The 100th chapter...

Fanfic!

[spoiler=Chapter 100!!!]

Chapter 100 - When someone says they lost internet, they’re lying, because internet doesn’t get lost. Now the time has finally come! The 100th chapter is here! Wait, now I’m lost. How did we get here? Or better yet, how much time has it been since the beginning? 100 days! Actually, the 100th chapter took twice as long to make as a regular chapter, so even though it’s the 100th chapter, it’s only the 99th day of serialization. Or rather, I lost count. Anyway, it’s time to begin the Festival of Events of the Fake Knights!

“The time has come! What everyone’s been waiting for!” Dark Link announced.

“Wait. Don’t tell me, it’s yet another filler, isn’t it?” Creator asked.

“Not just any filler,” Dark Link began. “It’s the 100th chapter filler! This chapter will be the greatest in existence!”

“So, basically, it’s just you putting me into perverted situations again, right?”

Dark Link chuckled. “All in due time, Creator, all in due time…so be patient. First, we’ll start off with a little poll I named the Fake Knights Love Love Poll!”

“What the heck is with that name?” Dark Magician Girl asked.

“Let me guess, you just recently read something like that in a certain manga with a ten-year old schoolteacher who can perform magic, and decided to do something similar here.” Nexev stated.

“Uh, well… anyway, moving on now…this poll decided the top three pairings in the entire story! Now, starting from third place, it’s…Chase and Dark Magician Girl? What the hell? What kind of messed up fanfics have people been reading?”

“This would be one of them. Now explain to me how the third favorite pairing is me and Chase, or I’ll rip out your esophagus.” Dark Magician Girl said.

“Dark Link, explain this now.” Chase said, pulling out his scythe.

Dark Link chuckled nervously. “Well, I can’t argue with the results, right? So, let’s move on to the 2nd place pairing.”

Dark Link looked at the score sheet. “Wow, once again, Dark Magician Girl makes it into the top three. The 2nd place pairing is Creator and Dark Magician Girl.”

Creator appeared behind Dark Link, a glare in his face, and a knife in his hands. “You son of a…”

“Well, come on, you saw it coming. I mean, back from that time you guys fought the alien together, right?”

“Shut up, you bastard…” Creator said.

Dark Magician Girl approached Dark Link. “Something tells me this contest is rigged. Something tells me there is a certain ninja here who has a death wish. Something tells me that I can grant that death wish…”

Dark Magician Girl sent a fireball in Dark Link’s direction. Dark Link grinned and stepped sideways. Creator made the fireball explode in midair. A chuckled was heard and when the smoke cleared, Dark Link was no longer there.

“Well, you may be wondering where I went, so you can kill me, but you’ll never find me. Actually, you don’t want to. Anyway, moving on, it’s time for the first place pairing! Get your hands together for… me and Field Sprite!”

Field Sprite blushed. “No way, this thing really is rigged, isn’t it? There’s no way I could marry that pervert!”

Dark Link chuckled. “No one ever said marry. Just what goes on through your head, Field-chan?”

“Y-you be quiet! It was a misuse of language!”

Dark Link appeared next to Field Sprite and kissed her in the cheek, making her blush.

“Right, right, I believe you. Meanwhile, we’re going to move on to our second event. I suggest all of you who are faint of heart to get out of the room.”

“Dark Link, what did you do?” Creator asked.

Dark Link pressed a button, and the lights went out. He pressed another button, and the floor began to rise as music started playing in the background.

Suddenly, lights went on all around them, and when they opened their eyes, they saw the open sky.

“What in the world?” Chase asked.

“We’re fifty feet in the air, in a stadium. Why, you may ask? It’s simple. I’m going to pull out two random names out of this hat.”

Dark Link reached into the hat and pulled out two slips of paper. After reading both of them, he put them back into the hat and tossed the hat aside.

“Alright, now, would Chase and El Make step to the center of the stadium, while everyone else moves away if they know what’s good for them?” Dark Link asked.

El Make shrugged and walked to the center of the stage. Chase appeared a few feet in front of him.

“Alright, now, round one! FIGHT! Mortal Combat”

Chase turned to Dark Link. “You’re not serious.”

Dark Link fell to the floor laughing. After a few seconds, he got up and wiped away a tear.

“Alright, sorry, I couldn’t resist. Now, Chase and El Make, you have been chosen to fight in this arena. Now, begin!”

“This is gonna be way too easy.” Chase muttered to himself.

