I did not remember that Marik2007 (illegaly) put up chapter 5, so here it goes.

Chapter 5 “The Neo-G Announcement!”

Back in the living room of Leo`s house, Leo, Leonard and Mary sat all around the table in the kitchen. “Well, I guess we could try the new Neo-G Tournament.” Mary nodded. She took a sip from her hot chocolate. She still was a bit silent because of what happened the other day.

“Hey Mary, are you okey?”

“Hmm, yeah, sort of.” Mary looked out of the window. “Let`s participate in that Neo-G Tournament. It sounds great.”

Leo nodded and so did Leonard. “Well, I guess many good duellists will participate so how about increasing the strength of our decks. There is a game-shop nearby, they have hundreds of cards there.”

“Let`s go then, what are we waiting for?” Leo smiled and they went outside.

They were on their way to the gameshop when Leo`s telephone rang. “This is Leo.”

“Hey, Leo. This is Tommy. Where are you, guys?”

“We’re heading towards some gameshop. Why?” Leo looked around. “Why do you want to know. You’re in the academy.” He heard laughter at Tommy`s side.

“Well, not exactly. Turn around.” Leo, Leonard and Mary turned around and saw Ashley and Tommy sitting at a terrass.

“Guys! How did you get here? You are not supposed to be here until next year.” Tommy nodded as he hugged Mary and Ashley hugged Leonard.

“I made a bet with Claywide. If I defeated him, we would be free to go. So I defeated him and we went of to find you guys.”

“A bet with Claywide, eh?” Leo smiled, he knew that Claywide was always in for a bet. “Well, that wasn’t so hard then?”

“No. Only downside is that we managed to set Zade and José free as well.” Tommy smiled and Leo smiled back. “Zade and José free as well. Why, what did they do?” “Well, they were about to be send to the North Pole Academy. Well, I found that was a bit to harsh, so I stepped in and defended them but included the fact that me and Ashley could go to the surface as well.” Leo smiled and they walked on to the game-shop.

In the game-shop a poster from the new Neo-G Tournament hangs. Seven more tickets are available. Two kids are trying to sign in.

“Okey, what is your main card?” The brown-haired kid took a card from his deck. “This one. My Axe-Raider. He has come in handy many times.” Suddenly from behind a voice sounds.

“Mikey, will you go home? Your momma wants a word with you because of the sign-in.” The boy shrugged and left the shop. Zade comes around the corner, laughing.

“Well, that means a spot for me in the tournament.”

“Yes, I guess so. What is your main card?” Zade took out a card from his deck and showed the shop-owner it. “It is my Omega-Ogre (2600/200). This’ll do for the tournament.” The owner checked the list. “I am sorry, sir, you are registered as a 1-star level duellist. You don’t stand a chance in the tournament.”

“I don’t care. Sign me in.”

“If you insist.” He typed in the name. “Okey, six more spots.” The kid reached out for the owner, but Zade shot him a look.

“I think I will sign in.” Zade shook his head. “You don’t stand a chance. By the way your spot is reserved.”

“No, it is not.” Zade smiled. “Yes, it is. For my friend José.” José entered the shop. She carried sunglasses and a black long jacket.

“I want to compete as well. My signature card is my Injection Fairy Lilly.” The owner checked into his list. “Madame, you are a 0-star level duellist and you are banned from tournaments I just saw. You seemed to have been cheating to many times in the past.” José smiled. “Oh, I will get in.” She took out her dueldisc. “I challenge that kid to a duel to proof it.” The owner nodded. “So be it. If he accepts at least.” The kid nodded. “Let`s go outside then.”

Outside, Zade positioned himself behind the kid. He smiled as José prepared herself for the duel. The kid nervously shuffled his deck and then allowed José to shuffle his deck. “Let`s duel!”

José – 4000

Kid – 4000

The kid draws a card. “I-I guess it is my turn to start.” He held up a card. “I summon……,” but then Zade neesed and the kid was distracted and accidently slipped a 5-star card on the dueldisc, “Panda-Warrior (1500/1100) in attackmode.” However the card he slipped onto the dueldisc was not Panda-Warrior, but the five-star monster called Missile Panda (1900/1200). The owner, who was the referee in this duel stepped in. “Hold it, you cannot play a five-star monster without tributes, kid. You should know that.”

“Disqualify him!” José was angry at the referee. “No, I won’t. It was just his first mistake, that can happen.” José smiled. The boy took another card from his hand. “I set two cards facedown and end my turn.”

José drew a card. “I play Dual Summon, allowing me two normal summons. So I summon two Giant-Orc`s in attackmode.” Two big grey orcs (2200/0) appeared. “Now I play Big March of the Orcs, allowing me to raise their attack by 300.” José further set a card facedown. “Now, both of you, attack directly!”

