Chapter 80 - A Heavy Feeling

Dark Link saw a girl. She had green hair, and was wearing a green dress. Her kind eyes gave him warmth. He reached out to touch the girl, but she skipped away from him, giggling. He tried to follow, but his legs wouldn’t respond. He attempted to call out to the girl, to tell her to stop, but nothing came out of his mouth.

Dark Link turned his head and saw a girl with long red hair running at him, smiling. He opened his arms to embrace her, but before she reached him, she suddenly froze. The girl looked down at the sword protruding from her chest. She coughed up blood and crumpled to the floor. Dark Link tried to run to her side, to help her, but as with the green-haired girl, he could do nothing but stand there in silence.

He caught a glimpse of a third girl. She had long blue hair, and was wearing a white gown. She gave him one look, her blue eyes gazing deep into his own, and her lips were about to move, as if she were about to speak her name. Dark Link sat up, his eyes wide. He looked around. He was inside a room. He saw desks all around him, as if people had spread them out, so that there was somewhat of a circular clearing. A few feet to his right was Kailyn, sound asleep. A few moments passed, where Dark Link was trying to recall what had happened earlier that day. He gasped as he remembered Field Sprite and Kailyn, running together toward the Vongola’s base in the game of choice. Kailyn looked fine, albeit tired, but Field Sprite was nowhere to be seen. He stood up and walked out of the classroom. He looked to both sides, and ran to his left. He checked in classroom after classroom, but he found no sign of Field Sprite. His mind wandered for a second on where El Make was, but it focused back on Field Sprite almost immediately after.

He checked one more door, the last in the corridor, and found no Field Sprite, but he did find something. A banquet was lying there, with foods such as pizza, sandwiches, and chips, and drinks such as soft drinks and hot chocolate.

He walked into the room, unable to draw himself away. His mind went toward finding Field Sprite again, and he shook his head.

“I have to find Field Sprite first. Then I can come back here and eat…” Dark Link said, turning to leave.

“Going so soon? You know, this food might not be here when you come back. Someone else might eat it while you’re gone.” a voice whispered

Dark Link looked back. “Who’s there?”

“You can find your friend at any time, but food can simply be eaten, isn’t that right?” the voice said, apparently ignoring the question.

Dark Link hesitated. After a few moments, he shrugged and walked toward the food. He picked up a plate and began dropping pizza slices, chips, and a sandwich in his plate. He grabbed a glass of soda and sat down in a nearby chair. After he was almost finished with his plate, and his second helpings, he grabbed his glass of soda and chugged it down.

He stood up and wiped his mouth. “Alright, it’s time to find Field Sprite…”

He was about to walk toward the door when he felt a heavy feeling inside him. He grunted as he was dropped to his hands and knees. It seemed gravity had multiplied, and was pulling him toward the ground. He tried to get up, but it was like trying to lift an elephant off of himself.

“What is this? Why do I feel so heavy?” Dark Link muttered.

Chapter 81 - Wouldn’t it be Easier…?

Kailyn tried to open her eyes, but she found that she couldn’t. She tried to move her arms, but they wouldn’t respond. She tried speaking, but her mouth wouldn’t even move. She had wasted too much energy during the game of Choice. First, her fight with Dark Link had left her injured. Then, she had to run from place to place to find Field Sprite and then to save Rin. She had pushed herself beyond her limit, and now she was paying for it.

“It’s easy to just lie there, isn’t it? To just simply forget all your worries, instead of trying to face them, would be pleasant, would it not?”

Kailyn did not recognize the voice that spoke to her. It seemed like a whisper, yet it so clearly echoed in her head, she could not ignore it.

“I know of the pain you suffer. Every day, you wake up with that thought in mind. Will you ever be able to-“

“Shut up! You know nothing about me!” Kailyn shouted in her thoughts, back at the voice that seemed to know so much.

“Oh, is that so? I know your secret, girl. The secret you keep locked inside the deepest corners of your heart. The one that you wish you could simply erase.” the voice insisted.

“It’s not true! Just leave!”

“The voice carried on as if it had not heard her. “In fact, you think it’d be easier to just stop. To simply lie down, and say ‘I give up’. I’m right, aren’t I?”

“How…how can you know so much? Who are you?”

The voice chuckled. “What I am doesn’t really matter. You have a second question, do you not?”

“Yes, I do…can I really just lie here forever?”

The voice chuckled and took the form of a woman with long black hair. She was wearing a ragged blue shirt with a ragged, long, blue skirt.

