RPing Time: 3 Years in different places
I was just sitting on a tree minding my buisness listening to the morning birds chirp there songs, looking at the horizon as a new day begins another one dies, each day we get closer to death. Why, why do we celebrate what we call Birthdays it is just but a year closer to death and pain for our fellow family, our friends, our loves, and our world. I felt the world closing on me today when I realized this. I ponder to myself what do we see in our so called "afterlife" do we dream endlessly? Do we see nothing but a black void of darkness? Do we ascend to the clouds we call Heaven? Or do we become a new person a new boy a new girl a new life ahead of us? Did you ever question theese things? I have, and every day time ticks and every year we are a few decades to death. So, I conclude that Time takes Life, Life is boring so get out there and have the time of your life.

A letter arrives at your door, landing with a soft flap. You open it:
13/3/2033

Dear __________,

You have been invited to a relic hunt. You and several others, I should say. Your goal (should you choose to accept the challenge): Find the ancient Haklion Temple hidden somewhere in the city of Harighnash.

Now, the question that I know is lingering on your mind: What's in it for me?

Treasure.

All the treasure one could possibly imagine, and much more. The finder's fee alone could purchase a small island. Gold, jewels, ancient knowledge, more than one could think possible.

There is one catch, however.

There are more than just you. And they want the treasure just as badly as you do (and I know you do).

Enclosed in this envelope is one of the Pieces of Regehlak, the ancient god of the Haklion people. Only the one who collects all of the Pieces may be granted entry into the Temple: and no other. But the Pieces may only be obtained from another by way of a Duel. (The Haklions managed to harness the power of the Shadows, as the Egyptians had many hundreds of years afterward.)

If you are interested, I hope to see you in Harighnash in a week's time. (An airline ticket has also been enclosed.

If you do not wish to be a part of the hunt, I understand completely. Simply send your Piece by return mail (and I will know if you don't.)

Sincerely,

Julien Nakonen

Entrepreneur
Name: Julien Nakonen

Gender: Male

Age: 37

Bio: A young entreprenuer from America. When he was vacationing in Haklionia, he chanced upon the rumour of the Haklion Temple and found the Pieces of Regehlak. Following the instructions left on the tablet they were found near, he sent them to those found "worthy", that is to say, those who had won duel tournaments in the past. Now, no one quite knows where he is, or what he's doing. The only communication that is known are the letters sent to the chosen.

Appearance: The last known photograph of him shows a thinnish man, mid thirties, six foot one, weighing about 155 pounds. His light brown hair sticks out under his fedora hat. He's wearing a fancy-looking suit, black, as if it had just come back from the cleaners. His shoes are very well-polished. He must pay very well for them to be so.

An actual character will be posted on the actual RP. But let's just say we've not seen the last of Julien yet...

What do y'all think?

Interesting plot.

However' date=' it'll be a tad bit dull with either normal or custom Yu-Gi-Oh cards. Find some kind of game mechanic and toss it in the bowl.

[/quote']

Should the Pieces do something? Or what other "game mechanics" could CFOB think of?

Maybe the pieces contains a demon souls that can only be awakened by a pure heart. You can fuse pieces together to make a stronger soul. When all the pieces are assembled, guess.

Account Name: Deucalion

RPing Time: Here at YCM, or generally? At YCM, probably around a month in total, I'm not particularly active. Out in the big wide internet? At least four years.

Sample Post:

Eyelids encrusted with a slimy mucus slowly opened, revealing a pallid, pale blue iris, which immediately contracted as the dim, artificial light reached it. A brief, drawn out hiss of pain sounded, and the eyelids shut again. The creature began to sit up, weak, partially atrophied muscles struggling to pull the limp frame upwards. Another hiss of pain as a bony hand scrapped across a piece of broken glass on the floor, spattering a few drops of blood. Eventually, the creature achieved kneeling position, panting from exertion as it did so. It was wiser than to stand up.

It looked around. The (colour #00CC00 "green")(electromagnetic spectrum 380-750 nanometres "light") shone from a strange (substance composed of silicon;oxygen;carbon "glass")(three dimensional cylindrical polygon "tube"), embedded in a (artificial mechanism "machine"). It appeared to be broken, with (power conduits "wires") severed and emitting (electrostatic interference "sparks"), and the "glass" "tube" mostly shattered, with pieces scattered on the (plane closest to gravitational field centre "floor").

The creature knew it was machine, but the creature didn't know what a machine was. It knew there was glass on the floor, and that the glass had drawn its blood, but it didn't know what glass was. Or blood. It knew that light existed as tiny particles named photons and exhibited properties of both waves and particles on the principle of uncertainty, but it didn't know what light was, or what particles were, or what a wave was, or the concept of uncertainty. It just knew the fact.

There wasn't just one machine, there were rows of them. At least (binary numeral 1100100 "one hundred"), all pulsating the same green light. Inside these glass tubes, a thick mucus prevented the creature's weak eyes from seeing the contents, but it could make out shadowy shapes. Once, a (opposable limb appendage "hand") scrabbled against the side of the tube closest to the broken one. All were contained inside a giant room, lit by nothing but the pulsing, pulsing tubes.

The creature was unsure. Why was it? How will it? What being is? It moaned, piteous and pathetic, and beat its hand feebly on the floor, cutting itself a few more times on the glass. It felt sharp stabs of (nervous response to certain stimuli "pain"), and moaned louder. Why no thought can be what!? Be now some think like for why!? There was no answer, just the quiet, sinister noise of machines humming.

Then, everything went to hell.

A blaring alarm siren began to sound, jarring horribly in the creature's fragile ear drums, making it shriek with pain, and orange lights began flashing from the warning systems placed around the room. A feminine voice began to repeat “Warning. Data Corruption, Block 57005, Machine 64206” repeatedly, corkscrewing into the creature's brain. Pistons clunked and hissed and a door slid open on the other side of the room, various mechanical locks opening. Two (male homo sapiens “men”) dressed in orange (anti-biomaterial clothing “biohazard suits”) rushed in, armed with (non-lethal portable firearms “tazers”).

A favourite of mine, among my pieces. It was one of my introductory posts to an RP called "The Reality of People".
