall Dragon, but until she could get Josep somewhere safe she didn’t care.

“Now!” Taking advantage of the simultaneous distractions Zeal throws another knife this one hits, but does not go through the General’s armor, Tyre on the other hand thrusts the spear into the dragon‘s knee, causing him to bellow in pain. In the more secure area of the Dragon Dormitory, Reina looks around, it’s too dangerous to send help, but were the professors planning on letting those students die? Shouldn’t they be helping as well? She could only wonder as to why the military hadn’t been alarmed as well. “What the funk is going on? When is the help going to arrive?!” she screamed towards a petrified crowd , only receiving blank stares as an answer, no one was coming, no more police, no firemen for the building, and absolutely no ambulance for the wounded. She was angry at the inactivity, though she knew deep in her heart, she wouldn’t have the courage to go out there even if she could.

Josep has finally gotten enough strength to stand up. “man…this guy sure knows how to tire one out…” he looks towards his friends. “thanks…” was all he said before Maire threw him the Hockey stick. “not to complain, but how come I get the flimsy stick?” he says as he rushes towards Erzor, as the beast swipes at him, he dives down and uses the edge of the stick to trip Erzor into the ground, Maire and Tyre taking advantage to attack his torso, but again, his armor prevents it, and their weapons get stuck in the convoluted spikes of the suit. He then begins standing up “You have all caused me enough trouble…you Halflings seem to desire death and so I will ble…ragggh!” Zeal threw another knife into his back, this one managing to injure him.

“Your deaths are going to be far from peaceful now…” you could easily tell he was pissed off. “ I will make sure every fiber of your being feels pain before your deaths!” he opens his mouth and shoots a large fireball towards Zeal, who jumps out at the last second. “Dude…two words…breath mints…heh heh..” while he was laughing he hissed in pain at the fire that had caught his foot, these flames were beyond normal. “Damn…that hurt” Zeal begins crawling away, but Erzor walks towards his direction, Josep runs in front f him and smacks Erzor with the end of the hockey stick, only for it to break off upon contact. “crap..” Josep is swiped away, while Erzor may want him dead, he would get rid of Josep last.

“Josep!” Maire yelled as she rand to help him up, that last strike had been hard and had probably broken a rib or three. “Now then human this is where you all suffer…” as he walks towards Zeal he kicks up his weapon back into his own hand, he raises his axe and points it at Zeal, with that it bursts into flame. “Flama de la Justicia!” A blast of fire, more intense than Erzor’s own rushes towards the grounded boy, but it is stopped mid-way by Tyre, the flames disperse, leaving only the shaking boy with his spear in hand. “Stay…away!” yells Tyre as he thrusts the spear forward into Erzor’s armor, only for the spear tip to break off, in an instant, so much happened, before the spear tip even fell. Tyre looked up, his eyes seemingly in synchronization with the axe blade, and as it went down, so did his eyes, one last time.

[spoiler=Episode 2, Chapter 3]

Happy Birthday

Josep, Maire, and Zeal’s eyes widened, but no one’s eyes were wider than Tyre, he saw below himself in shock, the pain was indescribable, but it lasted only a few seconds. As the bottom half of his body went the other way, so did his spinal connection. The upper half looked over towards Josep for only a few seconds, mouthing something inaudible, but by the time he reached he floor, he had nothing more to say. Before the spear tip reached the ground, Josep’s friend, Tyre Lorenz, was dead.

“No…no no…no no no…no…” Josep was at a loss for words, he could only stare blankly as it all unfurled. Zeal couldn’t bear to watch, Tyre had been his best friend, only a few days ago, they were teasing Josep and Maire about liking each other. only a few hours ago, they were enjoying Josep’s birthday, only a few minutes ago, before all of this, they were planning on where to spend summer vacation. Erzor kept his smile. “I was far too merciful…oh well…” Zeal wouldn’t take this laying down, this man may be a Dragon General, but he wasn’t afraid of him, he looked towards Josep, motionless, and Maire, who was about to cry and stood up. “You bastard! You killed my best friend!”

Zeal runs towards Erzor, infuriated with his friends demise, as he runs, he unsheathes his last dagger and jumps in the air, his burned leg giving him a hard time with the initial jump. “Die you son of a bi…” Erzor punches him in the gut and throws him across the courtyard, but in his anger he stands up and walks back, the knife still in hand. “I see your still not giving up…not bad Halfling…” he raises his axe again and the fire engulfs it again. “Flama, de la Justicia!” the fire ball hits Zeal, but he keeps it at bay, being pushed back and scorched by the blaze is the least of his worries, once it dissipates he stands up again, ashes falling from him, his own skin falling off as it is torched and flaking quickly. “ahhhhhhh!” he screams in pain, the students and teachers in the dormitories are frightened.

Josep hears Zeal’s scream and comes out of his shock and looks up, next to him Maire is crying in fear, he sees the top half of Tyre staring back at him, and he sees Zeal, his iconic smile changed into the screaming face of pain. “So…it seems your will is strong enough to take a Flame of justice…but let’s see how you handle this…” He lifts his axe up and begins twirling counterclockwise, a flame trail being left behind with each swing until the shaft of the axe is aflame, “Now then Perish! Metralleta the Flama!” the various trails all speed towards Zeal, who can no longer move, each blast hurts him severely and unlike the normal attack these seem to go through the victim, scorching heat going through his organs, one strong blast through his heart was enough to stop it, and the blasts going through the lungs ended his breathing, but he was still alive, barely.