“This is gonna be such a drag.” El Make muttered to himself.

El Make appeared before Chase and stabbed at him with a darkness needle. Chase appeared behind him before the needle connected, and swung at El Make, who ducked and spun around, then stabbed Chase in his left arm with the darkness needle. Chase pulled away, and looked at his arm.

“Now you won’t be able to use that arm for five minutes, which is exactly how long this match will take.” El Make said.

“That’s what you think,” said Chase. “I’ll finish you off much quicker than that.”

Chase raised his right arm and a blast of fire shot out at El Make. El Make sighed and crushed the spike in his hand. The shards scatted around and more darkness formed from each, connecting the shards into a single circle of darkness. The fire hit the circle of darkness, but it couldn’t push through.

Chase stopped the outflow of fire and dashed as El Make. He kicked at El Make’s side. The darkness circle moved to block the kick, but it cracked under the pressure and shattered. El Make jumped back and concentrated a ball of darkness in his hand.

El Make raised his arm. “Fatal Rapture!”

A thin beam appeared on Chase’s chest, connecting him to the sphere on El Make’s hand. The beam pierced through Chase’s chest, leaving no wound. Chase looked down at his chest, but not even his clothes were torn.

“Well, I guess that move failed.” Chase stated.

“On the contrary,” El Make began. “It worked just fine. Wait and see.”

Chase stood there for a few seconds, but nothing happened.

“Okay, something’s wrong. You should be drained of all your happiness right now.”

Chase began laughing. “You were trying to drain my happiness? Sorry to say, life beat you to it.”

“Aw, come on. That’s one of my best moves. I even gave it a catchy name. Are you sure you’re not feeling the least bit sad?” El Make asked.

“Not more so than usual, no.”

“Feh, this is too troublesome. I quit.” El Make said.

“See, I told you I’d win.” Chase called after El Make, who was leaving.

El Make turned around. “I told you it would be exactly five minutes. I guess we were both correct.”

El Make turned back and disappeared.

“Well, now that the second event has finished in Chase’s win, time to move on to the third event!” Dark Link announced.

“Wait, don’t I even get a prize or something?” Chase asked.

“Oh, right, I almost forgot. You get to kiss Forest Sprite.”

“Screw you.”

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding!” Dark Link said, laughing. “You get a free ticket to a concert of some band or another. I forgot which one it was, so here, check it out.”

Chase looked at the ticket for a moment or two, and then ripped it in two.

“Hey, why did you do that?” Dark Link asked.

“Only you would want to go see a band called ‘Kinki Kids’.”

“That sounds illegal.” Creator commented.

“I swear it’s a good band. Plus, the singers are all, like, middle-aged men.”

“So they’re a bunch of pedophiles? That’s even worse.” Chase said.

“Who’s the bassist? Pedobear?” Creator asked.

“Shut up, all of you,” Deustodo said. “Now, to solve this, it’s all my fault, and the answer is 42. Now, moving on, what’s the third event, already?”

Dark Link smiled. “Ah, I’m glad you asked. This third event will be… a duel!”

“A duel? We just had one of those.” Chase stated.

“No, not a fight. I meant duel monsters.”

“Wait, you mean that children’s trading card game?” Creator asked.

“Yes, that one.”

”What person would want to watch two people playing a card game? I might as well just go watch two old people play checkers.” Deustodo said.

Dark Link chuckled. “Well, you see, it’s not your average card game. You’ll see. Kailyn, come over here. We’re going to duel.”

“I don’t have my deck with me…”

“Don’t worry. I picked it up while I was searching your room earlier.”

“You were searching my room?”

“Well, I… you see… anyway, here you go.”

Dark Link tossed a duel disk to Kailyn. It already had a deck inserted inside. While Kailyn strapped on her duel disk, Dark Link did the same with his. He took out a deck of cards from his pocket and inserted them into the duel disk. Numbers on both duel disks flashed four thousand.

“I will now go first without any mutual consent.” Dark Link stated, as he drew a card.

“Okay, a crappy hand, but nothing I can’t live with. I play one monster face-down and end my turn.”

Kailyn drew a card. “I summon Solar Flare Dragon.”

A long snake-like creature rose out of the field and began burning.

“I play activate Dark Room of Nightmare. Now, Solar Flare Dragon, attack his face-down card!”

The burning creature dashed forward and bit into a nasty-looking tomato, shattering it.

