Welcome to the Official Duelist League: Creator's Fury Thread!

Duelist League: Creator's Fury is an online Yu-Gi-Oh! Game in progress. The difference from the actual Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Online? It will contain cards from our community, Yu-Gi-Oh! Card Maker!

There is still great work left to be done. Available jobs are listed below in the spoiler. If you would like to sign up for a job or two, post your request here! (If it requires verification, post the verification item here as well.)

The Beta Version will be complete once I receive all the materials and about 300-500 cards. I will then have it tested by a select few members. (Don't sign up for this until it is included in the "Jobs Wanted" spoiler, obviously.) After any glitches and/or bugs have been reported and fixed, Duelist League: Creator's Fury Version 1.0 will be released to the public.

What I Am Doing For This Project Right Now

Making cards, fixing databases, editing graphics

My Work Hours

Weekdays 3:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Weekdays with Homework 3:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m - 9:00 p.m.

Weekends and Holidays Noon to 4:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

Note: Even though Card Creator positions are full, any non-CCs may send me any cards/sets you have already created, and I'll see if they can be added.
Post in this thread if you would like to accept one of these jobs.
Specifications

Simple. PM me, or the judges (described below), cards that MUST be balanced and realistic (no Uber powerful cards PLEASE), that you would like to put in the game. Your cards will be credited in-game.

Also, PLEASE organize your cards into sets. This will make the layout much neater and will make searching cards in the game a lot easier.

Another notice: All Card Creators should check the "Card Creator Notices" below from time to time.

Verification

With your job request, post an example of one of your cards. If it is good, I'll add you.
NOW OPEN Cardback Creator (2)]Specifications

PM me a single card back image (it MUST be a JPEG and MUST be called "cardback.jpg"). Dimensions should be 300x443 and be some sort of variation of the actual Yu-Gi-Oh! card back. If you want to be credited, put your name somewhere on it, like the bottom right (please don't make it big).

Employees

1..:~WhiteTiger~:.

2.YU-GI-OH 3600
Specifications

Very simple. If Card Creators cannot make their own boosters, they can ask you to make it for them. You may charge them points if you want.

Verification

Post an example of one of your boosters here. If it is good, I will add you.

Also, if you did not make all the resources for your booster and they require permission to use, ask the person for permission before you make a booster.

Employees

1.Yu-Gi-Oh 5D`s

2.YU-GI-OH 3600
Specifications

This isn't neccessary, but I would like to have someone make a sig that supporters can use to advertise the project in order to get more employees and (eventually) players.

Verification

Post an example of one of your sigs in this thread.

Employees

1..:~WhiteTiger~:.
Specifications
You may now also PM your cards to Yu-Gi-Oh 5D`s, ઽђαđѳખρℓαઽʍα or Lopunny to check OCG and other realistic things. I suggest doing this when I am offline or busy

If you cannot make your own booster packs for your sets, ask one of the Booster Makers listed above. For now, since I have no Booster Makers, you can ask me to make them for you (I won't charge anything).

Do not be afraid to make the cards a tiny OPed. I think it would be great if I could add a Banlist to the game once is complete. But do not go overboard with this. Once people begin playing, they can report if a card seems too powerful, and I will add it to the (future) Banlist (containg Forbidden, Restricted, and Semi-Restricted). But once again, this is entirely optional.

Minimum Cards to Be Made Per Week: 10
You should (or actually, MUST) organize your cards into Sets. Each set should consist of a name that describes it well, 1 Booster Image and about 60-80 cards. Also, remember to put Set ID on your cards. (For example, you were making a set called "Destruction of Light", the first card's Set ID would be DSOL-EN001, the second's would be DSOL-EN002, and so on.) The first four characters should be the ancronym for the Set, the next two are always "EN", and the last three should be the Collector Number.

Face it, we need some sort of Starter Deck to start with. So I want a card Creator (maybe even three) to make a Starter Deck. It should have a Deck Box Image (the display card should be the Deck's most powerful card), a name (of course), and contain 40-50 cards. The Starter Deck shouldn't be powerful.

