It's obvious that I am new to this forum.

But I can't help but notice that there's a handful of people who have nothing better to do than go around and play douche bag to the noobs...just for being new. Allowing this to go on isn't a good way to keep people at the forum.

I can see what their doing and I'm not so stupid to get upset and leave over it but most people would.

I would myself except I know that I'm not as big of a noob as they take me for; I've actually played konami events and done very well...just saying.

But yeah..noob poaching sucks, if you're good to the new members, theres a better chance they will stay and invite more.

Axtually, they may seem harsh, but they're just trying to help you become a succesful member.

Taking a look- oh my assumptions were correct, it's the Your Deck section. Whew, here I was thinking that it was CC, should've known better.

 

Anyway, my advice is to ignore the people in that section. I've tried to do something about it before but apparently sbnate is back and abusing the Jack Witt clause with everyone else in that section. Try talking to Chaos Pudding instead, I'm sure he'd understand.

I did not get critisized when I first joined, so I don't really support, as I don't have reason to believe that high stars criticise low stars for their low post count.

Obviously you don't know your members very well, do you? People in your section use the word 'nooblet' to describe anyone knew who posts a Deck they disapprove of.

 

nooblet has nothing to do with being new, that's a newblet. People who make bad Decks are considered noobs, yes, because it is a description of someone who:

A) Has no idea what they are doing/is an idiot

B) Is generally just a pain and un-needed

 

It might seem offensive to just shout "GET A THEME", but many people's Decks are so far below the standard that people there just don't comprehend the difficulty the poster has with getting enough cards to make a theme. The advice might often be given in a rude manner, but people who follow the advice straight away can often find people willing to help further, bad Decks just have a large hurdle of getting rid of all of the cards that the frequent posters know are not very useful before more civil comments are going to be consistently posted. I still try to maintain a level of polite-ness in that section against newbs, and even noobs, but many people there will either completely skip the rules or just not know the basic points of good Deck building, and don't respond well when they are thrown at them.

Some Legendaries do criticize newer members b/c they act up a bit, but most 5 or 6 stars are okay.

Although they may seem harsh, they're just trying to save you from even harsher criticism from other members

I agree with what most people here are saying, most aren't like that. Most genuinely try to help.

The problem is that some don't. Some are exactly how I described, picking on new members just for being new. I myself have read the rules and try my best to follow them, but you assume that I did something to deserve the flaming when that is simply not true.

This brings me back to my last reply, the reason you assume that is because you have an impression that all new people are going to screw up when that simply isn't the case. Like I said, its that kind of prejudice that leads to the discrimination...which obviously exists because there is other testimony of it all over the website. You can't just turn a blind eye to the misconduct that is occurring.

Report them. I can't be expected to look at each and every thread posted. Oh, but if the person in question broke the rules in the first place, there's nothing I can or will do about it. They deserve every last flame they get, in that case.

No. There is no implication whatsoever. There are two separate classifications: idiots/non-idiots, and newbs/non-newbs. No connection was ever implied between them. At all. You're just so bloody paranoid that everyone is out to get you because lolpostcount that you're seeing connections everywhere.

 

When I said pretty much everyone say stupid things, I never implied that that was in any way focused on new members. When I say "everyone", I mean "everyone", not "everyone who happens to have a similar post count to you, Jonnyfive, because I am out to get you".