“Of course you can, my dear…” the woman said, smiling.

Chapter 82 - Witch’s Lust

What was going on? He, El Make, hater of Rina, was suddenly being cornered by the one person he detested more than anything. This was not good, not at all. What if his girlfriend found out? Ah, his girlfriend. He remembered the good times, when he could just make out with her.

As El Make let his mind wander to past make-out sessions, he tripped and fell down into a sitting position.

Yeah, this was bad. And not just mildly bad, no, this was bad like...

He could think of nothing that was as bad as Rina trying to seduce him.

Oh crap, Rina. He had forgotten she was inching toward him.

Actually, no, she wasn’t. As he brought his thought back, he noticed Rina mere inches from his face. He yelped and brought his head back, hitting it on the side of a desk in the process. He sat there, dazed, for a few moments. Then, Rina touched his chin and gently lifted it up.

“El-kun… I want you in-”

“Do NOT finish that sentence…” El Make said, interrupting her.

He had heard enough. He did not know, or want to know, what Rina was about to say. The mere thought of her being inches from his face sent a cold shiver down his spine.

“El-kun… I thought you said you loved me…” Rina said, a tear forming in the corner of her eye as she began to blush.

That was it. She had crossed the line. You could try and seduce him. You could get mere inches from his face. You could even fantasize in your head, but when you tell him he confessed his love to the person he hated more than life, that was going too far.

El Make brought his foot up on Rina’s stomach, causing her to bend over and clutch her stomach, gasping for air. She fell backward. El Make, panting, stood up.

“Now, why don’t you tell me what you’re doing here, for starters? Actually, no, screw that. Tell me why the hell you’re trying to seduce me!” El Make demanded.

Rina looked up at him on all fours. “I… love you, El-kun…”

El Make suppressed a gag, and cleared his throat instead. “Well, I dislike your entire existence, so please leave, before I have to do some very unpleasant things to you…”

Rina blushed. “Well, if it’s El-kun… I won’t mind.”

El Make, this time, could not hold back, and actually gagged. “I hate your personality as well…”

Rina stood up. “I can change, El-kun! I can become your perfect girlfriend, lover, wife, sex toy, or whatever you want!”

El Make pondered the statement. “Well, what about Dark Link? I thought you liked him.”

Rina shook her head. “I thought I liked Dark Link, but I like you better, El-kun. I do, I swear…”

El Make thought for a moment, and then nodded. “Alright, I guess I can give it a try. Just promise you’ll stop acting the way you do…”

Rina’s eyes began to sparkle. “Of course, you’ll see I can change! Thank you for giving me a chance, El-kun!”

Rina stepped forward and leaned over to kiss El Make. Their lips were a few inches away, when El Make sidestepped and tripped her. She fell flat on her face.

“What are you, stupid? You’re obviously not Rina, or you’d be obsessed over Dark Link, and even if you weren’t, you call him Sasuke, not Dark Link. Now come clear, who are you, really?”

Rina shook her head. “It’s true, El-kun, I’m really Rina…”

As she finished her sentence, Rina pulled out a knife and jabbed at El Make.

She attacked him first. Finally, he had a reason to beat her senseless and not have to feel guilty. He raised his leg to kick her, but it wouldn’t budge. He looked down to see that shadows were holding his feet to the ground. He sighed and grabbed Rina’s arm, to avoid getting stabbed. She tried to struggle, but was helpless to escape his grip. El Make opened his other hand and a sphere of dark energy formed in it. He sighed and shoved the sphere in Rina’s stomach. She looked down as the sphere penetrated her body, causing no wounds. El Make let go of her hand and stepped back.

Rina fell to her knees. “What have you done?”

El Make chuckled. “Oh, not much, it’s just a little something that will consume every positive thought in your head. You don’t have to worry much, as someone like what you are will probably just disappear. Actually, you’re more of a something, huh?”

Rina’s eyes widened. “How did you know?”

“I read your heart. It’s easily within the boundaries of my ability. Now, goodbye, fake Rina. This was quite… unpleasant…”

Rina was about to stand up, but noticed she was fading away. Her eyes widened, and a tear formed in the corner of her eye, only this time, it was genuine.

“I don’t want to… not yet… please…” Rina began.

Before she could utter anything else, she disappeared in black dust.

Chapter 83 - Sprite’s Envy

Field Sprite nodded. “Alright, I’ll do it. What do I have to do?””

