Unless they are characters from recently dead RPs, I think this would fail as well. I mean, if there are RPs from a long time ago, nobody's going to remember what happened in those RPs mainly because nobody has the decency to look over what the RP had accomplished in their stories, especially the creators of said RPs.

 

And mega-crossover? Really, dude? Someone has done that so many times already. Either way, I might not decide to join your RP if you made it. Sorry. Good try, though with your idea.

Villains plot aside any ideas on what a good name for my RP would be because right now I'm thinking of Duelist Carnival which is what the dueling theme park would be called but IDK the name is inspired by what is going on in the anime but if anyone can think up a better name please tell me.

So, while I'm waiting for my laptop to get a new hard drive installed, I've been mulling over a couple ideas for an RP.

 

I'm thinking about a scenario where there are multiple player-owned factions all vying against eachother. The application would encourage multiple characters per player, but only if each character was involved with a different faction- that way, I could near-guaranty interaction for everyone right off the bat.

 

I'm still playing fast and loose with the plot, but the general idea is that the world is drifting towards Armageddon quite rapidly, and it's up to people called Holders to decide how the new world will be built- but of course, not all the Holders agree. Multiple holders form Reasons, which are general philosophies that they believe the next world should be born according to; the goal of each Reason is to destroy every other opposing Reason before the Armageddon commences, and thus dictate how the new world will be born.

 

Though Holders have their own special abilities, the real power lies in Fiends- who are a different set of people. Fiends can't form Reasons or affect the New World in any way, but they ally with Holders that they agree with, and are a great deal more powerful than other people- therefore, a good grouping has a mix of the two.

 

The basic idea is to encourage scheming between the groups and intellectual games combined with the usual 'super powered people fighting'. Perhaps even a little philosophical debate if we're lucky. Since people will probably have multiple characters across the various Reasons, they won't be as tempted to powergame, since they can 'win' no matter which group comes out successfully.

Hmm that seems a bit complex and I don't know if you'll be able to get enough good RPers together for it to work, I'd imagine you'd need at least 5 for it to work but I've probably only seen 12 people on this site up to the task and most are already in RPs so they might not have the time.

What I'm trying to say is your idea might be to good for us to RP.

 

 

For my RP would it be good if the main bad guy is trying to bring back someone they love using the energy from the people in the RP and if he does that terrible terrible things will happen, or maybe he just wants to summon some ancient evil so he can be a dick or something can I get some help here pretty please with a mountain of dead smirfs on top.

Are you trying to say that good Rpers are unable to multitask and perform in multiple roleplays?

 

Also, there are several levels of roleplayer. Millions, probably. You shouldn't count the whole site out because you can only see one or two people who you think would be worthy. People improve and hone their skills over time. And a 'bad' rper would hardly be accepted into an rp of the sort anyway. Hmmn.

Since Hydra's RP idea sounds epic, I don't really have much to comment on other than I quite like how it's formation - that of the Holders being the Reasons and Fiends backing up their prefered Reason - is similar to that of general politics in the real world. Almost sounds like we'd start derailing into politics in a fantasy world, and I like that option :P

Tbh, the main bad guy of the RP seems somewhat cliched. His reasons for being a dick seem a bit flat. Bring back who? Why? Why would this send the world derailing into chaos? Unless the aim of this guy is to mess with the minds of all living beings when he brings back his precious wife, it seems useless. That sort of thing would hardly mess with the world on a large scale. Moreso the scale of personal intrests and family involved.

 

The ancient evil option would need fleshing out also, if you were to choose it as the motive of your guy. What is this ancient evil? Why does this guy need it? What would come from him summoning it?

Also, summoning ancient badass things to be a dick isn't a good reason. If that's his reason, he isn't fit to be a main bad guy in a roleplay where a single post can kick his sorry butt.

 

Of course, since I hate YuGiOh roleplays as a whole, and any RP with only one main badguy (hypocritical, i know)...

I'm asking for help with the villain because I can't think of anything that isn't cliched, also the reason bringing someone back is so bed is that they won't come back alone a huge number of souls will come back with them and souls without a body tend to cause trouble and I'm not talking ghost busters trouble I'm talking something more supernatural season 5.

So Opal has several ideas in mind:

 

- that music RP that apparently sounds so terribad that everyone keeps ignoring it :/ ...or something like that. It's hard to exlain the concept before it gets posted, but it focusses a lot on character development and choices. You can actually get quite creative, even though it doesn't have monsters and apocalypses and whatnot.>.>

 

- The Curse/Bloom of the Deadly Nightshade (title not set yet, and I mean the plant). A murder mystery RP (loosely based on Higurashi and Umineko no Naku Koro ni) with different arcs and new characters or events that get introduced on the way. Since it's not a fanfic, there aren't any real clues or solutions, but it's mostly to give room for character development and bring out different versions of a story. I'm planning though, I'm planning. :D

 

- I could also combine the 2 and set up a murder mystery RP in the music industry, but I'm not sure yet.

Not starcraft, maybe megaman, if you have original, X, Zero, and Zx as the times then you could do something or if you just want 2 time periods you could do battle network and star force but someone already has a battle network one up. Or maybe you can do a Doctor Who Yu-Gi-Oh! cross though that might be an unholy abomination, I might have said Saint Seiya but they already have a time one out now.