“You destroyed my tomato, which means now I get to special summon any monster with 1500 attack or lower from my deck. I think I’ll choose Junk Synchron.”

“Alright, I play one face-down card, and end my turn. You lose eight hundred life points due to my dragon’s effect, plus Dark Room of Nightmare.”

A jet of fire burst forth from the dragon’s mouth, burning Dark Link’s life points to 3500. Then, a similar, albeit smaller, burst of fire shot out from the Dark Room of Nightmare.

“Alright, I’m at 3200, not bad. Time to bring out my Mausoleum of the Emperor! Now, by paying one thousand life points, I can summon a high-level monster from my hand, and I think I’ll choose Archfiend of Gilfer.”

A wicked-looking creature with long, black wings appeared from the card.

“Finally, I tribute my archfiend, and little junky, to synchro summon…Colossal Fighter!

A giant, human-like monster with shiny white armor stepped onto the field.

“Colossal Fighter gains one hundred attack for each warrior in my graveyard, and junky makes one, so now Colossal Fighter’s at 2900. Also, due to my archfiend’s ability, I can equip it once it’s sent to the graveyard to any monster on the field, making it lose five hundred attack.”

The wicked-looking creature arose from the graveyard and wrapped itself around Solar Flare Dragon, making it bend over slightly.

“Colossal Fighter, attack Solar Flare Dragon!” Dark Link yelled.

”Alright, but before you do, I activate backfire, which deals five hundred damage to you every time you destroy a fire monster.”

The face-down card on Kailyn’s side of the field flipped up as the giant ran over to Solar Flare Dragon and punched it once in the face, shattering it. Kailyn’s life point meter dropped to 2100, and Dark Link’s to 1700.

“I play one card face down and I end my turn.” Dark Link said.

“I draw,” Kailyn said. “Now I activate the magic card Premature Burial. For the cost of eight hundred life points, I can bring back a monster from my graveyard. So I’ll bring back Solar Flare Dragon. Now, from my hand, I’ll activate Shien’s Spy, which allow me to give you control of one of my monsters until the end phase, so I’ll lend you Solar Flare Dragon.”

The dragon glided over to Dark Link’s side of the field and turned to face Kailyn.

“Now, I tribute them both to special summon Lava Golem from my hand to your side of the field.”

A huge monster made entirely of bubbling lava appeared in place of Colossal Fighter and Solar Flare Dragon.

“Now, I play one card face-down, and end my turn.”

“Alright, I draw,” Dark Link said, before his life point meter dropped down to 700. “What was that?”

”It’s because of Lava Golem’s effect. Whoever controls him loses one thousand life points every turn. His power comes at a price.”

“Fine, I still have the upper hand here. I switch Lava Golem to attack mode, and I attack you directly!”

“Not so fast, I activate magic cylinder!” Kailyn said, as a face-down card on her side of the field revealed two cylinders.

Lava Golem’s attack was absorbed by one cylinder, shot out the other cylinder, toward Dark Link.

“Fine, then I’ll activate Doppelganger! Now, any damage done to me by a card effect is also dealt to my opponent.” Dark Link exclaimed as his face-down card flipped face-up.

The blast hit Dark Link, and rebounded back to Kailyn, hitting her. Both life point meters dropped down to zero.

“Well, I guess it was a tie. Now exactly what I was expecting, but, good enough.” Dark Link admitted.

“Wait, so was that supposed to be entertaining?” Creator asked.

“Was it?”

“Only mildly so…I was rooting for Kailyn, only because it’s your fault I’m here.” Creator responded.

“Well, then, it’s time to move on to what you’ve all been waiting for, the fourth and final event!” Dark Link said as he walked over to a lever on the wall.

A screen appeared on a large screen above them all, on the wall. There was a chibi version of Dark Magician Girl, Kailyn, Dokuro-chan, Wolfy, and both of Dark Link’s sprites. They were all lined up vertically. There was a small red arrow parallel to the column of chibi females, currently pointing toward Dark Magician Girl.

“I will now press this lever. Let the spinning commence.” Dark Link announced.

The vertical row began descending in an endless cycle. Fast, at first, then it began to slow down. The row of females finally slowed to a stop. The chibi Dark Magician Girl stopped on the place the arrow was pointing to.

“Now, Creator, if you would please step forward.” Dark Link said.

“Wait, shouldn’t you be calling Dark Magician Girl up?”

”You’ll understand soon enough.”

Creator shrugged and stepped further.

”Now, will Dark Magician Girl come over here too.”

