IC: Kris was talking to Jarred when he noticed Merin slump over and Tiburius lift her up and ask for the Hospital wing. He also noticed quickus stand up and lead Tiburius to the hospital wing, as most people did. He wasn't that interested so he just picked up a leg of chicken and started to eat again.

'What the...?' Ryu had seen Merin revive a dead spider as she was eating. That must be her power, to heal people; wait... during the ambush, hadn't she also drained the life out of two people? Ryu realized, as she was being carried away by Quickus with Tiberius following, that that must have been her power: The ability of biokinesis... maybe... to an extent? Man, he read comics waaaayyyy too much.

"Heh." Shadow mumbled, amused, after seeing Merin slump over her dish and being carried over to the hospital wing.

Meanwhile, the unnoticed spider crawled on the floor with an abnormally high speed. It went under the table, and was just about to get away from the scene when Shadow's feet crushed it with full force. Resuming his halfway banquette, he watched both Quickus and Tiberius exit the dining room with an unconscious Merin.

Quickus led Tiberius up the main hall stairway and turned left. they walked for about 30 seconds until they came to a door on the right. Quickus opens the door and yells, "Matron unconcious fighter that needs your attention."

 

The matron stepped out of her office. She looked a lot like nurse joy except he hair was blue and was a bit longer. The matron looked at Tiberius like he was stupid. "Well," the Matron spoke with impatiences. "Put the girl down here. What you two had a lover's spat or something?"

 

Tiberius blushed, but did as the matron told. The matron held out her hands over the the girl and slowly she started to wake her up.

"No.... I'm still sleepy..."

 

As the matron attempted to wake Merin, the girl struggled a bit, still wanting to sleep. Eventually, Merin's eyes opened, and she found herself staring straight at the ceiling.

 

Where am I? Merin was silent aside from a few tired groans. Ah! I overdid it again... This realization was met with a sudden gasp. I'll need to be more careful if I'm going to beat Joseph...

 

Merin made no attempt to move from her spot. She was fine just laying down. After all, when this happens, all she usually needs is an hour of continuous rest to get back to normal.

"Merin Merin are you ok?" Tiberius asked with a worry evident in his face. He didn't like seeing his first friend out like this.

 

Matron looks over towards the boy. "Don't worry boy," The matron says. "She be fine. She just tired. Whatever her ability is, It took a lot out of her. All she needs is some rest. No you two scoot."

 

Tiberius looks at the Matron pleadingly. "Can I stay? Please?" The matron looks at the boy for a min, then says, "Okay you can stay. Quickus out."

 

Quickus puts his hands up in defense and exits the room silently. 'The loyalty that this one shows towards his friends is remarkable,' Quickus thinks as he heads towards the Dining room.

 

Tiberius takes a chair near Merin.

Joseph is actually waiting outside the room, He had stated before that no one, especially Meirin, was to lose unless it was in a match, and their spirit crushed by him. It was a weird form of respect, and many wouldn't want this kind, but this was his own way. He didn't care about Meirin, but the fact that she was knocked out in the first place infuriated him.

Finishing up his meal, Ryu decided to check on Merin. She probably passed out from exaustion, but just in case. Walking down the hall that he saw the trio enter, he passed by Quickus.

 

"And where are you going, young man?" the man asked curiously.

 

"To check if Merin's okay," he answered simply, continuing to walk with his hands in his pockets. Finally finding the hospital, he walked inside to see Tiberius sitting on a chair next to the bed Merin was in. "Will she be alright?" he asked, putting his hand on Tiberius' shoulder.

Tiberius? Merin was surprised to hear his voice. He's worried about me? Amazing. He will probably make a good ally and friend for sure.

 

"I'm okay, you don't have to worry about me." Merin gave Tiberius a thumbs up, still not moving the rest of her body and staring upwards. "I just need to rest."

 

She heard Ryu's voice a bit later. Him too? I guess I *did* suddenly collapse. She was happy that these two cared enough to visit her.

 

"I'm perfectly fine, just tired." Merin replied to Ryu, not wanting to worry him further.

 

As she said this Merin felt a strange feeling on her face. A piece of bone from... whatever animal she was eating earlier was now touching her face, held together by some mashed potatoes. In addition to the bone itself, she could sense the life inside it. It definitely wasn't much, even for its size. I suppose being dead would do that... Merin thought to herself, as she tried to absorbed the life from the bone. It worked.

