Hello people of YCM, i found out a way to make some of the most EPIC text in gimp by accident when i was messing around with the controls in gimp, so i have decided to post how i did it and examples of Finished products here.

Note:if you read carefully, only Basic knowledge of Gimp is needed.

Software Needed = Gimp

[spoiler=Step by step Guide on how to make this Epic text]

Step 1:

Open up gimp.

Step 2:

Create a new File with Dimensions of 800x800, but before you click Create click the advanced options tab and switch the option that says "fill with BG" to "fill with transparency" and then click create.

Step 3:

Click the text button and choose a font and type in the desired text, but make sure the text color is a dark grey.

Note: if you are wondering what Font i used, i used Segoe Print Bold, which comes with gimp when you Download it, no download needed.

Step 4

Once you have the text the way you want it and have it colored dark grey, delete all layers but the text layer,

and then go to filters > distorts > Emboss

and emboss on these settings

Emboss or Bumpmap: Bumpmap

Azimuth: 360.00

Elevation: 35.00

Depth: 10.00

Step 5:

Then duplicate the text layer twice. Then select the Bottom layer and bring the Opacity to 0 so it is invisible, then select the Top layer and go to Filters > blur > Gaussian blur with these settings

horizontal: 6

Vertical: 6

then switch the top layer to value setting and merge down layers until you have 1 layer.

Final Step :

What you do next is duplicate that layer and once again make the bottom layer invisible. Then you make a new layer and using the bucket fill it with any pattern of your choice (not all patterns will work.) Then go to

filters > Map > warp and warp the pattern filled layers on these settings

Step size: 3.00

Iterations: 5.00

then after that is done make sure the pattern filled layer is on top then switch its layer's mode to dodge and merge down until you have one layer and wallah! you are done!
