All characters names used in this fan fiction also belong to Capcom.
Chapter One: Thrice the Evil Seed is Renewed] Japan, Mid Day. . . A foreign wind swept through the land, moving the mighty land slowly but surely. The most calm cold of winter gave even the mightiest warriors a shiver, but the fire of their battling spirits roared tremendously still. One red, and one white, each holding symbols of courage with them at all times; and a bandanna too. The memories of Master Gouken's wise words still lingered on their ears, even as they rested for many a year past Bison's defeat. "It's that time of year again," spoke the eldest of the two friends. You would think this brown haired, blue-eyed, and muscular fellow would find a bear's skin to keep himself warm, but apparently, his spirit was enough to heat the homes of a million men. "Yeah, I suppose you're right. If I ever wanna get my vacation started, I should get moving now." The youngest of the two returned friendly conversation. His golden blond hair and his scarlet red eyes matched perfectly with his red tunic and leggings. He wasn't as muscular as his older companion, but he was equally strong. He gazed upon the horizon, where his vacation awaited him. "Go on Ken. Dan and I can hold the village on our own. Besides, there's not been an evil for seven years now. There is only good fortune to come," he said smiling. Locking fists, Ken nodded as he tightened the bandanna around his forehead. "Thanks Ryu. I suppose I'll head off tonight. I may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of the Chinese Firefly this night." Silently he began to stroll away, into the sunset. "That's only if you're lucky! Capture one and I'll have a gift for you!" Ryu called. Ken waved two fingers back to his comrade as his bright red clothing perfectly blended with the bloodshot sun and sky. Seven Weeks Later. Japan, Late Night. . . A loud roar screeched from the central village. Civilians fled away with panicked faces and tattered bodies and clothing. The scent of burning wood and singed metals caught Ryu's attention on his walk home, from the Cavern Waterfalls. "A fire!" He sprinted rapidly into the village, where a gambling companion, who's cocky spirit and fruitfully colored garments stood apart even from the gigantic flames. "Dan! How did this happen?" Dan was normally smiling, even on the darkest of events. But this night, he could only frown upon the burning Chapel. "It's nothing serious, I don't believe. I've already gotten everyone out. But Ryu," he said, his voice growing more quiet. "I saw something while I was inside. An eye. His eye. I know it anywhere," spoke the evening's savior. "You are referring to Bison? No. His body lay resting beneath the waterfall. I see his grave twice every morn and evening." But Dan would hear nothing of this. "Gouken spoke of this, Ryu. 'Thrice the Seed of Evil Shall Be Planted. And on this third harvest, a bringer of absolute doom shall devour all lands, and no savior shall bring his end.' Bison is alive." As though the sounding of an alarm triggered this event, a dark cackle sounded behind them, and the fire before them spread outwards, giving shape to a man's body. "Heaven's Descent? But, Bison does not wear these garments. Who is that?" Ryu wondered aloud, reading the symbol amongst the man's back.
Chapter Two: Defining the Greatest Evil] Ryu and Dan were glaring heavily into the flames attempting to identify the owner of the untouched garments forming a man's body. It glared over it's shoulder, and a glance of absolute terror struck Ryu, and forced him to his knees, before he knew what was happening. Dan could only follow suit as the man glared at him as well. "Who is that? Surely you know, Ryu?" But Ryu could not answer, for he was stricken with fear, and cold. Only flashbacks run through his mind at that time. Japan, Seven Years Ago. Late Night. . . . "What are you doing?! I've given you this martial art to protect and fight for honor! These deadly arts are not meant for war! You will bring about so much destruction! You cannot do this!" uttered the old man. He was lying on the ground, his hand reaching out for a man before him. He was beaten, badly scarred, and bleeding profusely about the area. This defeated old man was known as Gouken. Once the most powerful martial artist in all of Japan, he had been crushed by his own student. "You define now my ultimate goal. To bring all who stand before me to their knees, as I reach for the heavens, and drag them to mine own control. I shall be the strongest who has ever lived, no matter what it takes," he said as he turned away from Gouken. Gouken could not help but utter a cry to try and stop this man. Now he could do nothing but weep, as his student approached. "Sleep Master Gouken, and never awaken." An open palm was in Gouken's eye, and moments later his skull crushed, and his body limp. As the stranger left, a child hid quietly behind several rickety wooden crates, as he watched his Sensei die before him. . . Japan, Present Day. Late Night Resumed. . . The man before Dan and Ryu had vanished as Ryu "daydreamed" away. Dan was shaking him rapidly, trying to get answers. "Ryu! What are you thinking about?" he yelled. Ryu stammered before realizing he was back in the real world. "I-it's nothing. I just thought that may have been--" Dan snatched Ryu to his feet. "You can think about it later. But right now, we have to warn the Police Force. And