Dreaming at the Edge of Death [Fallout 3 / Advanced / Accepting / Not-Started PG-16]

[spoiler=Story/Plot]The Edge of Death, not a very inviting name for a city. However the Edge is anything but inviting. The city once known as Vancouver now lay decimated in ruins; as for it's inhabitants, well let's save that for later because to understand the inhabitants you must for know the name.

 

80 years ago, in Vancouver Canada. A tour spot that was visited by countless people as the hot-spot for celebrities, parties, entertainments, TV specials, beaches, and beautiful weather and quickly rising to becoming the most culturally diverse local in the World. Until that day.

 

That day is simply known by any and all who have survived it as "The day of Cicadas." It is unknown as to who exactly started it, and who fired back, who was involved, or even why it was done. All that was known is that bombs the size of trucks polluted the sky from every reaches of the globe. The sound of 100's of Nuclear bombs falling was akin to the sound of dozens of cicadas singing.

 

Now fast forward 80 years to the year 20xx we are now back in Vancouver, or rather the Edge. Darkly green and black clouds fill up the sky almost never moving from it's original spot as it rains down small particles of ashes. What was once large booming towers were now reverted to small huts made from scrap metal that littered the now desolate flatlands. On the east laid the ocean or 'The End'. A dark deep black, brown, green, and red. It reeks of smells unlike no other. On the opposite side lays 'The Beginning'. A large white thick cloud that never moves and never leaves stretching to the equally lifeless clouds.

 

As for the inhabitants, they still contain the same diversity that The Ed-Vancouver was known for. There excitement and will to live however is left to be admired. The population of roughly 100 live everyday hoping that there life would turn around. As for the rest who do not wish to wait, they visit 'The End.' As they jump into the water or spend there last moments on the beach with the ones they love slowly dying from the extremely acidic water that enveloped the air.

 

What a terrible way for humanity to die, isn't it. Until now. The Beginning the symbolism of God's boundary to keep away from all the terrible things that is out there. Occasionally rats, giant ants, and other stranger creatures would come through that fog. Everyone knew that these creatures were tainted, and most believed by the fog; but people never complained. These creatures is what kept them alive but at one time they were surprised to see a man stumble across the fog, collapsing on the floor. What people thought was a place no man must pass has just been defied right infront of them. Once the man woke up, he told stories of life, cities, and other extravagant stories of the things that was considered myth. The man was claimed delusional by most of the senior members of the town.

 

Yet, this senile man is what sparked the revolution of the new generation to do what no man should do. Step into the beginning.

 

What will they find? Was the man truly delusional, or was it truth. Only time will tell and it is all up to you.

This roleplay uses the S.P.E.C.I.A.L stats assignment system in Fallout 3. If you are unfamiliar the following read below.

 

S is for Strength, and that means I am strong! I can carry lots of toys and swing stuff all day long!

P is for Perception, a long funny word! It means what I tasted, smell, saw and heard!

E is for Endurance, and that's how long I can play! I'm always really healthy, and have energy all day!

C is for Charisma, it's why people think I'm great! I make my friends all laugh and smile, and never want to hate!

I is for Intelligence, it means I'm really smart! I use my brain for lots of stuff, like science, math and art!

A is for Agility, that's how I get around! I move real fast and easy, and I never make a sound!

L is for Life, and it's simple, you see! It means how much you believe!

 

Strength = how strong you are with melee weapons and fists how much you can lift/carry/push/pull, and plays a small part of endurance.

P = How far you can see, how quick you can notice or distinguish something in the background or area, basically keen use of senses.

E = Deals with how much pain you can take, a man with high endurance is more likely to take more shots than a guy with no endurance before falling down, also deals with how long you can do something before getting tired.

C = How good you are with people or conversation, be it for good or bad.

I = How smart you are, and your ability to think outside of the box, also deals a little bit of agility as to how quickly you can think of something on the spot.

A = How fast and agile you are and how quickly you can think of something on the spot.

L = Similar to Endurance, but it's your will power. How much you want to live.

33 points remaining.

 

You get a total of 40 points to distribute between all the stats. The minimum is 1 and the maximum is 10. What is the whole point of stats? It is a fallback for when people are fighting. If people are in stalemate posting the same *dodge* and *shoot* command over and over. Obviously the man with more agility and perception is going to do better. Of course this can always be rebutted by posting with your strengths. If you have high INT and low END/STR while the enemy has the opposite. You are not going to Rambo and run out with machine guns. You're going to try to out smart him.

 

[spoiler=Mutation]

Ghouls:You have ghastly appearance and have the appearance similar to that of a zombie. You also tend to have raspy voices, and are usually the butt of racial jokes from prejudice people. Despite your appearance you tend to have abilities made for surviving in this world. (anything with a green G after it, Ghouls automatically have.)

 

Iron Stomach: You are less likely to have food poisoning from eating contaminated food, no matter how terrible. -G

 

Radioactivity tolerance: You do not need to avoid radioactivity as they do not affect you much negatively. -G

 

Reinforced ___ You have a body part or system in your body that can take a large beating or most damage than most, sometimes even surviving completely without it for a period of time.

 

Living Filter: Your throat is capable of filtering most toxics from the air.

 

Rapid regeneration: Your wounds heal quicker than usual and fatal or serious injuries aren't as bad.[/b] -G

 

30/30 Vision: You can see through thick clouds/fogs/smoke and through general darkness much better than most people.
