See I could jump, but I find that to be weak compared to my Dragoon Tekniques.

Spelling counts.

My Tekniques allow me to use Glyphs summoned at will to control elements easier and increase their power. Also I can control more than one element at once with the Tekniques. The more Glyphs of Pwer for a certain element I use, the more powerful the attack. However My body can't handle more than 5 glyphs at a time.

So you mispelled Tekniques for any particular reason, or...?

Anyway, I already read fairy tail (about 2 volumes worth)

And that IS a good idea nexev, but mind pointing out the THREE memebrs of the FK in it? I only see cree-bozu and you.

EDIT: new chapter added. Anyone see what I did with the title?

You applied.

That counts.

Deal with it, or I'll sic Pigeon Devil Man on you.

Now I'm worried, everyone has so many skills that my character looks weaker.

I need to think up a second skill set to complement my alchemy.

Wait, we can just use that.

Now I can enchant and control metal.

With music.

Particularly a Sax.

Then we can write out my Desperation Tatoo thing since I could tie YCMaker with it. That's a bit Over powerful and I like metal bending more.

[spoiler=Chapter 61]

Chapter 61 - Choice Selection

Dark Link tapped Hikaru on the shoulder. “Hey, what’s this game of choice you’re talking about? I thought we were supposed to fight them.”

Hikaru nodded. “We are going to fight them. The game of choice is simple, you’ll see.”

Kailyn walked forward. “Dark Link, what are you doing with these people? They’re bad news!”

Dark Link glanced at Kailyn, and then looked down. “I figured that much out…” he muttered to himself.

Kailyn turned to Natsu. “Did you know about this?”

Natsu shook his head. “No, I thought they were alone. Is that your friend?”

Kailyn sighed. “What’s wrong with him? Why would he be with those guys?”

Reborn shifted his gaze to Kailyn. “We’ll have to figure it out later, but in the meantime, it seems he and that girl with red hair plan to fight alongside them.”

Kailyn looked at Field Sprite, who was standing behind Dark Link. “Field Sprite is with them too? Just what is going on?”

Hikaru opened his arms. “Enough talk, let the game of Choice… begin!”

Two giant display boards surrounded by flames appeared in front of the school building. There were eight symbols in each, and a zero next to all the symbols.

Hikaru motioned toward the two boards. “For those of you who don’t know, these two boards will tell us who will fight in the game of choice. On the right side, you have the Vongola guardians, and on the left side, we have me, Kazusa, Sekyo, and these two.”

Natsu closed his eyes. “Here it comes…”

When Natsu opened his eyes again, there were still zeros on the board, but on the right side there was also three ones and a two that had replaced three zeroes. On the left side, there were two ones along with a two.

Hikaru looked at the board and chuckled. “According to this, you guys get to choose two people with storm flames, and three others with rain, cloud, and mist. We get two with sky flames, and two others, one with lightning flames, and the other with sun. Now that that’s over with, let’s begin.”

Hayate and Kailyn stepped forward, followed by Kaito, Rin, and Suzuko. Hikaru looked at Kazusa and Sekyo. They stepped forward. He turned to Dark Link and Field Sprite, who followed them.

Hikaru nodded. “Well, now that that’s decided, let the game of Choice begin.”

The people who stepped forward all disappeared.

Natsu glared at Hikaru. “Why aren’t you participating?”

Hikaru chuckled. “Simply because I thought it would be more fun to stay here and see how much you’ve grown, Natsu.”

Hikaru stood up as flames began to appear from the ring around his hand. “Now just try not to die too quickly, huh?”

[spoiler=Chapter 62]

Chapter 62 - Unexplained Reasons

Dark Link looked around. He saw Field Sprite next to him, an odd flame on her chest, and Kazusa and Sekyo standing a few feet from them. He noticed they were inside a building of some sort.

Field Sprite looked at Dark Link. “Are you sure we’re doing the right thing, master?”

Dark Link looked away. “I don’t know. I just don’t know if it’s the right thing or not, but I do know that I have the chance to protect you for a change, and I’m going to take it.”