“Isn’t it obvious? You have to get rid of the one he desires.”

“You mean I have to kill Kailyn?” Field Sprite asked.

“Think of it as directing your master’s attention toward yourself.”

Field Sprite closed her eyes and nodded. The voice chuckled, and took the form of a young boy. His blue suit with red tie matched his grin and golden eyes, as well as his dark green hair. He walked over to Field Sprite and placed a hand on the middle of her chest. It fazed through her skin, creating special ripples a mere millimeter from her, and he walked inside the ripples. Once he was fully gone, Field Sprite opened hey eyes, which she had closed when the boy touched her chest, and they were golden, like the boy’s.

Field Sprite grinned. “Kailyn… your time has come.”

Field Sprite grinned and walked out of the classroom. She paused for a split second, and then continued toward the room Kailyn was still sleeping in. Not a thought crossed her mind about Dark Link. She just wanted Kailyn out of the way. Then she could have Dark Link to herself.

Field Sprite entered the room and was surprised to see Dark Link was gone, but quickly pushed that thought out of her head as she saw Kailyn there, sleeping. Now was the perfect time to strike. It was the perfect time to take her life. It was the perfect time to remove her rival. But she hesitated.

“What’s wrong? I thought you made a vow to yourself that you were prepared to do anything for the love of your master.”

A vase fell down and crashed onto the floor, making Field Sprite yelp. Her eyes shifted from golden to their usual brown.

“I want him to love me,” she began. “Yet…I can’t do it. It just doesn’t seem fair. What if there’s still a chance…that he could love me?” Field Sprite asked.

“You already know the way he feels. He already said he loved Kailyn, you heard so yourself.”

Field Sprite’s eyes turned golden again, and she held out a finger. A wisp of fire appeared a hair’s breadth from the tip of her finger. She looked down at the sleeping Kailyn.

“This is it.” Field Sprite said, chuckling.

Chapter 84 - Ninja’s Gluttony

It was no use. Dark Link could not, no matter how much he tried, lift himself off the ground. Something was wrong.

Dark Link’s eyes widened. “Wait… there must have been some kind of poison in the food… but why did nothing happen while I was eating?”

“Isn’t it obvious,” a voice called. “The drinks contained a certain chemical that reacted with the formula in the food to cause your weight to increase dramatically. I’d say you weight at least two times your normal weight right now.”

Dark Link looked up to see a black shape, and thought for a second it was Deustodo, but on a closer inspection, this black shape was nothing like Deustodo. It was, in fact, a round ball on the floor. The small black pupil in its one eye was glaring at Dark Link.

“You knew how a Venus flytrap catches its prey? It lets out a sweet smell. That smell attracts all kinds of bugs to it. Then, when the bugs land on the Venus flytrap, it opens its mouth and swallows the bugs. Once they’re inside, they have no chance to escape. This is exactly like the Venus flytrap, except it’s me who’ll be eating you.”

The round black creature rolled toward Dark Link and opened its mouth. It froze, shocked. It looked down to see a sword through its stomach. It was the sword that Dark Link was holding.

“It seems you let your guard down.” Dark Link said, gripping the hilt tighter.

“What - how did you…” it stuttered.

“It was easy for me to see there was poison in the food. My whole acting was just to get you to reveal yourself.”

“I saw you drink! You couldn’t have faked poisoning.”

“I never said I wasn’t poisoned. I just said I was acting earlier. See, I’m a ninja. We have to undergo an incredible amount of poison training.”

Dark Link winced and pulled out the sword, and the creature snarled in pain. Dark Link got up to a kneeling position.

“Now tell me, who are you?” Dark Link asked.

“No, I must not speak! I will be punished!”

Dark Link sighed and closed his eyes. He slashed through the creature, splitting it in half. A yell echoed through the hallway, causing Dark Link to turn his head.

“That came from Field Sprite…”

He got up with some effort and ran as fast as he could under the effects of the poison, toward the yell.

Chapter 85 - Swordswoman’s Eternal Rest

The moon was shining right above the high school now. El Make sat in a chair, pondering his discovery about what it was that had attacked him. He wondered if there were more of those things, whatever they were. In a classroom in the complete opposite side of the one El Make was in, Kailyn still lay, as if sleeping, but also subconscious, pondering the offer that was presented to her by the woman.

“I’ll do it. I want to just stay here, forever. I want to forget all my fears and my problems.” Kailyn replied.

The woman with black hair chuckled. “Then your wish shall be granted.”