“Zeal!!!” Maire exclaimed, she herself couldn’t move, but out of fear instead of pain. To her side Josep was still looking into the abyss, “Josep…please…we have to get out of here, he’ll kill us too…please…we’ve already lost our friends, I don’t want to lose you…” Erzor looked back at them and smiled, “and now, for the main attraction…I wonder how you’ll like picking up the remains of your girlfriend…” he raises his axe, and in retaliation Maire throws her sword, which hits him in the wrist, causing him to drop his weapon. “now what was that for?” he asked maliciously. “Stay away from us!” she yells as she nudges Josep to move away. Josep can hear her pleading, but he can’t react, in his mind he remembers many things, but none of it makes sense.

He sees a cathedral. He looks around only to see the darkness in the hallways, the only light coming from the occasional lightning bolt shining through the stained glass windows. He tries to speak, but he can’t even breathe, a deep well of guilt in the pit of his stomach, he can hear chanting, all the sounds are of a death wish, the chants are directed towards him. He doesn’t understand why, why do they want him dead, what has he done, he looks at his hands, covered with blood, but why? The chants are coming closer and in fear he crawls backwards to bump into something, or someone, he looks back to see a woman, someone he recognizes, a loved one, dead, who did this? Was it him? Why? Why did this happen? The mob arrives and run inside, they would kill him, there was no hope, he had no hope, no hope.

“JOSEP! Wake up!” Please! Don’t leave me here! …Please…” you can hear the tears coming from her voice as she choked on her own words. Erzor had stopped for now, when the police had finally arrived and began attacking, but Erzor was easily taking care of them. Josep looked around. “There…really is no hope…” he said to himself, but at that moment he felt a sharp pain on his cheek, Maire had slapped him. “No! I won’t hear you speak like that! Not you, never!” he was shocked. “Maire?” she was still crying. “I won’t hear it from you…not you…you’re the only reason…I ever have hope…the only reason…I even believe in what I do…”

“And what is that…” he asked, he was confused, he had never known what Maire’s wish truly was, did he really have something to do with it? “Like you always say…a world in which Dragons and Humans can coexist…that’s what my parents taught me…but it’s your resolve that showed me it was possible…so I don’t want to hear that from you…never again…” Josep didn’t know what to say, he started getting up, he looked behind her, as Erzor was still busy, this would be there chance to escape. “You’re right Maire…I can’t…give up hope…not now…” he takes her hand and they both try to get through the flames. but as Josep is moving away some of the rubble and Maire walks to help him with it, she feels a sharp pain from her back, and as she looks towards her chest, she sees the spear tip dripping with her own blood, Josep looks from the side, horrified, as she is pulled back by the rope tied onto it, Erzor can be heard laughing. Josep looks into Maire’s eyes one last time, before she is pulled back, and once he lost contact with her eyes, he lost all contact with the world.

[spoiler=Episode 2, Chapter 4]

The Blood Prince

Josep’s eyes had widened, and with it his conscious had lost all control. “Maire…” Erzor began walking towards the boy, having picked up his axe and leaving the girl behind. “Well well well. It looks like I get to finally have some fun with you Human…the other three are gone and now you will suffer the same.” He raises his axe over his head and lifts up to execute him. “good bye.” he drops it down, and with it Josep’s eyes reform, this time slit like a Dragon’s, they go from a calm light brown to a dark red, and an inch before the axe touches his head a clawed hand is holding on to the blade. “So…you believe yourself to be without sin? Is that what you say?” the voice was no longer Josep’s, it was far lower, with a growling echo beneath each word.

“What the…how did you…and what kind of question is that? I am the Dragon Guard…no other can judge me…for I am Just…” a powerful fist hits him in the gut, his armor cracking under pressure, Erzor spits out blood from his mouth. “How dare you…do you know who I a…” the fist goes in deeper, it’s as if he were being punched in by a freight train. “Graahh! I will not tolerate this…” he feels himself being lifted into the air, Josep is only using his fist to hold the goliath up, and is then thrown into the burning building, the walls collapsing down on him causing smoke to rise up into the air, making it difficult for the remaining police and the on looking students from watching.

“What’s going on down there?” asks a lieutenant as the building is falling apart, though no one can give him an answer. A Helicopter arrives and overlooks the situation, in the plane is an old man, bearded , and wearing a suit of armor, reminiscent of Erzor’s own with a matching eye patch over his right eye, he seems to be in his mid-60’s and is surrounded by a few soldiers wearing similar clothing, one a teenage girl, no older than Josep. “Well…looks like he’s really grown up gramps…” she said rather happily. “Should we take him in now?” The elder warrior speak.” not just yet…he’s only shown rage so far in this battle…”

“You never answered my question…Dragon Guard…do you believe yourself to be without sin?” he asked the General on the ground, he was becoming impatient, and appeared before him grabbing Erzor by his armored collar. “ANSWER ME!” He commanded as he shoved his clawed hand into the wound he had seen earlier, causing Erzor to scream in great pain. From the cloud of smoke no one could truly tell who was in pain, but Josep knew what he was doing, and he knew it was wrong, he took his hand out and saw the blood drip from the claws, they were not his, this was not his hand.

He dropped Erzor to the ground and began to walk away. “I’m through with you…get the hell out of my sight…” he began walking away, but Erzor would not take this lying down. “No!…I am the Dragon Guard! You will not defeat me! You cannot defeat me! I am Justice…I am God!” he rushes towards Josep, his Axe still in hand. “I will kill you!” Josep turns around and stands there, paying him no mind, until he cot closer, and closer. The old man in the helicopter is impressed. “He seems to be ready, though I had hoped we could take Erzor into custody…but the fool has sealed his own fate.” The girl was confused. “what’cha talkin’ bout Gramps?” she soon got her answer. “On my signal…we all jump down, we can’t let the people know what Josep is capable of.

