Lyfe.
Doesn't sound too bad! However, I am not sure it is something I would be interested in. Maybe, but barely.

See for yourself' date=' here is one of his songs. As overwhelmingly powerful as, say, Esteban's faux-pas classical guitar playin', or Korn's crappy metal, or Celine Dion's f***ed-up voice. Not powerful as in loud, but powerful as in a sense of meaning and emotion. You don't just hear the words, you feel them and you understand them. he is great...his voice sounds so powerful...I love his song Time to say goodbye...:D As do I, it is just remarkable as to how well he sings it. You don't just hear the words, you feel them and you understand them.[/quote'] Dude - you happen to listen to classical guitar, as built by the likes of Segovia? To heavy metal, first hashed out by the likes of Led Zeppelin? To pop, as built by the likes of Sinatra? To opera, as sang by Pavarotti, Callas, et al? I do. I haven't many classical-music records to boast of, but I know this much: if this Bocelli were to sing at a proper conservatory, the critics would instantly be off and at him, and why not? In the world of opera, his tinny voice, his gurgling thinly disguised as vocal histrionics, his mangled delivery - he'll just be kicked out and into the street, his blindness notwithstanding. In all fairness, it was his voice that first turned me on to opera (only to be jabronislapped by my ex-girlfriend, who was REALLY INTO THE funking THING - she has a nice mezzo soprano, for even listening to his oeuvre). Be warned.

Be warned. Bocelli was the only man willing with the balls to turn opera into to more then one toned songs. He was the pioneer in opera's re-birth, no longer are the days that opera is song by 3 men, it can now be song by 1 man singings all the tones that took 3 men to sing. Bocelli among many other men are recognized on a global capacity while the altones, tenors and soprano's are known only to the selfish and stuck up.Now I am not saying that the classic opera is bad, I am saying that each thing much evolve and become better and this is where Bocelli comes in. You call Bocelli's effective overcommercialization of opera - effectively turning it into easy-listenin' tripe for those without adequate appreciation of opera outside Bocelli - as an evolution? Pioneering?