To be honest, I'd die (in a good way) if there was a Mystery RP. Interactive mysteries are some of the best roleplayable stories out there, but they've been sadly lacking in this section... probably because they need significant skill to pull off well in the first place.

How would anybody like to have an RP about the CIA. I originally thought of this to be a Fan Fic, but I knew that might not work. However, as an RP, things don't have to go the way I want it to. Here's the story:

 

In 1982, a new unit consisting of at least 6 CIA members, 9 at the most if necessary, called the Unknown Adversaries Investigation Unit (UAIU for short) was created. As time went on, certain people chosen especially for this job have taken down many perpetrators that have the same kind of identity as Jack the Ripper: no identity. They are found and taken down by the very last identity they were known as, which could easily just be their only identity. Some culprits may have multiple identities because their minds have been corrupted. For the last 29 years, there has been a total of 10 cases solved already.

 

However, for the new year of 2012, things have begun to get strange. Jason Mass, the leader of the unit since he was 18, around the same time in which the unit first began, has gotten a strange letter on the same day of his eleventh case. All that is known is that he cannot talk about the contents to anyone or else his team dies. Now, his mind is filled with certain things that might be able to solve a few cases. Now is time to test the minds of his teammates. A test in which leads to the matter of life and death. And once death starts, it will continue until the source is found. Pray that these cases will lead to the answer as to why this is happening.

 

Anybody got a name for this that would work? UAIU doesn't exactly sound good. Maybe I'll just use the full name. What do you think?

I've been reading up on Saint Seiya and kinda want to do an RP with that but I don't know how many people would be into it.

Well, I mostly want people to have fun and be creative in that kind of RP, so I'm looking for a not too fancy plot (or else it might as well be a fanfic).

The rural village with murders sounds good, but that'd be Higurashi.

I might just go with the music industry or with a city or something like that. (But I'm not too keen on the music industry, since I already wanted to post a RP with that setting.)

 

So just as a broad outline:

There's an old, [insert generic century here] hotel in a kind of pittoresque city where time seems to have stopped (to some extent). People mostly grow their own stuff and seem to live apart of "the" Japanese "society" nowadays. Different kinds of characters check in for different reasons (some because of a storm or something like that, others because they were looking for something) and people start dying. The hotel is haunted by mythological beings (similar to youkai, but mostly made-up beings) who may or may not have a relation to the people. Since it's a RP with many arcs, there will be different versions of the story with different characters being the centre of it.

 

But of course it's going to be more complex than that, this is just a sample.

 

OR:

A new record company settled down somewhere and people soon start to apply to become trainees. However, when the first success comes up, artists and members of the staff start dying. Again, different scenarios so that everyone can bring up potential motives.

 

A school would have been good too since people go there almost everyday, but 07th Expansion already started a visual novel with the topic.;_;

I thought about a funfair or a hospital, but eh...there would be other people around and it should be kind of a framed field :/ (though with a funfair, it would be fun to let games come alive).

 

If anyone has input to offer on one of the ideas, or anything else s/he'd like to see, I'm a taker.

I was thinking in the future and ya new knights obviously, the idea I had was that all the gods are fighting over control of the earth seeing as Athena has lead them to the point where most humans don't believe in the gods so Zeus decides that instead of the gods fighting and possibly killing each other they will have humans fight for them instead, how it will work is a god can lose in one of two ways either all their warriors are killed or some condition is met in Athena's case it is someone going through the 12 temples of the gold saints and reaching her statue for other gods it would be other things, if people feel it is to different from the source material I might change this or have the RP be a reboot where this happens every 300 years.

Here's the pitch for my time-traveling Pokemon RP.

 

Something has happened.

An unknown event has created various alterations to the normal flow of time. The outcomes of some events have changed. Pokemon are appearing in regions and time they shouldn't be in. And a mysterious group called "Team Infinite" seems to be ensuring that the newly-revised timeline stays the way it is, somehow benefiting from the eventual outcome.

To correct this, the various copies of Celebi throughout time have gathered together Trainers from across the timeline to fix the natural flow of time before the changes become permanent, and to solve the mystery of what caused the problem in the first place...

 

Basically, 1-3 groups of 3-5 Trainers each will be traveling to different places in different times and fixing what is going on by interfering with events (from the game or the anime, I'm not sure of yet). I also need a dating system.

Any thoughts?

Plus, there would be different roles that are allowed to one character each. It would be First Come, First Served as usual, since I don't want to hear complaining from anyone who didn't get to apply.

 

Basically, my story is like a mix of certain elements of CSI, Criminal Minds, NCIS, and Blue Bloods (I think it's called that. Can't be sure, though.), just with the CIA. Every episode is different, and how long that they take will depend on what I can think about. Now, Cinnamon (Or Opal.), would you like to be my Co-Host for it? If not, I understand.

Do you have an idea on the god/gods you want to focus on? Because every Saint Seiya series had one god in the spotlight (Poseidon, Asgard gods, Hades for the original, Titans for Episode G I think), so you could use someone in Greek mythology who hasn't come up yet.

I figured we'd stick with the Athena saints as the lead but I also planned to have people for Ares, Hephaestus, Artemis, and Maybe Zeus.One thing I will say is that the Gold Saints would be staying in Sanctuary so if your going to use them they'd be defensive, I'm thinking of having it take place in 2012 so all the people from the original are older and gold saints and a new generation of Bronze Saints would be the focus.