Takers

1. PlasmatheHero

2. Bloodline Massacre

3.
This is the LackeyCCG plugin for the actual YGO TCG. If you want to try it out so you get a sense of what the program is like, read on:

Download LackeyCCG here:

http://www.lackeyccg.com/downloads.html

After unzipping it, run LackeyCCG.exe. At the top should be 4 tabs called "Game: solitaire", "Deck Editor", "Server" and "Preferences". Click Preferences.

Now, copy one of these links. The first has quite large card images to read effects better, but slows things down and makes things cluttered. The second has reasonably sized images (which have the same image size I'll be using for this one).

http://www.lackeyccg.com/yugioh/high/updatelist.txt

http://www.lackeyccg.com/yugioh/medium/updatelist.txt

Go back to LackeyCCG and paste it in the box that "Update from URL" beside it. Then click the "Update from URL" button.

Watch the big text box (the "log") until it finishes. The last line should say "Autoupdate proccess completed successfully. Relaunch LackeyCCG for changes to take effect."

So close Lackey and open it again.

Once opened again, click Preferences again. This time, click the "Browse" button. Click "yugioh" in the list and click "Choose". Then click "Load Plugin".

If you need further help, PM me.
For anyone wanting to add cards, but want to do most of the work (seriously, putting 130 cards into a database by yourself is time consuming), here is how to put them in a card database that I can easily add to the game's folder:

1. Get any spreadsheet software (such as Microsoft Excel). If you don't have one, I suggest you get OpenOffice free here: http://www.openoffice.org/

2. Open the spreadsheet porgram.

3. Okay, this is very important. The first 12 columns MUST be these 12 (in order from left-to-right, minus the []):

[Name] [set] [imagefile] [Card Type] [Rarity] [Attribute] [Level] [Type] [Creator] [ATK] [DEF] [Text]

4. Here is what to put in each column:

Name - The card's name. You cannot use accented letters such as é.

Set - What set the card comes from in its abbreviation (example: you're making a set called "Destructive Darkness". You decide its abbreviation should be "DTDK". You would put DTDK.)

Imagefile - The name of the card's image, minus the ".jpg". Remember: all card images MUST be .jpg and their file names cannot contain spaces, but you can use _ (underscores).

Card Type - What type of card it is, like Normal Monster, Effect Monster, Spell etc. For Effect Monsters that have a subtype like Synchro, Fusion, Union, Gemini etc, you would put "Synchro/Effect Monster".

Rarity - The card's rarity.

Attribute - The card's attribute, which should be all caps. (example: DARK, not Dark.) If it is not a monster, leave it blank.

Level - The card's level. If it is not a monster, leave it blank.

Type - The card's type. For monsters, just put their monster type, like "Beast" or "Fiend". For Spell and Trap Cards, put what kind of Spell or Trap they are, such as "Normal", "Field" or "Counter".

Creator - The creator of the card's username. (Yours obviously.)

ATK - The card's ATK. If it is not a monster, leave it blank.

DEF - The card's DEF. If it is not a monster, leave it blank.

Text - The card's effect or flavor text.

5. Put in all the information for the other cards based on the last step.

6. Save it as the default file extension that the spreadsheet uses. (OpenOffice uses .ods files, for example.)

7. Upload the the database file somewhere.

8. Get the download link for it and PM it to me.

If you would like to see an example of how the database should look, here is an example (you need OpenOffice to open it, though):

It isn't 3-D or anything, the program isn't as complicated as you may think. So no "epic battle scenes" or "3-D monsters". Just cards on a tabletop. Also, the thing doesn't control itself, almost everything is user-controlled. But after playing several games, I found that no one used that to cheat or anything.

Please view screenshots of the newest version in the first post.

What program are you using for this?

LackeyCCG. Flame me if you want for using that' date=' but heck, I'm no coder.

Ahh, I'd love to be a card maker for this program, I'm on alot, and if i'm not on enough for you i'll make more time although my life is pretty full. Umm, I love making yu-gi-oh cards, and if you must see a example please ask.

Thank you. Just post one of your good cards here, and I'll decide if you're in or not.

