Great Unclean One: VK
It's just that with Avatar and Dragon Ball Z becoming movies, having white people as the heroes, and none of the asian people getting what should be their roles, seem to be happening alot now. Example, in Dragon Ball Evolution, a white guy plays as Goku, who is clearly chinese or japanese. Another is in the new Avatar The Last Airbender movie. When Paramount got complaints, they recasted. But making indians and arabs and such the enemy. Notice anything? I'm now a pissed off viet now. And we alll remember when the U.S. went against pissed off viet farmers, and who won and how much people died? Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
More like Asian actors aren't applying. They probably aren't considering race and are instead aiming for good acting. Although in the case of DBE, it's probably better that no Asians were in the movie... These racist conspiracy theories really bug me. Racists are hopelessly backwards in these days.
Great Unclean One: VK
Notice anything about this picture? Also, there are some asian and other actors trying to apply, but so far, Paramount and such don't choose them for some unknown reason. Plus, then how come when they recasted the crew this happened?
Jericho
They don't pick gooks for live action anime parts because no anime characters have eyes that are actually like an Asian's.

Umm, hello? Watch this. It'll prove it something about azns.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKTvFhRbBt8 3. I don't need to take sheet from you. I already got some racist bastards at my high school which I gotta deal with everyday. I get my stuff stolen, and they always targeted my libary books so I have to pay for them. Not to mention people keeps on asking me where I'm really from, makes that disgusting "ching chong" crap, and of course, makes fun of my penis. Otaku-sama
Whoa there VK. I'm just a proud Asian as your are, but no need to start planting the seeds of war (flame war at least). I am dissappointed with the choice of actors when it comes to everyone but Aang. Sokka and Katara should be played by Inuit looking peoplez considering the the Water Tribes mimicked them. Zuko should not be an Indian. The only Indian-like character in the anime was that guru guy who helped Aang get the Avatar state. It should be played by an angry looking North Asian. They also left out the massive burn that defined Zuko. I can live with an Anglo-Saxon Aang. Aang looks very white in the anime and North America is indeed an Anglo-Saxon culture. They are entitled to main characters in their movies to be white. Still, their choices for Sokka, Katara and Zuko disappoint me. If it makes you feel any better, the live action movie is not one I'll be watching if given the choice between watching it or having rusty nails shoved up my butt. TAG
I may not Avatar, but I do know enough about to know that not many, if any, of the characters in the show are white. Granted, the actors would actually look the parts pretty damn well if the characters in the show actually were white. But they're not. Thus making the cast choice pretty damn laughable. Goku is not a human. The race of the actor doesn't matter. Touuuche.

[img']http://www.racebending.com/v3/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/castcomparison.png[/img] The hair is all different.Where is the pony tails? So, Sokka, Katara, Zuko, Iroh, Zhao, (The entire Fire and Water nations, actually) Shouldn't be asian at all.The Fire nation is modern day North America, meaning they should be Native American at the least. The Water Tribe is at the north and south poles, so an inuit ethnicy would fit the best, no? I don't see why your so 'pissed off' about this, because 'Earthbending Father' is the only person that would have been born in modern day Asia, and he's portrayed by Keog Sim if I remember correctly. But yeah, if I was Inuit or Native American, I would be offended.
Dweller of Parables
I don't see it offensive. lolIt's just a stupid coincidence.
Great Unclean One: VK
Okay, I admit, Aang does look white, but still. When they re-casted, why did they only change the villians then?
Blamonchesix
Actors are a bonus for me. I could care less about the actors and more about the story.
☨Genocide ☨
It's ok, we got ninja asassin lol. Seriously though, This is probabaly the worst casting I've seen EVER!!! I think that if the people make an anime movie, they should dub it, but if they don't, don't force it down our throats!!!
Guest Supreme Gamesmaster
Ah, yes, Blamonchesix raises a good point. The main reason I prefer anime to everything else is because it tells a good story (unlike American cartoons, Megas XLR, P+F, and PPG excepted) and people don't care more about the actors than the show (every live-action American show ever). THE ACTORS DON'T MATTER. END OF STORY. I'd almost forgotten that. Thanks for reminding me. :D

And I agree with you VK, but calm the hell down. I am also a proud Asian, but you don't see me going crazy. And ow? I'd rather watch the movie then get rusty nails shoves up my butt. I detest little shots, I wouldn't go through that.
Lemniscate
I love the way that this topic is absolutely ridiculous. You are taking the casting of a movie, and what happens to you at school, to essentially say that all of Hollywood is racist. I lol'd. Honestly, I would suggest stepping back a bit, and doing some deep knee bends until you calm down. It's not that big of a problem. Besides, you only listed two damn movies.Get over yourself.