Field Sprite blushed and looked away. “This doesn’t mean I’ll forgive you for all the perverted stuff you’ve done to me and Forest Sprite…”

Dark Link closed his eyes. “We’ll rescue her, too, but first I have to focus on getting us, getting you, out of this situation.”

Sakyo walked toward Dark Link and Field Sprite. “Alright, see this flame on this girl’s chest? This means she’s the target. The enemy will go after her, and try to eliminate this flame by either beating her to near death or actually killing her. Fortunately, I have a plan. Our target is Rin, the mist guardian. Kazusa will target Rin. She’s a master assassin, so she’ll have no trouble. I will stay here and protect our target. I’m counting on you to take on one of them. I can handle the other two over here in our base. Now go, quickly.”

Dark Link took one last look at Field Sprite and nodded. “Just make sure she’s safe, and I’ll do just fine.”

Dark Link ran out of the building, followed by Kazusa.

Kailyn’s eyes widened. The high school was gone, and around her were concrete walls.

Kailyn turned to Hayate. “Hey, what’s going on here?”

Hayate chuckled. “Well, remember what we taught you about the game of Choice, and you’ll be fine. Now let’s see, our target is that fairy… well, this should be easy, since we’ve got the advantage in numbers. They have to target Rin. Alright, anyone got a plan?”

Kaito scratched his head. “No, I’ve got nothing.”

Rina sighed. “Do I have to do everything? Alright, I’ll stay here with Kaito. Hayate and Kailyn, you guys attack the enemy. Suzuko, you go behind them, so when they engage the enemy, you head straight for their base, and eliminate the sprite as quickly as possible.”

Suzuko nodded and headed out the door.

Hayate looked at Kailyn. “Are you ready?”

Kailyn pondered for a few seconds. “Yeah, I am. Let’s get this over with…”

Kailyn and Hayate ran out of the building, toward the enemy.

Dark Link ran outside, admiring all the tall buildings. They were all around him. He looked to the front again, trying to focus on the mission at hand. Kazusa had already gone her way, planning to sneak up on the enemy.

Dark Link sighed. “She needs to attack the enemy, huh? It seems more like I’m the bad guy, but I have to protect Field Sprite Maybe then she’ll forgive me for the perverted pictures.”

Dark Link noticed that Kailyn was standing a few meters from him, making him stop.

Kailyn looked right at him. “Why are you with them? Why are you even here?”

Dark Link looked away.

Kailyn stepped closer to him. “Tell me, Dark Link, why are you helping these guys?”

Dark Link raised his gaze to meet Kailyn’s. He pulled out his sword.

Kailyn glared at him. “Why are doing this?”

Dark Link dashed for Kailyn, lightning beginning to surround his sword. Kailyn pulled out her own sword and deflected Dark Link’s first slash. A zap of lightning hit Kailyn on the arm.

Dark Link jumped back. “Kailyn, my advice would be to forget that we’ve ever met each other, because I won’t hold back.”

Kailyn looked frustrated. “Can’t you at least tell me why you’re with the bad guys? Is there anything for you to gain here?”

Dark Link nodded. “I don’t have something to gain. I have something to lose.”

Dark Link slashed at Kailyn again, but she jumped back and pulled out a box.

Kailyn pressed the ring on her finger to the box with a closed fist. Flames began to emanate from the ring. They were clear flames with a red center and outline. The box flashed, and where it was, floated a bird with red and orange feathers. The bird squawked and dove for Dark Link. Soon, it was engulfed in flames. Dark Link raised his blade, now covered in lightning, to block. The bird hit the blade, creating numerous sparks. Dark Link’s blade struggled and got knocked aside. The flames surrounding the bird hit Dark Link on the stomach, knocking him back. The bird rose up and more flames sparked from it.

Kailyn ran to Dark Link and pointed her blade to his neck. “Give up, I’ve won.”

Dark Link shook his head. “I won’t be beaten this easily.”

An explosion of smoke surrounded Dark Link. When it cleared, he was gone. Kailyn looked back and saw Dark Link holding a kunai.

Dark Link pointed the kunai at her neck. “It seems I was the one who won. Now just give up, and I won’t have to fight you anymore.”

Kailyn looked at her bird. “Yume, it’s time!”