Shadow_BRIGHT when do you want me to send you cards for the game? Also, do you got any specific plans for what kind of cards you're looking for me or other creators to create or can they be anything? Do you want a variety of everything (like some Gemini, Tuner, Synchro, Fusion, Effect, Normal, and Ritual monsters, spells, and traps)? Also how many cards do you want me to send you every week so I can set myself a limit to start making a certain number of cards and sending them to you on a weekly basis?

I think it would be great to have a lot of diversity in the cards (like the actual TCG), so yeah, a variety of everything.

However, PLEASE organize them into sets so that everything is nice and organized in-game. (I'll add that to the first post under "Card Creator".)

Also, I don't really know how much you should do per week, but for now, just do as much as you want. But I guess I'll want at least 10 cards from each Creator per week. Once I get more and more employees, I'll try to set a definite amount.

Yes, they should be orgainzed into sets. For example: "Destruction of Light". On your cards, for the set ID, you would have to put "DSOL-ENxx".

If you would like to make the booster pack image (the game also allows you to open "Virtual Booster Packs"), go ahead. But if you don't want to, you can leave it to the Booster Creators.

Ok then are you going to give me any booster pack set name(s) and the set ID for that booster pack and like what it's main focus is on (like focus on light monsters and their ability to remove and bring back etc.)? Should I start work with Destruction of Light and DSOL-ENxx as the set ID then for like a good amount of card until you give me the queue to stop making cards for that set? Also, I'm not sure if I can do the booster pack image creation I don't have any of the stuff for creating that.

That was just an example, lol. Just come up with whatever set you want and give it a name and Set ID. I guess each set should be about 60 cards. (So, at most, 6 weeks per set.) ( So if I get at least 5 employees, I'll have enough to finish Version 1 in 6 weeks).

The set doesn't need to be completely focused (like actual YGO sets), but the staples of the set should.

And don't worry about booster creation. I'm not gonna force you. Either the Booster Makers or I will handle it for you. For now, just focus on card creation.

Card Creator please. Should i PM some of my old favs?

Yes. Post them here, please. (I don't want my PMs to get overflooded.)

Ok. I can also makes Booster Packs with GIMP.

Here are some cards:
315534a.jpg

Activate only when you have 5 Cards in your hand. Remove from play all cards in your hand. You can then draw cards until you have 3 Spell or Trap Cards in your hand. If you have more then 6 cards in your hand, discard cards from your hand until you have 6 cards in your hand.
315534sv.jpg
When this monster is Normal Summoned you can send 1 "Orange Gadget" from your Deck to your hand. During your Battle Phase if you control no monsters this card can attack twice.
315534du.jpg
When this monster is Summoned you can add 1 "Blue Gadget" from your Deck to your hand. This card gains 200 ATK for every "Gadget" monster you control.
More will come soon.

These aren't my best cards, but all of my good old ones are gone. I'd say these are about a good 7/10 from me, so judge from these. ;3
90593n.jpg

This card cannot be Speical Summoned or Set. This card can only be summoned by the effects of "The Stroke Of Time". When this card is summoned onto the field you may choose 1 monster that was summoned from your opponent, he/her has to remove that card from the field, and back to his/her hand. Also doubling the needed tribute count for that monster. This card also looses 800 ATK for using this effect.

90593.jpg

( Sorry about that real life picture, I was making it for some contest, and I rushed it. )

90593n.jpg

If 2 or more FIRE-Type monsters are on your opponents side of the field pick on the effects below that apply to you.

1) If your Life-Points are lower than your opponent's give this monster half of how much your opponent is over your current ammount of Life-Points.

2) If you have 3 or more monsters with "Elf" in there name choose one of them to send from the graveyard to your hand.

3) Choose 1 card from your opponents hand at random, and remove it from play.

90593a.jpg

Flip: If this card is attacked by a FIRE type monster remove this effect. If this monster is destroyed by a result of battle from the attacking monster. Remove that card back to your opponents hand, and double the summon cost. If this monster is not destroyed by battle this effect cannot be used.