”Dark Link, if this is going where I think it’s going…” Creator said.

Dark Magician Girl eyed Dark Link suspiciously, but stepped forward.

“Come on, step closer to each other. Don’t be shy.” Dark Link said, grinning.

Once Creator and Dark Magician Girl were mere inches from each other, Dark Link pressed the lever.

The large screen began showing a video. In the screen, Creator was simply staring down at a bed. Dark Magician Girl lay sleeping on the bed. It went on for a while, as if it was a picture, but Creator shifted every so often.

“Wait, is this…?” Creator began to say.

Deustodo chuckled. “Yep, remember that video from like seventy chapters ago? Well, I posted it on Youtube, and since it got so many views, I decided to make a DVD version with bonus footage, which is innaproppriate for basically anyone eighteen and under, and a commentary with me, the guy that pissed you off by filming the thing.”

Dark Magician Girl turned away from the screen to face Creator. “Creator, you’re a pervert. I expected something like raping a girl in a coma what Dark Link would do.”

“No, you’re misunderstanding. I was simply…”

”Hey, Dark Magician Girl, want me to play the extra footage?” Dark Link asked.

”Screw that, play it anyway! Then it’ll be thirty points for me, because Creator will be so pissed at you for making DMG so pissed at him, he’ll want to kill you.” Deustodo said.

Dark Link nodded and pushed a button on a remote controller he was holding. The video stopped and it began showing a menu screen with the words ‘Gaze of Desire”, right above the play button. Below the play button was a button entitled “Special Features”, which Dark Link pressed. He then pressed ‘Special Footage’, and after a few seconds, the same scene began to play, except this time, Creator moved closer to Dark Magician Girl. He leaned over so his face was close to hers.

“Dark Link, I’ll kill you!” Creator shouted, pulling out a gun and aiming it at the screen.

He fired, but the bullet did nothing except scratch the surface. Moans were now coming from the Dark Magician Girl in the movie. Chase was staring wide-eyed at the screen, unable to process what he was seeing. Kailyn was looking from the Dark Magician Girl in the screen, who was panting, to the Dark Magician Girl in front of her, whose eye was twitching. Bagon had left completely, and Nexev simply pretended to not take interest by opening a book and finding his bookmark, so he could continue reading.

Creator pulled out his halberd and charged at Dark Link. Dark Link simply disappeared as the halberd was swung art him.

“Creator, I never expected you to react that way at something like this.” Dark Link said, his voice being broadcast by the screen in which Creator had opened Dark Magician Girl’s legs wide.

“You know damn well why I tried to kill you. It wasn’t bad enough that Deustodo filmed that… misunderstanding, but you had to make some completely untrue special edition crap!”

Dark Magician Girl looked at Creator. “So this didn’t happen?”

“W- Of course it didn’t happen! I wouldn’t rape you!”

“It’s nice to know you don’t think my body’s worth raping…”

“That’s not what I meant! It’s less a physical matter, and more of a moral matter!”

Dark Link chuckled. “Really? That video seems pretty physical to me.”

“You made that footage yourself, you bastard!”

“Actually, it was Deus who gave me the idea. I just used my skills for evil, I guess you can say. Still, don’t tell me it doesn’t look awesome?”

“Well, not as awesome as your hidden stash of lolis do now after I found them.”

“Creator…what did you do to my stash of loli pictures?”

“Oh, not much. I simply gathered them all into one pile and drenched them in gasoline, then set fire to the whole thing.” Creator replied, casually.

“…You bastard…”

Chapter 101 - Scales

Deustodo chuckled, causing the girl’s eyebrows to become furrowed.

“How can you be laughing, knowing that if you don’t act now, you may never save your sanity?” the girl asked.

“Girl, whatever your name is, I am the Madness Master. I can control madness, so I say screw that.”

“You are mistaken,” The girl began. “You do not control madness, as you think. It’s more like, your soul and madness are in a delicate balance. A single push from either side can tip the scales.”

“Okay, now say that in a way a normal person can understand. Or, rather, in a way a normal person plus me can understand.” Deustodo said.

The girl sighed. “Well, basically, you’re not controlling madness. You’re simply borrowing its power. Now, it wants to borrow back, and it will consume your soul when it does.”

“Well, I think I understood that, but where did you get this from?”

The girl paused, and stood up from the rock she had been sitting on. She walked over to Deustodo, who was sitting on the floor, and bent down a little so her face was parallel to his.