Yume swooped down and knocked the kunai out of Dark Link’s hand before he could react, making him jump back to avoid getting burned.

Yume landed on Kailyn’s shoulder. “Yume is my phoenix. She can see into people’s emotions. How is it that you’re fighting me, yet you have no desire to fight?”

Dark Link performed a few hand signs, and then thrust his hand near the ground. “You don’t know anything. Since you won’t give up, I guess I have to knock you out.”

Kailyn pulled out another box, and pressed her hand to it. A different flame appeared out of her second ring, and the box flashed. When it cleared, Kailyn was holding a hilt of a sword. Kailyn nodded and Yume exploded. The phoenix’s ashes fell down and gathered at the hilt of the blade, swirling into an ashen blade. Kailyn took a deep breath and unleashed both her flames at once. The ashen blade lit aflame.

Kailyn raised her flaming blade. “I guess I can’t convince you. Fine then, if my voice doesn’t reach you, then my blade will.”

Chapter 63 - The Assassin of the Sky

Kazusa entered the building. With no one around, it had been easy, but she was still weary, since her opponents were a mist guardian and a rain guardian, a swordsman and an illusionist. Kazusa nodded and entered the air duct. It was quite clean, compared to some of the places she’d been in. After a few seconds, she came across an empty room. Kazusa nodded and exited the air duct. She opened the door without a noise. On the other side of the door were Rin and Kaito, looking in the opposite direction. She took out a knife and approached from behind. With one swift move, she stabbed Rin in a vital artery. Rin fell to the ground, bleeding. Kaito turned around, but before he could react, he, too, was stabbed by Kazusa.

Kazusa sighed. “I was expecting this to be at least a little challenging. Too bad, but at least now the Vongola are in better hands.”

Kazusa was about to walk out of the room when everything around her faded. It returned to normal, but Rin was sitting on a chair looking at Kazusa, and Kaito was holding his sword up to Kazusa’s neck.

Rin smiled. “It seems you underestimated us, huh? Come on, these guys may be weak, but I’m on a whole different level. I’m the best illusionist you’ll ever see. Mostly because you’re not going to live long enough to see any others if you don’t give up…”

Kazusa lifted up her arms in surrender. Kaito was about to go behind her to tie her hands up when Kazusa flipped her hand, revealing a knife, and slashed at Kaito, who managed to step back before getting stabbed. Kazusa stepped forward and pressed the tip of her finger to the side of Kaito’s neck, making him lose consciousness.

Rin grinned. “So this is a fight between the two strongest women in the Vongola, huh? This’ll be fun.”

Kazusa pulled out another knife and tossed it at Rin, who stood there as it hit her. She disappeared, and a pillar of fire appeared on top of Kazusa.

Kazusa walked out of the pillar. “You are foolish, Rin. Do you not realize that mere illusions will not work on an elite warrior like me?”

Rin appeared behind Kazusa and stabbed her with a sword.

Kazusa sighed and hit Rin on the side of the face with her hand. “I told you already, your illusions are too weak to beat me. You’re pitiful, really. You think you’re the best of all the Vongola guardians, but in truth, you’re almost as pathetic as the rest of them.”

Rin scowled and took out a box. She pressed her ring to it, and it flashed, leaving Rin with a blue staff.

Rin spun the staff around. “If that’s what you think, then I’ll just have to prove you wrong.”

Icicles formed around Kazusa, and shot toward her. She dodged the icicles easily by jumping. After she dodged all the icicles and landed, the floor exploded beneath her, opening up to a void.

Kazusa sighed as her ring began to light up. “I admit, these seem a bit more real, but now it’s time to show you the true power of the sky flame.”

Chapter 64 - Second Full Moon of the Month

Major Tim growled at Dark Magician Girl. “So you’re awake, little vampire…”

Dark Magician Girl formed a ball of Hellfire in her hand. “Well, your racket woke me up, and since everyone else was busy, and you seem to have taken a liking to bullying little kids, I decided to come by and stop you.”

Major Tim snarled. “Bring it on, vampire.”