All the spectators kept watch, they had heard screaming, but everyone believed it to be Josep, when they saw the people jump from the Helicopter they knew, a Royal Guard had appeared, if anything could defeat this man General, it would be the Royal Guard, and better yet, The Royal Guard and King of Yurage, Sarume Meseito. But before they could reach the Ground Erzor Mantes was dead, Maire’s sword had gone through his heart. Josep had heard his last words well, words that resonated through him for some reason. “I am…The Dragon Guard” he didn’t know why he repeated them, but that didn’t matter.

He was on the floor now, looking into Maire’s calm eyes. “Maire…please…say something…” he looked at her and she tried to smile. “I’m sorry…I’m such a burden…I’m really sorry.” Josep’s eyes began tearing up. “no…don’t…please, just save your strength…we’ll get through this Maire…don’t worry…please don’t worry…just…keep yourself awake…don’t close your eyes…don’t leave me…please…don’t leave me…I can’t stay here, not without you…” She caressed his face and smiled. “I’m…glad, your okay…Josep…please…promise me…keep your hope…alive…for me…” He was crying uncontrollably now, his tears falling on her face. “No…Maire…stay with me…I…I love you.” She smiled. “Thank you…for telling me…that’s all… I ever wanted to hear…” she takes a deep breath and raises herself to kiss him for only a brief moment, as they break she speaks “I love y…” she couldn’t end her sentence as her head rested back on his knee and she closed her eyes.

It was slow for her, her thoughts were cloudy, but she began thinking, back when she met that loudmouth Human for the first time, when she was chosen to be his guide for the first year, when they first became friends back when they were 10, when they began practicing in the academy, when they would never forget each other’s birthday’s, when he warded off all the mean students from her when she couldn’t control the Dragon blood in her, when he saved her from her abusive first boyfriend, when she fell in love with him, when they first kissed. When they last kissed. As the thoughts began going through her head more slowly, she smiled she opened her eyes to see him one last time, just one…last…time.

“Goodbye”

The smoke was still causing the visibility to be nearly zero, the guards walked near the fallen Josep, A few picking up Erzor’s dead body. “man, kid really did a number on him…” stated one of the Guards, but Josep wouldn’t hear it, he just wanted to be alone, a hand rested on his shoulder, it was an armored hand, but in no way did it emit Erzor’s aura. “I’m sorry…it seems we came too late to help you…but by the time we got here we could not have done anything for her.” Josep doesn’t look at him, but he recognizes his voice as his benefactor, the man that helped him stay in the academy. “I had hoped this day would never come…and I will do whatever I can to prevent it…” He hits him in the back of his neck, Josep, not even fighting back, falls down into the ground.

Council of Fangs

The battle against Erzor had become great news around the world, the deaths of the humans and half-dragons were never really mentioned, and the news of a human going against Erzor was kept in secret from the public, and all credit for the battle was given to Sarume Meseito, though if course, one would have to believe that the debriefing, surely was just a humble piece of hell. So as Sarume entered the building, you could surely tell, he was not going to enjoy this meeting, considering, “he” was going to be there.

The room was grand, and the chandeliers lit the room brilliantly, though even then, the room felt dark, in the center of the room was a large table, and leading the council would be The Crown prince of the Dragon Kingdom, Raico Sai De Drago, he was an intelligent looking man in his late 20’s with dark blond hair and even darker blue eyes, despite his position of power, he only lazily sat by in the side. “Well then…let this meeting commence now that Master Sarume has arrived…” he let out a large yawn as Sarume sat down. “Thank you for waiting, my plane took a unexpected detour, but we’ve arrived. He took a seat in the Violet Throne, representing the continent of Darkness, Yurage, behind him, his most trusted Guard Ryuichi Verux, and his 2nd Guard, his own Great-Granddaughter Serina Meseito. To his Right sat Prince Raico in the Golden Throne, who came with only his half Brothers Jaine Kai de Drago and Jero Mai de Drago as his Guards .

Next in line opposite of Sarume in the White Throne sat Raizen Kimaiyi leader of Tengame, continent of Light, to his side stood his guard Masako Lumina, and his daughter, Hikari Kimaiyi who seemed to be paying more attention to the Princes in the room than the talks. After them was the Blue Throne, Where Queen Kai-Li of Mizurai, the Continent of Water sat, to her sides she had her Guards, one her own daughter Princess Xian-Li, next to her, her fiancé Zen-Long, who also served as 1st guard. Xian-Li was quite the opposite of Hikari, taking this mission far more seriously than the light Princess. To the Right in the Green Throne was Kazuma Uinde representing Karewa, the Continent of Wind. His Guards are Saiyu Omegi, a ditzy girl, who just doesn’t seem to belong there, and his Son Takeshi Uinde, who’s solemn look seems to attract princess Hikari, though he pays no mind.

Opposite of Prince Raico in the Grey Throne for Otonken, Continent of Sound, is Shishio Kaisuno, who seems angry at the slow pace of the council, as his Guard, Ryokoro Akureiji, seems to have the same feeling, though his daughter, Maki Kaisuno, seems worried with her father’s anger issues…again. In the Yellow Throne for the Continent of Earth, Tsukima, was the strong Burly man Tauro Misawa, who was anxious for the possibility of a good revolt he could crush, sharing his sentiments, but also feeling great annoyance towards being ignored by Hikari, was his son, Daichi Misawa, and next to him, the quiet Kinyi Tsumi, stood paying attention only to Prince Raico. Finally in The Red Throne…Snoring for the honor of The Continent of Fire Hikana, was The current Fire Lord, Ryuji Santeo. About to smack the Z’s out of him was his fiancée Ayemi Renda. And the only person keeping her back was Ryuji’s trusted Guard, Rydan Ayiodo. Though whether or not he would succeed was to be seen. But above the council, in The Black Throne, reserved for the Imperial General, sat the true leader of the council, he smiled as he heard them speak of the menial topics, but was interested about the one involving the Dragon Guard, He was the 2nd prince in line, and known as the most powerful man in the army, Jazeth Sai de Drago. He rose to speak.

