Here is my Digimon RP plot, first draft.

-

Long ago, when the Digital World was young, the Digimon who lived there were plagued by a virus, one that caused a worldwide pandemic. This virus took control of many powerful Digimon, and through them, the virus infected the Tree of Life, and ruled the Digital World. However, a group of young, but brave Digimon decided to eradicate the virus and release the Digital World from its control. They succeeded in defeating the virus, but realized too late that the Digital World was on the verge of collapse, and there was nothing that could be done about it.

Just when all hope was lost, one of the young Digimon realized what could be done to save the Digimon. He fused himself with the infected Tree of Life, and forced a complete reset of the Digital World, destroying the virus and its corruption once and for all. His friends awoke to find themselves in a beautiful new Digital World, and at that moment, realized what their friend had done. In his honor, the group decided to protect the reformatted Digital World and make sure their friend’s sacrifice was not in vain, and called themselves from then on, the Royal Knights.

The Digital World was in an era of peace, until Dorbickmon appeared. Dorbickmon was in every sense of the word, a monster, infamously causing chaos wherever he went; his widespread chaos came to an end when he arrived in the Dragon Kingdom. Examon, Royal Knight and king of the Dragon Kingdom, had no choice but to fight of Dorbickmon, despite the incredible strength of the former, Examon was bested. Dorbickmon took control of the Dragon Kingdom, and infected the previous ruler with a virus that placed the Royal Knight under his control.

This event marked the end of Dorbickmon’s widespread chaos, and the beginning of one of the darkest times in Digimon history. The Royal Knights, whose morale had been scarred by Examon’s corruption, decided that they were in no state to save the Digital World, and instead, decided that outside help is necessary if the Digital World is to be saved once more.

And so, the Royal Knights appeared in the dreams of ten separate children, teleporting them to the Digital World as they slept. These children are the only ones who can stop the tyrant Dorbickmon, and save the Digital World from certain damnation.

I had a thought, out of the blue.

Two academies (Not YuGiOh, I assure you. Or any dueling franchise for that matter). Rather, they are academies that teach elemental magics, teaching students from all over the world. One academy is "good", the other "bad". The bad academy dislikes the other, due to an old rivalry between the two principles, along with often being "shown-up", per se, by the meaner ones of the "good" academy.

A battle is fought. You are from one of the two academies (maybe both if you wish to multi-app), and must fight.

And most of you will NOT be new students.

Did I mention that?

It was an out of the blue idea.

And the reason I made the comment on new students is because usually RPs of this sort have students beginning for the first time, and overcoming a great threat. This happens alot (To my strange mind) that I figure it a cliche. Cliches are there to be twisted. :D

lolsure

However, I still need to work on things, as I have yet to decide on what elements will be in play.

Its more than likely the 4 main elements of Fire, Earth, Air and Water will be used, but if anyone thinks I should have more, like Light, Darkness etc, tell me.

I'm still ironing out the other fine details too. All I know is that;

WERE DOING THIS BRO

WERE MAKING THIS HAPPEN - *shot*

I have to agree, depsite it being my idea.

Mainly, the badness and goodness of the schools is centered on their principals. One is just downright evil, in a sense, and the other is one of those angelic sort. If deranged.

However, neither school is really bad or good. It all depends on how the students decide to act, and how they respond to the other schools antics, once introduced.

The two academies cross wands often, mostly in the form of "friendly" competition, where friends and enemies can be made.

But the "bad" academy AREN'T the bad guys. The two schools may have a rivalry, but at a point I'll introduce a group that ALSO practices elemental magics, but consider themselves the best. They intend to destroy the two academies, in order to be announced as the best (because these two academies are 2 of the few remaining magical schools, since most have been shut down by this group. That, and these two are better)

I had an idea too, not sure if I will be able to execute it though since I'm not very active here anymore, but I figured I would at least see if anyone would be interested.

Eons ago, before the Big Bang, there was only a maelstrom of chaos and elements. Eventually, this maelstrom gave birth to nine deities, each one representing one of the elements dwelling inside the vortex. Earth, Wind, Fire, Water, Ice, Steel, Wood, Lightning, Light and Darkness (know that Light and Darkness were one at this time)

The nine lived in peace, and used their powers to create five worlds out of the elements that they held. Earth, Yggdrasil, Abydoss, Atlantis and Nirvana were all created by their combined powers. Eventually they populated these worlds with other living beings, and watched over them. Soon, civilizations grew on the five worlds, and with them evil in the shape of villains who sought to rule the worlds. To counter this, the nine created a group of peacekeepers, called the Realmjumpers, who are able to move freely between the five worlds and vanquish the evil. Each Realmjumper holds one or more rings that hold one of the nine elements, giving them access to the powers within.