Dark Magician Girl launched the Hellfire ball at Major Tim. He rolled to the side. When he got up, Dark Magician Girl was already running toward him. He jumped up and slammed the ground with his fist on the way down. A fissure headed straight for Dark Magician Girl, who jumped away from it. Hellfire engulfed her hands. She ran toward Major Tim. He swiped at her, but she blocked it with her forearm, wounding her. Dark Magician Girl knocked Major Tim’s arm aside, causing him to lose balance, and punched him in the stomach, causing a second degree burn. Major Tim stepped back with one foot as he kicked at Dark Magician Girl with the other. Dark Magician Girl jumped back and a sword of Hellfire formed in her hands. She appeared behind Major Tim and slashed at him. He turned around and grabbed the sword, burning his hand. He held on and punched Dark Magician Girl in the face with his free hand. She spiraled through the air and landed on her feet, rubbing her face. Dark Magician Girl put her hands in front of her, and black energy shot out at Major Tim. He dashed to the side to avoid it, but the black energy followed him and hit him on the side.

Dark Magician Girl raised her hands. “This is a waste of time…”

A red sphere formed in the sky, high above the clouds.

Dark Magician Girl closed her eyes. “Blood Red full moon…”

The sphere began to shine, giving off an eerie red glow. Dark Magician Girl opened her eyes, which were shining red. She raised one hand, and black energy, along with white energy and Hellfire, began swirling around. She took her other hand and bit her thumb, making a drop of blood appear on her finger. Dark Magician Girl held out her hand and the drop of blood fell on her other hand. The blood began to swirl around, melding the two swirling energies together with the Hellfire. The mix of energies shot forth in the form of a sphere toward Major Tim.

Major Tim growled. “Let’s see what you’ve got…”

He brought his arm back, and energy began to swirl around it. The sphere approached at high speeds.

Major Tim brought his fist forward. “Werewolf Fang Fist!”

Major Tim’s fist collided with the sphere. The sphere exploded, sending Major Tim spiraling for a few dozen yards. Dark Magician Girl sighed, and was about to turn around when she saw the three blades of energy flying at her. She raised her arms to block, but she was too weak from her fight to put a barrier, and the blades of energy hit her head on, creating gashes, one on each of her arms and one on her stomach.

Dark Magician Girl groaned in pain. “He had that much power? He wasn’t just all talk. I wonder how the others are doing.”

Dark Magician Girl sat down. “Well, I’m too drained to help them anymore, so all I can do is wish them luck…”

Chapter 65 - Niishoku Anake

Chase swung his scythe down to dislodge it from X-31 Fighter’s blade. X-31 Fighter placed hit boot against the scythe and pushed himself away from Chase. Chase swung his scythe, creating a large energy wave.

X’31 Fighter raised his blade. “First form…”

He appeared behind the energy wave, and it dissipated. Chase dashed up to X-31 Fighter and punched at him. X-31 Fighter used the flat side of his blade to block the punch, and then kicked at Chase, who jumped up to dodge.

Chase raised his hand in front of him. “This should finish it.”

A blast of fire shot out from his palm.

X-31 Fighter raised his blade. “Second form…”

He appeared behind Chase. Fire stopped blasting out from Chase’s hand. Chase landed on the floor, looking at his hands.

X-31 Fighter shook his head. “It’s no use. My second form has taken care of your energy.”

Chase turned around. “Oh, is that so? Well then, I’ll just have to show you how much energy I really have…”

Grey wings sprouted from Chase’s back, and a weapon appeared in his hand. The weapon was four large blades attacked to a hilt which Chase held in his hand.

Chase held out the weapon. “My weapon, Niishoku Anake, and I will finish you off…”

One of the four blades shot out of Niishoku Anake, attached to the hilt by a chain. X-31 Fighter deflected it with his blade as another one of Niishoku Anake’s blades flew toward him. The other two blades followed. X-31 Fighter deflected the second blade, and dodged the third. When he was about to deflect the fourth, he noticed that one of the blade’s chains was wrapped around his arm. He switched his blade to his other hand and repelled the fourth blade just before it hit him.

X-31 Fighter used his blade to cut the chain around his arm. “I admit, your weapon is interesting, but as you’ve seen, it’s nothing I can’t easily deal with.”