“So…I enjoyed that last debacle you all had…who again…was this “Dragon Guard?” he asked Sarume, who looked at him with a type of disappointment. “Very well…Lord Jazeth…The man that pretended to be the Dragon Guard, was none other than Erzor Mantes of Hikana, the man whose eye you took as a trophy of Humiliation.” Jazeth smiled. ”I see…so it was that weakling 3rd rate general causing all that trouble…so…how’d you do it?” he asked, defiantly, as if he didn’t believe Sarume had done it. “Because according to our autopsy report, he was impaled by a student’s weapon…” Sarume sighs. ”Erzor had managed to take my weapon away, I managed to use another weapon before he counterattacked…” Jazeth laughs. “Am I supposed to believe the great Sarume Meseito was disarmed by a worm such as Erzor?” Raico gives him a look, saying that time was running short for the meeting. “Then I guess your just getting old…Master…” Sarume bows, only hoping for this council to end.

“I assume your all through with discussions? Of course, I wish to go further into this matter involving the Dragon Guard…but of course, it is in your territory Ryuji…so I believe you should be the one to deal with it…understood?” Ryuji looks at him and smiles. “yeah sure…whatever…” Ryuji stands up and stretches his back, though of course, some of the other Leaders aren’t to happy with his attitude, namely Tauro and Raizen. “Young Lord Ryuji…is it wise to speak to Lord Jazeth like that?” stated Raizen, trying to act all formal. Tauro on the other hand, was a bit more gruff. Don’t sugarcoat it Raizen, the boy is being a bastard again.” Ryuji snickers a little at their comments. “Man…are we really debating this? For world leaders, you guys really are immature…” Tauro stands up and slams his fist on the table. “You little bit…” a rapier is quickly unsheathed and pointed at his neck, Ryuji’s Guard, Rydan Ayiodo is quite the defensive one, even if it would mean going against a General. “I do not believe my Lord meant to be disrespectful to you or Lord Raizen…I do think the conversation was beginning to venture into trivial matters however…so if we could all just calm down…” he notices that while the Earth prince was distracted, the Guard, Kinyi Tsumi was just as prepared as he was, though neither of them wanted to fight, in order to protect their Leader’s they were willing to do whatever. Tauro sat down and glared at the Human, though he knew he was right, back in the balcony, Jazeth clapped. ”These meetings never get boring…but I have to say…we’re are overdue…so I call this meeting to a close.” He stands up and picks up a rather larges Sword to the side, placing it in a holster on his back.

Rydan sheathes his rapier as well, he takes a deep breath, now that the meeting is over, though he feels a cold glare from above, being the only human in the Council was quite the problem, but he managed to get by. As he looked towards his leaders chair, he noticed…he was gone. “Lord…Ryuji?” unbeknownst to him, Ryuji was standing on his head, how he didn’t feel it was unknown, but Ryuji is quite the odd one. “Still a lil slow aren’t you?” he jumped down only to get smacked behind the head by Ayemi. “OOOW!” He yelped.” what was that for?” Ayemi just looks as the other guards leave the room. “You’re an idiot…are you trying to get Rydan killed?” Rydan bows slightly. “I’m sure Lord Ryuji is trying no such thing…” though Ryuji smiles. “nah…but I like it when Rydan gets all proper like that…it’s like a movie…” he gets smacked again.

Later on in Ryuji’s chamber a messenger runs towards the large Elaborate door with the symbol of fire on it. “My Lord…you’ve been given a message…from Lord Sarume…” says Rydan as he receives the info. “all righty…let me see…” he takes a good look at the message. “So…Sarume wants to have a picnic?” he looks at the message very carefully. “In a recent visit to your country, I found quite the interesting area for a picnic, We will provide the food and beverages, we only wish for you to grace us with your permission and attendance. We will bring along a few people as well to make the evening more pleasurable…though we may need quite a few days to set up a large party as we have in mind…” he smiles, though Rydan is confused. “In a time such as this, can we afford to waste time with a picnic?” Ryuji looks over to him. “Just relax Rydan, why not enjoy some time off…go on vacation…get a girlfriend…maybe even…go back to school…” Now even Ayemi was smiling. “Uhm…sir…what are you talking about?” Ryuji stands up as he looks at his message again. “What do the words…Entrainment academy mean to you?”

[spoiler=Episode 3, Chapter 1]

Spirit of Fire

The Trail leading to Hikana from Neoseida was always a treacherous one, and he knew he would have to keep his Lord safe from anything on the way back. But Rydan was always prepared, it was something he was always taught, by his family, and also by Lord Ryuji. A s he saw his lord go inside his carriage he looked to the side to see those that wished them farewell, there were those that did not surprise him…such as Lady Kai-Li, who was always kind to both his Lord and himself, if anything, she was a saint, though her Daughter seemed less than pleased to be there, With their rise into the ranks of Knighthood she had become a bit more distant, mostly due to the fact that her new Fiancé seemed to control who she was allowed to socialize with, She seemed to want to say something, but in the end, she didn’t. He also saw people he did not expect to be there, Ryuichi Verux and Ryokoro Akureiji at the top of the Staircase, looked down, both with a serious face, but it was nice of them to come…kind of. As he himself mounted his own steed he felt a cold chill run down his spine, it was an appropriate feeling for one being stared down by Jazeth who was at a Balcony overlooking the Departure.

