JG.
Much better. Although the splice itself is still rather bad. Lugia's neck is poorly connected to Ho-Oh's body, and it still looks JPG-y.
Cyndaquil
mmyah, it's because Ho-Oh had such an akward body to splice with, why it still looks JPG-Y, I don't know.
Exyst
Because you saved it as jpg, the image quality decreased. If you save as png, the image quality stays bad. Only, and I mean only, option is to redo.
Cyndaquil
True, but nah, from now on I'll do all my other Splices as PGN but I think partially the most awesome one (the top one) turned out a bit LQ was because it was off Pokemon Gold which is quite a LQ game considering how old it is. Guest JoshIcy
That Hitmonphlosion is interesting... Well the idea is. So lets work with that one, and when I'm done. I'll post my version, point out and try and help you in more detail. For now, remember. SAVE AS .PNG!!!. No spriter can ever stress this enough. It's the single one MUST when working with ANY sprite. And try to blend them a little better... Until next time.

Guest Lily
Your trying...Save the base sprites that you are going to splice as PNG also. I think that would also decrease the quality if the original ones are saved as something else. Also, try recolouring more of the actual Pokemon and making them blend more. You'll be surprised with the results if you are able to do so.

Guest JoshIcy
http://i48.tinypic.com/2pobj43.png[/img]There we go. I know it needs more "Hitmonchan", but thats what I did in 30min and it's good for an example. Remember to try and bring in key features in each pokemon. This one was harder, due to Hitmonchan and Typhlosion being so differed. Adding in the shirt and skirt would be scratched, and still look deafeningly weird. So I went with a different approach... -Shrunk Typhlosion.-Slightly realigned his legs.-Repositioned an arm, so the upper one could come forward.-Got rid of his flame fur, so it would be more one.-Added Hitmonchans main 'hair'.-Readjusted his head so it's more leaning in for the attack.-Got rid of his toe details so it's skinnier and better for boxing.-Recolored the gloves to create a slight illusion that Typhlosion is the one punching.-Gave the front arm part of the arm blur from Hitmonchans second-frame animation. I could do more. But since it's more of a show and teach thing, I kept it as is. Hope this helps you.
Dranzer
OK Icy,since you think i'm a bad spriter here're some mistakes I found in your sprite:There is a shadow point on the hair, wich is imposible since of the lightsource of the back. You cood remove some light spots to fix the shades. And the edge of the top part of the neck lookes like it is conected to the hair. Not photoshop...Photoshop alters things at a "subpixel" level. You want a small pallete. So stick to MSPaint if you're serious about spriting. JG.
Photoshop/GIMP isn't for spriting. This the only place in serioud GFX where you actually SHOULD use MSPaint.

Professionals all use Photoshop or similar for spriting, it's just that at a lower level and when working on smaller sprites MSPaint is quicker. Quick edit:Photoshop/GIMP isn't for spriting. This the only place in serioud GFX where you actually SHOULD use MSPaint. Same applies.