 

"Amazing," Merin muttered, a smile forming on her face.

"Yeah," Tiberius said. "The Matron said that she suffered from exhaustion and that she needs rest that's all. So I'm going to stay here tonight while she rests, to make sure she stays safe. Could you do me a favor and tell me what Quickus says about tomorrow please? It would really help a lot. And Thanks for the support."

"You got it, pal," Ryu beamed. "I'll see what the man says, and then I'll tell you and Merin," he walked out of the infirmary, whistling to himself.

'And then I'll have to find out where my room is,' thought to himself. Just then, he felt someone. Someone strong. He looked back to see a man standing near the entrance; how did he not notice that? 'Sweet, I want to spar with him.' he thought with a smile, continuing down the hall

Joseph just waited, he heads what the others said about her."They act like they really care...I'm sure she's fine without friends," he lays back in his chair and just looks at the ceiling, inside he knew that Tiberius kid was in there, he seemed interesting, and he knew Meirin would eventually challenge him, but the third he didn't know much about, and he didn't really care.

Quickus heads back down stairs. He knew that matron and that Tiberius kid would take good care of her so there was no need to worry. He walks into the dining room and sees most of the people there.

 

"Ahem attention people," Quickus says. "Thank you for being patient. With all of that has happened today, I assume that you are all tired yes? Oh Brakens." Eight guys with butler like uniforms came in. "These men will escort you to your rooms. We will meet here for breakfast 8a.m. Sharp. don't be late. We will start training at 9:30 tomorrow. Good night gentlemen."

Ryu sprinted down the hall after hearing the news for the night. 'Okay, breakfast at 8:00 and training at 9:30,' he thought to himself, skidding into the doorway to the infirmary. "Tiberius," he said. "Breakfast's at 8:00 sharp and Training starts at 9:30. Now if you'll excuse me, they're showing us where our rooms are; you can come if you want." He sprinted back out, not even waiting for a reply, intent on making it back in time.

"No I'm fine. I'll ask someone where my room is in the morning." Tiberius says. "Thanks a lot. See you at breakfast." Tiberius watches as Ryu leaves the room. Tiberius watches Merin sleep peacefully. Then setting his watch alarm to vibrate at 7 a.m., he lay in the chair and falls asleep.

Joseph decided against sleep, as soon as everything was in the clear he simply found his room to grab a few items, afterwards he walked out into a courtyard and began his training session, it was hard and rigorous, his training weights seemed to cause him great strain, but he avoided resting, almost as if afraid of never waking up.

Shadow had just finished his exuberant meal when Quickus came over and told them about breakfast was going to take place at 8:00 AM in the magnificent dining room, while training would supposledy start at 9:30 AM. Shadow stood up again, and followed one of the eight men who were patiently waiting beside the large wooden double doors.

The man led him to his room and left. Shadow opened his room's door, the golden knob appeared to be so polished the reflected light sneaked through his fingers. The first thing he saw were his scrupulously-placed belongings next to his bed. Shadow smirked, entering the room and closing the door. He was now on the endless void he knew was being alone.

"So this is my room, eh?" Ryu said as he walked into his room, and hey, the guys really had brought his stuff in. Taking his sweatshirt, shirt and hat off, he reached behind his back and pulled the tonfa out of the strap around his back. "Now I can train!" he proclaimed, taking a DVD of his favorite anime, 'Kenichi The Mightiest Disciple,' and popping it into his portable DVD player. He stopped the portable player

 

"Okay," he mumbled to himself, "I'm finally here, so I gotta go harder. "Let's go 100 with both hands, and fifty with each. 130 sit-ups, 30 crunches and an hour of practicing martial arts." He rubbed his hands together in anticipation. "All right, let's get started!" He got into the plank position. "One... two... three... four..."

Merin began to drift off to sleep, but could not. For someone who just drained her energy, she was quite restless. The fact that once-living things can still hold life energy intrigued her; she wanted to learn more about it. She finally sat up and looked around. She was in an infirmary of some sort, with Tiberius sleeping in a chair.

 

...That's bad posture. Merin frowned. And you might catch a cold like that. Feeling a little responsible for Tiberius' actions, she grabbed the sheet off the bed she was in and laid it over Tiberius. Can't help with the posture, sorry.

 

Merin left the room... and was instantly lost. She decided to walk in a random direction, hoping to come upon a landmark she saw before. As she wandered the halls, she happened to spot a familiar sight outside a window...