To his side stood Princess Jaine, 5th in line to the throne, but the only member of The royal family that seemed to truly “interest” him. As Jazeth left the scene Jaine’s expression changed into a subtle smile for Rydan, which he reciprocated ever so slightly. “Yo Rydan! Let’s go!” said Ryuji, snapping the Guard from his daze. “Pardon me sir…” Ryuji looked up and smiled. “it’s okay, I get stuck looking at pretty girls as well.” next thing he knows he’s just been smacked behind the head, and the carriage begins to move, Rydan calmly following along.

While the trip would only be to the airport, Rydan himself enjoyed the outdoors far more than the stuffy indoor world. The roads they had paved for the Royal Carriages were also quite nice, though despite his severe loyalty, he did wonder, what would it be like to stray from that path, to see the world from the side of the road. “You sure are spacing out a lot today…aren’t ya?” stated Ryuji, smiling at him. “Is this trip really that boring…no let me rephrase that…how much longer…I’m bored as hell…” Rydan gives a small hint of a smile, though he still must be wary, Ryuji was right, he was spacing out far too much.

Once he began sensing around the area he felt a multitude of Auras, most were benign spirits from the animals living in the woods they traveled in, but deep in the woods, he felt something a bit more sinister, he looked around, again, the time had seemed elapsed, and in his state of delusion, he noticed, they were no longer in the path of the Royals. Though deep down he enjoyed the idea of being somewhere new, he also wondered. “My Lord…why have we strayed from the main path?” Ayemi was the one who answered since it seemed Ryuji was sleeping. “He said something about this path would be more fun…” she seemed a little worried, and with good reason, the more malevolent aura seemed to grow nearer with each passing second. It was very quick, and as it neared, one could tell it was Bipedal. “Lady Ayemi…please wake Lord Ryuji…things won’t be going well here in a few moments.

He knew that the carriage itself would be quite resistant to whatever attack that came towards them, but he was sure he wasn’t. He jumped of his horse and looked towards the woods, and waited, his hand at his sword’s sheath just in case. ”Very well…who goes there? I warn you, sneaking up on me is not recommended” he hears nothing, but a large wall of flame goes through the trees, leaving them unmarked, but as the flames get near Rydan, he counters with his own fire blast that is released as he brings out his sword. The figure jumps out and tries to attack with his spear, Rydan easily dodges by moving through the sides, the spear going through his clothes, he finally sees the assailants’ face, it is covered in war paint, his clothing seems to be a form of primitive armor. His head dress was Feathered, they were brightly colored and seemed to shine with the colors of the Sunset. He screamed in some indigenous language.

“Well, it seems that negotiations are out of the question.” Says Rydan to himself as he rushes through, the Spear still caught in his robe, he pushed him down with his elbow, the assailant tries to grab him, but as his back hit’s the floor, he finds himself unable to move. “What exactly are you doing here? There are no Phoenix tribes around for miles…” he asked no one, he knew he didn’t understand, as he was subduing the perpetrator, he wondered why he was so far from the closest reserve, and why he was out here, only a few miles away from the kingdom…yes, the Phoenicians hated the Dragon Kingdom, but was this man seriously going to try to go against the whole Kingdom? “Unfortunately….I don’t know what to do with you…” he simply took a few moments to cuff his hands and legs.

“I’ll just have to leave you back in your lands…“Rydan stood up and looked at the defeated warrior and was about to simply get back on his horse when the assailant jumped up and tore off the cuffs. Running towards Ryuji’s Carriage when Rydan appeared in front of him, but with his back turned to him, The Phoenician screamed something but his statement was cut short as he was hit with a very fast Reverse spin kick, he couldn’t even see Rydan’s quick movements as it happened instantaneously, having had the time to duck down, only to propel himself to take three spins in the air to finally connect his heel to the man’s lower jaw. ”I warned you not to sneak up on me…” the native rolled back a few feet, barely conscious, but it seemed he would not take this defeat standing down, as Rydan took his silence as a forfeit, the man brought out a knife and stabbed himself in the heart, greatly confusing the young knight.”Wha?” He was soon answered by the snoring Lord, his dizziness still audible in his voice. “Phoenicians…have this weird thing about reviving themselves in fire…real freaky stuff dude….” as he said this the native began falling apart, as if crumbling upon his own body as his skin color became a dark ash color, eventually scattering with the wind. “See what I mean? freaky…officially…he’s gone…but we’ll see him again…someday.” with that he went back to sleep, leaving Rydan to his thoughts. “What….was that?”

[spoiler=Episode 3,Chapter 2]

Dawn of a new day

Pulse beating, head throbbing, Blood felt cold, and everything was dark. Josep felt horribly as he tried moving about in his bed, the feeling of just waking up hurt him, and moving about was difficult. “Where….where the hell am I?” After finally gaining enough consciousness things started clearing up, when he opened his eyes it seemed that he was in a white room. It was weird. He kept looking around, but he only saw that there were medical posters around. “Am I in….a hospital?” he was still drowsy…either from too much sleep, or possibly the medication he was taking for the beating he had received“….wait….beating, hospital, that meant….Erzor!” he jumped out of bed, his body still hurt but he needed to know, how was everybody else?

He walked towards the door to the hallway outside but as he opened the door he was greeted by a three strange figures, two of them seem to be normal people in black jumpsuits with oddly shaped blue visors, the one in the center was dressed oddly as well, but in his heavily medicated state he couldn’t see his features too well, besides the fact that he wore a mask. “Good to see your awake, Prince…” Josep staggered back a little, worried about the fact that he knew about him. ”you look surprised…but I swear, you don’t do a good job of hiding yourself…you didn’t even change your first name…honestly…Zavara? Someone was bound to ask questions, your highness…” Josep was getting annoyed.