“I’ve lived inside you for a long time. I’ve watched the changes happening inside you. Although you may not have noticed, I have, and I don’t want you to be destroyed by the very thing you claim to control, if I can help you.” the girl said, smiling.

Deustodo nodded. “Okay, I get it. Now explain to me one thing. You said something bad can happen if the scales are tipped toward madness. Tell me, what happens if I tip the scales the other way?”

The girl was taken aback. “Wait, what happens if you tip the scales the other way?”

“Yes, that’s what I asked. What happens then?” Deustodo asked.

“I…honesty don’t know.”

The girl paused, and sat back down.

“Well then, I might just have to try it.” Deustodo said, getting up, and heading for the cave entrance.

The girl’s eyes widened. “Deus, to even consider such a thing would be beyond foolish! You can’t really be thinking of trying to win against madness! That’s like trying to win against a god!”

Deustodo chuckled and turned around. “I’ve already done something like that.”

[spoiler=Chapter 102]

Chapter 102 - Madness

Deustodo left the cave, without another thought except to tip the scales. He looked up at the red sky.

“I have no idea where my core is…”

“I know where it is.” the girl called to him from the mouth of the cave.

“Then lead me there.”

“First, I need to know if you’re really sure about this.” the girl said.

“Why can’t you just take me there, and let me decide if I’m sure about something I want to do for myself?” Deustodo asked.

The girl approached him and looked up to face him. She nodded and looked back down.

She began walking. “Okay, if you’re sure you want to take the risk. Follow me.”

Deustodo followed her. “Finally…”

Gir stumbled out of the cave after them. “Wait, I want tacos too!”

All three of them walked for a time. Deustodo looked down at his hand.

“Hey, why does it look like the madness surrounding me is fading or something?” he asked.

“It’s not. It’s simply converging into your core, to destroy you from the inside.” the girl answered.

“Okay, now tell me what converging means. Wait, I thought I was inside my core already.”

“Converging means that the madness in you is now concentrating in one spot, and that spot is your soul. Also, the ‘you’ that’s here isn’t exactly you. It’s more like, an image of you that your body created. I don’t know why, but it did.”

“Okay, so I am, in fact, an actual crystal?” Deustodo asked.

“Again, not exactly. You’re essence is inside the crystal. Which means right now, you have no physical form. To put it simply, your mind is inside the crystal.”

“Okay, I’ll pretend I understand all of that, and not just the last bit. So, basically, madness is going to stop surrounding me?” Deustodo asked.

“Yes, if we don’t hurry.” the girl answered.

“Alright then, let’s not waste any more time, shall we?”

A few minutes later, or a few hours, it was impossible to tell, they finally reached a black crystal exactly alike the crystal that Deustodo was inside of at that moment. The only difference was that the size of this one was immense compared to the other one. The girl gestured toward the crystal.

“It’s there. Your core is that crystal.”

”So, what do I have to do?”

“Well, simply touch it. be careful, though, because if your will isn’t strong enough, the madness will consume you.”

”Yeah, yeah, you already blabbered about that a lot. Well, wish me luck.” Deus said, half grinning.

“Good luck, Deus.” the girl said, smiling.

“That was a figure of speech. Oh well, let’s see if my core is ready for me…”

Deustodo stepped closer to the crystal.

“So, madness might consume me, huh? Well, it’s going to anyway, if I don’t do something, so I might as well do it now.”

He reached his hand out and touched the crystal.

[spoiler=Chapter 103]

Chapter 103 - Consumed

As soon as Deustodo’s hand touched the crystal, a ripple echoed throughout the crystal.

“I wonder what’s supposed to happen now…” Deustodo said.

From the crystal stepped a black figure, with one glowing red eye. The figure hovered a few centimeters from the floor as he moved closer to Deustodo, who stepped back a few paces.

“Hey, that’s weird. I could have sworn I was me. But if that’s so, then who’s this guy?” Deustodo asked.

“I am not you, simply an image of you your body has created. In truth, I am the madness within you.”

“Well, at least I got that last part. Well, anyway, I’m here to tip the scales.”

”Foolish mortal, do you think I’ll simply allow you to do that?” the figure said, hovering toward Deustodo.

“Well, yeah, I mean, think about it, I like pissing people off.” Deustodo answered, backing away.

”What? What does that have to do with anything?”

“Because, while you’re sitting here talking to me, Gir is over there, eating the crystal.”