Kailyn felt a calm feeling wash over her. She didn’t know why, when she had so much troubles. Or did she? She couldn’t remember. Her past was a haze. Everything around her was a haze. She didn’t know whether she was alive or dead. It didn’t much matter to her. She felt at peace. And then she heard a faint yell, which brought her back to her senses somewhat. She thought about her friends. She thought about the Fake Knights. Her thoughts circled around, surrounding her, overwhelming her.

“There’s too much to live for now…” she concluded.

Kailyn opened her eyes. She saw a girl, blurred at first, come into focus. She recognized her as Field Sprite. Field Sprite was grinning, a small flame above her index finger. Kailyn tried to move, but her body wouldn’t respond.

“It’d be no fun if you quit now, right?” the woman’s voice said.

Kailyn’s eyes widened, but she could not move a muscle. She could not even speak. Field Sprite brought her hand down.

Chapter 86 - Say those Words

Field Sprite’s finger was mere inches from Kailyn when it came to an abrupt halt. Holding Field Sprite’s arm was Dark Link.

“Field Sprite… what are you doing?” he asked.

“I’m going to kill her. I won’t allow anyone else to lo-”

Field Sprite grabbed her head and fell to her knees, grimacing.

Dark Link put his hand on her shoulder. “Field Sprite, are you okay?”

Field Sprite shook her head. “I don’t want to tell him!”

Dark Link was about to ask what she didn’t want to tell him, when he dropped to the ground.

“The poison…it’s reacting further. I can’t even move…”

Field Sprite’s eyes turned brown and she kneeled beside Dark Link, a worried look one her face.

“Get out of my head now!” Kailyn commanded the woman.

“What’s wrong? It was you who agreed that you would prefer to lie here forever, rather than face life’s troubles.”

“I’m not dumb. I can see you were doing something to dull my senses. True, I may want to run away from my problems, but I know that it’s impossible. I also know that if I count the good, as well as the bad, it’s not that bad at all. I have skill with a blade and I have friends who would help me through anything. As long as I have those two things, I can keep on going, knowing that I fight for what I believe, and that there are people who fight alongside me.”

“I see, so you still have the will to live. Alright then, I guess you’re useless to me now.”

Kailyn’s sense of calm vanished, replaced by a strange sort of happiness. With some difficulty, she raised herself to a sitting position.

“Field Sprite, I think I know what you’re dealing with, but those feelings aren’t that intense. You’re letting it overcome you. While you have control, fight it off. You have to admit to what’s weighting in your heart.”

[spoiler=Chapter 87]

Chapter 87 - Field Sprite’s Choice

Field Sprite turned to face Kailyn. “What do you mean..?”

Kailyn sighed. “Field Sprite, I know something’s bothering you. You need to admit it to yourself.”

Field Sprite’s eyes turned golden again, and she stood up. “Kailyn, you’re right. There is something bothering me…your existence!”

Field Sprite jumped toward Kailyn, her fist on fire. Kailyn stepped aside and drew her sword. She slashed at Field Sprite with the flat side of her blade. Field Sprite caught the sword with her hand, which was covered in fire, and began to channel the fire through Kailyn’s sword. Kailyn stopped Field Sprite’s flames with her own Storm flames. Field Sprite pointed one of her hands down and flame burst forth from it. She shot upward, all the while holding Kailyn’s sword, and landed behind Kailyn. Field Sprite’s other hand lit on fire, and she jabbed at Kailyn’s back. Kailyn let go of her sword and jumped back to dodge.

“How has Field Sprite gotten this strong?” Kailyn asked herself.

Field Sprite opened the palm of her extended arm, and a blast of fire shot out a Kailyn, who jumped to the side, hiding behind a desk. Field Sprite propelled herself to the roof by shooting out a blast of fire toward the ground, and the kicked off from the roof, also boosted by fire, to get behind Kailyn. Field Sprite kicked off from the ground with a blast of fire and punched Kailyn in the stomach with her flaming fist. Kailyn groaned in pain and fell back, knocking over a desk in the process. Field Sprite walked over to Kailyn, who was in the middle of lifting the desk off of her body.

“You’re weak. You’re unfit to be with Dark Link.” Field Sprite said.

Kailyn managed to push the desk away. “Wait, what do you mean, unfit to be with him? I think there’s been some sort of misunderstanding here…”

Field Sprite shook her head. “No, he said it himself. He wants you…needs you...”

Kailyn blinked incredulously. “Dark Link said that?”

