Premier Alexander Romanov
Yeah, frybread, this is a discussion thread.I can shortpost as much as I want...to a degree...The post programming will only accept a minimum amount of characters, which is 3 for anyone that wanted to know. Hydra of Ages
Hmm... I'm gunna have to go with the original-themed one, considering I haven't seen Air Gear yet, Rinne.
Frybread002
Oh sure, ansewer Rinne's discussion, but agreeing with the Fiendish Dr. Hydra here, I too would agree on a original theme manga. Although it may be a little hard to do, depending on the genre it'd be in. Like if you're doing an fantasy themed RP that's based off of your own planning, then it may take a little more effort to explain some things. But it depends on the genre, and getting back to my post here, does anyone care to help me on a RP based on the Battle Royal manga?!?!?! bury the year
Alright. Now that an original RP seems to be the preferred option, two more selections. First one is an Earth-like setting with a fantasy bent, and involves empathic weapons. Second is a mecha RP set in modern-day Earth. Pick your poison. :
Premier Alexander Romanov
Could we mix the poisons together and get a steampunk-esque super-poison?No one does steampunk around here...
Hydra of Ages
I'm more of a fantasy-bent fellow than a giant mecha person myself, so that's my vote. Though as Final Fan mentions, Steampunk IS a rare beast in these parts... As for Fry, sorry, can't help. Never read Battle Royal, and I've actually heard it was rather mediocre. Premier Alexander Romanov
That would be intriguing, considering that most steampunk takes place in Europe, usually Victorian Britain.Combining the Japanese reintroduction into the world with steampunk elements, and the Japanese ability to imitate and adapt to technology, and we could have a very cool RP, expanding and pushing the limits of the genre.I'm in. Spirit of DMG
So, um, anyway, I have a few ideas for RP's, and gave each of them a shot, but, they all kinda died on me.
A group of Rogue Duelists have been searching for a book of spells that originated in Egypt, rumored to contain a spell that makes images become real. Meaning that if they got their hands on it, they could use it to make real monsters, spells, and traps. This group calls themselves "The Mystics." An opposing group known only as "The Field" has been using guerrilla tactics to stop them. No one knows where the book is, but The Fields reasons for wanting it are unknown (I know what they are, of course, and I'll pm it to you if you want to join them.)The Field's version of the Earthbound Immortals are called "Field Keepers" Which act like Earthbound Immortals, but can be attacked, damage calculation is applied normally, can only be summoned if a certain field spell is on the field, and only be destroyed if attacked when that field spell is not on the field. The Mystics' version is called "Immortal Spell User" Which work in a Rank. Low-level Mystic members, who go into the field to conduct searches, use Synchros of them. Mid-Ring members, who act as messengers and immediate over-seers, use Dark Synchro Immortal Spell Users. The Inner-Ring which coordinates the searches for the book, and report directly to the High Mystic (their leader) is allowed to use Synchro, Dark Synchro, and Anti-Synchro Immortal Mystics. Â
On the 21st of December, 2012, a Near-Perfect Apocalypse struck the Earth. Very few beings survived. The year is now 3012. After 1000 years, the Human Race is still struggling with the Post-Apocalyptic world left by what is known as "the Day of Death." Now two people are trying to restore peace to the world. Their names are Teishi and Karashi. They are known, however, by the names "White Witch" (Teishi) and "Black Demon King" (Karashi.) Â
Deep in a dark forest on an uncharted island lie six small villages, each with its own elemental attribute: Water, Fire, Earth, Air, Light, and Dark. Each member of each village is able to use their element to form weapons, which vary depending on the wielders personality. One night, a war breaks out between the Village of Light, and the Village of Dark. The Villages of Water and Fire join sides with Dark, and Air and Earth join Light. Â Â So, can anyone think of ways to make these work?
Jake the Sage
The middle one, After Apocolypse sounds generic . . . however it does sound like it has potential. I would say hammer out the details and get detailed with it and you might have something there. However, in my own personal opinion by the way the names sound, you should make both sides clearly evil. Not one good and the other evil- that is too cliche
Hydra of Ages
Evil vs. Evil has always been incredibly lulzy-awesome to me. As for Rinne... hm, Japanese Steampunk has some merit. I DO like exploding different types of settings, and that does seem rather awesome...
