Guess That NES Game! (And Get a Rep!)

I for one, love the NES. The console's games, with their distinctive retro feel, defined the video game industry in the 1980's. It gave us such memorable characters, Mario, Zelda, that annoying dog from Duck Hunt...you know the one. :) Periodically, I will post some hints about an NES game. If you guess the correct game...you get a rep. Then I will move on to the next game.

NOTE: Some bad games came out on the legendary system as well, and they will be included in the mix of games you guess. :)

EXTRA NOTE: If the guesses come to a standstill, I will add a word hint to make the mystery game easier to name. :)

Good Luck.
Let's start off easy...

This videogame was based off a 1984 American science-fiction comedy film.

The game was widely known for having the worst ending screen on the NES (too many spelling mistakes!)

You get to play as the game's logo in the game. (No joke.)

One of the game's final levels has you running up stairs, by rapidly pressing the A Button. Very tiring and boring.
Time for something a little more obscure...

Ninjas kidnap the president in the opening scene of this game.

This game is a 2-D side scrolling beat 'em up in the same vein as Final Fight, Kung Fu or Double Dragon.

This game's unintentional "baditude" has made it a cult classic and everlasting source of hilarity.
Time for a well known game...

"What a Horrible Night to Have a Curse."

Has no enemies in the last level.
This one was a late release (The '90s)

Your character has a life meter which is made of a maximum of 22 hearts.

This game is played from a 2D top-down perspective.

The main character has a likeness similar to that of a popular whip-cracking movie protagonist (who almost bears the same name.)
The game is really obscure, so beware.

Was a Japan-only game.

(It was released in the US, but the characters and items in the game were removed and replaced with things from the Marioverse.)
This was a sports game.

Four offensive plays, four defensive plays. That's it.
Known for its notorious difficulty.

Released in the waning days of the NES.

This game gives the player only three chances to continue after being killed (many other NES games gave unlimited opportunities), and has no password or save feature.

The antagonist is known as the Dark Queen.
Sports game!

Produced by Konami, in 1988. (arcade port)

Eight total teams. (One team = Minnesota)

Released on Virtual Console in 2007.