However, unfortunate events were to unfold when the rings holding Light and Darkness started to malfunction, and so did the deity. The two conflicting powers could not be held together, and the rings were destroyed and the deity eventually died, but in its place two new were born.

The Twin Dragons of Twilight, Lumina and Umbrasos, were the new masters of Light and Darkness. But like their elements they did not get along, and eventually a war started that lead to the banishment of both of them. The few Light rings and Darkness rings that existed was lost and the two were no longer considered official Realmjumper elements.

As time moved on the Realmjumpers became less and less needed, and eventually the title was only seen as a vanity. That was when the remaining eight decided to start the Trial of Elements, a game that would pit Realmjumpers against eachother with their rings at stake, where the winner would get one of the losers ring. The Trail takes place once every thousand years, and now approaches the time for the fourth one. Will you be up to the challenge?

There's still some polishing to be done. Feel free to comment.

Well, Lunar, if you want two academies divided by principalities, why not make them something along the lines of Chaos and Order rather than "good" and "evil". As Chaos and Order are not specifically aligned with any morality(despite people's usual ideas) this allows for a much greater flexibility with the play style rather than having everyone on one side evil and everyone on the other good. I would also suggest a faction that is attempting to facilitate or elevate the conflict.

@Lunar Eclipse: I dunno, I still think that lends itself too much to making there an obvious 'good' side and 'bad' side... unless of course, the "evil" academy is itself Disgaea-style evil, in which the concept would be hilarious enough to work. Ketodama might be hitting it better by making the divide more Chaos and Order based, though I really think you should stress that both academies are good in their own way, just different. I would not, however, suggest a neutral side; let the two work it out in a trial by fire rather than by structured negotiations, it tends to lend itself better to stories that way.

@Aesirson: The main problem I see here is that you have a long and complex backstory here that does very little to justify the rather cliche tournament-for-McGuffin plot of the actual roleplay. We've got an expansive explanations about deities and dimension-jumping heroes that fight evil, a reasonably unique source of power and possible plot expansion in the way of two banished gods, so why would we be interested in a random tournament that you added to the plot with half a paragraph? Seems like a waste of potential, is all I'm saying.

@Guy With Complex Name Too Difficult For Me to Bother With: I dunno what I think, a one-sentence description of the idea doesn't tell me much about your RP. I guess it sounds reasonably unique, a sort of norse-flavored God of War in a group.

Oh yea

Chaos and Order probably would work best for the two schools.

@Hydra

Disgaea? wut?

The general idea I had for the neutral team was that they were trying to elevate chaos between the two schools- make the rivalry a bit stronger, whether by playing pranks, messing things up or whatever. The two schools would then start battling it out.

And the neutral team sits back and watches.

And possibly, later in the RP, someone (somehow) could work out what went wrong.

And the two schools would have to make amends.

And fight the neutral team.

Essentially, they are trying to elevate conflict, as Keto suggested.

But I don't need to have a neutral side- What best suits the public is what I'll do.

Sounds good on paper. But the issue that the spirit-human union though ZEXAL power would require both players to agree on each action there fused character does. If one goes AFK, theres an serious issue right there. Also, what if they cannot come to agreement? Im not saying that the idea is bad, but sorting out how character control would work will be an serious topic.

Another one of my "dime-a-dozen" ideas. :)

How about an RP about our DC dragons? When you obtain an egg, you post like so. When your dragon grows up, you post your reaction. When the dragon matures, you can have a battle with them, ETC.

I could come up with a plot for that theme, but I'm too tired.

GUIZE:

Elfen Lied RP. Takes place about 20 years after the anime. The virus has made a come back, albeit a small one. Takes place in Japan. Since the new-ish outbreak isn't fully realized yet and the threat that opposes the Diclonius is pretty much gone due to the organization disbanding, the Diclonius will have an easy time running amok.

Oh, and characters will die left and right. Such is life.