you're the only one who can get close to Chun-Li," Dan said in his most manly voice. "She's still in the infirmary after that little incident with Balrog breaking out of prison. Pay her a visit, and we'll go after Hot Head later." Ryu nodded as he turned to the rising sun, which caught his eye. He couldn't help but smile despite the brief darkness which engulfed him seconds ago. "I suppose I could look on the bright side. I get to work with my two favorite ladies again. Sakura, and Chun-Li." Dan laughed heartily as he pushed Ryu off towards his destination. What he didn't expect, was to be followed by an old enemy. One who's fists were legendary, and his powers nearly unmatched. He watched carefully atop the roofs of other sun scorched buildings, eying Ryu from a distance. A gargled laughter escaped the stalker, as Ryu headed away. Meanwhile, Dan had other plans. He hurried in the opposite direction to a local study center. There he found thousands upon thousands of books, which would feed the little intellect he had. "Didn't Ryu say something about Heaven's Descent?" he wondered aloud. Right on cue, a book fell into his hands from above his head, nearly knocking him unconscious. "What-- oh it's you." Above him, a tall, blond haired female with obnoxiously large breasts mesmerized him. "How've you been Charlotte?" he asked, drooling. She scoffed and gave him the cold shoulder. "I've been looking for someone to keep warm at night, someone's who not afraid of a little book knowledge, and a fighter as well. You're missing something Dan. But because I saw you here, I figured you may have a chance after all," she said smiling. Her brown eyes matched her redish complexion brilliantly. She was about six feet tall, and she could force Dan to blush, just by walking away. "When you're able to keep up with me, I may consider allowing you to court me," she said proudly. Dan chuckled at her sly remark. "Sorry, sweetheart. But when it comes to the lives of the innocent, I have more to worry about than letting my ego get the best of me. But thanks for the book. It could shed a little light on this confused mind of mine." But she was gone. She had vanished in the middle of daylight before everyone. Japan, Tokyo Infirmary. Doctors scrambled in and out of doorways, frantically attempting to adhere to other patients. Ryu had only just found his target, and was approaching her rapidly. Fortunately, she was being discharged at the time, and preparing to leave. "Chun-Li!" Ryu called. She bolted around, and her face began to glow like the sun. But just as this happy reunion was taking place, Ryu's stalker had caught up to him. A loud crash came from the southern walls of the infirmary, and large slashes of bright golden light caught Ryu's attention. Chun-Li could only sigh, and wonder, "Why me?"
Chapter Three: Tiger Paw! - Part 1]A dark, gurgling chuckle echoed through the infirmary, past the screaming. Before the villain approached, Ryu could tell instantly who it was. His shining bald head, and dark tattoos differed from previous encounters. His hands still bandaged, and his chest now covered in a dark metallic plate. He smiled devilishly, as he called out, "Oh Ryuuuuuu~" in his most manly singing voice. Though it sounded more like screeching, it was even creepier than him speaking naturally. Chun-Li grasped her crutches tightly as she glared through the clearing smoke, at the approaching fiend. She couldn't help but gasp, realizing his identity, and yelling it away. "Sagat?! You were buried with Bison! What's going on?!" Ryu stood in front of Chun-Li, bracing himself. "I'll explain everything, after I deal with our old friend," he declared proudly. Tightening his bandanna, he rushed in with a strong kick, pushing his foe outside, through the "entrance" he created. Unfortunately, Sagat was ready, catching Ryu in the air, and more prepared than ever. "You haven't changed a bit, my feeble minded friend. And to think you actually had the power to defeat me once before? Ha! It won't happen again," Sagat snarled. Tossing Ryu to the ground, he pounded his chest, and aimed a fist at Ryu's head. "Get up. If you want a chance to redeem your pride," he continued. Ryu got to his feet almost immediately, smiling. Sagat didn't hesitate to wonder what was so funny, raising an eyebrow. "I don't fight for my pride, I fight for my honor. And if you think you can get past my honor, you're going to lose more quickly than before." Placing his palms together, he felt the air tightening under them, forming a thick, energy thriving orb. Sagat's eyes signaled that he was all to familiar with this technique. "Hadouken!" Ryu called out. Sagat was again ready, as he leaped high over the attack, and came down with a foot of thunder. He screeched to a halt beside Ryu, and glared him in the eye. "Try harder if you want to win," Sagat said picking the shocked Ryu up by the throat. Sending pulses of electricity into Ryu's body now, through his own fist, Sagat's body began to whir mechanically. "Mecha - Tiger Paw!" But as Ryu thought he would be blasted into the ground below, he heard the sudden crash of the infirmary. Sagat had nearly leveled the building. "I'll leave you with a message. Give us the Sphere, or I'll do a lot more than take the lives of a few dying fools. Next time, I'll start with that favorite lady of yours." Sagat tossed Ryu to the ground again, and began to stroll away. . . Comments appreciated. --DP
