Hydra of Ages
... Dude! WHAT are you on?! You know you love it. I'm contemplating whether certain Funk-styles of dressing will grant demons specific bonuses. For example, perhaps a giant Afro would grant them increased effectiveness, but make it really easy to throw them off their groove- a massive hairstyle is a giant target, after all. Jake the Sage
LOL Hydra that is a very out there idea but if you can pull it off it'll be the FIRST Funky Disco RP I've EVER seen on YCMaker XD *does the point -n- shuffle* 8D

The Funk is with me, after all. So, were I to make this RP, what do you guys think would be the most important elements to make it actually fun? Should I make it mandatory to play as a Demonic Dancer, or should playing a DJ be an option as well?
Jake the Sage
*brofists Hydra* May the funk never leave you my friend (-u-) Oooh! Attacks could be actual AMVs from youtube . . . the better they are the stronger the attack/defense it is And what position did the DJ play again? Frybread002
What ARE YOU ON Fiendish Dr. Hydra!?!?! That my Doctor, is a VER GOOD IDEA!!! Go with it!!Although TFF, I know how you feel by attachments, and in all honesty, I've never actually done or seen one of your RPs, so I'm just going off of what people are saying. Because I'm actually doing the same thing here actually (hehehehe...) But if anything, as a friend, I'm really expecting something good from you honestly. So, if you need the help, I'll help out as much as I can (but you obvisouly know I'm backe up as you know). Oh!! Why not have the Demons have a DJ battle!! Premier Alexander Romanov
Which is why I am thinking of either finding a new site for Itsu to continue her adventures on or just putting her on the back burner for a while, like I tried to do.You know, I'm going to take the Neversphere idea and modify it. Drastically.
Hydra of Ages
*brofists Hydra* May the funk never leave you my friend (-u-) Oooh! Attacks could be actual AMVs from youtube . . . the better they are the stronger the attack/defense it is And what position did the DJ play again? *brofists back* Having attacks be AMVs would be a little... off, I think. Wouldn't really fit the spirit of the RP. But flowery descriptions of the dances would, of course, be encouraged. I think it'll work like this- during your post, you'd detail how your character envisions and tries to pull off the dance, and the GM post following will tell you how it ACTUALLY turned out, and the outcome of the turn of the battle. You could try and do the most awesome Moonwalk you can imagine, but if it doesn't go properly, you may as well be tripping all over the stage. In addition, tripping all over the stage is also an appropriate battle style. We call it Breakdance. Characters should probably choose dance styles... we could have the Breakdancers, who are pure muscle tanks that turn attacks back on their opponent and block the more style-based members of their troupe from being beaten around. The Acrobats, who focus on flashy freestyle, and Pogo Dancers, who give up effectiveness in exchange for being incredibly mobile. The Moonwalkers soak up all sorts of enemy special moves, and the Disco Traditionalists pull off all of those special terrain-based moves. The DJ is basically the troupe's support net; their music selections can help or hinder the dancers, and through clever uses of the track, they can cover up the flaws of their allies and open weaknesses in their enemies. In RPG terms, they're the White Mage type of deal, except their effects are a lot broader and more effective than most healing classes. Notably, two DJs on opposite sides get into Disc Jockey Duels in order to gain control of the dancefloor rather than out-dancing their foes like most demons. evilfusion
I'm torn between thinking that the idea would be incredibly amusing and fun, or incredibly stupid and the only appeal is how disturbingly random the whole ordeal is (original too, but that's not at the forefront of my mind). Seriously, how do you come up with things like that?
Jake the Sage
evilfusion the answer to how we come up with such out there is simple . . . we're just plain insane like that. Well . . . Hydra of Ages
I'm torn between thinking that the idea would be incredibly amusing and fun, or incredibly stupid and the only appeal is how disturbingly random the whole ordeal is (original too, but that's not at the forefront of my mind). Seriously, how do you come up with things like that? Tch, it's simple to make a seemingly stupid idea not-random. All you need to do is make sure the stupid logic is consistent stupid logic; a world that takes itself seriously, even if completely nonsensical, will eventually drive the audience to also take it seriously. It's really not hard. All you have to do is get rid of that little voice next to your consciousness that tells you "No, that's stupid".Or maybe I'm just a Cloudcuckoolander, who knows? As for the logic on how this would come about, think about it. Demons have always been known to seduce mortals through song and dance; 'Playing the Devil's Flute' was a well-known idiom in the medieval ages that refereed to luring others to a darker path. As humanity advances, demonkind have to keep up if they want to continue to draw souls- but, of course, they ARE immortal beings. They can't bother to change their entire infrastructure every time Earth culture switches up, so they instead just check in every hundred years or so to see what's up. This time, they checked up in the 70s. Disco was an amazing fad that spread just about everywhere. Music was getting recognition it hadn't for hundreds of years, and dance even more so. To Demonkind, it's the equivalent of a buffet- exuding natural charisma, luring people to follow their own beat and showing off is what they do. If disco was popular in the human worlds, that's nothing compared to the appeal it held for demons- after all, they're malicious and vengeful, but killing eachother is an excellent way to get higher up's displeasure at thinning out their armies. Hence, non-violent combat... in which the loser becomes, in essence, a thrall to the winner, granting them more power and the opportunity to one day overthrow a more powerful enemy. Plus, Disco is just cool; Demons appreciate that kind of thing, and are ever-so-willing to jump on the bandwagon of someone stronger than them. If, say, Lucifer was seen listening to a Bee Gees Album, that could impact their society quite deeply- and quickly.
Frybread002
Man...You really are Fiendish, Doctor Hydra...Maybe my nickname wasn't in vain afterall... Just so I won't get in trouble or something, might as well make a post!! Ah man, after working on this for 8 months, 4 pals of mine are working on a Kingdom Hearts role-play, and one of us said "Why not a KeybladeWar!?" YRPOtaku169 said in a cheerful kid voice. Of course, the rest of us quickly frowned at him, and sent him away to his corner called "Kah-Ledge." No? Not funny? Alright, sorry... With that in mind, after the idea of a KeybladeWar was suggested, it has been used waay too many times before in the Role-play fourms, and just before we make a mistake, and actually use it for a plot. Does anybody think a Keyblade War is too cliche'?

Does anybody think a Keyblade War is too cliche'? Perhaps a tad. I generally like KH Rps that focus more on the Heartless than the Keyblades; for some reason, I think it draws out a bit more creativity, since we really don't know all that much about (natural) heartless in the first place. Hydra of Ages
It is fair. And I gave an answer. Are Keyblade War Plots getting old? Yes. Hence the 'perhaps a tad', response.

fenrir
Hydra, I approve of your RP completely. Especially if DJs are a type of 'class'. My only concern is... Some of these (specifically Moonwalkers) are pretty low in their choices in terms of moves. Fair enough- they were literally things off the top of my head. I'm sure I could think of some better sorts of 'classes'. More than likely I'd just offer the choice between DJ and Dancer- and dancers can choose their own specialties through stat distribution, which Groove Perks they take and what special moves they use. I'm thinking of two 'main' stats- Funk and Groove. Funk influences the damage you can deal, the amount of damage you can absorb, and how powerful your special techniques can be. Groove, on the other hand, influences the amount of health you have, the strength of your basic dance moves, your speed and the like.

VGVentus
I've probably failed in making successful RPs because I use not very often heard of franchises as the base... ...So that's why my new idea... ...Is a Medarot/Medabot RP...