The black figure turned around to look at the crystal, alarmed, but no one was there. He turned back, and Deustodo was gone, already next to the crystal. He opened his mouth and took a bite out of it. After swallowing, he grinned.

“From your reaction to me telling you that Gir was eating the crystal, I’d say you don’t want people to eat it. So, to see if something would happen, but also to piss you off, I ate it. Shi shi, it’s really quite funny that I managed to trick you into doing something like that. I guess madness by itself isn’t all that great.”

“You…fool! You have now eaten out of your own core, your soul!” the figure exclaimed.

“Yes, and it was yummy. I figured, since I still have madness in me, I might as well just eat it. It couldn’t hurt to try, right?”

The figure scowled, but before it could do anything, it dissolved. Deustodo began to dissolve as well.

“Okay, what the heck is happening?” he asked.

The girl approached him. “You have completed your mission, so you’re going back to the outside world.”

“Well, that’s good to know. Hey, you never told me your name.”

“It’s Seiko. Seiko Ayuzawa.”

“Hey, aren’t you coming too?” Deustodo asked.

Seiko shook her head. “I don’t think I can. I don’t know how to get out of here, but, I’m fine.”

“Humans are weird…” Deustodo said, chuckling, before completely disappearing.

[spoiler=Chapter 104]

Chapter 104 - Back to Earth

Deustodo opened his eyes and began looking around, dazed. Maths, Johnny, Demma, and others were staring, wide-eyed at him.

“Hey, what’s wrong? Why do you all look surprised?” Deustodo asked.

“Uh, who are you, exactly?” Demma asked.

“I believe that is, after he has journeyed within himself, and found the answer to a moral dilemma which had been plaguing him at the start of his voyage, Deustodo. It seems we do not have to ponder on how to best release him from his psychological prison.” Bonz said.

“Okay, I got that you know I’m me, Bonz, and that’s about it. Yes, it’s me. Why’s that so hard to believe, Demma?”

Maths pointed to a mirror on the wall. “Take a look.”

“Okay, that’s a mirror. I’m guessing you want me to look in the mirror, right?”

Deustodo walked over to the mirror and looked at himself. What he saw, however, was not himself. At least, not how he remembered. He had a suit on, and black hair, part of which covered his right eye. His left eye was red, but like a normal human’s, and not glowing.

“Okay, what kind of a joke is this?” Deustodo asked.

“It’s no joke, you look…human.” Johnny said.

“Well, that sucks. Like, seriously, what are doing being a human?” Demma asked.

“I didn’t even know I was looking like a human. Actually, I don’t even know how.” Deustodo stated.

“Even though you have returned, the source of your troubles, yet the source of yourself, still lingers. I wonder why.” Bonz pondered.

“Wait, what?” Deustodo asked.

“Look, the crystal is still there.” Maths said, pointing at the crystal.

Deustodo turned around to see the crystal behind him, on the floor.

“Wait, how is that thing still there? I mean, I thought the crystal was me, so if I’m me here, how can that crystal still be there?” Deustodo asked.

The crystal began to shake. A crack appeared on it, and then it shattered. Standing where the crystal had been was Gir, but instead of his usual grey color, he was black, and his eyes were glowing red.

“Hey, Gir, are you okay?” Demma asked.

Gir started to shake slightly. He looked up at Deustodo.

“Are there any tacos?” Gir asked.

“We’re not exactly on Earth, so there are absolutely no tacos here.” Maths answered.

Gir shook more violently. Deustodo reached out his hand and tapped Gir on the shoulder.

“Hey, why are you consumed by madness?” Deustodo asked.

Gir’s red eyes took on a softer glow, and his grey color came back. Gir blinked, and his eyes were blue again.

“Deus, what happened?” Gir asked.

Deustodo looked at his hand. “I don’t know. What did happen? I felt like I took your madness.”

“Wait, so now you can take people’s madness?” Demma asked.

“Apparently, I can. I wonder what else this new body can do…” Deustodo said.

“Hey, Deus, I don’t mean to rush you, but we’re running out of time. Can’t you learn your new powers or whatever on the way?” Johnny asked.

“Alright, everyone, we’re going back to Earth,” Deustodo said.

Chapter 105 - Departing

“Why do you have to go?” someone asked in the darkness as a tear slid down their cheek.

Creator looked at Suzuki. “So, who exactly did you say you were?”

“I’m Suzuki Hirako. I met Kailyn during her journey, and accompanied her here.”