Chase chuckled. “I’m afraid you haven’t even seen half of what Niishoku Anake can do. Let’s see how you deal with Niishoku Anake’s Eclipse Storm.”

Niishoku Anake’s blades separated from the chains, and split into a million smaller versions of the four blades.

Chase grinned. “Good luck dodging these…”

[spoiler=Chapter 66]

Chapter 66 - Perfect Swordsman

The blades flew at X-31 Fighter, some vanishing and reappearing somewhere else. X-31 Fighter used swift, measured swings to fight off the blades. A blade teleported behind him, and he turned around and whacked it away. More came from both sides, and he spun his blade around once, knocking them aside. Two more came from the front, and he sidestepped one while blocking the other. Ten appeared around him. They flew at him, but he just stood there with his eyes closed.

X-31 Fighter opened his eyes. “Perfect defense form…”

His blade began knocking aside all blades that came within a certain point without hesitation. Any blade that got within a few feet of X-31 Fighter was blocked. One appeared right in front of him, but his blade knocked it aside as soon as it was about to touch him.

Chase flew into the air. “I can’t believe this, the guy’s actually fighting off a million blades…”

Several blades came together again and connected to the hilt again. A single blade of Niishoku Anake was reformed.

Chase pointed the blade toward X-31 Fighter. “Time to try the Eclipse Cannon…”

A ball of black energy began building up on the tip of the blade. It shot a dark blast straight at X-31 Fighter.

X-31 Fighter pointed his blade at the beam. “Third form…”

A blast of energy shot out from the tip of his sword, headed on a collision course with Chase’s Eclipse Cannon. The two blasts collided, but the Eclipse Cannon was nullified almost as soon as it touched X-31 Fighter’s blast. The blast hit Chase, making him land on the ground. His wings receded, and he hunched over.

X-31 Fighter walked over to Chase. “I told you, it’s useless to go against me. After our raid on your ship, and my defeat at the hands of those two swordsmen, I trained hard in the sword style my master passed on to me. The Shishiwa Kuroshin style is the strongest…”

Chase glared up at him. “So you think you’ve won? Well then, I’ll just show you how mistaken you are…”

Chase appeared in the sky, a dark aura surrounding him. He held his scythe high in the sky. He brought it down with a wide slash, and a huge blast of energy shot down toward X-31 Fighter.

X-31 Fighter sighed and raised his blade. “Fourth form…”

He appeared behind Chase, making his dark aura compress around his body in an instant. Hundreds of small cuts to appeared on Chase’s body.

X-31 Fighter sheathed his sword. “There, now I’ve compressed your energy within you. You’ve imploded, and there’s no use fighting anymore, because all of your organs must be in critical condition.”

Chase fell to the ground. X-31 Fighter landed, and began walking away. A glowing white aura began to surround Chase. He slowly stood up. White wings grew from his back, and a tattered robe the same color as his wings covered his body. He held a sword made entirely of white energy.

Chase pointed the sword at X-31 Fighter. “I can’t believe I had to go into my Light form. It’s time for you to see exactly what you’re dealing with.”

A blast of white fire burst from his sword. X-31 Fighter raised his sword and a blast of energy burst forth from it. The white fire and blast of energy collided, and were evenly matched.

X-31 Fighter’s eyes widened. “How could any energy blast stand up to my Third form? It’s impossible…”

The two blasts exploded. Chase appeared behind X-31 Fighter and swung his shining sword at him. X-31 Fighter spun around and blocked the slash with his own blade. Chase extended his other hand and a blast of white fire streamed out of it. X-31 Fighter let go of his blade and rolled to the side to avoid getting burned. Chase appeared behind him again and swung his sword straight down.

X-31 Fighter clenched his teeth. “I didn’t want to have to do this. Nor did I expect I would have to…”

He pressed his index finger to his forehead, and his fingertip began to glow. A red mark like a cross appeared on his forehead. A thin sword of energy appeared on his hand. He brought his sword up and blocked Chase’s slash. X-31 Fighter pushed his sword up, knocking Chase aside. He jumped toward Chase and swung his sword at him. Chase clashed blades with X-31 Fighter. Their swords created sparks of white fire.

