I love the fact that you posted you've already been to The Design Cubicle, just to preemptively stop me from suggesting you visit it.

It looks solid, although novice. I would really just suggest more practice at this point, you'll get the hang of it. Try to be more picky with your font choices, also, so that the font can completely portray a feeling that fits whatever the logo is for.