Field Sprite frowned. “You won’t live long enough anyway, so it doesn’t matter. I won’t let you have him. I won’t let you take him away from me…because I love Dark Link!”

“So you’re envious of me. You’re envious because you think Dark Link likes me.”

“Not anymore…” Field Sprite said menacingly as she opened her hand to blast Kailyn with fire.

“Field Sprite, stop this!”

Field Sprite turned to see Dark Link, supporting himself on a desk, attempting to stand up.

“You’re wrong. I never said I loved Kailyn. True, I like Kailyn, but that’s because she’s my friend. I see her like an older sister.”

Field Sprite turned to face him completely, forgetting she was about to finish off Kailyn. Dark Link stepped closer to Field Sprite.

“You’re overcome with envy. You never bothered to ask me how I felt. You simply assumed the worst. That’s not like the Field Sprite I know.”

Field Sprite shook her head, half in guilt, and half in disbelief. “You can’t deny it. I heard you say you needed her, in your sleep…”

By now, Dark Link was already inches from Field Sprite. “I need her…to protect you when I can’t. You and Forest Sprite are all I have. If I lost one of you, I don’t know what I’d do. Why do you think I came all the way here? Why did you think I tracked you down all the way here? Would I do that if I saw you as just a thing to take perverted pictures of?”

Field Sprite was already in tears, on her knees, by the time Dark Link finished talking. Dark Link dropped to his knees more from the poison than to stay level with her. He put his arms around her body, which felt warm and delicate under his hands.

“Never leave me again, you understand? I was worried…” Dark Link muttered in her ear.

Field Sprite opened her eyes, which were now golden. El Make appeared next to Dark Link and grabbed Field Sprite’s arm. Her index finger was outstretched, and there was a small flame hovering millimeters from the tip of it, and it was pointed toward Dark Link, inches from his chest.

“She almost got you. It seems Field Sprite’s will wasn’t strong enough to break free after all. Too bad, I don’t know whether she’ll be okay or not after this…” El Make said.

A dark sphere formed on El Make’s hand, and he hit Field Sprite in the stomach with it. The sphere was absorbed by her body, and for a second, it seemed as if it had worked. And then Field Sprite doubled over and began screaming.

Chapter 88 - Sin Revelation

Field Sprite clenched her teeth, and winced, as if she was in pain.

“Get out of my head!” yelled Field Sprite.

El Make backed away. “Everyone, you should stay back. I have no idea what will happen, now that I used that technique… since the sin already found a host.”

”What do you mean you have no idea what will happen?” Dark Link asked.

“Well, there are several possibilities, as far as I can see. First off, Field Sprite manages to fight off the sin, and it leaves her body. Second scenario, the sin is destroyed while inside her body, but no harm comes to Field Sprite herself. Then there’s the last thing that could happen…the sin is destroyed while inside of Field Sprite…and it destroys her soul…”

Dark Link’s eyes widened. “You’re joking, right?”

El Make shook his head. “No, those three things are what will most likely happen.”

Dark Link grabbed El Make’s collar. “Well, what happens if she dies, huh?”

“She’s not going to die if her soul is destroyed, she’ll just be a shell of a person. Or fairy, whichever one.”

“It doesn’t matter to me! What were you thinking?” Dark Link asked.

“Hey, I saved your life. Shouldn’t you be a bit more grateful?”

“You saved me, but you might have doomed her. I…forget it…”

Dark Link let go of El Make’s collar, and kneeled beside Field Sprite.

“Like I said, being that close to her can be dangerous.” El Make stated.

”I don’t care if it’s dangerous. I just want to try and find some way to help her!”

El Make pondered for a few seconds. “Well, you could always try and help her fight off the sin.”

”Well, how do I do that?” Dark Link asked.

“Well, before anything, you have to know which sin it is. Then you can help that person overcome it.”

Dark Link glanced at Field Sprite, who was shaking on the floor. “So which sin is it?”

Kailyn, who had stood up from the clatter of desks, and was now kneeling beside Dark Link, spoke up. “I think I know. Field Sprite likes you. When she heard you say you wanted me…she became jealous. In other words, she became envious.”

Dark Link gulped. “Envy…the sin that possessed her is envy.”

[spoiler=Chapter 89]

Chapter 89 - Dark Link’s Choice: Field Sprite or Kailyn?

El Make nodded. “I see… well, this would be tough, normally, but it seems Kailyn found out why Field Sprite was envious. Well, this is going to seem awkward, but I need Kailyn to come with me while you try and win over Field Sprite, DL.”