”look, I don’t know who the hell you are…but I want answers…where are Maire and the others?” he stumbles a little, making the figure look at him curiously as he takes a seat. “Well, I guess I should introduce myself before anything correct? My name…Is simply known as Nazo….” Josep is confused, it was the Tengamen(Japanese) word meaning, Mystery…and even worse, it was the word that stood for…Enigma, something he was oh too familiar with.

“That doesn’t answer my question…where are they?” he was serious, albeit in no position to make threats. Nazo simply sighed. “They’re dead Josep…they have been for 7 weeks now.” Josep’s eyes widened in shock. “No….it can’t be…..” Nazo made no attempt to comfort him. “The funerals were held a while ago The families of Zeal and Tyre wept…but Maire…well, she was an odd one, no records whatsoever, not even a mention of her being an adoptee… according to our files…she didn’t exist…” Josep became angry upon hearing that. “What do you mean by that! “ he raised a fist towards the strange man only for his two guards to raise their swords. “I’m not saying anything bad about her…I’m just saying…she’s not registered anywhere…and well…” he stops talking as he sees the topic hurts him. “I did not come here to speak of the dead, instead I am here to warn you…once you return to school, the Dragon army is starting to look for you. Josep was worried, did he reveal himself during the fight? Is that why Lord Sarume came? How could they have guessed so quickly?

“How do you know? How can I trust you?” Nazo could only look on as his mask hid his facial expressions. “Your just going to have to. We can not say for certain who it is, but we hear that since you left, many new students have joined the academy, all about a week after the incident…but at least one of them is a Dragon Army Spy, you must find him and neutralize the operation as quickly as possible, or else the Hikanan Government will be on to you. Nazo stood up and extended his hand for a hand shake. “For now…there is no one else you can trust Prince Josep, Sarume and I will do what we can for you, but you must remain anonymous for now, we have taken enough measures for this little mess-up, but next time you reveal your Dragon abilities, we may not be able to help.” Josep looked at his hand, very unsure of anything he said, but he was right, he had no one else he could trust.

“Fine, whatever you say…but I still don’t know…why are you helping me?” They begin to shake hands, but as he does, Josep is electrocuted and eventually falls to the ground unconscious. “I’ll tell you some day, but for now, we can’t have you talking about us….” he looks at one of his subordinates. “Make sure he is released from this holding as soon as possible, once he’s in his dorm he won’t exactly have anyone to talk to.” It was a cold thing to say, but he meant nothing of it, He and the other Guard open a window and jump out, while the last guard remains and removes her outfit, changing into more casual clothes. As she places Josep in bed she sighs. “You’ve already gone through hell and back kid….too bad it’s nowhere near over for you…” she lightly kisses him upon his forehead as a nurse walks in. “Oh…uhm…sorry to interrupt,” she stated, but the guard smiled and simply stated. “Oh it’s nothing, I’m just glad my little brother is safe….I’m just gonna sign him out okay? Mother is sick and worried about him….”

Yet again Josep awoke to a cold chill in his spine. The difference was that now he was in his room. “Damn…how did he do that?” It had been a long time since he fainted, and he was hungry, but despite what he did, he still had to go to class. No one really noticed him as usual, being covered by all that smoke and soot made it difficult for anyone to recognize him back then, so now, he’s just Josep again. He saw outside at the areas being repaired. It was odd, but it was also difficult for him to watch. Once he entered his class, he noticed a new teacher in place. He realized his old teacher had more than likely perished. As he sat down he looked at the seat in the room, so many were empty, yet some had been filled by new people. But the seat that seemed to hurt him was the one next to him, the one that belonged to Maire. He sighed and was about to begin trying to forget her, but it was quite difficult, in his mind he could still see her…that was, until someone sat down. “Uhm…excuse me…” he was taken out of his daze as he looked up at the red-head in the chair. “You must be new…even newer than I am…Name’s Ryden…Ryden Ayiodo…”

[spoiler=Episode 3,Chapter 3]

Unnecessary Tension

For a good while Josep wondered what he should do…Should he slap this bastard? Should he politely ask him to move?…Should he Slap this bastard? “Uhm…..uh….Josep….yeah…that’s my name….” it was a rather unsmooth way to present himself, but in his defense…he had never been smooth. “Zavara….that’s my last name….” he was in such a state of anger he was babbling like a schoolgirl with a crush…which in no way helped this situation. “You know…let me just sit down and shut up…” thankfully he does so, ending this horribly embarrassing spectacle. “Very well…nice to meet you Josep.” Ryden stated with the most sincere and kind smiles you could imagine, but deep down, Josep wanted to choke him, there was just something about this guy that annoyed the ever living hell out of him.

Class thankfully began, allowing Josep some time to rationalize in his head what he should do, he had to be kind, considering he was new and all, and it wasn’t his fault he was sitting in Maire’s seat…or was it? Maybe this guy had no decency in the least and got a kick from desecrating where the dearly departed once laid…of course that was a bit farfetched so his mind wandered back into slapping him. As class went by Josep found himself not understanding a damn thing the teacher said, no one was going to tell him what chapter they’re in…so he scurried through the pages trying to match Ryden’s on, but as he struggles, he hears a faint voice from the red-head. “Chapter 17-Declaration of Worlds, Page 142, section 3, paragraph 4...” Ryden smiled after seeing Josep struggle with the page, but decided it would be best to help him out, though Josep was none to happy with it. “I could have found the page without you…” he sneered.