“So, you share our goal?” Creator asked.

“Yes, in fact, I’d like to help you in this war. I’m not much of a fighter, but I’m quite useful for medical purposes.” Suzuki said, smiling.

“Is that so? Well then, can I ask a favor of you? There’s one person I want you to look at.” Creator said, opening the door and gesturing her to go first.

Suzuki nodded and exited the room, followed by Creator. He led her down the hallway, and into another room.

“You see, Suzuki, he hasn’t woken up in the two days we’ve been here in this abandoned underground laboratory we found. Nexev’s tried potions, but nothing’s working. I can’t gather much data, except his vital signs are low, but stable.”

Suzuki walked over to Chase, who was lying in a bed, his eyes closed. She looked at him for a few moments. She raised her arm and touched his neck gently with two fingers, closing her eyes. She stood there for a few seconds, and then shook her head.

“It seems he’s in a coma of some sort. The only thing strange thing is… he has no heart rate.” Suzuki said.

“I wondered about that too. Well, can you do anything to help?” Creator asked.

“I’m afraid not. I can’t even tell what would cause him to be in such a severe coma.”

Suzuki walked out of the room and walked farther down the hallway. She stopped when she thought she heard something. A second later, she heard the exact same sound. It sounded like someone sobbing.

Suzuki crept closer to the door. She could head the sobs more clearly now. Suzuki took a deep breath and inched the door open. Inside, she found Dokuro-chan, crying on her pillow.

“Why are you crying?” Suzuki asked slowly.

Dokuro-chan looked over her shoulder, surprised. She wiped her eye and sat up on the edge of the bed.

“W-what are you doing here? Who are you?” she asked.

“I’m Suzuki, the new member of the Fake Knights. I…heard sobs coming from this room. If I may ask, what’s the matter?”

Dokuro-chan shook her head. “No, it’s nothing, really.”

Suzuki frowned and walked over to the bed. She sat down next to Dokuro-chan.

“I know it wasn’t ‘nothing’. Maybe I can help?” she asked.

“I don’t think you can help. It’s…Wolfy. You probably don’t know who she is, since you’re new.” Dokuro-chan said, looking down at her lap.

“Wolfy…isn’t that your girlfriend?”

Dokuro-chan raised her head. “Well, yes, how did you know?”

“Uh…Dark Link told me about her. Anyway, what’s the matter? Did something happen to her?” Suzuki asked.

“Well, you see, this morning, she was gone,” Dokuro-chan began. “I looked in her room, but all I could find was a note. Wolfy’s…gone back home. Her family got worried something would happen to her if she stayed with the Fake Knights, so they called her back. In the note, she said she wanted to stay, but…she also wanted to respect her parent’s wishes.”

Chapter 106 - Lone Wolf’s Quest, yet Leaving behind Someone

Dokuro-chan looked down at her lap, as a tear began forming in her eye.

“Oh, that’s why you’re sad. You said Wolfy’s going back to her family’s house, right? That means she’ll be safe from the war.”

“I know,” Dokuro-chan said. “I know that, and part of me thinks it’s for the best… but another part wishes she had stayed.”

“I’m positive. I’m positive she’s important to you. I’m also positive that, if you care about her that much, you’ll see her again.”

Dokuro-chan looked up at Suzuki. “You really think so? What if this war goes on forever? Or… or what if we don’t survive?”

Suzuki placed Dokuro-chan’s head on her shoulder. “Don’t worry. This war will be over soon, and we’ll all survive. One way or another, I promise you, we’ll make it through this.”

Dokuro-chan sniffed.

“Thanks, Suzuki. I appreciate you trying to make me feel better.”

Suzuki shook her head. “If someone wishes to see a loved one, they should think positively. Well, I wouldn’t know much about that, but, anyway, if you feel troubled again, you can always come to me. I’ll try to help as much as I can.”

Suzuki stood up and walked out of the room. Dark Magician Girl walked up to her. She said nothing, and simply grabbed Suzuki by the wrist and dragged her to a room. She threw Suzuki down on the bed. She moved her face closer to Suzuki’s.

“Dark Magician Girl, w-what are you doing?” Suzuki asked, surprised.

“You’ll see, ‘Suzuki’.” Dark Magician Girl said, leaning within centimeters of Suzuki’s face.

Chapter 107 - Pulse

Suzuki blushed, but she couldn’t put her head back any further.

Dark Magician Girl stopped. She chuckled and got off Suzuki. She walked over to the doorway and looked to both sides. Then, she turned to Suzuki.

