I am here to announce the greatest honor amongst all honors. I ask in return, no, not ask...I offer you all a chance in a single event, to become history.

 

The challenge:

You must create a themed deck of 50 cards (Like Mai only uses Harpies, I use only Magicians, etc.).

You must create an individual who uses this deck (first and last name, age, height, weight, appearance, etc).

 

Post them here. The top entries will be awarded with the honor of appearing in the Depths of Shadows Trilogy.

 

What is the Depths of Shadows? It is a series of books, but not just any series of books. What was once a game, is now a weapon. Those who seek power use the cards to their will. Millions dead, thousands more to die, heroes emerge and villains reign. The shadows have made themselves known and the keeper of the God's can only stand in its wake.

 

Only those whose characters are selected will be used in this trilogy, and only those who are in the trilogy will get a copy of each of the books.

Clothing: A black coat that reaches down to his ankles,

with black pants of the same fashion. His hair drops over

one of his eyes.

Deck: Emotions

Bio: After losing the one he loved so dearly, he fell into

a depressed state for a couple of years. In that time his

hair naturally became colorless. On one rainy day, he

almost lost it and nearly commited suicide. He decided

to wait and fell asleep for a while. When he woke up

he found a deck of cards on his desk - with a bracelet

on top of it, the same bracelet he gave to his love as

a gift so long ago. He didn't know where it came from

or why the bracelet was there, all he knew was that

his motivation returned, so he set out hoping that

one day he could be together with his one love.

What exactly do you mean by "create" a themed deck? Create as in, all 50 cards have to be original fan-made cards, or all 50 have to be non-fanmade, or a certain number of them have to be fanmade, the othiers non-fanmade.

 

Please clarify. ^^;;;

All 50 cards have to be original creations. No cards can be real Yu-Gi-Oh cards. I'll make the appropriate changes in my original post for everyone this afternoon.

Bio: An orphen that travels travels around to find any sign of his family. The only clue he has is a necklace that was given to him at birth. Because the necklace has Royal significants to it, he believes he stems from Royal. Which is why he uses a Royal deck.

The books are not going to be published and sold in stores.

 

I will be creating the books (front and back cover, title page, etc.) and turn it into a file for Adobe Acrobat. THEY ARE NOT OFFICIAL YU-GI-OH BOOKS.

 

Yes, this is a sort of fanfic. It will be taking real people (or your characters), taking their cards in real-time (time frame of 2005 - 2030) and literally making the cards real.

 

In a nutshell:

The duel disk system is a reality. Holographic monsters are now used during duels both tournament-wise and free-style. A strange virus sweeps through the duel disk system and turns the monsters real. When the user's life points hit zero, they are dead. They will be pretty graphic, heavy on the language.

 

The trilogy follows the life of the three main characters until the final book where the story is brought to a close (or is it?).

50 cards. You can have 1 card each, or a few duplicate cards (in which case I will need a card roster saying which ones are 1, which are 2, and which are 3)

if your deck is for example, a fiend deck, dose that mean ever card needs to some how involve fiends, like would you be allowed to have a card that is just like "sacrifice 1 monster , destroy 1 monster on your opponents side of the field" would that be allowed even though it has nothing to do with the structure.

 

if so then, if your deck is, for example an elemental hero deck, would you be allowed to put in a card like "Reinforcement of the army" (excluding the fact that that is a real card and there for not eligible) even though it is not particularly centered on E-heros

Yes, I will permit you to submit a deck that is based off of a game/show/movie/etc. Like I said, these books are not being published, they are just for fun, so yeah. Copyright laws have pretty much gone right out the window. :P

 

To answer Kazerak,

I would really like to see some creativity as far as keeping it with the same type of deck. I don't mind 1 or 2 cards being different (You will see it in the main character's decks quite a bit) however they are using actual Yu-Gi-Oh cards.

Effect for eye of the Foolish:

Discard this card from your hand to add 1 "Foolish Decision" in your Deck to your hand. If this card is in your Graveyard and your opponent activates a Spell or Trap card and there is a card of the same name in their Graveyard, remove this card in your Graveyard from play to negate the activation and effect of your opponent's Spell or Trap card and destroy it.

Box of Surprises' effect:

When it is destroyed in battle and sent to the Graveyard,

you draw 1 card and show it to your opponent. Then,

you apply the proper effect: *Monster: Remove this card

Effect for Rage Cube:

This card is not destroyed in battle. After your opponent attacks this card with every monster he/she controls, it is destroyed and your opponent takes damage equal to the Battle Damage you took this turn.