“Of course…I just wanted to help…” with that he went back to reading, and by the speed his eyes were moving, one could tell he was going pretty quickly, Josep looked at the paragraphs, and noticed they were quite large…he attempted to read quickly…but utterly failed and got dizzy after a few sentences, and as he fell from the nausea it almost reminded him how he would often do these sort of stupid things with Zeal, he looked up in front of his seat…yet it was an empty seat, he turned his head to look out the window instead, but instead saw the courtyard where he an Tyre would “train” to impress the girls in the academy…never worked. He looked down at his desk, trying desperately not to think of her, but he noticed looking around himself, that he had no one to comfort him.

After classes had finally ended it was time for Gym, of course classes were separated by Humans, Dragons, and Halflings, but that normally didn’t stop Maire from visiting…Josep looked over towards the door, and for a second he waited to see if she would enter…but then he returned to his favorite bleacher, there he could sit and no one would bother him…one minute later however. “Uhm…excuse me…Josep, my team is one person short…you think you could help?” he looked up, it was odd that anyone would know his name. “Sure…” he regretted that answer soon enough, looking up, it was that kid again…Ryden, but now…it was too late.

Ryden stood at the center of the ring, with a ball in hand, it was none other than…a dodge ball. “Crap, no one told me it was dodge ball.” he looked towards the rival team, not only were they all better players…they were dragons….one could tell as they were all panting like dogs with their reptilian tongues. ”What the hell man! Who’s on our side?” he looks back and sees all humans…one could tell because they were all shaking in fear and complaining about the fact that they were human. Josep looked towards Ryden with an expression that screamed. “Are you serious?” with the sound of a whistle, the match began, a fastball headed towards one of the squeamish looking humans in their team “Oh my god!!!!!” he yelled as the ball threw him back into the bleachers, a loud thud going ahead and following soon after.

“Holy crap….did that really just happen?” Josep shouted as he looked back, the guy was beyond out. “Josep! Dodge!!!!” yelled Rydan, and for a brief instant Josep’s eyes widened, like a deer in headlights. “Hell no!!!!” Josep moved to the side, The ball hitting one of the guy’s behind him, by now Rydan had grabbed a ball and launched it with great force, smacking a Dragon in the stomach and leaving him gasping for air. “damn…what the hell was that?” the student asked as he fell down. “Seriously….how the hell DID he do that?” Josep asked . Another ball went towards him. “why is everyone aiming at me?” he claimed as he jumped back to give himself enough time to catch the ball, taking the other player out. The Dragon leaving the field disgruntled.

“Not bad “ stated the rival team captain, he was less than amused about the fact that not only did they lose a member but they also had one beaten down, both by humans. On Ryden’s team one of the members attempts to grab a ball only to get bombarded by the enemy. Leaving only Josep and Ryden remaining. “Well, Josep it seems we’re on the losing end…shall we change that?” Josep nearly screams. “Of course we should change it, what the hell are you asking for?!” he grabs a ball and runs towards the front the Dragon’s anticipating the throw, but Josep fakes them out while Ryden takes a shot, pre-arranged? No one could tell, but it worked, having nothing to defend with and the fact that the Dragon’s wasted their early lead by attacking with all their “munitions” Ryden jumped on Josep’s back and struck down two on their opponent’s side, taking them out. “Hellz yeah!” Josep shouted until the opposing team countered throwing a rather fast attack, Ryden turned around, and even looked like he was going to catch it, but simply allowed it to hit his arm. “Darn…I’m out…looks like it’s all on you Josep…” he said as he left the field.

Josep had seen that…Ryden took himself out on purpose. But why? That was when it hit him. Ryden was quite the odd one, but their was always the chance that he could be the spy that Nazo spoke of, wasn’t it odd that it seemed Ryden wanted to know him better? As if he were studying him. During all of this thought the last dodge ball was zooming towards him, and it wasn’t until he heard a female voice scream “Dodge!!!” that he reacted, diving down and grabbing another ball throwing it towards his opponent’s head, the hit making secure contact. ”Yesss!!!!!” he yelled in excitement only to calm down when only two other people in the court were cheering. One being Ryden, and the other voice, coming from the girl’s side of the room, Reina. “Good job cutie…” she stated, Making Josep feel a little weird, no one had ever really called him “cutie”. So he walked towards her direction to tell her what she was thinking, he could get killed for talking to a Dragon female.

Ryden walked alongside him smiling. “You…what the hell do you want? “ Ryden just smiled looking towards Reina. “Is she your girlfriend? She’s very pretty…” Josep gives him a murderous look. “no….she is not, she’s just a crazy girl I need to set straight…why you following‘ me anyway?” Ryden continued to smile. “I see you as a friend…” upon hearing those words, Josep never thought he would ever want to strangle a person more than he did right there, he pretty much just stated he was a spy…but he could be wrong, he could honestly be a nice guy, but he couldn’t trust anybody, and right now, Ryden was suspect number 1. Rydan on the other hand kept the superficial smile, thinking deeply on the inside “he’s rather strong for a human…but even all the training him should not prepare a Human for this….how is he keeping his strength a secret….could he be….” . on the short walk over, both sides kept a straight face, but on the inside, their tension could crush people.

[spoiler=Episode 3, Chapter 4]Episode 3: Meetings/Chapter 4

Visitors Day

A few weeks have passed since Josep’s reintroduction into the school, and things have not gone easier for him. Most people have begun to assume that he has gone ahead and gotten over his friends as he is normally seen with Ryden Ayiodo. Though he wishes he would stop following him. Ryden has attempted to get to know Josep better, even going so far as to get to know Reina as well, but that just gets Josep into more trouble, he can’t walk the halls without being pestered by a Dragon Student…or even a teacher. “What the hell do you think your doing dating a Dragon? Do you want to get yourself killed?” Josep normally doesn’t respond, thus infuriating people more. When they try to attack, Ryden simply grabs their hands and puts them in a sleeper hold. “another one I have to explain to the dean dammit…” is Josep’s normal response, while Ryden simply smiles.