X-31 Fighter closed his eyes. “Perfect offense form…”

Deep gashes appeared on Chase’s limbs and stomach. He coughed up blood and dropped his sword. He dropped to the ground.

[spoiler=Chapter 67]

Chapter 67 - The Curse

X-31 Fighter shook his head. “Now do you finally see? You cannot beat me. In fact, you cannot even injure me…”

Chase looked up weakly. “For the last time, you’re not going to win…because I have one last trump card to play.”

Chase bit his lip, causing a drop of blood to fall.

More blood began pouring out of the small wound. The blood began to cover Chase’s whole body in red markings. The markings began glowing crimson. His pupils disappeared, and his eyes began to also glow red. Chase slowly stood up. His tattered white robe was shaking wildly from right to left, even though there was no wind. His white wings were replaced with wings made of red energy. His white sword turned crimson and began shaking. A few moments passed, and the sword shattered.

Chase shifted his gaze to X-31 Fighter. “You’re about to see my true power…”

In the blink of an eye, he appeared behind X-31 Fighter, who spun around and raised his sword to block an instant before getting kicked. He stepped back a few paces, trying to regain his balance. Chase appeared in front of him and punched at him, and X-31 Fighter angled his blade to block. Before Chase’s hand made contact with the blade, Chase disappeared and appeared behind X-31 Fighter, then kicked him in the back, boosting himself into the air at the same time. As X-31 Fighter was flying through the air, Chase raised his hands toward him and released a blast of crimson fire in his direction. The fire hit X-31 Fighter, incinerating his armor and burning his body. X-31 Fighter fell to the ground, several burns throughout his body. He was unconscious.

Chase shook his head. “Darn it, why’d you have to be this strong? Now I had to use this…”

Chase took a deep breath and closed his eyes. His wings began to recede, and the glow in his eyes diminished.

Suddenly, Chase gripped his head and fell to his knees. “Ah… darn it…”

Chase fell to the floor, still clutching his head. A few moments passed, and Chase finally opened his eyes. His pupils were back, and his eyes had stopped glowing. His red energy wings disappeared. He sighed in relief and closed his eyes.

Chapter 68 - I’ll do whatever it takes…

Lightning began forming in Dark Link’s hand. He ran at Kailyn while holding his arm back. Kailyn angled her blade toward Dark Link and dashed toward him. Kailyn slashed at Dark Link. Dark Link looked Kailyn right in the eyes. His eyes were different from the time when he had fought Snake Boy. The shape of the black symbol inside his red pupil was more complex. Kailyn’ eyes widened and she missed a step, making her almost trip, and causing her swing to miss. Dark Link took advantage of that and ducked. He jabbed her in the stomach with his Chidori. Kailyn groaned and dropped her sword, which clattered to the ground and stopped burning.

Kailyn gripped Dark Link’s arm. “I’m not going to lose so easily…”

Dark Link closed his eyes and twisted his arm, making the lightning current spread throughout Kailyn’s body. She flinched as he pushed forward, and she was knocked off her feet, landing a few feet from him.

Dark Link walked toward his sword and picked it up. “I didn’t want to fight you either... but now I have to go protect Field Sprite…”

He sheathed his sword. “Wait… should I go back to make sure Field Sprite is okay, or should I help Kazusa complete the mission…?”

Sekyo looked out the window. He saw Hayate and Suzuko approaching. He closed the book he was reading and stood up from his chair.

Sekyo looked at Field Sprite, who was sitting in the corner. “They’re here.”

Field Sprite nodded and followed Sekyo toward the doorway. He motioned for her to stand by the doorway while he walked out to meet Hayate and Suzuko. Field Sprite nodded and pressed her back against the wall next to the door. Sekyo turned the doorknob and walked out of the building. He was met with Hayate and Suzuko, who both had box weapons out.

Hayate got in a fighting stance. “Alright, step aside and we won’t have to hurt you, Sekyo.”

Sekyo sighed. “Do you really think you can beat me? I know all of your fighting skills, Gokudera. I know Suzuko’s, too…”

Hayate glanced at Suzuko. “I guess he won’t step aside, so let’s go with that plan.”

Suzuko nodded. “Sure, just don’t get in my way.”