 

Joseph! Merin's disposition turned sour instantly after seeing him. He seemed to be training himself with weights. It looked like he had been doing this for awhile. Merin shook her head. In the end, you'll still lose to me, even if you train. Merin felt that she would be able to best him easily once she mastered her ability and kept training. She may have left hints about her ability all day today, but she's learning new things all the time. She left Joseph to his training, not wanting to waste anymore time.

 

...She needed to find her room.

Shadow picked up his trusted Dual Saber, a technological masterpiece combining the slashing technique and maneuverability of a sword, and deadly plasma blades on both isosceles triangle edges. He was given this exactly two years ago, but who did? It just had a red bow with a mysterious card tied with it, reading "For you, Shadow." on both sides. The strange happening didn't intrigue him very much, but the fact the weapon was high technology and considering his swordsmanship skills at that time...

As soon as Shadow's hand touched the thin metal cylinder, the inactive grey edges of the triangular blades glowed a mystic blue color. Manipulating it like if it was some sort of large Nunchaku, he continued to train with it for some minutes.

Stopping, Shadow lifted his right arm, the horizontally-placed Dual Saber illuminated the left and right wall of the room, respectively. Lifting now his left, he felt magic flow through his body and center the constant energy on his arm, to later slip past his elbow up to his whole hand. The teal stripes started glowing in an electric blue color, Shadow slowly loosened the Dual Saber's grip with his other unused arm... It didn't fell. He smirked, making the levitating weapon spin clockwise on the same spot, the room flashing in blue intervals.

This special exercise went for about thirty seconds, when suddenly the shining electric blue stripes in his arm turned teal again, resulting in the fall of the Dual Saber. He knew he would do better next time...

Exausted, he literally threw himself in the bed. Shadow didn't exactly know why, but using magic made his body a little tired, now adding the fact it was late in the night. He slowly started to drift off...

Kris had slipped away from the brraken who was leading him to his room. He had already seen his room from the outside, the one with the katana on the window, and had seen the buildings plans so many times that he had his rooms position memorized. He was walking along the corridors and stopped as he noticed Merin coming round the corner. Damn! I'll have to slip by some how. He thought, trying to think up a plan.

Quickus walked to his bed chamber. He sat on the bed, comtemplating his charges. 'Tiberius, it seems, was a very good fighter, but judging by his clothing and appearance, looked to be very poor. I wondered how he afforded the Academy, until I remembered that Tiberius had the highest score on the placement exam. Shadow was a interesting person to say the least. I feel that he would be an excellent student. Ryu was another of the students that confused me. His emotions change a lot, so I'd better keep and eye on him. He would also keep an eye out for Merin and Joseph. So they wouldn't kill each other. Kristen was another mystery, wrapped in a egnima. I'll keep an eye on. Merin Atasaka, I know her father well. But she is much stronger than her father. I hope she can realize it. I also hope that she won't let grudges mess up her promising future. With that thought, I shall go to sleep.'

"Augh, finally, it's done," a sweaty Ryu sighed, flopping down onto his bed. He looked at his DVD player, 'Hmmm...' Ryu thought. 'Watch my favorite anime and maybe pickup some more moves?' he looked at his clock, 12:30 AM. Deciding that Kenichi could wait, he fell asleep quickly.

After almost getting caught by merin, kris wandered about untill he knew every nook and cranny of this building and since it was dark outside he decided to go to his room. He had trouble rememberinng the plans but worked them out eventually, locking his room as soon as he got in. He picked up his katana of the window and swung it around abit. When he'd finshed doing that he sheathed it and attached it to the side of his bed for easy access. "Now for some Zs." He said to himself, before drifting of into yet another nightmare fulled sleep.

Merin thought she saw someone as she wandered the halls, though whoever it was didn't want to be seen. Is someone watching me? Merin continued to walk a bit to see. It didn't seem like she was being followed. I wonder who was sneaking around? Probably one of the students...

 

Eventually she came upon one of the servants who was kind enough to show her to her room. It was a bit removed from the other fighter's rooms, probably because she was a girl? She had no idea why, though, since her room had a personal bathroom and everything.

 

Quickus doesn't skimp on anything, does he? The first thing Merin did was write down her discoveries about her power in her diary. Paranoid as she was, it was written as a normal diary, but Merin could glean her research from it. Noticing it was about 1AM, she quickly went to sleep after setting her alarm; not even bothering to unpack the rest of her things.