“So, you’re not a Sin.” Dark Magician Girl stated.

“Wait, what are you talking about?”

“Well, you see, Creator noticed some breaches in the sectors or whatever, and he thinks it’s those Sin things.” Dark Magician Girl answered.

“Wait, you mean those Sins are back?” Suzuki asked.

“Apparently, and Creator thought you might be one of them.”

“Wait, that’s why he asked me so many questions about myself… he thought I was the enemy…” Suzuki said.

“Well, according to Kailyn’s report, you did appear around the time the Sins did. In fact, even I had my suspicions, so I came here to check myself.”

“So why did you have to get so close to me?”

“It was the only way to do it. Creator’s scanning thing only works close-range, eye to eye, or, something like that.” Dark Magician Girl answered.

Suzuki nodded. “As you can see, I’m not a sin. Maybe you should try somewhere else?”

“Nah, I’m done for the day. My wounds just recently recovered, so I’m going to just chill in my room.” Dark Magician Girl said, walking out of the room.

“Hmmm, maybe I should go see how Chase is doing.” Suzuki muttered.

She left the room and continued walking through the hallway until she reached Chase’s room. He still lay in bed, comatose. She approached him and placed her hand on his neck. After a few seconds, her eyes widened.

“His pulse…”

Chapter 108 - Vampirism

Chase’s eyes opened, and he sat up, panting, which startled Suzuki. Chase looked dazed at Suzuki.

“Who are you?” he asked.

“My name is Suzuki. I joined the Fake Knights while you were unconscious.” Suzuki replied.

“Oh, right, I guess I passed out again. I remember using my blood curse. Which means I must have been out for at least a week, right?”

“Actually, it’s just been several days, I believe.”

“Well, that’s weird. Usually, I’m out for at least a week. Anyway, why is someone like you here?” Chase asked.

“Well, I consider myself to be a medical specialist, of sorts, and your coma intrigued me. You had no pulse last time I checked, yet now you do.”

“Could it be, my vampirism’s… okay, this may seem weird, but I want you to punch me.”

“You want me to what?”

“Come on just punch me in the face. Give it your all. It won’t hurt if I’m wrong.”

Suzuki pondered for a few seconds, and then nodded. She closed her fist, and her eyes, and whacked Chase in the face with a small thud. He blinked.

“You’re kidding, right? That was the best you had?” he asked.

Suzuki chuckled. “Yes, I hit you with all my strength. It didn’t hurt much, right? I’m pretty weak.”

Chase’s eyes widened. He tossed away the covers and sat down over the side of the bed. He looked at his palms, and after a few seconds, jumped off of the bed and walked quickly toward the door. He stormed to Creator’s room and opened the door.

“Where are going?” Suzuki asked.

“I have to ask Creator something.”

Chase rushed through the hallway and entered Creator’s room.

“Creator, I have a problem, and I need your help,” Chase said.

“What is it?” Creator asked.

“I’ve lost my vampirism, and I need your help to get it back.”

Chapter 109 - Cure

“Wait, you want me to help you gain back your vampirism?” asked Creator.

“Precisely.” Chase responded.

“And you expect me to know how to do that?”

“Well, no, but I know how, I just need your…technology things.”

“Technology things?” Creator asked.

“Yeah, see, once a vampire like me loses his or her vampirism, there are only two ways to get them back. The first way, I refuse to do it. The second way, it’s much more complicated, but I agree with this method more.” Chase said.

“Well, before that, what’s the first method?”

”Uh, listen, if I wanted to go through with the first method, I wouldn’t need your help.”

”Okay, I’m still curious.”

“Okay, fine. The first method is to… well, you see, to get my vampirism the easy way, I’d have to taste a small drop of blood from a newborn vampire.”

”Wow, and I expected something perverted, like, having to do unprintable things to Dark Magician Girl.”

”Just because a pervert made this up, doesn’t mean I’d go through with something like that.” Chase replied.

“Okay, so, what’s so hard about that first method?” Creator asked.

“Well, that’s the thing. There’ve been no vampires born within the last thousand years or so. It’d be impossible to get a drop of newborn vampire blood, unless the only two vampires here were to um…that is to say…”

“Ah, I see, so what’s method number two?”

“That’s where you come in. I need you to invent something to send me back to some time before the last one thousand years, so I can perform method number one, then come back here, with all my vampire powers back.” Chase said.