“I don’t think so, Mirror-Force!”

“Don’t think so either. Go Seven Tools of the Bandit, paying 1000 lifepoints and cancelling out your Mirror-Force!” The rainbow-coloured shield in front of the kid disappeared and the first club hitted the kid and his lifepoints dropped to 1500.

Kid – 1500

“Now, my second Giant-Orc attacks!” The kid flipped up his other facedown card. “Negate Attack, cancelling out your attack!”

“Well, those were two lucky facedowns, kid. Now I set two cards and end my turn.” Both her Orc`s switched to defencemode. At that moment Leo, Leonard, Mary, Tommy and Ashley came around the corner.

“Jeeze, guess who`s duelling.”

“I draw.” The kid looked in his hand. “I summon one monster in defencemode and activate the spellcard Pot of Greed, drawing two cards.” He drew two cards. “Now I set one more card and end my turn.”

“Good, my draw.” José drew her card and smiled. “Well, that`s it for your monster. Go Trap-Hole.” The facedown monster disappeared and the kid was clear to be attacked. “I switch both my Giant-Orc back to attackmode and attack you directly, thus winning the duel!” The clubs of the Orc`s hitted the kid and the kid`s lifepoints dropped to 0.

Kid – 0

“Good duel, kid, but I guess I am just better.” José walked up to the shop-owner. “Well, I guess you won your ticket to the Neo-G Tournament. Congratulations!” José walked out without saying anything. Leo went to the kid.

“Hey, are you okey?” The kid nodded. He was a bit shaky, but stood up again.

“Yeah, I am okey. I can’t participate but that is okey. I guess I was not good after all.” The kid left and Leo and the others went to the owner and filled in their forms.

“Leo Mandevil, 5-star level duellist, accepted.”

“Leonard Besky, 4-star level duellist, accepted.”

“Mary Zoosh, 5-star level duellist, accepted.”

“Tommy Flourish, 3-star level duellist, accepted.”

“Ashley Callon, 4-star level duellist, accepted.”

“Is 5-star level the highest level?” The owner turned around while Leo was looking through some cards. “No, it is not. There are pro-duellists competing. The highest star level I have signed in is 7-star level. But they go all the way up to 10.” Leo nodded.

“Well, I guess it is my purpose then to become a 10-star,” Leonard said, while he was looking through his deck, “and beat Leo once.” Leo and Leonard high-fived.

“Well, you have to get past my deck then. Hey, I never knew those packs contained the rare Dragon-Hunter (2200/2500), I certainly must have one of those.” Leo shuffled the card into his deck. Mary took two cards from a box and added them to her hand.

“They say, sworlds strongest duellists are coming to join this tournament. It is a pity the King of Games, Yugi Mutoh or Jaden Yuki won’t be there.” Leo looked up at the owner`s remark. “They both won’t come? And what about Seto Kaiba?” The owner shook his head.

“Neither of them. I did hear Sidd Vandergild was rumoured to have joined the tournament.” Mary sighed. Great, he joined.

“When is the tournament starting anyway?”

“Tomorrow morning at 10 A.M.” Leo nodded and smiled as he pulled another card from a box and shuffled it into his deck. “I am going to use my dragon-deck in the tournament.”

Next morning there was a lot of people outside the Neo-G Dome. Leo and his friends had no difficulty entering the arena, but some other people did.

When everybody was seated inside the immense Neo-G Dome, Leo and his friends were looking around for familiar faces. They did see Zade and José who entered the tournament and even professor Beav.

“Hey teach, what are you doing here?”

“Well, mr. Mandevil, if you have to know, I am here to win this tournament.”

“I am sorry, teach, but you cannot win the tournament.”

“Why not, mr. Mandevil?”

“That`s easy, I will win it.” Leo and friends went away, laughing. ‘Yeah, mr. Mandevil, laugh as much as you want, but you will lose to me before you can say ah.”

When all participants were in, the organiser, Mr. Goodsow, entered the stage. He was a tall man, suited in a black suit.

“Welcome duellists from all over the world. Welcome to this tournament. Many of you want to be the winner, but only one of you will get the first price, a trip to Europe!” Many duellists cheered. “But before that, the tournament has to be played. There are a couple of things that need to be said. First, no cheating. Our tracking system knows when you are. Second, referees are all over the place so everything will go fair and square. Third, there is an ante rule. The one who wins the duel, gets the rarest card of the loser. But to start things of, I will keep my mouth shut and declare this tournament to have begun!” The duellists cheered as they scattered and a few already went to the assigned arena`s where they would have their first duels.

“Well, guys. This is it. Good luck to you all.” Leo and friends nodded and they went to some stands.