Suzuko dashed for Sekyo. Hayate took out some dynamite from his jacket and ran toward Sekyo. Sekyo sighed and pulled out a box and pressed his ring toward it. The box flashed open, revealing a black book. The cover was full of intricate designs. Sekyo flipped the book open to the first page. Hayate tossed his dynamite at Sekyo, who tossed his book at the dynamite. The book grew in size until it was more like a wall and the dynamite collided with it. The book shrunk to its original size and returned to Sekyo. He closed the book as Suzuko reached him and took out his two tonfa. Suzuko swung at Sekyo, who blocked it with the spine of his book. Suzuko swung his other tonfa at him, but Sekyo ducked and spun his book around and opened it around Suzuko’s arm. Sekyo pressed his ring against the book’s spine and a blast of fire shot out of the book, burning Suzuko’s arm, making fall back clutching his arm. Hayate tossed dynamite at Sekyo from behind. Before reaching Sekyo, the dynamite exploded in midair. Hayate looked at the doorway and saw Field Sprite holding her hand up.

“How did you do that?” he asked Field Sprite.

Sekyo pushed his glasses up. “Don’t tell me you can’t tell. Remember the Sun flame’s activation attribute? It caused your dynamite to explode beforehand.”

Field Sprite nodded. “So now it’s two against one. I suggest you give up.”

Hayate chuckled. “Two against one, you say?”

Suzuko appeared behind Field Sprite, holding a tonfa in his left hand. He swung at her.

Chapter 69 - A Ninja Never Breaks a Promise

Field Sprite winced. The blow never came. Field Sprite slowly looked up to see Dark Link blocking the tonfa with his sword.

Field Sprite’s eyes widened. “You saved me…”

Dark Link took Field Sprite’s hand with his free hand. “I told you I was going to protect you. Ninjas don’t break promises.”

A red light surrounded both Dark Link and Field Sprite. When it cleared, Field Sprite was gone, and Dark Link’s hair was red. He opened his eyes, whose color matched his hair, and grinned. He pushed up with his sword, knocking Suzuko off of their deadlock. Suzuko regained balance and charged at him. Dark Link swung at him, but Suzuko blocked it with his tonfa. Dark Link let go of his sword. He grabbed a kunai and spun around once, dodging Suzuko’s tonfa. He jumped up and tossed the kunai at Suzuko. The kunai lit ablaze and Suzuko had to sidestep to avoid it.

Dark Link appeared behind Suzuko, holding a kunai to his back. “Looks like I win.”

Sekyo turned to Dark Link. “Think you can take on both of these guys at once?”

Dark Link nodded. “Of course I can, and I know you want to help Kazusa, so go. I won’t have much trouble here.”

Sekyo pushed his glasses up and opened his book to the third page. It grew in size and he jumped on it. The book took flight and he went speeding toward Kazusa’s location.

Hayate looked at Dark Link. “You really think you can take us on by yourself?”

Dark Link chuckled. “You think I’m alone? If so, then you’re dead wrong.”

Hayate tossed a stick of dynamite at Dark Link. Suzuko jumped back from Dark Link’s kunai. Dark Link tossed the kunai at the dynamite, making it explode. Dark Link ran out of the smoke, holding his sword. He slashed at Hayate, who stepped back just in time to dodge the slash, but the lightning radiating from the sword hit him. Suzuko ran at Dark Link and swung at him. Dark Link ducked and swiped Suzuko of his feet with a kick. Dark Link jumped up and performed a few hand signs. He inhaled and shot out a large fireball at Hayate. Hayate increased the density of his storm flame. The fireball hit Hayate’s storm aura and dissolved, creating smoke.

Dark Link appeared through the smoke. “If my fireball jutsu won’t work, then try my Chidori!”

Dark Link held out his hand and the lightning sphere collided with Hayate’s storm aura, creating sparks. The lightning began to give way. Dark Link clenched his teeth and pushed harder. He broke through the aura and nailed Hayate in the stomach with his Chidori. Hayate coughed up blood and was thrown off his feet. Dark Link landed on the floor and rolled to avoid harm. He stood up, panting, and saw Suzuko running toward him.

Dark Link groaned. “I wasted too much energy fighting Kailyn, I guess.”
