Hydra of Ages Posted December 27, 2011 Report Share Posted December 27, 2011 I'm afraid I have to admit that 90% of my RPs are just a setting I meticulously created, then stapled a plot I thought up in five seconds to. @Aesirson Firstly, why exactly would merging the dimensions cause mass death? I'm assuming a large number of people would still survive given that the first dimension is doing it to avert utter devastation. Secondly... why are the Signers involved at all? It sounds like an interesting concept involving Psychic Duelists, so why add Signers onto that if they're not part of the main conflict? Now, I just watched the Hangover, and it got me thinking about In Media Res storytelling, especially when used outside of a meta-context. I was wondering if there was any interest in an RP where I take a more GM-style approach; put the characters in a strange circumstance, and have them work their ways backwards through the plot. The reason that it would cause mass death is that if the Interdimensional duelists succeeded they would do tha same thing to our dimension as they did to their, and those without powers would be their slaves. The Signers are involved because they shut down the Arcadia Movement, which is the reason our dimension's Psychics are kind of unfriendly. Even if it was a long time ago, they still hate the Signers. Besides, the Signers are born as heroes, and the Crimson Dragon would obviously try to stop the fusion, which would result in the Signers being involved. Barian Warlord Posted December 27, 2011 Report Share Posted December 27, 2011 It might be good to have it take place after Zexal that way Xyz monsters would be common and generic Numbers could exist, and by a generic number I mean something like Leviath Dragon instead of Number 17: Leviath Dragon, or the name I like to use for Utopia Aspiring Emperor Utopia don't know why I just like that name. But I agree that the signers seem a little forced and without psychic powers how useful would they be over a psychic duelist with a signer dragon because if you think about it I doubt those things are going to be buried with them after a signer dies someone else will get the card. Unless one of the Signers happens to be a psychic duelist.At which point the whole group cmes into play. Thing is, you don't neccesarily need three teams to make an RP three-sided.Seriously. Afterall, theres us, theres them, and those millions of innocent people.Most wouldn't be psychic, but they still might want to defend their home in their own way. Or they might agree.Or just have nefarious plans that involve both sides, essentially making a third group with buisness.At which point, the RP might start with two set 'teams', but could end up with several. RPG's are generally my area of expertise...Or rather to put it more simpler; I like RPG's better. Hmm, sounds like my mind was made up already. >.> Now, I've made a couple that ended up, with every single one of them, abandoned (Lost interest and other reasons I won't list). Anyway, I've always noticed that when you take a look at my previous RPG's they have a tremendous amount of detail (Well, not that much. I'm just over-exaggerating it a bit) that I need to continuously keep track of (Stats and whatnot). So, I got to thinking -- I'll probably need a Co-host for this one. Anyone interested? Perhaps we can use the plot of my character from some of your Naruto RPGs (Perhaps you remember some of it.). It can be a basis on the story of my character, who is one of the main characters (The second main lead, to be exact.) and it can affect the plot. And there could be a saga mainly revolving around my character's story. Does anyone want me to explain my character's story? Or do you want to, Champster (If you remember it.