Frybread002
*Sigh* My ideas/concerns are usually ignored.....*sigh* I wonder if this is how my ancestors felt like.....*sigh* Back to Rinne's discussion here; just add Native Americans, and Free Running/Parkour, and you'll all set!!! Heheheheh.... Well this here is my last attempt, but is anyone here intenrnested on helping me make a Battle Royal RP? And to back up my claim here, I'm just gonna post a link the wikipedia about the plot. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_Royale
Hydra of Ages
Sorry Fry, don't feel comfortable working with RPs of things I don't personally know about. That said, I think I'm going to make an RP (yeah, I know I've said that before and never did. Eh). I've got two separate ideas, and am wondering which one to go with. First is a Digimon RP, which works off a rather complex system developed by me and... I think Blackstone. It was going to be a Co-RP, but it fell through because neither of us had the time. Anyway, I was thinking of resurrecting the idea; Basically, the main gimmick is that there's no digivolving, for a particular reason. Digimon are instead changed into 'Meta' Digimon, who absorb data in the form of chips that they equip to themselves to change their shape and power. It's rather in-depth, though I'd have to trawl my PMs for all the details. Second one is a more recent idea having to do with Pokemon. Basically, the idea is that the Hall of Origin was destroyed and the Azure Flute destroyed, which cuts off Arceus' and the rest of the legend's power. Forced to make quick descisions, Arceus uses the last vestiges of his control to force the Unown to construct new bodies for himself and the other Legends... in the shape of Humans, as it turns out, as they didn't have enough power for anything else. Anyway, the humanized legends become trainers. They are capable of communicating with Pokemon, and some of those that are loyal to them come to them rather than be captured. The Legends then scower the lands, trying to look for clues on the theif who stole the Azure Flute and regain their powers. Either sound appealing? Any comments? Premier Alexander Romanov
I would love to hear more about the co-RP. The Pokemon RP, though, sounds a bit..off...like something's missing. I can't put my finger on it.
Crystal Remnants
The digimon RP sounds great! I've actually been thinking of making one like that. Digivolving limits you pretty much. My idea was gotten after I played a digimon game that involved getting certain types of data from defeating certain types of digimon. Basically, and I forget how exactly, I had something about "cards" or "chips" relating to the data and having the digimon develop based on the certain types of data, and something to do with the chips or cards (once again, I have NO idea how chips and cards came into my head). Pokemon one sounds meh-ish. But I've been known to be picky in life. Anyways, I've been thinking about making a digimon RP, but you sorta sound like you've been reading my mind. If I made one, it probably wouldn't go anywhere, even if it had the same basic idea as yours. Which it would, not that I would copy, but becuz of... well, coincidence I guess. Also, has anyone made a megaman RP before? I know megaman is a 1 player game, but I was thinking of doing a megaman RP, but it wouldn't be based around the ACTUAL megaman, allowing for more people and less worry about who gets to be megaman or bass or something. Blackstone Dresden
Blaze, PM me again if you still wanna do that co-RP, but I'd prefer if we waited for a little bit so I could make it the Digimon Tamer Union's club RP after the current one finishes up. Remnants, maybe set your RP in the time between MegaMan Battle Network and MegaMan Star Force so Lan will be too old and (Star Force guy) won't even be born yet, or are you talking about doing an RP based on one of the older franchises (Classic, X/Zero/That thing with the mask things)? Crystal Remnants
woah... if you guys are gonna make that RP, can you try and PM me about it? Like, maybe when you're about to post it or something? IDK, but I don't wanna try to compete (cuz I will lose) against your RP with mine if you plan to post yours, especially since our ideas might seem a little-too similar. And if you make it digimon tamer's union rp, then I guess I'll have to join that too.
Premier Alexander Romanov
Well, you could do something along the lines of .EXE or something. And would you have to make it a club RP?
Hydra of Ages
Meh, alright Blackstone, but could we just make it 'sponsored' by the club? I dislike club-exclusive RPs on principal, eh, they just seem a bit... off. Meh, the pokemon idea probably needs polish. The main idea's good, but in practice it probably wouldn't amount to much more than an average RP. I'll think up a gimmick or a draw or something. Blackstone Dresden
TFF: I'm the Grand Duke of RPs in a Digimon-based club, what do you think? Blaze: The current club RP is only club sponsored, so my club RP (When the current one finishes up) is gonna be the same way

Hydra of Ages
Blaze: The current club RP is only club sponsored' date=' so my club RP (When the current one finishes up) is gonna be the same way[/quote'] Fair enough. I don't have a problem with sponsors. Anyway, how long do you think your current RP's gunna last? I don't mind waiting a little bit, since I need to recover all our information from the PMs, but it'd be annoying if we needed to stall for a month. Blackstone Dresden
Well, I'd prefer to get it all planned out and saved in a Word document then when I'm outta school we post the OOC thread and give it two weeks after that and if the club RP is still up and running, we'll make it just another Digimon RPÂ TFF: Mine and Blaze's Co-RP
Ghost-O
DeathFamineWarPestilence These are the four horsemen of the apocalypse, and they have banded together to forever disable the immortals of Greek Mythology. They have wrought chaos and are slowly destroying everything that has come into existence. The three great nations of Heracles, Athens, and Olympia are at war, while the citizens of these places suffer and die. The ordinary ones anyway. While Death leads the pack of Horsemen, heroes are gathering from around the world to first put the gods at ease, and finally remove power from the fatal four. Their meeting place: three hundred thousand feet below the surface, Rome. One man stands before them to lead the fight to victory, ad all that is just; yet, his identity is not fully known. Though the gods and horsemen seem to play the biggest role, they are not alone. The Elder Golems, bound to the shadows for eternity, have awaken to the chaos, and are the only beings able to find the key to conquering a god, and defeating Death. [/plot] Thoughts?