“Huh? First off, who’s DL…? Secondly, what do you mean I have to win her over?”

El Make sighed. “DL as in Dark Link, because saying that name reminds me of this game I used to play. Also, it’s exactly what it is. You have to win her over, you know, get her to fall for you, and be her lover or whatever. Of course, you could always sever her connection to envy by method number two…”

”Well, Dark Link is the name given to me after I completed ninja training. My birth name…that’s not something I’m ready to say. Also… what would method number two be?”

“Simple, all you have to do is kiss Kailyn. You see, that will be like the final blow to the connection. Field Sprite will be sad, of course, since you just kissed someone in front of her, but she won’t be possessed anymore.”

Dark Link’s eyes widened. “Wait, I have to kiss Kailyn? Are you sure there’s no other way?”

El Make sighed again. “Do you not listen or are you just stupid? I just told you that you can try to win Field Sprite over by making her believe you like her.”

Dark Link blinked and shook his head. “Oh, right. Yeah, alright, I’ll try that.”

El Make nodded and formed a dark needle on his hand, which he stabbed Dark Link with.

“Well then, we’ll leave you to your…whatever you’re going to do.” El Make said, as Dark Link fell to the ground.

El Make motioned for a slightly befuddled Kailyn to follow him out of the room. They walked out, leaving Dark Link lying on the ground beside Field Sprite.

Dark Link’s mind faded into nothingness. A moment passed, or more. Then a scene spiraled to existence before his eyes. A room, it seemed. A single bed lay against the wall, and posters of various anime series surrounded the room. Dark Link took a step forward.

“This place…could it be?”

He walked over to one of the posters and pulled on the corner. It slid down to reveal a poster of a young anime girl wearing only a bikini bottom and covering her chest with her arms. A small smile crept into Dark Link’s face.

“This is my old room, before I became a ninja…but why am I here?”

Dark Link turned to the bed, and saw Field Sprite lying there, asleep.

El Make’s voice filled his head. “Now’s the time to wake her up and free her from the sin’s grasp, so go ahead, any physical gesture will do.”

Dark Link stood for a moment, pondering El Make’s words. He nodded and climbed softly onto the bed until his face was inches from Field Sprite. Only blankets covered her body. He inched his face closer to her.

“Field Sprite…I miss you…” he whispered in her ear as he stroked her hair.

Field Sprite’s eyes flickered opened. She looked around dazed until her eyes came into focus on Dark Link’s face, so close to her own. Only a moment passed, and tears began streaming down her face.

“I’m sorry…” she said, through sobs.

Dark Link shook his head. “You have no reason to be sorry. Envy had taken a hold of your heart, you weren’t yourself.”

Field Sprite closed her eyes. “No…I was thinking those thoughts for awhile. I mean, there are so many pretty girls in the Fake Knights, who are closer to your age than me, and who would probably please you more.”

Dark Link kissed Field Sprite on the forehead gently. “Yet you’ll always be more important to me than any of them. You lend me your power to fight, and put yourself in danger every time… I don’t know what I’d do without you or Forest Sprite.

The scenery changed and the moonlit classroom came back into view. Field Sprite put her foot down on Dark Link’s stomach.

“I thought you said I was special to you! What’s Forest Sprite got to do with this?” she asked, a fireball forming in her hand.

“You are special to me, both of you. It’s like a swordsman who doesn’t want his sword to become scratched or broken.”

The fireball in Field Sprite’s hand enlarged. “So I’m just a weapon to you?”

“Well, I didn’t say that, it’s just the fact that I can’t bear to see either of you get hurt.”

The pressure of Field Spite’s foot on Dark Link’s stomach loosed, and Dark Link rolled away and stood up.

“Alright, have you calmed down? Now we can begin searching for Forest Sprite, which is the top priority.”

“So I’m just a minor sideshow, is that it?” Field Sprite yelled as she threw the fireball at Dark Link, who smiled and began weaving together a few hand signs.

“Time to try out this new jutsu I’ve been working on…” he said, smirking.

A cloud of smoke surrounded Dark Link and the fireball disappeared inside it. When the smoke vanished, a girl sat there, wearing a kimono. Her black hair lifted from the floor as she rose. Her dark blue eyes widened as she looked down at what she was wearing. She moved her hand back to feel her hair and shivered as her hands brushed against her smooth hair.

“What did I do…?” she asked herself in a soft female voice.