With the various things that have happened, Reina has been more daring with her visits with Josep, going so far as to go into Josep’s room at night and sleep in his bed. You don’t even want to know his response when he wakes up…

But despite his problems with his stalker he had a problem much larger than anything he could possibly conceive, the annual attendance record, normally this would be done by a Noble, but after the incident with Erzor, the Kingdom decided it would be best to investigate the potential of the students with someone more, prestigious… “Damn…..damn damn….” he looked at the clock in his room, It was almost time, very soon the two imperial reps would arrive and inspect all the students, normally this wouldn’t be a problem, but the day before it was announced who would be arriving, 5th princess Jaine Kai de Drago and 2nd prince, Jazeth Sai de Drago.

“Lord Ryuji….” Ryden was also going through quite the considerable amount of stress, though he didn’t show it in any way. “Should we not be concerned that Lord Jazeth and Lady Jaine will discover who I am….I am close to finding the warrior that was on your reports…Lord Jazeth would alert him…” On the other line you can simply hear Ryuji laughing. “Well….I’m not gonna lie Ryden…you’re screwed on all ends….this is totally out of my jurisdiction, and it’s too late, you should have called me earlier….” while not completely audible, his consulate Ayemi Renda could be heard whispering “but…he’s been sending you messages all month Lord Ryuji….” He sounds moderately surprised. “Ah, really? Well, that’s my fault then, sorry about that Ryden…. Heh heh heh.” he was very unconvincing “oh well, if things come to the worse remember the flask …it should totally get you out of it…..or get you killed…either way…” “Lord Ryuji!” Ayemi yelled, obviously not excited with her lords disdain towards his own Knight. “Okay fine…but seriously…” his tone changed ever so slightly “Do your best kid…”

Ryden nodded despite his Lord not being physically present. “Yes…My Lord” after the conversation ended Ryden looked outside, the sun was glowing brightly, a warm glow that reminded him that while he was worried about Prince Jazeth, he was far more worried about the Princess arriving. “Princess….Jaine….” after a few seconds he composed himself and prepared to go to the greet the guests, though of course, he would have to devise a plan by then.

On the other hand Josep was worried about everything, but after slapping himself he thought of how he could get out of this…feigning sick would be bad since all nurses were also preparing for the physical exams, and wearing a mask would just be a bad idea in general. If he decided to not go, again he’d be searched for, Wait! This meant they already had a list with his name on it…yes it would be under the name Zavara, but Jazeth would easily remember his own mother’s maiden name, if he already knew…why isn’t the guard coming for him by now? He looks

To his door, and then to the windows, nothing seems to be crashing through. The bell rings signaling that the event was about to begin, Josep walked slowly to the door, as he opened it he saw a nurse run by, hurried by the Royal guests arrival no doubt, but there was something familiar about her. He shakes the idea off soon enough and looks as the other students leave their rooms as well, adjacent to his own he see Ryden, again with that goofy smile of his. “Howdy neighbor …” he states followed by a friendly wave. “So, these royals always come in so unexpected huh?” Josep nodded and walked down the path that would more than likely be the path to be executed. “You seem a little jumpy Josep…you feeling okay?” he asked concerned, though the horns prevented Josep from answering. He looked at Ryden. “They’re here…”

Ryden wondered, should he actually do something about this? If anything he could find out everything he wants about Josep with his reaction to The Royal Family, but at the same time it would end with Josep’s possible discovery, they walked through the doors and saw quite a large crowd, it would be safest to stand near the back of the room, so as to escape. Ryden had no choice , his mission was in jeopardy if Lord Jazeth saw him, so he raised his flask and prepared to blind the crowd before Jazeth entered, causing the room to panic, frame a terrorist group that doesn’t exist…it would be perfect, but suddenly he felt a swift shot towards his hand. ”what the…how did I miss that?” he had been so focused on his mission’s safety he had been blindsided, though he wasn’t the one suffering…

“Ayyyyyyiiiiiichhiiinnnngaaaaaooooooo!” Josep shouted as the chemical fell all over his face, he wasn’t exactly thrilled with the burning sensation in his eyes, the people around him simply stared. Ryden felt just a little guilty, but he did want to know who did this, was it Ryuji? But he couldn’t sense his aura anywhere, and with so many people he couldn’t tell anyone apart from their auras. A small group of nurses rushed to Josep’s side, not really to help him, but more so to make sure Lord Jazeth doesn’t see how they keep the students in line. The nurse nearest them begins speaking “did you see what happened here” before Rydan could answer the nurse begins pushing him. ”either way, go with him and keep out of sight or Lord Jazeth will have all our heads” No sooner did she say that did Ryden and Josep make their escape, of course Josep kept everyone entertained with his screams.

Once in the infirmary Ryden was overseen by another nurse, and Josep was to be treated by the one that brought him there. “Tell me the truth, will I ever see again?” she laughs as she places a blow dart away in her purse. “yes you will, don’t worry to much the substance used is only a temporary blinding agent…on a normal human it may cause blindness, but as a Dragon…I’m sure you can tough it out…” Josep sighed “does everyone know I’m a Dragon by know?” she laughed again, as if trying to tell him something. “Not everyone, but the resistance sure does” He listens carefully to her voice. “It…can’t be….really? Serina? Oh crap….” She laughs again, “and now the fun begins…just you and me my prince…”
